Found while touring around the city and suburbs while staying in Hobart for the week. A nice walk along the trail and a great tree at the final location! Thanks for the cache Budgietas.

24-Aug-24
Woo! Found on a wet day.

10-Jun-24
Great hunt along the trail.

18-May-24
Spent the afternoon walk the Linear Park trial from its beginning up to the old Cascade Brewery. I was able to find six caches along the way with only one DNF. I had to work for this one.

24-Mar-24
Found after a hike many thankstb imprint and left AX17 TBWas a good journey and lots of fun. Cheers again.

[8954] Holiday in Tasmania, day 3. Today we enjoyed a varied program. First, we did the Linear Park Walk, afterwards we visited the exciting MONA, then we fed several local animals at the Bonorong Wildlife Sanctuary and when we came back to Hobart we took a stroll at Battery Point quarter before we ended the day with fine seafood. This Geocache was one of those today we could find easily. On the way to the final we spotted several cute Pademelons in the bushes. By the way, 30 min is just one way, so we had to walk fast on the way back to the car because of the running parking meter.TFTC!

06-Jan-24
What a great cache - calculated coordinates put us in the right location and after a look around as per the hint we did indeed locate GZ and an awesome three forked tree! TFTC and the history lesson on the way

29-Dec-23
Enjoyable walking and an impressive final location.

26-Sep-23

20-May-23
My wife and I have flown down from Brisbane to Hobart for a short holiday to use up the last of our remaining flight credits collected during Covid. While my wife enjoyed a sleep in, I headed out bright and early on a rather cool morning to find some geocaches.

I had managed to find the information at the various waypoints along the route and sat in the sun to calculate the final location. My indicated GZ was somewhat off my intended route, but I had plenty of time on my hands so decided to make the detour to find the cache.

Unfortunately I mucked up the calculation of one of the final numbers (a pretty pathetic outcome considering my profession Sad) and spent some time searching an unlikely looking area for a cache. All I managed to achieve was to disturb some of the local wallaby population. Taking another seat I recalculated the numbers and discovered my error. I wasn't actually that far from the real GZ so a few moments later I had spotted the item in the hint and was stamping my name in the logbook. TFTC

A stunning day, for my first full day in Tassie. It’s been absolutely glorious and I’ve loved exploring Hobart via a Geocaching tour guide. This one again had lots of education about history. It is a fairly substantial walk. All was good and final coordinates bang on.
thanks for the budgietas
Also want to add the rivulet that you walk by is gorgeous. I was told to look out for platypus unfortunately didn’t see any.
a couple of guys who were flyfishing and they caught a couple of trout. Is this really a capital city? Wow Hobart, you certainly deliver

19-Feb-23
Our first day in Hobart. After a long flight, we needed to do some walking and to try and adjust to the new time zone. I had read that you might see platypus in this stream, so it was easy to convince my wife this would be a good place to visit. Didn't see any, but it was still a lovely day and I learned some history.

Findin the final took me a little more time than it should I should have checked that spot sooner as once at it, it seemed way likely. My GPS wasn't quite pointing there and spend a lot of time checking smaller beacons. Go with the big one.

16-Jan-23
So pleased to find the prize in the end. A bit more extensive walk than we first thought, but it's only about 20 degrees today, rather than 31.7 yesterday ! This is a walk we've always thought we would like to do sometime. More to explore on another occasion. Thanks Budgietas. All good at GZ.

12-Sep-22
I started at the first waypoint (as everyone does) but way back in 2011. Each time I went to revisit this cache, I always had to start again. I reckon I’ve been to WP1 at least 8 times over the years.
Over the past week, I’ve started yet again but this time made it past the first waypoint.
I managed to screw up some info so I added the info to a personal note on the app. I made it to the second waypoint last Thursday or Friday and collected the info there. I had to go back to work after that.
Today, armed with the location of the third waypoint, I power walked to there from work during my lunch break. Quickly get the info and decided to head to the cache. That last bit was slippery and thankfully I didn’t. Hard enough explaining mud on the boots let alone a huge mud spot on the trousers!
Found quickly and logged. Placed back with a little more camouflage on top.
Thanks for the cache Budgie!

