This cache urgently needs checking out as it hasn't been found for almost a year and prior to that it was found quite frequently. Three of us were searching for it today including one who has found it before. It needs to be checked and noted on the cache page if it is there or has been replaced. The other option is to archive it.
Searched today without success. The hunk of concrete rubble it was tucked against back in 2011 has gone, and there is no sign of any other pile of rocks. I recall it was placed by "TreMichLan, maintained by the Otakou whanau" so since he/she/they are no longer caching it's certain the cache won't be maintained.
Found on our 25 day New Zealand South Island holiday.
Apologies for the late log but with little or no internet as we travelled and only super slow WiFi in van parks I decided to log all finds on my return home.

Great cache. Found after a bit of searching. Thought it might have been destroyed by some current roadworks near gz but nope all good still. Tftc
Huch das war ganz schön schwierig ohne verständlichen Hint die Suche zu beginnen. Den der Maorisprache bin ich nicht mächtig
We'd stopped here in our early days of geocaching with no luck and pleased to turn this one into a smiley. Co-ords are about 9m out for us here (which is probably why we didn't find it last time). Found with Aoraki Sheep.
Spotted a likely hiding place quickly but had to wait for muggles to move on before we could make the find. Found with debsnz
My lack of the Maori language came to the fore with this one. After scrambling all over the face of the nearby bank I had to resort to getting another hint... this time in English. Thanks Dakotacats
This time we found the cache really easily. Nice to finally get this one ticked off. Thanks
We had unsuccessfully looked for this ages ago but gave up in despair! Today was a whole different story. Should of trusted the T rating more. TFTC
Would have liked to join the divers that came out of the water at the opposite side... Quick find.

We found this cache on our way to Royal Albatross Centre. Greetings from Germany. TFTC
After a visit to the Royal Albatross Center we found some caches on our way back to Dunedin. I made it more difficult than necessery here but after a while I found it. Tftc and greetings from Sweden
Had not prepared for this cache so had no idea what the description or hint said. A quick google and hint translated so concentrated our search and soon turned up what may or may not be the proper cache or just a replacement. Small log had a few signatures so signed and replaced. TFTC
A straightforward find on my birthday visit to my son. my Maori is elemental so guessed location by using the 'where would I put it' method. TFTC
We came along the road and hold on, what's that? A horse, just wandering back towards Dunners with no rider. Or anyone in attendance. Just wandering along. Parked up, looked at the terrain rating and success pretty quickly. Cheers
Logging find made with ajbenn . TFTC, we enjoyed the special magic of the area on a lovely fine, calm day.
This spot was a busy place on a fine Sunday morning. Parking a motor home was interesting but achievable. The GPS indicated the prize was nearby but 5 metres away so up the hill we went and down the hill we came empty handed. Some thought was required and then wandercat remembered something she had read in the logs and bingo, almost immediately we were signing in. TFTC
We searched and almost gave up, but then spotted it. Should have paid more attention to the terrain rating! Found on our bike trip down the peninsula.

Found this one during our month long campervan/"Road trip" vacation in New Zealand. It was a wonderful experience driving around this beaurtiful country.
This one was found on a day driving from Te Anau to Portobello (Otago Peninsula)
Thanks to Te Reo Maori.

Start of are holidays from England. This is our first Cache in NZ. Waiting for the Albatross Center to open, came back down the road to find. No translation, good old Cacher's nose.
As in the logs before my GPS guided me up the hills, but as in those logs there is no Need to do so.
Kind regards from Germany

After long search and getting a bit soaked by the repeated rain showers today I finally found this one. The coordinates got me up the hill, the hint I couldn't read. Only after other log mentioned that the coordinates are a little bit off I tried to search on not so difficult terrain. There it was.

GPS wildly inaccurate so I searched high above when the cache was right under our noses all along.TfTC
We translated the hint as "look for a rock prison" and eventually we were able to give the prisoner a short taste of freedom before returning it to the original position. Kia ora. Thanks for incarcerating this cache
A quick find on a drive down to the Point for the new one. Dry in the tin despite no bag.

Enjoyed a cruise on the Monarch before finding cache nearby. Lots of wildlife on the Peninsula today. TFTC
Leaving Dunedin with a drive around the peninsula. Some lovely views and caches along the way. Gorgeous piece of coastline thanks for placing caches here

Spending our last day caching on the peninsula today. Stopped in as passing. Appears co rods a tad out as looks like everyone heads up when really it's a lot closer than you think. Nice quick find thanks.
Out cruising along the otago peninsula caching for the day post MEGA. It was our final day of our Dunedin trip and the weather really turned it on for us! We had sun, rain, hail and snow! Just like our first day here! Awesome!!
GPS definitely had us up e hill and by the looks of the geotrail, many others had been up here before us! While was up climbing, Butchie bum and red junior made the discovery on the lower levels. TFTC!

