Church has seen better days. Easy find other than prickles in the grass. Cheers skindo!
#8277. I was heading up this way to attend the community celebration event in Whanganui on Saturday. So decided to take a day of annual leave and come up a day early to the Manawatu to pick up geocaches near Sanson and north of Feilding before staying overnight in Palmerston North. Got an early start (for me) from Wellington and was up at the first cache soon after 9 am. I solved most of the Shield puzzles last year but still had a few to do in the past month or so. Managed to get all in the series done before I drove up here. Still my day's caching plan was far too ambitious and only scratched the surface of this series.
Yay another skindo cache. What a bonus. And archived as well. I headed to GZ and saw the expected hiding spot and found a container that looked like a replacement. Was surprised to see a blank log inside and a space for a FTF to be written. Well I filled that up still thinking it was the skindo cache. Then I discovered the name was different. Bonus - its a new unpublished cache and I have the FTF - sweet. Dug around in the same spot and out comes the original skindo container with its logbook intact. Signed the old logbook as well and replaced the cache as found. Thanks skindo for hiding another cache up here well away from your Wairarapa heartland.

I was out this way today looking for the S.H.I.E.L.D caches. This one just happened to be not too far away. No problems making the find. Nice little Church. Cheers and TFTC
On our own mega weekend with Infoferret, Jude_E, and NosyNel - 2 North Islanders and 2 Mainlanders - what can we get up to? This one took a bit of hunting to find but we did. Signed as JENI. TFTC
On a geocaching adventure with Infoferret, Nosynel and Ethness. Signed logs as JENI. Since we are attempting so many, please excuse the repetitive logs. Thank you for all the puzzles and caches. Good fun! Lovely wee church.

Team JENI is on the loose in Manawatu. We are Jude E and Nosynel are up from Christchurch and have teamed up with the Wellington InfoFerret and Ethness.
We saw kingfisher on wire near church. Very picturesque.
Sadly there is no large event in New Zealand in 2019 but there are a few Mega events planned in Australia. I plan on going to the OzGeomuster in July. To find out more visit this site: https://www.ozgeomuster.com.au
If you can't make Aussie. New Zealand will have another large event in 2020 in Auckland. I will keep you posted in my logs.
Thanks for hiding this geocache.

On a planned geocaching trip with specific targets.
1: The final 2 caches to fill my D/T grid
2: The last 5 caches available (all in the South Island) to meet the NZ Jasmer challenge GC4R9Z6
3: Get as many caches as possible in a day (Solo)
I had no timetable and only a vague route (Christchurch - Dunedin- Invercargill). So after 20 days of sleeping in my tent/car I arrived home having traveled 4500km and visited some interesting places. Met some great people. I had found over 650 caches. That was a lot of park. Jump out out. Find cache sign and return. Then on to the next. All this done by myself. Also attended an event and had 2 FTF
Mission 1 and 2 were achieved and I had a best day of 153 caches. All this done by myself.
Day 1 Hamilton to Wellington 31 caches.
I left Hamilton at 6am and got to Paekakariki at 4pm.
What a lovely church a pity the inside has.gone. Cache all good. Thank you for the placement

Today was “SHIELD” day. Yeetrees, -gonefishing- and I were heading up to attempt the SHIELD series of caches on the back roads of Manawatu. It was an early start (5.35am) out of Wellington. After over 7 hours of caching we achieved the series plus a few more. My personal tally for the day – 117 finds. Thankyou to all the CO’s of the caches found.
Out for a day's caching around the backblocks of the Manawatu, mainly picking up the SHIELD series and a few other nearby caches. A total of 7 hours 15min to find the SHIELD series and a few others in between.
All in all, a great day out with SAROC and Yeetrees.

Heading back to Wellington from the Waikato today with some time for some caching - yay! With the intention of picking up some of the new SHIELD caches I diverted down State Highway 54 and called here along the way. It's not often I find a skindo cache nowadays, I don't think there are many of these left for me to find. Knowing the sorts of places this CO hides things, when I arrived at GZ I headed straight towards a likely object and instantly had the cache in hand. Signed log, TFTC
I was rudely awoken from my slumber this morning at 5:15 by a phone call from a mate asking me if I'd care to join him in a run to finish off finding all the recently published SHIELD series puzzle caches nearby. Well it seemed far too good an opportunity to miss so before I knew it I was in the car and heading up to this neck of the woods.
I've never really been through this area before, and it was a very nice surprise to view all the scenery, including some stunning views of Mounts Ruapehu and Ngauruhoe in the distance.
This cache was a straightforward find, although the log was completely full so supplied another strip of paper to be able to sign my find. Once the requisite admin was attended to the cache was replaced exactly as found and we were back in the car and off to the next one.
Thanks for placing this cache, and for the excuse to visit yet another little corner of New Zealand.

