Logs

01-Feb-15
As previously mentioned we are no longer residing in NZ and as such are unable to maintain or replace this geocache. The last couple of logs seem to indicate that the cache has either been muggled or incorrectly assembled upon replacement. As such, sadly this cache must be put to bed.

Did a search at night no muggles around got the torches out and found absolutely nothing. It might be gone hopefully CO will check GZ.

27-Nov-14
Omg.. This knackering me head in. But hopefully better luck next time.. Not that much muggles were suspicious about my find.

04-Nov-14
No luck for me today. Couldn't work it out. Area was muggle free. Hopefully it's still here!

30-Oct-14
I had been here several times, but muggles prevented a good search. Today, I had to get the car serviced, so I walked over. I only had to wait out some school kids and then I had the place to myself. I did a methodical search to find it. TFTC.

05-Oct-14
Cool find !!!! Not too muggly here on a Sunday afternoon. !!!

05-Oct-14
Tried in the past but soon found today. TFTC.

04-Oct-14
Thank you for the rhyme! Deserves its 3 rating as it is quite difficult to find - even more so if you were there on a lunchtime work break!

04-Oct-14
Great hide! Took a while for us to find it but a rainy Saturday made it easier as very few muggles outside. TFTC.

26-Sep-14
My first North island find! Actually, this was almost my first dnf, but with some more searching with my muggle friend, and a bit of a push from other onlookers, I finally found my first North Island cache!

Awesome cache

13-Sep-14
Found while in Auckland for my brother's wedding. Having lunch with friends who have kids. Was good to be outside. Stuffy mall. Took a wee while to spot. Tftc

13-Sep-14
We offer our thanks to 'Stik-a-crane' who has kindly replaced the log in our absence. Happy hunting.

07-Sep-14
Still out and about in the early evening and it looks like a great time to do this one (Muggle free).
The GPS was a bit vague and suffering from building bounce but the description made the area clear enough, just a matter of head down, touch out until the hide was found.
With the normal nano extraction tools the signing was done and the log refitted. Popped the cache back just as a night patrol was doing his rounds but he did not question us...
Good hide that would be impossible to do at times.
TFTC Smile

06-Sep-14
Was out and about tonight and remembered this one needed to be done with a few less mugglers around.
Arrived at GZ and hey presto, no one around, so hunted this one down quickly....
Replaced log with a plain piece of paper, (not an official nano log) and returned back to it's hide.

TFTC.

Took some searching while trying to look inconspicuous (not easy). Found in the end. TFTC

05-Sep-14
I'm reposting the cache owners log of 8-July-2014 regarding the full log as recent cacher's obviously aren't taking notice of it:

"We are unfortunately far away from GZ at the present time and as such it would be fantastic if a kind geocacher could replace the log for us. Note that the log is nano sized. Many thanks and happy hunting!"

If a kind, fellow cacher, can replace the log (nano size) it would be appreciated!

Happy Caching!

Another wee night cache after enjoying an evening at the Geo bowling event. Glad to be driving about late as not a sole about Smile.

02-Jul-14
New log required

02-Jul-14
I scoped this one out before I went in for the find. No one about as it was starting to get dark, but very cold. During the day (on a nice day) I can imagine that this place could get busy, as it looks like a nice place to hang out. Log book too full to sign, and I did not have any replacement logs for that size cache. Thanks for bringing me here.

01-Jul-14
Have tried finding this one a few times with no joy. Had joy today while on my lunch break. Found it quickly.

Glad to get this one off my list Smile

Log book completely full. If I had my kit with me I would have replaced it for...but sadly I didn't.

Needs a new log please, old one is full!

04-Jun-14
Returned armed with a coffee, a baby and a husband. It was a lot easier to find this time as we could sit down and enjoy some morning tea on the bench while finding the cache. The baby was a great distraction for anyone passing by. Log was full, no room for our initials even Sad

01-Jun-14
Out Manakau way with Anna of Mike and Anna and decided to pick up a quick few caches.

Knew what we were looking for but still took some searching before we put our hands on it. Not helped by a lot of muggles around.

A few muggles in the area but too busy to notice us peeking under things. Soon spotted the cache, signed and returned it.

Please note there is only one more space in the logbook to sign and then it's full.

Thanks for hiding.

Out early in the morning with a few caches on the list accompanied by Nova Lightning. Have been here before a number of times but there had always been an abundance of muggles about.
Today with the coast clear it was an easy retrieval

16-May-14
On a very brisk morning up inAuckland to collect a whole lot of caches with cats and dragons. He wanted to grab this one before all the muggles arrived. Can see why. Easy find with on one watching

05-May-14
Even though it was raining there were way too many muggles about!! We'll have to return with my daughter as I think she'd be better at finding this one discretely.