28-Jul-22
I did most of this walk along the rivulet a couple of weeks ago, but by the time I got to the actual cache location is was quite dark. I often walk past here, but today I finally stopped to find the actual cache. Easy find and in good condition. TFTC!

12-Jun-22
Thank you

24-Mar-22
Our last find in Tasmania before oldmorty and I head to the airport for our return flight to Sydney.
Thanks to Budgietas for placing this cache for us to uncover.

24-Mar-22
Well we saved the best till last. Frazeydaze and I had time to fill in before our mid afternoon flight back home to Sydney so it was decided a walk was in order. We thoroughly enjoyed this walk beside the rivulet and reading about its past history. Thanks for placing this cache Budgietas. FP awarded.

28-Jan-22
TFTC. Cache and contents in excellent condition.

28-Jan-22

13-May-21
While caching in the area we found your cache along the way.

A great multi, after following the trail we came up with a set of co-ords that worked for us. As we finished it rained so Mr "T" ran back and bought the car back, a little wet I must say! Cache and contents were in good condition.

Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache for our enjoyment.

23-Apr-21
Really enjoyed the walk and the history of the area.
Many thanks.

13-Apr-21
Completed the cache while doing the Rivulet walk Thanks for bringing us to this area.

06-Feb-21
A quick find once I got to gz.
It would have been faster had I don't the calculations correctly the first time.
This one started out with some facts about my three times great grandfather which I enjoyed.

14-Jan-21
Will save for another day... only have limited time

07-Jan-21
Showing a muggle mate just what this geocaching game was today, i picked this multi and a trad at the starting coordinates to explain my favourite hobby.
He was kept well entertained with various pokemoning antics along a path he'd never trod before, while i clumsily worked out the various maths at each waypoint.
Then a quick and easy find at gz, it's always a great surprise finding an original cache and logbook too!!
Thank you budgietas for creating this interesting and informative multi along a great walking trail outta town.
It was raining most of the walk, making it just that little bit more adventurous.
Also found a pathtag in the cache from the flinstone's they put there in january 2019, score!!

01-Jan-21
Happy new year! A nice walk along the rivulet and the first of my goal to find 365 caches this year. It was cool to also learn a bit more about the history of the area!

TFTC Smile

22-Nov-20
Wicked walk. Need to do it again to find a platypus

30-Oct-20
When I saw that Tasmania was about to re-open its borders, I made arrangements straight away to fly to Hobart from Adelaide to catch up with family and friends (and of course, to find a few caches).

I arrived last night and headed out early this morning for a day of caching.

I had visited the starting coordinates and calculated the next waypoint on my last trip to Tasmania, but didn't have time to progress any further then. Today I was able to visit each of the subsequent waypoints and complete the cache, although I did take the option of driving where I could between the access points to the waypoints on account of a knee injury I am currently carrying.

Its a nice area and a good little multi.

Thanks Budgietas for the cache.

27-Aug-20
My first multi cache. Really enjoyed it. Did over a few days as I had a thing for work in town. Tftc.

05-Feb-20
This one's been a work in progress and we've been chipping away at it for almost a year! I tend to walk along the rivulet once or twice a week but always with muggles so it's not my first choice to go when I'm alone or with Mrs H! Well this afternoon I had an hour to kill between work and a function so decided to finish it off. A nice easy find at GZ and enjoyed collecting the information over the months. TFTC!
Cheers,
The Hancock Clan

23-Jan-20
A nice multi which showed us parts of Hobart we wouldn't have otherwise visited, then upwards to the Female Factory and Cascade Brewery.

