Have run out of multis in the city so having to look further afield for caches. December has lots of dot days too, darn it. I'm pretty unlikely to find multis for the dot days I have left but this was an enjoyable walk. I think I found some Nosynel caches along here once. The contents of the container were interesting. What a swag of TT2 sticks! Thanks, Kiwi Moose#10111
Today I headed to Rakaia to walk along the river walkway and find a few caches along the way. The main event for me was this multi as today was a dot day. I didnt have any problems collecting the information required and after the 7th stage, the numbers agreed with the checksum so I wandered back to find the cache. Found it in the 2nd place I looked. TFTC, Biggles.
After a delightful salmon lunch in Rakaia, I went with Trifolia Argentea for a wander along the track set by "Rakaia River Walk". Though it was unpleasantly muggy, it was still a nice walk with a lot of beautiful flowers to catch the eye and nearly enough little shady spots to stop for relief along the way.
We didn't have trouble with any of the waypoints, though one took a little looking. Thank you for the cache!

Today we enjoyed a caching expedition around Rakaia, with drive-bys on Acton Road in the morning, and the Rakaia River Walk in the afternoon. In between we had a delicious lunch at the _Salmon Tales Cafe_, and then walked all the way from where our car was parked near the cafe. It was a very pleasant walk, grabbing various solved Nosynel puzzle caches along the way. With the solved coordinates in hand, we made a quick find on the return walk. TFTC!
Great to get out for a walk, if it wasn't for geocaching we'd never know this walkway was here TFTC
I needed to get out of the house today and finally came across this as a good potential. A bit delayed but finally got going and it turned out to be a great wander Pretty quiet on the trail so an easy hunt.
TFTC!

Nice day for a walk along the river. Pity you need binoculars to see it. Cheers.
Stopped off in Rakaia to catch up with Bullertrout and Bro. Bullertrout took us on a geo walkabout along the river. Left our calling card here. Cheers. Another one snagged with the courtesy of Bullertrout.
Day 1 - Pcton to Tekapo. It ended up a long day, getting on the road by 7.30 after arriving off the late ferry at mid-night. Caught up with Bullertrout and Bro at Rakaia. Stopped off at Ashburton to snag a couple of LABs then headed to Tekapo for the night arriving at 10.30 with The Seagnoid driving the last leg.
The Seagnoid, Zara, Toby and I are of on another Geo adventure this time to Mt Cook for 5 days. Met up with Bullertrout and Bro on the way down. Lake Pukaki was fine but Mt Cook was wet and wild with the Hooker Valley being closed due to high winds, so did not stay long. We went exploring Tekapo, Timaru and a round trip to Lake Coleridge. Short trip and very tiring but awesome.

Taybeedragon and I stopped in Rakaia to catch up with Bullertrout, that they insisted we join them for a walk up the river.
Sure, we could visit the waypoints and solve the puzzle. Or we could use a different approach - which we did. We checked all the hint objects that were along the trail at least 160m from another cache and were a little surprised to actually find the cache. On te other hand Bullertrout had found this about 9 months ago and knew roughly where it was - "somewhere along this side of the river", they said.
Taybeedragon and I are on a geotrip to Mt Cook. Just a week, but with two days to get there from Picton and two days to get back it only meant 3 days on GZ. However we had really high winds (almost got blown off the road) and rain at Mt Cook so we didn't stay long and instead explored some of the other areas around. 99 caches all up, so we found one more in Blenheim just before I hopped on the ferry to make for a nice round 100 finds.

Found on a nice bike ride. Staying at nearby camp for a few months as am working in the area.
I had to head to Barrhill today to check on my cache (to check it hadn't succumbed to a slip. It hadn't).
I figured as I was in the area I'd clean up as many caches as I could between Highbank and Rakaia. In the end I only DNFd three caches and got seventeen finds (including a bonus find near Burnham).
If it wasn't for geocaching I would never have known this track existed! I also probably wouldn't have walked it.
As it is, there were other caches to pick up here and I couldn't just leave this one all alone. In the end I did DNF one of the puzzle caches so I'll still have to come back.

