Cache appears to have needed maintenance since Sept 2015; container hasn't been there since Feb 2016.
14:00 Sat on top of the play equipment solving the puzzle, and the smell of sulfur drifts past... I start thinking maybe it's not worth bothering...
Get the coords. Yep, the cache is closer to the unpleasant smell. Some rubbish here, but I've seen worse - wait. Is that a log sheet on its own? With what appears to be a shopping list on the other side? Augh maybe this isn't it. Better check under the structure. Nope, only spiderwebs and - eep, that bird is flying right towards me! And nooo not a mosquito! Augh nope that's it, I'm going!

I am house sitting in the area for a few weeks.
And I have to take the dog for a walk most days.
OH well, might as well find a few caches while out and about.
A quick bit of maths and off to GZ.
A short search and like a few people before me I found the Lid only and the 'paper mache' , very wet log book.
As there are already 2x Needs Maintenance logs on this cache I will not add another. A new container, log book etc is needed here.
Thanks for the cache.

As per my recent found log, this one needs urgent TLC.

#2889 (1 of 3 today) (Streak day 317)
The Geowife and I were seeing Geoson #2 off at the airport for his long OS trip - starting at Wrestlemania in Texas (hoping to see him on the coverage - row 4 at ringside, facing the cameras).
So after seeing him off we exited the exorbitantly priced carpark and it was time for a bit of caching.
I started with a multi I'd previously looked at, and then the two other traditionals nearby.
Got all three.
###END OF CUT AND PASTE SECTION###
Parked near the playground and we made our way to the published coordinates.
Now I'd looked at this cache after the last time I was in the area - and not come here. As a result I'd already made an assumption re the number required & calculated an answer for GZ, but started by confirming my number.
I was right.
So, that being the case, my calculations meant... This area.
Made an assumption, but nothing spotted. Went for the next likely type of hide. CIH - or what is left of it. Only a lid and a very wet log in a bag.
If I'd been in *The Hademobile* I could ahve replaced the container, but we'd used *The Family Chariot* as it easily fits a big piece of travel luggage in the boot.
Just managed to sign the new, but still wet, piece of paper and replaced it all as found.
This really needs a lot of TLC.
Time for a walk.

A nice straight forward multi with field baths that even I can master !
Was started to rain heavily as I approached GZ and made the find but that didn't matter as log was already soaked. I added another dry sheet from my bag but I doubt it will last long as bottom of cache container is MIA

Another cache found on the way to see the airplanes take off.
Easy counting, did a mistake, so need to recount once again.
Cache found in a very bad condition. There is missing the bottom of the container and the logbook is very wet.