31-Dec-19
I have been eyeing this Multi off for some time. Assuming doing it would lead me upstream, i saved it for today, wanting to walk up to the Cascade Brewery after the final

Worked out all the WP's and made my way to the final which was within 5m of my GPS' result. Fairly accurate given the tree cover

This was a very enjoyable and easy MultiCache to do filled with most interesting info on Hobart's past so I'm offloading a Favourite Point for how well its constructed, the history lesson and of course that lovely scenery

SL at 10:18 on the record-breaking hot day of Monday 30 December 2019

Took the KFC "Hopes" Cricketer and left some $ for him as i was out of Swag

09-Nov-19
This will be a cache for another day and time as the weather is not so generous atm and time of day precludes having a stroll along the track looking for clues. Hopefully get to it in the ney year.

05-Nov-19
Melbourne Cup day and the bananas are 'UP' to no good.
You see our tree climb treasure looks directly down on GZ.
Time has been kind to the container after many years of endurance testing as it is in perfect condition.
Might just have to make it a stage of a Multiple Hunt.
But not this trip!
Perhaps next time.....

10-Oct-19
Hi Budgietas loved your multi, clear concise instructions brilliant wander along a very scenic trail which I have never been on. Wandered down to pick up Blackwood Garden and then wandered up stopping at each waypoint to learn some of the history. A great history trail, great day Thursday and a lovely hill walk to GZ. But I do need to come clean wandered past GZ up the hill as my android GPS was wandering about like it had been trousered and trolleyed lol. Hint came in very handy eventually and all nice and dry at GZ, Thanks for a lovely wander FP given.

22-Sep-19
While Mrx was bought over here to train I got to check some of the lovely spots in Hobart. What a lovely walk along the river here. I really stuffed the numbers but finally got there and enjoyed it all. Thanks for bringing me here Budgietas

19-Sep-19
In Hobart for a week. I don’t normally do multis because of the time factor. We were having a later start this morning so I went for a walk while the others slept in!! Had a bit of time left so did this. A lovely walk along the rivulet reading signs and getting numbers. A real workout at the end tho made more difficult because I climbed up to the wrong 3 forked tree!!! Eventually found the right one and was happy to get a smilie. TFTC.

22-Apr-19
Thanks for my first and successful multi! It was a very nice and easy enough. I had a lot of fun finding it.

Found finally today after some years getting the instalments. No great hurry. Take the family often on this track, have collected info over time and had GZ in my GPS for some months. Cache in good condition. Finally logged today.

A nice evening walk do some more caching in Hobart in the area we stayed.
Had started this trail the other day but no time to retrieve the final so I was haply I could finish it before we left.

Saw my first Pademelon at GZ wasn't sure how common they were at the time and quite happy to have seen one. But the. Saw a few more on the way back down.
Thank you Budgietas for putting the cache out and maintaining it.

28-Nov-18
Out Geocaching while in port for the day off the cruise ship Carnival Legend. Thanks for this great multi and the history lesson that came with it. Left TB. TFTC

With Robin (and the Friar a bit) on a bit of a mario kick we set off to find Luigi. As the last entry was a dnf some time ago we had pretty low hopes but, lo and behold we found both the cache and Luigi!

Following the Linear Park Walking Trail from my backpackers to the brewery. A nice walk with lots of information and a couple of caches to be found. The final coords seemed to be pretty reasonable and near GZ my geosenses awoke. The hint made me not bushbash but finding the hide almost instantly. Going back to the main track I saw a wallaby.
Thanks a lot Budgietas for the nice multi and the hide!

11-Mar-17
This was my first time trying a multi cache and had quite a bit of fun doing it. TFTC

20-Nov-16
Beautiful afternoon for a walk so the GeoGSP and I headed off along this trail to see what we could find. There were lots of birds which kept the GeoGSP entertained, and despite lots of muggles out and about today, was able to collect all the required information and locate the cache with no trouble. Cache is nice and dry and in good condition. Thanks for the cache Budgietas.

19-Aug-16
With the first waypoint out of action due to overdue park works, I thought I might be able to do this in reverse, finding the last waypoint, getting some numbers , finding the second waypoint , getting done numbers and then doing some complex back working deductions to get all the numbers I had a viable GZ and found the cache quickly. An interesting river with a rich and varied history , thanks for the multi, the kind of multi I like -showing cachers something they would never have known about -, fav point Smile

13-Jun-16
Bottom part of the track is currently closed for renovations.