Up for the Mega for the week, had a great day in the Bulls and the sunrounding areas many thanks to the cache placer's - Bitsprayer
Quick find while taking the scenic route from Wanganui to Palmerston North. TFTC
Being on my sister's MG rally meant I could only stop at a few caches between Auckland and Feilding - this one looekd interesting so it made the cut. Found the cache and then sister and I explore inside the church which looks like its bein renovated. Charming. T4tc
Heading towards the Mega. Thought it would be impolite not to grab a few on the way through. Thanks all for the hides.

We past some spectacular sow covere mountain scenery & along a desert road.

Hubby off to fetch his elderly dad for the weekend for fathers day so I got my mum to come on a caching run with me this morning. Mum drove and I grabbed. Looking like rain the whole way but held off - much to our relief. What a cute church. It is so sad to see them fading away with time. No muggles around. Enjoyed listening to the lambs bleating in the paddocks. I love this time of the year. We enjoyed the gravel roads as well - especially mum who got to drive them! Many thanks to Skindo for placing this cache. We want to get 250 in September to qualify for finding a cache in the Wairarapa. TFTC
Another car was in the parking area when I got here. Went and found Rewa School then came back. No one seemed to be around so risked a quick grab. Tftc
Found with Pandapup after a bit of a search. Cute little church and not a soul to be seen around today. TFTC
One of the many caches we found on our campervan journey from Lower Hutt to Tauranga. A mighty and enjoyable journey through many great and iconic parts of the north island. Many thanks to the many CO's for the great cache placements and for bringing us to new places. Very pleased we travelled along to this site today. TFTC. Sorry for the generic log.
Was up at stormy point when I realized there were two caches at Rewa. Nipped down and got them.
Today we planned a shortish trip up around the Hunterville area to try to locate about 8+ caches waiting to be given a smiley face. When we set off it was cloudy and even had rain clouds around but as the day went on it came out lovely and sunny and so we needed sunhats.
A great little church, unusual that it was a presbyterian church. A typical Skindo hide.
Thank you for bringing us to this forgotten highway and the cache, and another smiley face.

Heading to Feilding and grabbing some caches on the way - a quick find here in a usual skindo hiding place - SL and returned as found. Shame the church is not as well maintained as the school. Thanks for the placement skindo.
#7316. It turned out to be a sunny day for exploring Rangitikei Valley Road. It was all quiet at GZ when we got there. Quick find. The cache was in excellent condition, all nice and dry inside. Took nothing, left nothing, signed log.

As we pulled up to gz, jesserfly and myself, we watched a sheepie get taken from the back by a local and his wife, she seemed to look at us alot. We waited to leave car till they had left, then proceeded with the search.
Cache in good state,log also.
Formalities completed, returned so we can check out the school.
Cheers

On our way north from Palmerston North, beautiful little church, cute little lambs next door, unfortunately no cache.
Decided to take a new (longer) route home today.
We enjoyed wandering around this tiny rural Church. Nicely hidden cache.

Passing through the area and this looked like a good quick find to break the journey. Plenty of parking for car and trailer and soon found the cache in the expected location. Thanks skindo.
A nice spot. Only thing I had to watch for were a couple of magpies very close to the GZ. TFTC
A quick find in the cliche Skindo spot. Cute little church. Thanks for bringing me down here.
Cache in good order. The wife would have loved to come see this church. Churches and graveyards, very popular with cachers.
Cache 37 of 42 - Out with Tommygun9 & Spudnz on an afternoon excursion to the mountains. Got to experience a lot of different climates on today's adventure.. Rain, hail, sun, wind and even a bit of snow thrown in for good measure! Found on the way back home, quick find Cheers FTC!
Picked up Old School and then drove past this one late on today's mission. Followed a slightly different trail and then to search the call came from the car it's a Skindo so the cache was soon in hand.
I hope the 'danger live cables' sign nearby is a precaution because the cables were exposed.

