After a really nice walk down the track which has dereriorated in places, i headed briefly into light bush for the find. The log was dry, a bonus after all the rain. Thanks for an excellent hide on the way to the weir.
On way to Capital GeoBash Mega in Canberra this afternoon. Stopped in Berrima for a bite. Gotta burn it off by geocaching, TFTC
Never been down to the weir so a visit with friends & dogs was the time to grab this cache. Cache in good nick but the bag was ruined so removed it.

While driving from Canberra to Sydney I stopped in Berrima to have my lunch and a short break. I was intending to go for a different cache, but when I got close to its GZ I decided I wasn't dressed for the occasion. I then headed down to the Wingecarribee River and I'm reasonably certain I saw a platypus. Unfortunately with bad glare from the sun and lack of time I wasn't able to hang around to see if and where it would re-surface. I followed the tracks to GZ for this cache and quickly made the find. Log stamped and all replaced and I headed back to the car to continue my drive. TFTC.
Went down to the weir. Loved it
Originally went too far almost gave up and bam pretty cool.

Had some friends visiting and they wanted to go for a bush walk. Decided it was the perfect opportunity to collect this cache.
We started are trek towards the weir. Such beautiful scenery. We got to meet a dog called Frank. The geokids were thrilled. Got to the weir and had a bit of a look around before heading to GZ.
My gps was jumping around a little bit and I suggested we try a particular direction. The geokid run to the general location and yelled "found it". Sometimes I wonder if he has an internal tracker for caches.
Log signed and returned. Great day for a search!

We’ve passed the entrance to these tracks so bang times but today we pulled over and went for a walk.
So much water in the weir, it looked great.

I am terribly behind in my logging. It's getting close to five months since I regularly reported on the caches I've found. YIKES! Well, at least I'm currently only a month and a bit behind.
To be honest, while I still find searching for caches fun, I'm finding logging less so. But I have to log to get me stats and souvenirs, so...
In this time only the Adventure Labs found and my First2Finds have been written up - don't want people racing out when it's already been snaffled.
But I've been busy finally getting ready to move into our new house - now in and I'm still coming to terms with the extra room/rooms!
But I did still try to find time to cache on the days that my 2022 goal of 16 finds per caching day demanded I find something. In fact, for the most part my modus operandi has been to actually aim for 20. So far I've only failed on that a few times, and only by 1 find. Amazingly I'm on track for 19 finds per day, but somehow I expect that will eventually prove too hard as I have to travel a good distance if I want more than a cache a day.
Anyway. thanks to all the CO's who are getting short shrift from my generic logs. I hope to eventually get back to them and flesh them out, but no promises.
I've found some fun Traditionals and solved some interesting, but not impossible puzzles. And Multis and other cache types have been grabbed where possible.
###END OF GENERIC ABJECT GROVELLING SECTION###
Down the Hume to the Southern Highlands for today's cache plunder. Got twelve but was quite disorganised and ended up backtracking here and there. Typical me!
###END OF CUT AND PASTE SECTION###
Any cache specific comments will be added here. Don't hold your breath, though.

Lovely little walk to the cache. Cache soon in hand, first to find this year, yeah! TFTC and lovely sound of the water nearby.
On a road trip to South Coast from Sydney, stopping at Berrima for lunch. Quick find thanks to the accurate coords.
Now off to try and find my Berrima nemesis! "What me quarry", 3 DNF when here last year.
But later found it has gone missing
Hopefully better luck today.
Thanks for maintaining the cache

Streak day 64.
Below is a blurb about us.
We are trying to get a badge from Project-GC for writing found log files of 100 words or more. Once we get this badge we will stop writing this. We are also trying to get badges for adding photos to our found logs.
We Started caching in December 2019 and by January 2020 we were hooked. As we are on the road full time (living in a caravan), caching fits in well with this lifestyle. It is taking us to places that we would normally not have gone.
When we move to a new place we also look at what caches are in the area and how many days we will need to be there to get the caches we want.