07-May-16
This was a nice walk along the rivulet. Have not been here before, that's what I love about geocaching, exploring new places. Solved the maths and found the cache easy enough. TFTC

31-Mar-16
Caching in the city isn't my favourite hobby; most of the time it's too crowded and there's too many Muggles around. So I tend to find those caches that aren't that city-like. I started with this one and there were loads of Muggles passing me during the maths I had to take. Talked a little with a local that was walking his dog and continued. Found the cache in the end, really quickly. I decided to leave the TB that I had with me since Launceston. I'm leaving Tasmania the day after tomorrow and the description said it wanted to travel around Tasmania first, so there it goes.

Thanks for showing and hiding!

17-Mar-16
TFTC Budgietas. This was a lunchtime amble for me today, and I reckon the temperature went up about 5 degrees, on it's way to 28 this afternoon. A nice multi with history, scenery, and a most pleasant setting. THANKS!
#192 @ 1300hrs Thu 17th Mar 2016 - Happy St Patricks Day.

11-Feb-16
Had located the first WP some weeks ago. Today we were in the area so completed the trail and found all of the history. Eventually finished off in an area we knew fairly well but now know even better.

25-Dec-15
Travelling around Australia and spending a few months in Tasmania.

Now staying in Campania, we woke to a warm Christmas Day. We packed Xmas ham sandwiches for lunch and headed into Hobart CBD with the GeoBikes.

Very pleased to tackle these caches by bike today when the streets were pretty quiet. Don't think it will be the same in this area for the next week at least. Wink

Glad we were on the bikes but boy those hills still got us today in the heat. Enjoyed collecting the info and then Mr Felix did the last hill to GZ on his own.

With the bananas in town it was time to test the legs.
You see there was some unloved on top of the mountain that not even a relative who owns less than 100 meters away know the name.
It was time to explore.
And with a sea to peak and return this one was in line.
Well 25 kilometers of walking climbing and decending, this one was found.
And there was a cricketer inside.
The bananas thought they knew their cricketers but this character was an unknown.
Can anyone please identify him.
This has gone into the watch list. Or don't people read logs anymore.

03-Feb-15
Thanks for brining me back to this park I used to walk regularly whilst at Uni, fav point from me

15-Jan-15
[Wasn't planning on doing this one today but ended up coming out this way to get some tacos and thought 'what the heck, I'm already here and there's an hour or two of daylight left, might as well give it a shot.
I have walked part of this track before (as far as the leather/tanneries signboard), it really is a long park, isn't it! The walk took a me a bit longer than it should have] - when the path split I took the low road when I should've taken the high one. "It's up there, isn't it. D'oh!" [
Geez that is one well hidden cache, the light was beginning to fade and I thought I was going to have to come back another day to make the find but after a more thorough investigation of one spot the cache was finally uncovered at 8:40pm. With the light now fading fast was a bit wary of walking back through a long park alone so returned to the beginning via Anglesea and Macquarie streets.
Took the bouncy ball, left an eraser, a 'frozen' troll and New Beetle travelbug which I picked up in Melbourne.
Thanks for the history lesson and an enjoyable walk Smile ]

This was the perfect night for a walk along the trail - besides, I had to do something to work off tonight's excesses. Wink

Even in the dark it was a very pleasant walk and there were several pademelons (well, I assume they were) along the way to really add to the experience. Eventually, all relevant clues were found and I was on my way to GZ where a short search in the darkness had me with the stash in hand at 22:00.

A great walk and a great experience = a great fave point for you. Big Grin

TNLNSL, although our night cache geocoin had a visit to mark the occasion. Thanks Budgietas.

