Well, after 65 people favourited this cache, it only took one lot of muggles who obviously didn't like it to smash it to pieces, so we'll send this letterbox to the big post office in the sky. Twisted
Hopefully we can resurrect it in a new location away from bored mindless muggles. Smile

11-Jul-13
We'll disable this one temporarily.

So much for a vandal proof letterbox! Thanks Mick for the heads up

Found but smashed by muggles. No lock, no log and swappables all about the place. I couldnt clean it up as I was on my bike, but tucked the rubbish away as well as I could. Looks like someone is targeting geocaches in this area........

Thanks skullracing. Left a cute little TB as well. Please keep it moving.

Just realised we hadn't logged this one. What a shame to see it is no longer in action. This was one of the very first caches we found and a huge favourite for our family. Inspired us to create our own series of kid-friendly caches.

Hope it is back in action soon.

18-May-13
Great for the kids.

Back in town for a visit with my parents after having last been here a year ago, and today is caching day. [^] Out and about early and next up was this one. A lovely little spot, and I hoped to see some native wildlife, but all I heard were some Galahs somewhere nearby. No postman's whistle, but I did see the letterbox quickly enough, but now to get the mail? Just open the lock hey? Hmmm, good thing I know the answerWink[^] Made use of the resident stamp to leave my mark and sign my name. Cheers.

Greetings from Brisbane. Thanks for placing this cache, skullracing. Found in good condition.

On another trip up the Hume to visit family in Sydney and gather a few caches along the way. They keep popping up which is a good thing for frequent travelers of this highway.
This is my seventh mailbox after eight years caching so they are fairly rare and great to see a couple up this way.
I own two down in Geelong and in the process of placing another in Torquay.
This cache in my mind is well placed and well thought out and is in excellent condition.
Thanks skullracing for placing this cache.

Found 9:48am , find # 1730
Today we had a sight seeing day around Albury, combined with caching. Well, rather we had a caching day which lead us to see lots of the local sights.
This cache was number find # 1 of 15 for the day.
This was a wonderful experience. A nice walk through the bush leading to a fantastically conceived cache.
Really well constructed using high quality components.
Gets another fav point from me for sure.
Thanks skullracing,

It was 5.30 in the arvo and getting cold and hungry so we all made the dash to the approximate area of gz and knew what we were to find so that was good.
Signed log and stamped the kids and closed her up.
Thanks skullracing for the cache, now where to for dinner...mmmm didnt have to drive to far, haha.

It's a shame geokid snr did not want to get out of the car for this one - he missed out on fun. With Geo Husband waiting in the car with the kids, I made my way to GZ and quickly found the cache full of swaps. After doing logging/stamping duties I made my way back to the car.

Thought I put the wrong code in for a minute but just needed a wriggle and presto I was in.
what a great cache and location gets a favorite from me.

15-Jul-12
A really nice spot this one, i can see why this cache is named "Posties Paradise".
Parked the car and took the short walk to GZ, we had a bit of a chuggle at GZ and pondered how much unseen material was used to secure this cache in to terrafirma.
Lostmonster had a crack at the code, but without his glasses he is toast, Co was keen as to push in and have ago go go Geo Co, she cracked it, ..............as she does.....LOL......!!
WOW a really nicely stocked cache container.
Another great job in a great area Skullracing, has got our vote for a point.

Hi,

Just a note if you're planning on doing this great cache, we left a pre-addressed postcard with a stamp so you don't have to pay for postage while attending the Oz Mega.. so if you see it in the cache please feel free to write a note on it, we left space and drop it in a letterbox.. we'd love for it to make it's way back to us! Thanks all... happy hunting!

First letterbox.. wasn't expecting a letterbox!! Great cache. Peace out!

Found with Kmace
a very surreal spot for a post box
I guess the postie has a quad bike or a mountain bike for this one
Guessed the code from logs and hint,
kmace tricked a local antique dealer into giving her a biz card Wink

Thanks for this brilliant cache skullracing. Found with Irontoad on the final day of our Queens Birthday caching adventure around Albury area. Irontoad had worked out what he thought the code was - now just to get this information. We got the required information from the local antique shop after viewing all the people leaving the classic car show (or vintage cars - I get confuddled about these) that was on the Saturday. Seeing all the people there we decided to attempt this cache the next day and it made the start of a final day caching exciting.

Took nothing and left nothing but signed the log. Thanks for the great concept and cache skullracing. Well worthy of a favourite point from me.

This cache was not on my to-do list tonight, but Wilbert67 convinced me to make the detour, and a quick and enjoyable find was made, and a favourite point awarded!

After visiting and reviewing:

GC2XR14 - Postie's Paradise

The Royal Travel Bug Club (RTBC) is pleased to award their Official Accreditation and 4 Star Rating to this Travel Bug Bush Retreat.

Set along part of the Hume & Hovell walking track this easily accessible travel Bug Paradise is ideally suited to the social pack backing travel bug, providing a warm and dry secluded bush setting on the outskirts of the City of Albury, and with a high level of security travel bugs can enjoy their stay without the fear of Muggles.

We would highly recommend any active travel bug passing through Albury, should stop and visit this great travel bug accommodation.