Enjoyed a walk along this route and easily gathered up the numbers. The cache was a quick find. TFTC.
Had a great walk and was really pleased to find the cache. This one was our last find for the day.
great walk on a beautiful Autumn day. Found and walked with Lytteltonwitch, and on some occasions, Albertine the junior skeleton. Final was in a great dry spot that had us on our knees, but not to worry, a good final to a great multi. TFTC and the experience.
What a cool multi! Collected the numbers on the way out, and located the cache on return. Well hidden! I saw a spot that could be the ideal hiding place, but could not fully explore from the side I was on, so I had to clamber over the prickly stuff the get in closer. No visits for a long time!! TFTC!!
After spending quite a while on the first multicache here, we decided to go for the Rakaia River walk hoping it would be a shady walk.
The Walk appeared to be rather nice but not very shady and already 32 degrees in the sun, but we carried on.
We entered the track near wp 5 and went to 6 and 7, hoping we could gather enough information to find the final without having to go back again for it from wp.1.
At first it seemed to be too little information to look for the final, but after a bit of thinking and making an assumption, we had some possible combinations to start looking.
So we were very happy to find the final at the first possible combination.
We finished the hike and headed back for the campsite to get some rest in the shade.
We enjoyed the hike a lot.

This one had been on our must do list for some time. A cold wind blowing along the path. We braved the cold and did our calculations and headed off to find the well hidden cache. TFTC

Got a call from 2wombles asking if we were keen to join in some eating, and some caching! Took a while to find a spot where we both had plenty of caches around, and that was close enough, but eventually we decided on Rakaia!!
So after a feed off we went for a walk
Nice easy ones mostly.

Hasn't been caching much down here so decided to make a day of it today. Teamed up with Sonia26642 and KHSV as well as the rest of the womble family to grab these. My two year old had started asking "Get the cache daddy" when I return to the car (not always after getting a cache) Thanks for the multi and the cache.
Yesterday StreetWalkerNZ and I decided to attended this afternoon's Ashburton CITO, and make a day of it, caching in Rakaia and Ashburton.
I was looking at the new puzzles on GSAK maps and noticed a swag of WPs along the trail (thank goodness for GSAK as geocaching.com is crap for solved puzzles and WPs), so we knew to do this multi at the same time. It was quite a long walk and we were roasting in the warm sunshine. Despite that, it was an enjoyable walk with good views along the way. Final was a quick find, though I may have bungled a little as my GPSr was pointing 25m down a steep bank. Thanks for the walk and TFTC.

#14047. We enjoyed our walk along the river; much more interesting than I was expecting, with good views of the river and the mountains. Finding the cache helped to break up the return walk. By the time we got back to the car, we had well and truly earned a lunch at the Salmon Tales Cafe (really enjoyed the bacon and egg panini). TFTC.
Did a wander along here today to find the new puzzles and talked to some guys replacing the last seat. The red seat with C slats is now a green seat with 1 less slat, so one must add one to the answer you see. It's in the cache notes but it'd be annoying to miss out
Finally a sunny day and no chores or work. I decided to drive down to Rakaia. This multi was first on my to do list. So off I womble.
After collecting all the information I made my calculations. Sure enough it was right where you had promised. Thanks for the multi and walk.

Had put this one off for ages but was in rakaia today and it was the last cache for me to grab so I had to clean it off my map. Off we went and got the information from the waypoints and had a likely location. Back towards gz we go. Made the find in the pretty obvious location. A great multi tftc
Today's trip was supposed to clear out the area between Lincoln and Southbridge, but instead I ended up in Rakaia... well done me? Naturally I didn't walk the length of this walkway as the CO had intended... I am faarrrrr too lazy for that . Instead I opted for a series of shorter walks, parking at several of the entrances along the way. Glad to have ticked it off. TFTC (3110)
After a morning grabbing the last cache up at lake Clearwater. I made the effort to knock off the 2 multi's in rakaia and got them both have to admit to a bit of park and dash for the way points on this one but a well put together cache on a nice track cache in good condition tftc
Had a busy week and needed some cache action. I called up TG to see if he was up for a Friday night jaunt to the boonies. Of course he was. TG picked me up and we headed off into the sunset.
Took a bit to find the way to the final. Got there in the end. Lovely views Eastward.
Thanks for the cache Kiwi Moose.