02-May-14
Midnight caching!

We hunted for ages at night for this once but or search was rewarded! The log book is already full. Awesome cache

06-Mar-14
In the area for work so had to try for a few. Too muggly for a decent search and a sit and fumble didn't turn up any results. Next time maybe.

07-Feb-14
A nice stroll around the shops and into the courtyard for this cache. Definitely a high muggle area. The old "tie the shoe lace" trick worked well here. Might need to go buy another pair at the shops.

06-Feb-14
30th cache woo-hoo we really had trouble finding it (i just danced LOL)

02-Feb-14
Couldn't really understand the hint but after looking at a satellite view of the area we spotted it straight away! TFTC

Many muggles around, but none really seemed interested in what we were up to. Second stanza spot on. Have moved cache slightly closer to GPS coordinates. TFTC.

28-Jan-14
Whoo Hoo! 3rd time lucky! I had some mail to post & had to get some school supplies so I thought I would stop by. Only 1 muggle sitting there, more interested in their phone than us. Z1 was on lookout as from time to time muggles would walk by. Poor K2 is going to be gutted to find out that I found it without her. I agree with the comment made about Cache creep. My GPS was way off, almost in the opposite direction. I think it might be time to buy an actual GPS device that rely on my cellphone & Google Map/Earth. Thanks for the challenge/cache.

11-Jan-14
2nd visit to GZ but this time with the son Z1. We weren't able to have a good look this time (now we know what we are looking for - thanks for the hint from 'Berly's Barn') as we had a muggle staring at us the whole time (over 1/2 hour) while we were waiting for friends to turn up to pick up the kids. Even with pretending to crawl around on the ground, with the baby didn't help but I guess we have now narrowed the search field down. Maybe 3rd time lucky?

08-Dec-13
Looked exactly where they told me to but did not find it. I did however, find an empty plastic bag in the place where it should have been. I think it might have been muggled and needs to be checked up on.

This was a mission. Took me ages to find and was just luck I saw it. Still don't understand the stanza part of clue but added this to my count. TFTC

08-Nov-13
2nd visit still no cache!! GPS had me in the middle of the grass area!!

04-Nov-13
Came the first time and started to look for it, however many muggles were around so I decided to look for different caches in town. Second time around and still no luck, couldn't find the cache so again decided to continue my quest on other caches. When I came for the third time, there was a group of muggles so gave up and went home disappointed. Will be back!

24-Oct-13
Hmmm...gta figure this out....

23-Oct-13
Just as well I chose the right time to come here. It took a little longer to find than expected but after I read a previous log about expanding the search area I had it. Thanks DazndKy.

04-Oct-13
Many visits over the last couple of days. Lots of muggles each time. Might have to skip this one thanks Smile

21-Sep-13
A wet Saturday evening, empty parks nearby and no muggles in sight! A perfect time to look for this cache. It took a bit of searching as it looks like there may have been some cache creep as jandalfan mentioned. Thanks!

18-Aug-13
Our second attempt. Last time the blood rush to the brain stopped us. Today even with such nice sunshine we mostly had the stanzas to ourselves and we were determined. Took us a long time. About 10m from our GZ but it stuck out once spotted albeit in a place we both swore we'd checked. NINO TFTC

17-Aug-13
Headed to Manukau Shopping Centre after the International Geocaching Event, and thought it would be a good idea to finally grab this cache, having attempted it before without much luck. There was some muggles about GZ, but they were all facing the wrong direction and not really paying attention. Just as we were about to give up, deciding that some muggles were actually about to start wondering what were doing, the cache was finally spotted! It was quickly retrieved, and the log was signed. Thanks for this fun cache! Smile

17-Aug-13
Glad to see that people have found this one....I will have to come back and have another look Smile

17-Aug-13
Dawn attack on this one made it easy to score without Muggles.

16-Aug-13
It took a bit of searching And a lot of waiting for muggles to move on but the cache was here and so eventually found, signed, and replaced. TFTC

09-Aug-13
Came back today for another look. Best time to come...raining and no muggles in sight.

I had a good look for it, but still can't find it.

I hope it is still there.

08-Aug-13
No luck today. But had a rough looking muggle starring at me

06-Aug-13
I have been stopping here several times over the past couple of weeks, while passing and have not found it, thinking it might be just me and my eyes, didn't log it, and thought I'l give it a go another day, but now a few DNF's are now being logged, I too thought I better log a DNF .

