The beagle had vistied this cache in April and felt responsible for the poor grasshopper trackable that had been in the cache all winter. With that beagle nose he located the cache straight away. Retrieved the grasshopper trackable so that it can continue its journey.

Could not find after looking for over an hour. Maybe owner could check to see if still where left.
Had a great day out and lovely walk along the beach.

Nice walk along the beach but not so nice at GZ as our search proved fruitless. Spent a bit of time traipsing up and down the sand hill and no wiser as to where this one is.
Probably the most frustrating search of the weekend. We really wanted to spot (and possibly exchange) the Grasshopper Travel Bug. Spent about half an hour fruitless searching [:(!] , before deciding time was marching on and we had to keep travelling.
While a frustrating search it was still good to be brought out to the spit, and look across at Taiaroa Head, and the GC's we'd been to the previous day . Oh, and dropped the camera in the sand ... just to be extra memorable.
TFTC!

Another ANZAC day find with skibeagle163. A lovely day down at Aramoana and more periwinkles on the beach than I have ever seen before! Cache found eventually. TFTC.
Despite zeroing in at GZ, couldn't find the cache. The dune falls away sharply at the top on the seaward side, nowhere there for a cache to cling opposite The heads! Searched through the vinca, but found nothing.
Pleasant walk along the beach, sheltered from the southerly by the dunes.

Found while visiting this lovely part of the Otago Peninsula. It was a lovely day which helped. TFTC
This took a bit of finding for me. Initially thought it was covered in sand but alas it WAS what looked to be a bit of maritime flotsom HOTA
Today I was out for a caching jaunt with bedaz, Ngaihill and Bigfoot123, before Bedaz moves away and leaves us to fend for ourselves =(
The plan was to head out into this part of the city and grab as many caches along that route as we could, before I had to be back in town to collect Mrs TEF and Jnr TEF from the airport.
What occured was more of a leisurely day out - but with the sun shining why wouldn't you slow down and make the most of it?
This was our second stop for the day, but my first find - I'd already got the first cache we stopped at. As we rambled down onto the beach we were pleased to see some young sealions sunning themselves on the beach. We had a great walk out to GZ, skimming stones and shooting the breeze as we went. The cliuds parted on our walk, and we were all squinting - except for Dion from Bedaz, like the action man he is he was fully prepared. Out came his trusty swimming goggles, and before we knew it AQUAMAN was walking with us on dry land.
Finding the cache wasn't too tricky - Ngaihill was a bit disappointed I found it so quickly after she logged a previous DNF =)
Co-ords were spot on, byt the sand had hidden the container.
Finding this cache also helped me keep my advent-ure ticking over....
I've set myself a new personal challenge. Sunday marked the beginning of Advent. If you’re not sure what that is all about, check the link at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Advent . I've decided to start myself off on an Advent-ure. My aim is to find at least one geocache on each of the days of Advent, so hopefully by Christmas Day I’ll have a new longest streak which surpasses my current ‘6 Days’ by a country mile. My original plan was thwarted when I had some technical difficulties in Wellington, when I was away for two days... before I left I uploaded my Pocket Queries, but I never checked it before I arrived, and when I hit the ground it was empty. That meant I dropped two days in the middle of the streak, but I’ll still top my previous best run.

A lovely stroll along the beach with TeamElliotFamily & bedaz - nice goggles Dion!
From my last visit GZ was quickly arrived at and TEF had spotted the cache frustratingly quickly
Pleased to have that one ticked off now. TFTC.

A great morning out with TeamElliottFamily, NgaiHill and Bigfoot123 a great way to get the kids out of the house and enjoying the sunshine. TEF has the best scout eyes and saw a funny bump covered in sand!! sure enough cache in hand!!
I was getting absolutely sand blasted. I gave up when I realised how deeply this could be buried by now.
Despite having a really good fossick around I wasn't able to find this one. Coords were a bit over the place perhaps due to the overcast & light rain.
Will have to have another crack next time I'm out this way.

Coords spot on - what you would expect out in the wide open. Kids made some trades and are realty getting into that aspect. Traded down today too - most admirable!
Not sure how long the cache will last in this position. One single wind event could blow it out. Maybe some sort of attachment device such as the one by wellers rock could be useful.
Interesting assortment of people on the beach today including one group who all had tracking devices on them. A teensy bit on edge when one of them deliberately started coming towards me but he only wanted to know where to go to get cockles and I had rather a nice conversation. Since my students study them I could easily fill him in!
Had a wonderful afternoon on the beach mikd temps and only a light breeze. And with that cache: 16 consecutive days in a row of caching! Yeah!

Found it with Meadow27 and Presto94. Really fun day out. This I think was the best cache we found that day. Had lots of fun tumbling on the sand-dunes and walking in the waves. TFTC. Greetings from South Africa. TNLNSL.
Was pleased to find this one as Cumbyrocks caches are just great. It was on the way down the steep sand face due to attrition of the dunes. Relocated it to a more secure possie but only moved it about 2m horizontal. TFTC
No luck today. Tried all of the hint objects but to no avail.
Looking at previous log it may have disappeared or been buried perhaps???
I'll try again next time I'm passing.

No luck today despite two previous finders helping. Great day though with amazing views

Last of the day on a circuit of the Harbour. One of the calmest days I've seen on this beach, usually it's blowing a hooley.
So it was a pleasant walk down to the cache and then a bit of fossicking around in the GZ area until the cache was in hand.

Nice day for a walk along the beach to the end of the spit and back. Finding took longer than it should have. Salamat!
Lovely spot. T lost her balance and rolled and rolled and rolled. V funny!! TFTC.
Found but no pen inside so couldnt write name but inside was a plastic bag with australia written on it so i hope this helps or i would have 2 go back down and write in it TFTC
Lovely spot for a cache, although given the erosion here it may not last more than a few big storms. Confused by the published title- presumably meant to be "spittle"- if it's about etymology a third meaning of "spit" is "a spade's depth". The cache name on the logbook, Te Ara Kaimoana ki Aramoana, is a trifle more euphonious. Then the wind came up, and we had a tough uphill bike ride back to Carey's Bay. Great excuse to visit Aramoana again, thank you!
Dropping of a Finnish friend who would like to spend some time in the sun and surf around New Zealand. TFTC