Solved by mr bloopy and found by mrs bloopy. Unfortunately the cache has been muggled as the container lid and very wet log book were sitting in the middle of the path on arrival at GZ. We've put back these back where we think they came from but this will need urgent maintenance soon.
Has been muggled. We could only find the cache container lid and a very wet log book. We put these back where we think they came from but the cache container has gone AWOL. Needs a check.
I remember Bodma! Nice challenge for our quick rest at the park during a family ride. Cache is super wet and slimey. Thanks.
A quick find after some easy calcs. Mozzies and the smell made the signing a hurried task. Picked up Penguin TB cheers.
I'd brushed up on my BODMAS thanks to the Internet last night in preparation for this find today. Collected info at WP1 easily and sat in the shade to crunch the numbers. Thankfully the numbers were small enough for my brain to manage. Headed to GZ and when I'd passed by this way on a recent walk I thought "this would be a great place for a cache" and here it is. Phone had me walking round in circles and I followed a previous cacher who moved lots of ground cover (after acquiring a big stick) but was ultimately fruitless. Then the needle pointed in a completely different spot so I investigated and ta da, a cache. Not as low down as I'd expected. Inside was damp and it could do with a decent dry out. Dropped in a TB. Thanks Bells Angels.
Collected the clue, did the math, visited a likely GZ and couldn’t find anything loose bar the pine needles under my feet. Would be passing back this way within 48 hours so rechecked the sums that night, got someone else to check them with the same result and even noticed other finders the day before and the day after so definitely worth another stop today. This time I moved a LOT more pine needles to THEN find the camo I had expected and the cache also where I had calculated.
As a mathematician I was looking forward to doing this multi. Off to WP1 and counted the mirrors. Check! Did the BODMAS calculations. Check! Headed to nearby GZ, found the hint and soon had the CIH. Check! WP2 coordinates are spot on. Not much muggle interruption here despite cyclists and walkers going past nearby but out of sight. Quite damp inside cache and log book is really wet. Wiped zip lock bag and cache dry, but log book needs a good airing. Swan's badge from boofhead 20752 (April 2014) is still there. TFTC. #87. Brewmaker
I'm embarrassed to admit that I work in a school (but don't teach maths) and at first fell for the common mistake. Half way thru my first set of calculations I realised what I had done and quickly worked out another set of co-ords. A pretty spot ! The cache took a while to locate. It was saturated. SL TFTC Bells Angels
Couldn't seem to get close enough to GZ. I am sure I got the maths right, will send email to CO.
I did the counting and asked MrsFish to check count, then calculated GZ and walked there. Hmm, there were a lot of possible places with a huge amount of pine needles covering everything. I worked along methodically with a torch but MrsFish removed just the right section of covering to reveal where the cache was hidden, certainly not easy to find with this many pine needles around. Thanks for a great multi and thanks to "BODMA" for her sums.
Enjoying a morning of geocaching with pipersand........cache was well hidden!

A nearby health check for the trusty geomobile was the perfect excuse for a morning caching excursion with the odlids. The numbers were crunched at a deserted WP1 and the hunt began. After alot of peering about, in the end it was a hands on search that won out. TFTC
The math wasn't a problem but the search took a long time befor I finally discovered it. TFTC
Came over for a play with the geokids after finding nearby zero seven. Completed the maths effortlessly and headed off to GZ. Plenty of natural camo but caching sense was spot on today. log is damp but still able to be written on at present. The wind was out in force so didn't hang around and continued along the track to find m5 duck pond. TFTC
Wracked my brain from many years ago and solved this puzzle yesterday. Could not find it. Today read many logs and returned. Still no joy. Has been a while since any logs maybe CO should check. Unique puzzle, would have got a favourite point if I had found it.
Found with my second Geoson MaxAdventurer who has been practicing his BODMAS at school.
I enjoy multi caches, even simple two-stage multis.
I am ashamed to say I made a BODMAS error, so the first attempt put me several metres out into swampy water (where I did not go).
Hiked back to the SlackMobile, opened the laptop and used Excel to check the BODMAS rules. Ah !!!! That looks like a much drier place to hide a cache.
Hiked across the park once again, carrying a garbage bag for a CITO cleanup.
Another 10 minutes scrabling in nooks and crannies in the rocks.
Found, logged and replaced. NOTE: There was actually a little bit of water inside the ziplock bag. I dried everything as much as possible and scratched a slightly deeper niche under the rock, so that hopefully the container will stay dry.
HINT: H = 1 metre.
Greetings from France.
Thanks Bells Angels for the cache.