I had one child at a cub camp in Berrima and another doing a canoeing course in the Kangaroo Valley, so my wife and I stayed in Moss Vale for a weekend of caching. A quick find after a nice little walk. Thanks The Bushies.
The Bushies I found your cache "Berrima Weir" on 30/12/18, 10:21 am. This is my find 2217 and find # 4 today. Beautiful location, the geodog had a chance to cool down. Went the hard way until I found the cache and realised there was an easier way in. Thanks for the cache! TNSLLN
Needing some numbers for an end of year tally, targeted four more of the Highland trails and, with a few extras in the area, knocked off 62 smileys in today’s heatwave. At least most GZs were within a few metres of the car’s aircon… but not here! Having bypassed this one a number of times for various reasons in the past, despite today’s heat, I was adamant to clear Berrima of my last two (currently) remaining icons. A few clouds and shady trees took the bite out of the sun but hearing the sound of people cooling off in the weir, it was very tempting to join them. Ran into CO by chance later in the day and was happy to report cache in good condition and an easy find within a few meters of posted co-ords.
Chasing a goal for the new year we stopped off to claim the smile after completing near by trails. After a quick smile to the near by camera we set off for GZ. Walk down wasn't too bad despite the heat, coming back however was another story. The nearby splashing of the water was calling but alas there were still more smiles to claim.

What a location for a cache! Huge thanks for bringing me here and placing this cache! Loved every minute of it. Before finding the cache I went down to the weir and had a look, a very impressive weir! Snapped a photo and went into the bush for the cache. On return I spotted a brick building and decided to go explore. Luckily I did because what I found was really cool and made this walk even more special! An old toilet block, with only one single toilet! It was falling to pieces too, I uploaded some photos to go with my log. This place must of been a popular spot back in the day, but looks like the toilet block and area has been untouched for a long time.
Thanks Bushies, heres a favourite point for bringing me here

**The Day:**
Day 1 of an extended weekend caching trip, and a family member's 50th up in Sydney!
Started off from Canberra at 7am and reached my accomodation in Moss Vale at 6pm. Then cached for another hour between 7-8pm! Today consisted of a few short stops to grab new + missed caches on the way to the Southern Highlands region, and then a big sweep of country roads and towns, picking up every cache I could and using some specific caches to guide me around. Visited some excellent locations today and also found some very creative caches! Found a total of 78 caches for the day!
Thanks to all the CO's! See individual log about each cache above ^^

#4392 Happy International Geocaching Day ! I was heading up to Sydney and hopped to stop off in Berrima to grab some caches before the weather closed in. THe wind and rain chased me all the way from Canberra to about Marulan before it petered out, but I knew I did not have much time.
I pulled up to this one and wondered if I'd be able to make the 490m walk down the path & back before the rain came. I took the chance and walked briskly down to gz and made it just as the rain started. The cache took a little bit of finding. Grab a quick pic & headed back up the path into increasingly heavy rain. But wonderful spot.
Thanks The Bushies for showing me this place.

Took the trail to the weir, then checked in the bush. Quick grab in a nice area. TFTC
Given how dry its been, there was a surprising amount of water flowing at the weir. Another nice spot on our exploration of Berrima.

Out Caching with Team Lewin on an overcast Saturday morning around Berrima and Moss Vale areas. Your cache was among 20 plus caches that we found today. I thought that I would share a geocaching poem with you that I wrote a few months back. I hope that you enjoy the poem as much as I enjoyed finding this cache.
Geocache Poem
By DARKSIDEDAN
My endless search goes on and on
Looking for treasures of every kind
Always chasing just one more find
Putting past DNF’s out of my mind
I step out into the world outside,
Seeking what is hidden from me
What size, shape or form will it be?
Only time will tell, I can’t wait to see
Will I find my prize at the end?
I will search in the failing light and cold
Filling with despair having looked everywhere
Where is this thing that gives my life pleasure?
Looking all around from every angle
I read the logs and check the hint
I curse out loud as I walk in circles
Screaming the bloody thing it not there
As time flies by and I fail to see,
Never once stopping to realize
It always been there before my eyes
No need for sorrow, there’s the Geocache
Thanks again for the cache.

Who knew there was a weir here?! Have say I prefer the river below in its natural state to that above.
My phone was bouncing all over the place (an all too common occurrence since I updated the ap!) but the clue helped enormously. I could add "vertical and hirixontal@.