GPS wanted us a bit further up the hill, and judging from the cache trails other people might have found the same. A small climb also seemed to match the terrain rating. After a couple of false starts it was found though and could probably be a T1. Glad to get it as the previous logs I had downloaded before leaving Sydney were DNFs. TFTC.
Cache number #186 during the Mega expedition to the South Island. Found with the Seagnoid on our way to the point. A passing tourist spotted our flag and stopped to get directions to the penguins. TFTCSL
Out for the day with pprass and Juddda, out to the Peninsular for the day. There was a bloke working on his roof nearby, facing us, so our search was very subdued.
Cheers from Browngang.

A quick easy find, despite being unable to translate the cache description and hint, fortunately as the sun had set and the temperature had fallen rapidly to 5 degrees. TFTC
Really not sure how I missed this last time. Miss 10 went straight to it, and of course it was there. Replaced the container wth 1 similar I had in cache mobile as the lid would not shut and was a little damp. All good again for many more visits. Was a beautiful day out here today and I thank you for the cache.
Arrived near GZ and there were a few locals nearby. Got some assistance with the translation during which time my mate found and signed the cache. TFTC
Stupid being taught French at High School when you come up against something like this!. Arrived at GZ to be greeted by Muggles who must have wondered and then wandered up. Drawp went to receive assistance with translation whilst I searched frantically. Bitsprayer pulled up after having turned the vehicle around, told me he thought I was a bit high up the bank - and he was right! (again)

It was good to see a cache described in Maori although we could not understand.
However using experience soon found this cache.
Thank you.

Easy find. Got up early to take the kids to watch 3 cruise ships coming in, not many people around at that time of the morning.
Kia ora for the cache.
Kia ora for the cache.
KIA ora. This trip took on a multi tasking event. I managed to talk my cool 13 year old to accompany with a "Flat Stanely" from Arizona to the albatross colony. On the return trip, we stopped for drink and time to enjoy the magnificent view. Found the cache quickly and dropped of the trackable here for 2 reasons. 1) this trackable needs to get moving and thought "The gateway to the Pacific" was a great spot for it. 2) the trackable concerned is out to raise awareness of Type one diabetes and my 13 year old sent the cache on its way - she is a type one herself.... Actually, probably 3 reasons - I had not been able to talk my daughter into joining me on a cache and I think she actually kind of enjoyed it! Tftc.

No problems with the cache. Really hot day so I felt obliged to buy an ice-cream to justify using the car park.
The original plan for the morning was to kayak out to the islands, but the plan fell through, at least for the time being, so we decided to stay on the peninsula - so many reasons not to get bored there nice find on a quiet morning, everyone was probably in town shopping... Nui kitenga, kia ora!!!
Got this one when down in Dunedin caching for the weekend/ spending Christmas with mum. (Well I was caching with mum too, so we had our quality time!! )
It was an easy find on a nice, beautiful weathered - day, with the obvious 'it's here!' markers!
The 4th for the weekend of like 50 or so... haven't gotten to counting yet! We spent the first day caching on the peninsula. I'd forgotten how pretty it was!! Lovely views.

Met up with Waimak here, and we managed to follow him around for the next couple of hours caching on the peninsula. Easy find. Not sure what the problem was Cheers Gav [10153]
Easy enough once the muggles across the road moved on, and once I stopped looking at all the hard places it could be.
Tftc - a wee way to come for only one but we needed to get out of the house and go for a drive so this suited well. Plus it's was gradually creeping to the top of the closest list. Nice to have the peninsula polished off again too!
I quickly guessed where to look and found the cache. The wind was very cold this afternoon.
After such a good idea for a cache, it was very disappointing to find a substandard hide.

Ae, he tika tou korero. Ka ngahau i te haere i te Otakou. Ka nui te pai e hoa. Tenei rawa atu koe.
Tena koe, Well, I am an American but my Maori is improving by the day. A lovely spot, and yes, we finally did get the opportunity to go out to the Peninsula. TFTC
How very appropriate during te wiki o te reo! I was just commenting to a workmate that learning a few words of Maori is interesting but you'd have to put in a lot of effort to get beyond "homai nga rakau whero me te rakau kowhai" to conversational Maori. But, this cache is quite an incentive to learn a bit more... Kei hea te puoto? Homai te puoto!