Work out the final coordinate but can't find which access as the gate is locked .... Thanks
The last time I was here, Mandalf, Ridersofroryhan and I got decimated by mozzies and we gave up. Today I returned alone armed with my (relatively) new Android powered smartphone and made a quick find - only one mozzie bite! Happy to convert this one into a smiley... TFTC Bells Angels!
Sure I did the maths properly and was in the right spot, but couldn't find the cache. Will keep the info and try again next time I'm over this way. Long time since the last find.
quickly during Sunday arvo bycicle tour in Rockdale and along Cooks River finished with a hot chocolat and view to a stunning full moon at Grand Parade. As usual some caches in between. All found quick without any problems. Really good containers amonst them, gave some favs away. TFTC
A quick bit of maths, at WP1, and the coords were calculated & loaded into the Garmin. Off to GZ, and what a nice little spot it turned out to be on this fine & sunny Saturday morning. So after a short scratch around GZ we soon had CIH, making this our 1st Multi for the "7 Souvenirs of August" challenge. TNLN SL TFTC.
No muggles about this mourning while working the maths at WP1. Coords into phone and over to GZ. Took awhile before I spied the hide, opened up and dried the condensation on the underside of the lid. The log is still damp but in the drying process. Thanks BA
While some new tyres were being fitted to the car I walked the 600m to this cache and finished off what I'd started some time ago.
The nearby water doesn't look too inviting
Thanks

Every time I visited this cache I was driven away by the mosquitoes. So I would revisit when I had rebuilt my blood capacity to the standard 5 litres and then try searching again. I even took Mrs Boofhead as a strawman because mozzies like her blood more than mine. When she went on strike it was back to running solo.
But the last few days there have been no mosquitoes to drain me, so it was only my incompetence and my dodgy phone GPS that limited my ability to find this little fella.
But not today!
I left a Swan's badge to celebrate the return to the football field of the greatest of all Bloods (Australian of the Year- Adam Goodes)

3/04/14. 5:50 PM. Cache #1427. 2nd of 3 caches around Arncliffe this afternoon. Drove here from the station where I'd just picked up "The other coat hanger". Found the mirrors easily enough, checking the backs to make sure there wasn't a twist. Did the sums - properly. Then a short walk to GZ.
Luckily I hadn't changed out of work clothes - long sleeves & trouser legs meant only my face and hands were exposed to the hungry hordes, but that was more than enough for them to give me grief. Cache found quickly and I couldn't get out of mozzie central fast enough! Off to M5 duck pond next. TFTC }:)

2nd attempt, armed with aerogard. Made a really quick find this time.. Must be the no threat of the biters..
Thanks for a great cache.
Thanks for a great cache.
Not good today. Got 0 from 2.. Not a good day of caching.. I also got eaten alive, so must have been in the right area..
Found this one with 'the neighbs' while walking between two other caches. Thankyou for bringing the primary school maths back to me.

Caching buddy: Muggle Nik
Muggle Nik was off today, so he decided to take me caching!
This cache was in the vicinity and the BODMAS was very easy. Getting WP2 took about 2 minutes.
At WP2, the place smelled so bad, it was gut-wrenching. Then the mozzies came and attacked. Huge ones too! Luckily I had mozzie repellant spray on all my visible skin. But those wretched mozzies found my neck and inside of my shorts a place to munch! Grrr!
Anyway, all of that and I still searched for the cache. I put my entire arm in to a crevice and still no cache.
I gave up after Nik got fed-up of waiting in the car and the mozzies pissed me off!

I was in the area picking up a vanity, and I had already obtained the final co-ords a fair while ago, so it was a good opportunity to pick this one up. As previous finders have mentioned, the mozzies are terrible! I should have applied some repellent beforehand. And the stench is bad. Other than that it is a quite picturesque location.
After signing the log I did some more arithmetic with the date of publication and ascertained that Bodma must be in high school now. Actually I already knew that. Looking forward to seeing what she learns next.

I'd collected this info. The last time I rode to Brighton beach many months ago. My tired brain somehow plugged in the wrong coords as GZ was so far away I knew something was wrong. So I just rode home. Today I was on another ride to the beach I double checked my calculations last night and had the right coords all along. I arrived at GZ with my muggle friend and as she went to get some water I went to get myself a cache. Wow, I never knew this hidden little track existed and the thing at GZ was a complete mystery as well. I had ridden past this hundreds of times and never noticed it before. Thanks for the cache, I just made it harder the first time than it really was. Nice cache placement too, junior Angel!
I too had worked this out at home, but I had to go to WP1 to confirm my numbers.
From here it was a short walk for an easy find.
Well easy for those, like me, who the mosquitoes ignore.