On the road again with Gap (of Fap and Gap). Up at the crack of dawn to travel down-country to an event in Kimbolton... The things we do for an August Souvenir.
There is so much history in these back road communities... A quick cache find here. TFTC.

Needed to do an event cache to get our August souvenir challenge. Problem was, where is an event cache close by. Mrs Fap found one 300km away in Kimbleton, there appeared to be nothing closer. Phoned Squirrel Nutcas who was a keen starter so Kimbolton it was. All this way so planned to pick up a few more on the way. Left Rotorua at 6am and back home by 8.30pm with 58 caches found, not a bad day at all.
10.05am - SLTFTC

Headed south with C&D, for a full weekend of caching, with the first cache being found at 6.00pm Friday night and finishing with an Event in Hamilton at 1.30pm on Sunday afternoon. Both of us had certain caches we were targeting for the Geo Licence series, as well as finding anything else we driving past, or near. All up we found 165 caches, travelled just over 1700kms and had around 5 hours sleep.
All in all it was an EPIC adventure, exploring in and around the Whanganui to Dannevirke area. We found some great caches along the way and saw some great sights. Thanks to everyone for placing all the caches.
Quick find on our way home.

My mega NZ MEGA 2013 Trip!! Split into two halves - first, the journey up, and then the second half was the actual MEGA time.
This was the first half. I ended up deciding that the best way to travel up for the MEGA was by doing a rental relocation. Jucy had FAR too many cars in Chch that needed going to Auckland, and so with the pick of the crop I went for the 4WD... naturally, being a cacher, I knew this would come in handy!
They paid the vehicle on the ferry, paid the insurance, and gave me a free tank of gas as well as 5 days to get up to Auckland! What more could you want?!!
This was my 190th cache of the trip.
Sorry about the mostly copied logs - but otherwise I would still be logging till Christmas - and that's Christmas 2014 I mean! Haha.

A lazy day and a lazy drive through the area, a great wee spot for a cache. and soon had it in hand. The spring calves were the only muggles watching
TFTC a Skindo special. Had to be there much longer than I wished, as my Insurance company decided to call whilst I was parked (we had some storm damage a few weeks back). Whilst I was explaining to them that it was great they'd got some quotes and were ready to authorise the cabling work, we'd got it done a fortnight earler as we wanted power back on in the house for some strange reason.....) a local farmer pulled up asn asked if I was OK. Not sure whether he bought my explanation that this townie had wanted a safe place to pull off the road to take a call, but he went away again...

Finally heading North after a long week (but only four days) of work and time to grab the last few caches. Have used this bypass to Palmerston North many times over the years but must say its the first time I have stopped.

Repeat of the Etherlord/Seagnoid experience for us today. Knowing who owns the cache and not finding it in the expected place, I was ready to move on when Ewelou again came up trumps.

A straightforward find - fairly familiar with skindo caches in this part of the world - nearing the end of a beautiful day. Very peaceful at Rewa. TFTC

Dag nabbit. I saw who the owner of the cache is and said "Right. That means it is here" And promptly didn't find it. Started thinking it had been muggled what with all the lawn mowing and weed spraying. But no, Etherlord found the cache. only a couple of hunderd mm or so away. Dag nabbit.
Short stop at this small little church on our trip. We first thought, that you cannot hide a conatiner here in the grass, but now we know better. Thanks.

11.30am. This is the 14th today and it was the hardest. Took quite q while and then found where it seems to be out of place. Replaced as I found it.
Thank you. David.

Find #1237. Second to last find for the day, as we took the scenic route (glad we did - as it eventuated in an unplanned cache placement) back to Wellington. We didn't have much time for caching as the route we took today involved a lot of convoluted routes which took a while to drive, but we still had time for a cache or two more late in the day. A quick find at another skindo owned and operated© church.
Cache was totally visible as the weeds had been sprayed around the posts, so we tucked it away as best we could. SL TFTC.

Sixth of 13 finds on a day long drive from home to Te Puke. Quick find TFTC, I love these small local churches which once were the centre of the area.
LOL, this was the most frustrating thing. Kiwi-flyer & I stopped here a year ago & couldn't find the cache anywhere. Today we stopped & literally found it in a couple of minutes... I don't know how we missed it last time