This cache has been on my list for awhile and today seemed like the perfect day to for for a bit of a walk. We parked near the salmon and started our search for the waypoints. It didn't take too long before the desired numbers were in hand and adding up to the desired solution. We headed back towards the car and picked up the cache on the way back. Nice hiding spot and all was in goo order. Switched TBs. Thanks for the cache!
We are on the road again!
Today we found some very nice geocaches and enjoyed it to walk along every single trail.
Thanks to to all the owner for hiding the caches!

Mallorcatommy and I were on our journey through the southern island of New Zealand. With the help of geocaches we came to so many beautiful places, saw breath-taking landscapes and had, all in all a very wonderful journey! Thank you to all owners for placing all those nice geocaches!
We too have been meaning to do this for ages but didn't fancy a 7km walk. Then saw someone had done it mainily by car and did the same. Missed one of the co-ordinates but went back and got it and luckily the final was only 300m walk away. Lovely evening and nice to see this track. Hope they continue to develop it. Rakaia is bigger than you think.
Been meaning to do this one for a while, and today I finally did it. Had the trusting cyclo on the back and rode the trail till I had all the WP info, then back to the final, quickly found. Thanks for the hide KM.
On a mission to find four multis for the 4x4 challenge. Cheated a bit a drove to most of the waypoints as it was starting to rain. Easy find (#1 multi) and a nice spot. TFTC.
Easy find today when the Norwester is blowing.
I did the numbers on a previous visit so out and walked it again with a couple of locals.
Great walkway.

I had had this cache in my sights for quite awhile (like just over 2 years) but I never seemed to have the time to seek it. Today it was set down to be the 1st cache attempted whilst on a cache raid to Ashburton. I came prepared with my MTB. My timing (i.e. the 2 year delay) proved to be of great benefit for the track has just recently been substantially upgraded with new 2.5m wide rolled gravel having been laid down. The one disappointment was the new, un-bike friendly, stairs and barriers built at that hilly road crossing. I refused to use those and instead rode the tracks used by the path constructors trucks and just heaved my bike over the gates - much easier. Having gathered all the required data on the way out to S7 it was a relatively quick trip back to the cache and Rakaia. Thanks Kiwi Moose for the excuse to ride a new track.
Came out to Rakaia on a sunny afternoons Trademe mission. Mission complete and a bit of time for some cache hunting in the area. Set my sights on this. Collected the majority of wps (in reverse order silly me!).....before calculating the final. Drove then wandered back for a quick find and sign. A great walkway. Thanks for bringing me out this way for a wander. Cheers.
It was a nice fine day so we brought our bicycles to attempt this cache. There was no problems with the waypoints and enjoyed the views from the last seat.
+ a marble, - nothing.

Have been meaning to do this walk ever since it opened but never got around to it. Now I have. Thanks.
We didn’t have time to walk the whole way, so drove to some of the waypoints and walked to some. The coordinates were soon gathered, and the cache was a quick easy find. TFTC
We borrowed bikes from family in Ashburton for the purpose of picking this one up. A nice ride, we hadn't been along here before
We wanted to do this walk long time ago (actually close to when the cache was published), but never found the time. Today was the day and we enjoyed it very much. This was a great walk in the evening with good views over the river. Not so much the mountains though, as it was just too cloudy. Thank you to the locals for this excellent walkway and KiwiMoose for placing the cache.
Have never done this walk so this was a bonus to finding the cache. Magnificent views of mountains and river.
4484. Had a bit of time to spare in Rakaia today so decided to complete this one, which had been on our list for some time. Travelled by mountain bike, which was fun in the rain. Had a good idea where the cache was on the way up but didn't look until the tasks were completed. Lo and behold it was there right where we thought! Nice multi-cache which would be lovely on a sunny day. Thanks, Rodney & Iris.
A great walk and the people of Rakaia should be congratulated, although I thought we were going to be near the river. Loved the sculptures. (Didn't I see similar designs around Arundel?) Thanks for quite an involved multi. Coords spot on.
What a great day for walking!, pretty amazing views of the river and its' surrounds. This will be used as part of the Ramblers Reward Challenge
Thanks

Had a nice walk out doing this cache this afternoon. Nice view of the riverplain from this terrace and lots of birds about. Cheers Gav [9777]
A lovely long walk to start off our evening of caching.
Great that daylight savings is now here.

NIce walk with the little man. Took two hours as short legs aren't so fast. +TB.