05-Aug-13
Third visit, still did not find it, but will not give up, have been reading through some more notes and have a idea now, will go back. Ha

03-Aug-13
Dad and I searched for a while but were not able to find it, will have to try again another day

21-Jul-13
A bit late in logging this DNF, but we made several attempts over the weekend searching for this cache, re-reading the hints and logs to see if there was a little gem we were missing, but all to no avail.

15-Jun-13
At the very end of the second stanza. Wont say what the stanzas are... Not related to verse at all but i spent a bit searching for words once i got hooked on the stanza clue. Gps is way out. Like2-3m off.

07-Jun-13
Well found by a determined Smujnz

06-Jun-13
Ah thank heavens for having a wee baby - makes crawling around on all 4s much easier to explain!!!! Easy find, bit trickier to retrieve without getting muggled!

01-Jun-13

I needed to be back at the airport to pick more people up later this evening, but I didn't wanna go too far away, as since it was rush hour, then I didn't know how long it would take me to get back, and neither did I really want to be fighting other cars at that time! So I decided to find caches in this area to pass the time by!! Smile

I had been here once before with my friend when I lived in Auckland. It wasn't too busy a day when we came, but we couldn't find the cache, as there were just far too many options, and we needed to be off.

So this time I knew what the hide would be like, question was, if I could find it!!

I had no shoes on, as I had taken these off at the last cache as they got uncomfortable, and it was warm. There were a few people nearbyish, so I decided to take a seat near the benches to start looking.

Sat on the grass, and then I got an idea. Grabbed my toes, and started roly polying across the grass. I looked like an escaped looney. And I got those stares as though I was. But it worked! Holding onto my toes, I roly polyed around all across the square, giggling every now and then.

Was funny as I saw some guys about my age, maybe a year or 2 younger, and they just pointed and laughed at me! Immature! Lol.
But I spotted the cache!! Waited till the area was all clear then, and then I pulled it out and signed. Smile Oh yeah! Like a boss!!! Found this one!!!!! And nice to do that after a DNF Smile YUS!!! Smile

TFTC!! Smile

I arrived in New Zealand for the first time two days ago for a crazy 3 days of caching. Big Grin
A friend, stairman, and I found a few on the first day on our way south as we had a particular cache in mind for this week-end's adventure. Smile
We achieved the goal (Santa's Surprise) yesterday and now heading north to fly back to Brissy tonight. Cool
Love the countryside. Smile
And now we are finding the last couple before leaving New Zealand. Thanks for a fantastic 3 days. Big Grin
Thanks for the cache.

22-Feb-13
Found tonight with goldielover. No need for the torches though with plenty of light, and no muggles at all to worry us. Took a little bit of searching here before we spotted it. Actually thought the big sculpture thing near by might have been the GZ as we approached.

22-Feb-13
Found with stairman1 while on holidays in New Zealand. There were no muggles around which made it easier for us. Stairman1 quickly found this one.Log is in good order. Thanks for the cache.

21-Feb-13
Looked under quite a few brown benches but still couldn't find. Got a bit light headed so gave up, but will be back when GPS is more charged!

03-Feb-13
I had to get a few caches with specific D/T ratings so that I can qualify for my Provisional Licence and this is one of them.

I had decided that I had to get here early in the morning to avoid the hordes of muggles that would appear later on. Luckily there were only two around and they were busy doing their own thing.

Cheers for the cache.

On Father/Daughter date, waiting for Mother/Son movie to finish so we decided to have a quick look for it.
GPS was bouncing around the place so was my 5yr old. In the end, I had a lovely lie in the sun as there was quite a few muggles about. Next time I will wider the search area or come at an earlier/later time as the son is now keen to locate it.
Hope it is still here!

22-Nov-12
Got it Smile

07-Nov-12
No one around on my early morning visit. Needed longer to search properly. Lots of hiding places and GPS was jumping with 5m accuracy. Another time maybe.

18-Aug-12
Funny thing human nature; a guy searching park benches on a busy Saturday morning is just ignored by all Passersby's. sometimes stealth is not the best policy.

18-Aug-12
[Nabbed during a midnight caching run in the pouring rain in the middle of a lightning storm... awesome timing! Wink

Had previously visited 2 or 3 times but been able to get due muggles and/or my inability to find the bloody thing!! I figured no-one else would be dumb enough to be out and about in this weather, but I get to GZ and there were a couple of muggles sheltering from the storm nearby... [B)]

Thankfully, they moved on pretty quickly and I was able to do a decent search and finally managed to find it!! wooohoo!! Big Grin

like others had issues with the co-ords being a little off...