Another nice cache completed on my way home from work. I ride past this park and location all the time but I have never stopped. Today I drove past and took the timeand was pleasantly surprised as I never knew that some of these areas existed. Thanks Bells Angels for bringing me here and thanks also for making me remember my mathematical rules. Nice One!
After flying in this morning from Philippines, and staying at nearby Hotel, a good walk down to this one demonstrated a neat secret spot. The effort and the educative encouragement by the cache owner/parent is most deserving of a favourite point. Well done. I also like the ability to site at both places for writings.
This was my last of the day on the way to the airport. I had sussed out the answer to GZ before hand but was glad to verify my answer at WP1.
Made an easy find but was then bombarded by killer mosquitoes - aaarrrggghhhhh, runaway. runaway, runaway!!!!!!!!
Hastily signed the log and went back to the car only to discover that the swarm had followed me back - I must have looked quite a sight thrashing my arms around trying to rid myself of these evil creatures (give me snakes or spiders any day!!!:)

Arrived at WP1 and sat down to do the math. Then arrived at GZ and was greeted by a swam of mossies. Made trying to sign the log very tricky. Even after leaving the GZ they kept following.

Did the calculations without any real problems. GZ seemed to be the right location, but could I find the cache. Nup. Checked the man made structure and prayed that I wouldn't fall in whilst fighting off the mozzies. Wasn't there. I eventually had to PAF (you know who BA) and gently encouraged me in the right direction to follow the hint. Duh, there it was with some cachers camo added on. Time for a new pair of glasses, but really, it was the cosmic rays playing havoc with my gps device. Thanks for the cache BA. cheers.
I first tried the calcs for this one some months ago, but a check of my results using Google Earth put the GZ in an impossible location. After reading some of the recent logs, I tried again and this time came up with a promising solution so it was off on the treadly to make the find. I have cycled this path many times but have not noticed this spot before. Thanks Bells Angels for bringing me here. TNLN.
Once I got across West Botany St, I parked the car and walked over to WP1. The playpark was a good one, but deserted today, and the sums were easy. GZ was a short stroll away, and I found the hint of use in turning up the cache. GZ was also deserted, but a nice spot near the mangroves with the cycle-way nearby. SL&R.

Always love a maths challenge - this one very easy. Worked it out in my head & got geobrat to check the math (good practice for him - he's a maths geek). Found with JustR.
Kids enjoyed a play on the equipment & geomutt, for the first time, managed to make it somewhere without throwing up in car. Yay!!
Took TB & will relocate in next few days when I find a suitable container/spot. SL TFTC

Found with Rat&Brats, who, along with the geokid, did and checked the math for WP2. I followed the needle directly to GZ, while the rest of the crew took the sensible way and avoided having to battle with the arachnids. Cache was soon located and signed. TFTC.

Well, I guess bikerbuddy's bragging rights are justifiable, because he got this one right. But in my defence (& in defence of my physics degree), I have never heard of BODMAS. I never needed it, that method is just something I've known all my life and use without thinking most of the time.
For this cache, I believed the story & tried to solve maths using the level I thought a year 4 child would use. Luckily bikerbuddy knew what BODMAS was & told me to do the maths properly. Yeah, he was right & I was wrong .
The coordinates we used led us to a logical place to look for a cache & we soon had the container in hand. I sat on a convenient rock to sign the log, handed it back to bikerbuddy to replace while I jumped down & had my only accident for the day - my foot slipped on the pine needles & I fell rather inelegantly on to my bottom .
This was one of many finds on our bike ride between Parramatta & Botany Bay. At an earlier cache, we encountered 'lawnmower man', a guy using a motorised bike on the very easy to ride bike track. He passed us near the Cooks River Cycleway #2 cache. He passed us again while we were working out the coordinates for this cache, on his return journey. Wonder if he enjoyed his ride on what sounded & smelled like a lawnmower as much as we enjoyed our ride?
Thanks for a fun multi & for embarrassing this science geek in front of the arts geek .