Congratulations to skullracing on this great achievement.

Tried to find this one in the dark last night but when I found I had to climb the fence using the style I decided to wait till morning. Found quickly and was amazed that there was no geo trail due to te ground type.I asked a bar person last night for the correct code. I have now found several letter box caches and have used by stamp on this log. Good hide off the track. TNLNSL. Tft

Discovered after lunch that this would make the 7 difference type of cache for the day, so it was a quick trip back across Albury before the race to get the last type for the day. Thanks Skullracing FTC.

Found on the Oz Mega long weekend in Albury Wodonga. We saved this one for today on our quest to achieve nine cache types in one day. As it turned out we ended up with three letterbox caches today. This was our favourite by far Big Grin

This cache was one of the many grabbed on my 4 day trip to the OzMega Event. We arrived on Friday at midday and left at Midday on Monday and cached between when we where not socializing with other teams. This trip was also a shakedown for a new tent trailer we had purchased for camping. Besides the bike rack breaking on my trailer on the way up it all went well. PT539 also got a similar trailer to mine. He had trouble with his water tank.

Having heard about this cache from numerous other cachers, I just had to make sure I found it on my last day at Oz mega! So, my first find for the day and what a pleasure it was: over the fence, a nice walk in bushland setting and then a shiny golden obstacle to prevent me from stamping the log Wink
Not for long though! Wink Having done so many pocket queries centred around here recently, I knew this code off by heart so locus cache occurred.

StampedL. TFTC skullracing and all the other cool hides you have, too Smile

This was one of about 20ish finds for the day.. One of about 100 finds for the long weekend which also ticked off an epic night cache, 2 DT/P81 combos as well as a whole lot of favourites.. caught up with a bunch of mates as well as making new ones.. Thanks Team Oz Mega for all your efforts creating a great weekend.. I found this one with the hordes after the FlashMob.. Along with Family Josie and Jim we decided to head out here for a find after C@H suggested it was worth the trip.. mission accomplished... Thanks for the cache and find # 2372

Find number 1 of day 3 at the Albury - Wodonga 2012 Mega Event. LouiseAnn and I had a brilliant Easter Weekend at this event. A huge thanks to the organisers and all of the local geocache owners who’s caches never failed to impress us. Today was our second day of caching for the event and we were keen to get out and find caches in the area. With a general plan to travel around completing the Hume and Hovell Challenge we had a later start today, heading to the flash mob event at the Kinnross Hotel to start the day. We had this cache marked as a priority for today, as Team Tosh.net and I were keen the to get the rare letterbox hybrid cache. (it was Team Tosh.net's first!) LouiseAnn came along even though she had found it before. After a shor enjoyable walk we were at the GZ and soon had all signed / stamped the log. Thanks for the cache skullracing.

A quick find on the way back to our nearby accommodation. We had read the cache description so were armed with the necessary information. Very nicely done. Thanks for the cache.

08-Apr-12
WanderingAus wandered by after the flashmob, and as I was leaving the parking area TomTom alerted me to the presence of GC18JHD Ole Sydney By Jeff Tickell. I paused to do a 'Navigate To', then as I straightened up this cache appeared on TomTom, so I paused to do another 'Navigate To', then swung by for an extremely quick and easy find, entry to the log aided by a previous finder passing on the necessary code at the style.

My Groundspeak find No 2747, TNLNSL, dropped my WanderingAus Happy New Year 2008 Gold GC and my WanderingAus GeoMobile TB in for a visit before grabbing them back again.

This cache was the seventh find on our last day at the MEGA.

After meeting Tuena and lgoody at a nearby cache, we came up here to this very popular cache. This was another cache I had been looking forward to due to it's number of favorite points. We hoped over the fence in the little ladder and let the GPS point us the rest of the way. When we were within 20m of GZ, we could already spot the cache. The past 3 Letterbox Hybrids I have done have all been the same to this, however this one was the best of the three by far. We tried to access the logbook a few times after ai thought I had the code, however it wouldn't budge. Tuena and lgoody then came along and after a few more attempts, we soon had the nice big container in hand Big Grin Very well done Skullracing, this one is going onto my favourites list Smile. Thanks for another great cache! Big Grin

Being of the feathered variety I was distracted by another box altogether. I spied it through the trees straight away and didn’t even look at my GPSr. It was only on arrival and when I became perplexed as to how I was to access the hide, that I looked at the screen and saw that I was nowhere near the cache. It was also at this point that I decided to actually read the cache description and realised I needed to flutter back over the stile to the car to locate the required information. Then I swooped back to the real cache for a quick find. Took casino chip, left a daisy. Cache #1,167.

This was probably the busiest the mailbox has ever been, just after the flashmob event at the Kinross - we could have held another flashmob event here at the postbox there were so many making the find.
thanks - had the code but did not need it with so many cachers "imn the queue".

Found with Black Bunny on our OzMega odyssey. Candy Cane 101 accompanied us on the trip, but didn't show a lot of enthusiasm for caches - there was a lad within hailing distance. I had a few back problems related to the camp bed, I think, so I missed a few, too.