OMG! OMG! OMG! Its a cache that hasn't been found for 6mth+..........please still be there......pleeeeeeeeeeeeease.
Previous log was a DNF but after reading that Halcyon123 abandoned the search because of the munchkins, I headed in. It was raining, I was already wet but the prospect of finding this after soooo long was too tempting.
Parked the Geo4bee at the gate and walked in. Followed the track almost to the water but then the GPS told me to veer off. Hmmm.....that's interesting, no wet rocks or bush bashing required. In fact, I found the cache a mere 10m off a well established road.
Signing duties done, cache replaced and a little happy dance complete with a silent prayer of thanks to Halcyon, I headed back to my car. Yippeeeeeeee!

Dnf for us today. Made it down to the weir but the bush trek we seemed to have to tackle next, along rocks, was a bit much for me to tackle with the 6 and 3 year old geokids. Very pretty spot- will be back!
Nice little walk to gz. some fisherman in the area, but don't think they even saw us. Thanks for bringing us to the weir. And TFTC

Previously logged under team account BoogieRogue. Re-logging with my individual account. This was a rather eventful find. As we were approaching GZ, a couple was getting really amorous with each other on the side of the trail . Quick find after the intermezzo.
Fairly easy find, GPS was going a bit crazy for a few minutes while doing the search.
Beautiful spot and plenty of water going over with the rainstorm we had last night.
Staying over night a the Scout Camp for the weekend with a bunch of Scouts.

Found with four other Canberra cachers. Noikmeister made the find. Nice to stretch the legs and get some fresh air after the 90-minute drive from Canberra. This was the first cache of the day for me. For all of us, I think.
There was something strange about the area. It was weired. [Hi hi hi hiiii! This awesome pun was included in this log at no extra cost.]
After taking an unexpected detour to Berrima earlier this year, I have now deliberately visited the town twice in the past two months. I love it! And today was another beautiful day. The Southern Highlands was gearing up for a big spring, showing off its wares and tempting passersby. See if I can make it make again in September or October.

ZQX, Fox in Jox, Noikmeister, DogBoyOz & I on a days caching in the Southern Highlands, aiming for some specific caches. This was the first stop of the day after an early start. It was good to get out and stretch the legs. Once at GZ, the 5 of us spread out and the cache was soon found. An impressive, substantial weir - thanks for bringing us here. TFTC.

Today was a Southern Highlands road trip with four other ACT cachers: Noikmeister, DogBoyOz, TikvaNZ and ZQX. Lots of fun, lots of walking and plenty of good DT stars.
This was the first for the group. Parked and enjoyed the stroll to GZ. Once there, we spread out and NM came up with the goods. Really nice area. TFTC

Out and about with Happy Uke again today.
This was a beautiful spot. Saw a couple of people fishing in the weir. Not sure what for. I have seen carp in the river.

Had a great afternoon clearing up Berrima and then doing the Joadja series. Missed out on last one due to failing light. They were all good caches for Finalf29 to practice using his new GPS. Wonderful arvo, fantastic company and excellent caches! Eleven from eleven.
This was my second for the day. Lovely walk down...ok bit of a puff back up. Easy find and then a stop and look at the weir...beautiful little structure. My brother, during the 80's, would come down here with friends and ride the wave in their polo bats, when they released the water to flush the creek down stream. I think he was mad looking at all those exposed sharp rocks. Thanks for the walk...we need to get fitter.

Thanks for bringing us to this lovely spot. The weir was quite popular today as a few people were picnicking there. Loved the hint TFTC.
Visiting from QLD and found this one while out on a MTB ride. Spent my early years leaving in Berrima and this place brings back so many memories. Spent a lot of time down at the weir and even water skied in this part of the river. I remember Noel, a hermit who lived on the river not far from here. Thanks for the memories SL TNLN TFTC