21-Aug-14
Nice walk in the park TFTC TNLN GREAT DAY FOR ME AND CACHING log sight damp but still usable

14-Jul-14
We had previously walked part of this track but not the last section of this multi. A bit of huffing and puffing (pretty unfit these days) and then we were at GZ. The hint resulted in a quick find. Great to see the rivulet in such good condition and the signage makes the walk so interesting. Thank you for this one. Budgietas.

Found in conjunction with Sparklellama and family. The young ones worked out the clue pretty fast! TFTC, took Street Beanz, left stegosaurus.

25-Feb-14
I had walked parts of this track before, but had never been along the track near GZ. Thanks for bringing me here - it made for a couple of nice lunch time strolls... Once at GZ the location became very clear, and then moments later I had it! TNLNSL...

09-Feb-14
A beautiful day for a walk up here while the kids rode their bikes. Information easily obtained but we were struggling towards the end in 30 degrees. Happily found GZ and enjoyed the downhill run back to the car. TFTC

27-Jan-14
On my first day in Tasmania we had some time to discover Hobart. Due to the hot temperatures I was glad to find this cache most part in the shadow. Thank you for showing this park (I believe not many visitors find this) and the cache.
Greetings from Germany

17-Oct-13
The Bear decided to head out for a lunchtime walk and decided this cache might well be on the cards. Besides the wind, the sun was out it was a most enjoyable walk along the Linear Park Track. Once near GZ, the hint was spied and after a short scramble over sodden ground, the cache was retrieved. TFTC TNLNSL.

Finally. Thanks for the help Budgietas. Seems my writing is that bad mistake 8 for 6 which screws up the math a bit. Out by 0.1 minutes on the easting. TFTC

Great cache. We needed to fill in some time on Sunday afternoon and this was perfect. Thank you Budgietas for a clear and interesting cache. Geokid loved it all.

21-Apr-13
After a few dead ends walking up from the docks we finally found the entrance to the linear park. Its a great walk and area which we didn't know existed.
Thoroughly enjoed the multi and the walk.
Thanks Budgietas. Took one of the TBs.

18-Mar-13
I just found the cache Blackwood Garden and I was doubting whether I head enough time for this one or not. I decided to go for it. It should be my first multi cache in Tasmania! After about 45 minutes of looking for the answers and the right signs I arrived at the cache's hiding place. It was quite obvious where to look for it!!
I had a great walk along this little river when finding all the necessary answers to find GZ! Thank you for this nice cache and, of course, for the nice walk.

I was glad to finish this cache today having started it many months ago but running out of time on the day.
So back in the area as its was annoying seeing the little unfound icon on the map, having not long dropped Mrs SSR off at work i walked past lots of people making their way to work, I must say they have a very nice commute.

So finding all the needed information and working out the final coords it was a quick find and the cache was soon signed and replaced.

Thanks for the cache

I started walking this trail yesterday in the heat and finished it today in the rain. (I had no problems with graffiti at the leather sign. Looking at dreapadoir's photo the graffiti has already been cleaned up.)

I'm visiting a couple of travellers before dropping them at Melbourne Airport (Tulla Time).

After 6 years of caching I'm still able to achieve personal firsts: today will be the first time I've logged finds on caches in three different states (Tasmania, Victoria and South Australia).

Thanks for a pleasant walk along the Hobart Rivulet, a history lesson and the cache Budgietas.

17-Feb-13
This is another cache that had been sitting in my unfounded list for way too long. A lovely stroll in the shade gathering the clues, but the final stage was a bit warm today Smile. Found easily. Thanks for the cache

25-Jan-13
We came out for a walk even though it started to rain, it was very pleasant. We enjoyed all the history and seeing and tasting some of the local fruit trees. We enjoyed getting all the clues and somehow this time I didn't make any calculation mistakes as I usually do when doing a multi like this. Liked the hide for this cache.

After finding Signal Box, this was next on the list on a lovely spring day! Cool
Although the level in the rivulet was up, the water was a little too murky to see any of the little fish that call this stream home. Sad
It really didn't matter though, as all the waypoints added up nicely for an easy find ! Big Grin
Thanks for the cache, Budgietas ! Big Grin
