Scrambled around and up further than needed before spotting this one .Has been on the radar for years as we drive past ! Thanks
I headed out today on a little recon for a potential trip up Mount Taylor. I stopped for a few caches on the drive from Christchurch and thoroughly enjoyed the scenery. Now the focus of the recon trip was to confirm the drive and hiking trail to Mount Taylor which is the current home to the highest geocache on the South Island. I had an awesome day on the trail and would like to thank all the COs for doing an amazing job of placing and maintaining their geocaches. TFTH and fun!
Tftc. Mountain goat dad found this one and a gecko for the kids under the rock
Heading out towards Lake Heron for a look.
Arrived nearby, despite having an AWD vehicle, the road was quiet, so I pulled off and walked down... hmm where could it be... About 2m away from where I climbed to have a look, cool!
TFTC N!mrod, the cache was found in good order Signed, sealed and returned to GZ. 2 find(s) of 5 today, making this find #3315

As we approached the bridge I knew we had looked for a cache here before and didn't find it. I was right on 1/11/15 ! We had another look and this time I was pretty sure I could see the hiding place from where I was standing. The coords were spot on. M climbed the small distance and found the cache right here I directed him. An easy find.
On a caching trip inland with Coconut3. A quick stop here and a short clamber and the cache was duly signed and returned. Thanks for the hide!

I was a bit tired after my earlier adventure, but I could not help stopping here for a look. And it turned out to work well as I looked before starting to clamber all over! The position while signing the log gave my calves a good stretch, too. Thanks for a fun experience! TFTC!!
Thanks nimrod the next person to look for this could take some more log paper with them it’s nearly full, great spot
We were on our way to Lake Clearwater to camp overnight. Did a 4x4 trip up the Clyde and Lawrence rivers for the weekend. Stopped here to find this cache. Interesting climbing as been raining so grass slippery but added to the giggles and adventure. Thanks for putting a cache here N!mrod.
Had a look on one spot but couldn't find. Went to a completely different spot for an instant find
I thought it might be fun to head out towards Lake Heron today.
I couldn't leave my finds in single digits today so found this one on the way back to my snail shell
Cheers for the cache.

Cheers for the cache.
We'd come up this way to try for a FTF on the new cache at Manuka Hut. Sadly it was a DNF instead.
The next part of the plan was try for a few other caches around Lake Heron, then camp up for the night and do a spot of fishing. It was nice camping here, though the fishing resulted in another DNF
Those caches we *did* find, such as this one, we signed BRN (Bo& bronnie, Rincewind3, and NotManlyJack). Even the ones Bo found years ago!
We went straight to the obvious crevice here, and straight to... well, nothing really.
Then we read a previous log so moved right. Still nothing. Maybe the other side? Yup, here it is! Thanks for yet another cache N!mrod, and sorry for the cut and paste portion of the logs (needs must).

Found with Sir Belac after a night in at Manuka Hut. I expected to need to go higher, went to take a step up and put my hand on it. Thanks N!mrod

Today we made a trip to Mt. Sunday. On the way we searched, found and logged all other caches, too. The weather was fine, not too warm, a little bit cloudy, and in the mountains there was a heavy wind.
Almost no muggels could be seen there - but a lot of beautiful landscape and snow covered mountains.
Thanks to N!mrod for showing us this location and for the fun we had at Ashburton Gorge. The search we had here today didn't take too much time.
Greetings from Germany and hope to see you soon in the forest.

Was looking in wrong spot, then slight over to the right there it is waving at me. Nice
Found with StreetWalker on an Easter weekend trip to the Mt Somers area, and beyond.
We stopped here on the way back to Mt Somers, where we were staying. SW told me to stand back, while he climbed (in case he dislodged some rocks) and we both spotted the cache at the same time. Now to head to our accommodation for a shower and dinner after a most enjoyable day exploring the area. TFTC.