The 2nd visit to this cache today. Found late in the day after a nice walk in Berrima earlier. This one has been on the to do list for a while and it is a lovely spot so I should have got it earlier. TNLN. TFTC
I found this cache as a joint part of “Team” *Throsbyonchurch* and in which name the log book was signed. I now have my own account as I’m old enough to cache myself, so I am claiming a fair share of my earlier finds. As I had no caching name at the time there's no log in the book for me but I’m claiming the find under team ToC. Thank you for the hide.
Found at 3.30pm by Geo-Georg, a second before spotted by Geo-dad! Nice walk, gave us all a great workout - I'm wrecked after that walk, but shows I need to walk more. Had been going to come down to the weir for a look over school holidays, but never quite got here, one thing and another. What a lovely spot. I have a water phobia, so I am quite surprised that it didn't bother me too much, I guess it helps having family along too. I suspect the phobia comes after my head was held underwater by kids in a bore pool at Lightening Ridge when I was a tot. So finally we are here thanks to starting geocaching, and most especially to The Bushies for your cache. Muggles here who had disappeared before our locate. Geo-baby along for the ride. TNLN. SL. Found this one with Storky after a reconnaissance visit of the local Scout Camp down by the river.
Enjoyed the walk down to the weir. There was a 'local ?' nearby who looked like he was panning for gold but not having any success as far as I could tell. There were lots of broken branches on the track from all the recent heavy snowfall which had closed the Hume Highway. Cache was in good condition,
Thanks Bushies for another great location,. Looking forward to finding more of your great locations.

Nice walk down to the weir. After the last lot of weather we have had here deep ruts have formed and many fallen trees to dodge, go under or over. Checked out the weir and then hubby and I continued on our hunt.
Once again, nice clues from the Bushies!
Cache container in good order. Did a swap, returned the cache and continue on our way.

What a great spot to visit, an easy walk in and an easy find. Lots of water flowing over the weir and looks like a LOT more has been over recently.
My dad wanted to go fishing at the dam so I tagged along to go geocaching and found this pretty quick. Tftc
Agree with others that it needs new plastic bag for the log book

14 of 19 today on my Bowral, Moss Vale, Sutton Forrest, Berrima, Mittagong loop!
From 8:30 - 6:00. Day well spent [^]
I think I did the same thing as a previous cacher.
Parked up at house with white fence-line. Luckily there was a fallen tree on barbed-wire fence. Go bush for a bit. Then on the track.
Cheers anyway!

All is well!! Found on its almost 3 year anniversary (which was yesterday). Thank you Geohusband for indulging me!
Found by Mary & David at 1105. Enjoyed the walk in from the road. Saw many rosellas. We could hear the water coming over the weir, which looked very peaceful. A pleasant cool breeze off the water. No problems with the cache. Our thanks to The Bushies.
Yet another of those out of the way spots we would never have visited if it wasn't for geocaching. Good hide. TFTC.
Well, it was that time again, GEOMISSION WITH SPECIMENX time. Todays target, a return to the Southern Highlands to make some more finds in the area. The weather was mostly overcast with a few showers - perfect caching weather for us specimenX was the responsible driver for the day so we ensured we had plenty of breaks and I kept her topped up with "Mother" cans With about 17.5 hours of caching racked up, god only knows how many km's travelled and about 40 finds under the belt, we were satisfied and got home at about 4am in the morning for a much earned sleep. [|)] [^]
Today we were trialling a Garmin Montana 650t that I was borrowing from a friend in preparation for the massive power trails in SA for the Oz Mega SA event at Easter. I must say, I have been very impressed so far with the 650t and the ability to coordinate our routes by road to get the best directions to the caches. I think I will be investing into one of these soon
The GPS took us down a dirt track pretty close to the GZ. We had to walk about 200m which was a nice stroll after the recent sprinkle of rain, it smelt awesome here. The wandering along here also provoked some talk about a cache we were going to try to get to (which we didn't end up having time to collect) over at the Belanglo State Forest. Gave us the creeps just discussing it. Anyways, I spotted the cache from a distance and we completed logging duties. Followed the kangaroo tracks out and made our way back to the geomobile to continue our travels.
Thanks for the nice find The Bushies
Today we were trialling a Garmin Montana 650t that I was borrowing from a friend in preparation for the massive power trails in SA for the Oz Mega SA event at Easter.