Worked our calculations ages ago when we did a quick drop by to reflect! Back in the area again with a window of opportunity - well sort of. The wild wind storm that dropped the temperature 10 degrees in just a few minutes with lightning and thunder struck just as we arrived near GZ! Managed to keep the umbrella from blowing inside out and found what we were looking for. Like using maths for important real-world tasks! SL TNLN TFTC Cheers... Gaztek
Nice easy multi.
I think I need to brush up on my Year 4 maths. I can't believe I got it wrong!!!
First attempt put GZ in the swamp. I thought that can't be right, so I redid the sums and found the error in my ways.
Soooo embarrassed, but I got the smiley in the end.

I think I need to brush up on my Year 4 maths. I can't believe I got it wrong!!!

A quick find on the way to pickup Chip from the airport. A good little cache!

Even in the dark no problem. All the maths worked out as well. Maybe because I doing parent help in year 4 every week?

Very well done. It is good to see that basic maths is still being taught at school. Visited with trackables learning about the local area.
A quick and easy little multi. Never stopped here before. TFTC

gah damn! hot day and in work clothes. I think i am missing something.... must count mirrors again. now i am all sweaty and have to deal with the public.
Found with Tassiegirl13 while out for a walk today.
We both haven't had to think about this subject for many years since we use others tools for it now.
We tried it on paper first but the set of Co-ords we came up with we could see couldn't be right. Better do it the way we know how.
So with that we enlisted the help of a tool Mr Gates made and we soon had a more likely looking spot.
Made our way over to said spot and very soon we where adding our names to the log.
TFTC it really had the brain working this time.

First DNF of my two unsuccessful attempts to cache over the pacific ocean. In a hurry to seek Lord Of The Rings in California. Didn't realize this is a multi and the maths way too lengthy for being able to catch the plane, not yet knowing that it was delayed by 1.5 hours...
May try again in calmer times. TFTCM.

Worked out co-ords pretty quickly but foiled by a couple having a romantic sit and chat near GZ. They weren't going anywhere fast, so we had to give up after a brief search. Might come back on our bikes and try again later
Drive past this park every workday and occasional bike ride by. After a month overseas it is nice to get back to normal cache hunting. Nice spot and dropped off a TB found in Peru.TFTC

Out on a bike ride today with Mrs H & geoson. We set off from Captain Cook bridge, cycled along Botany Bay then took the Cook River cycle path up to Canterbury and back. It makes a very enjoyable road-free ride of about 50k in total and pretty much flat all the way.
Both Mr & Mrs H also regularly cycle past where this cache is during the week and we've noticed GZ before, wondering whether to check it out for placing a cache but never got around to stopping. Wonder what the place looked like before the mangroves grew so big?
Cheers,

Found the number of mirrors no problem, and quickly worked out GZ co-ords. Had a search around GZ but didn't uncover anything other than lots of sunbaking lizards. Not sure if I wrote down the equations incorrectly (I'd copied them down onto some paper whilst at work the day before ...so I had no description, hint, logs etc XD), or just had a maths-failure moment. Stopped here on the way home from the airport (bit of a detour I have to admit considering I live in Castle Hill lol!), so I'm not sure if I'll be completing this multi anytime soon =( But hopefully I'll make it back and find it in the future at some point!!

After finishing training late in the city I decided to take a detour on my way home to find this cache. When I arrived at GZ I looked across from my car to see a pitch black park with no lighting... Armed with my 4D Mag Light for protection I carefully snuck over to GZ and soon located the vital information required to solve this multi.. After a minute or two of calculations on a nearby bench I had some plausible numbers and soon located the cache!
Cache was well hidden but a fun find

Drat! Should have checked my emails before leaving work. Cycled right past this one!