#15402. Last find of an enjoyable day spent exploring the Ashburton Lakes / Mount Sunday area. I was in the process of climbing higher than I needed to when I looked down and spotted a flash of colour (at the same time as Troodles spotted the cache from below). TFTC.
Have driven past this many a day and today while out with Geomum007, I got the smiley. Nice area. TFTC
Did a stopover in my bike tour of the south island, now sunny and nice. Staying at the holiday park at Mt Somers. TFTC.
I was visiting the Hakatere area for work, so took the opportunity to pick up a few of the caches around the area. Took a little bit of finding to get this one, as my GPS initially pointed me to what looked to be the obvious feature in the hint. After some fruitless searching, I backed off and then followed the GPS right to the GZ with a very easy find. *TFTC N!mrod#162*
Last one for today back to mt somers now for an ice cream and a cold drink then back home just in time to get some tea sorted. A nice quick find and after climbing up alot further than I had to I spotted it as I was on my climb down so it worked out quite good that I had gone the extra bit higher. tftc found with chiko1
A sight to behold with Mrs W half way up the face. I just had to shout instructions. Nice one. Thanks Fr.
Earlier in the week I had planned a trip out to Lake Heron for a family 'Fathers Day' adventure, but when I saw a few new puzzles out this way I changed direction - and we continued out to Mt Sunday to climb it again. Blowing a gale out on the plains but nice and sheltered as we headed up the valley. Forecast was naff, the cloud had lowered and the valley further up was dark grey and clagged in.....After the wet but fun climb of Mt Sunday we had some lunch, grabbed a couple more caches then headed on out to find an icecream. Stopped here on the way out. Nice one. Cheers.
A quick grab on the way back down the valley, so many choices but like the highlander, there can be only one! Cheers
Two great days in the CV at lake Heron last week. Cool but calm. Spectacular!! Cache a tad exposed so re covered. Tftc
Missed on the way up the valley, all good on the way down. Cheers.
West Coast or Geraldine for the weekend? No chains for the car so Geraldine it is.
Thanks to the CO's for the hides. Cheers.

Had a good look but nothing happening. It is a while since this was last found and we weren't sure if we needed to climb.
Found with Dotti&bobbi after heading up Mt sunday/monday and area grabbed this on the way back. nice easy find tftc

On the way back from mount Potts, had to look closely to work out which crevice Cheers

We came out this was to do a tackle on Mt Taylor over show weekend - decided that it seemed like a good place to go! And some awesome looking caches!!
We left out from the hut early on Saturday morning, thus leaving a bit of time to get all these lonely caches round here for a challenge.
This one was a quick find once we got in close enough to see - just there was a few places to peer through first.
And jandals? Hmm... not exactly ideal footwear!! Lol...

A day out with Mrs Nofs. A couple of nice walks, a coffee or two and a few caches - something for everyone. Thanks.
Before we begin the (what turned out to be slightly perilous) drive to Lake Clearwater, we thought we would stop for the final cache of the day. A hop, skip and a jump down to the GZ and, give or take a few minutes, the cache was found! Thanks.
A quick find in the drizzling rain. Nice to see a little wet in the area. On our way to Christchurch after a great 10 days in the Canterbury region fishing. TNLN TFTC SL
Quick find with Flynnsworth in the drizzle. Placement looked a little tenuous when we located it but seemed to hold there OK with a bit of help from extra camo. Many thanks, N!mrod. Really enjoyed a visit to this spectacular district and can't wait to come back and explore further one day.
Quick find as I made my way up the valley. For others just watch out for the rusty fence wire in the grass as you near GZ.
The GPS has issues with the steep walls of the rocks. After a false start and an encounter with prickly plants, we managed to find the cache. Very cool spot.
Was in a dicey spot, wind threatening to expose and destroy the cache. Tried to fix a few rocks around it, hopefully will help
For some reason I couldn't seem to see this a couple of weeks ago; better geocaching eyes today!
This is my 10th "lonely" cache for the challenge. TFTC.

Nice spot thanks. The GPS was a bit unstable near the site so I sighted it from further back which worked well.
An easy find once I worked out which direction the gps believed north was (huh?, surely we're heading south westish?). Spotted the spot from 5m out. Not really a climb, although Mr Bairdy had to restrain a young Bairdy from following me up. TFTC SL
With Muggle Friends in tow,we came for a look see around this area.Neat Cache Container. Thanks for bringing us here to find a Cache.
It was pretty amazing driving up here and has whetted my appetite for more searching in this area!
Thanks
