Logs
As there's been either no response from the cache owner, no cache to find or log to sign, or it's been a number of months since the last owner note. I'm archiving it to keep it from continually showing up in search lists, and to prevent it from blocking other cache placements. If you wish to repair/replace/make available the cache sometime in the near future (next 30 days), just contact us (by email), and assuming it meets the current guidelines, we'll be happy to unarchive it. Should you replace the cache after 30 days has passed please create a new cache listing so it can be reviewed as a new cache.
Many thanks from Peter for this cache on the 13. Australia Trip (2012/2013).
Cheers Peter

Very interesting to find out about this little village. We had not realised that the cache had been disabled because there is no maintenance notification in the logs. We can confirm that the contents are mouldy and the container was clearly visible from the road. We left a temporary log book in a new zip lock bag which should carry it over in the interim. TFTC.
Found whilst out on a great day trip to Burra with CPWanderer.
Find number 2500 for the Ms.
Cache located, and as already reported, the log was very very wet. Very interesting spot, we will return someday when we have more time to explore. TFTC.

A quick find and a great cache, despite the damp, in a great location. Thanks Crapper Crew for this and other great hides around Burra.
one of four finds of day thanks Crapper Crew, cache needs maintenance as water has entered container
first of four for day thanks to Crapper Crew took two visits to find, eventually quite easy find
It was windy today and I was blown up the hill to this cache, then had to peddle down the hill to the next cache. There's an interesting collection of ruins here.
One of 89 finds while riding the Bicycle SA 2012 Annual Tour.
Thanks for the cache The Crapper Crew.

Whilst staying overnight in Burra SA , Mrs One-Eyed & I decided to stretch our legs and try some local geocaches.
On previous visits to Burra we have photographed several of the historic sites ,but never this one.
By the way, found the cache log "Waterlogged" it will need to be replaced.

Lid no longer fits its container and the container was full of water. Log book a mess. All needs replacing.
Easy find but the lid was a metre away and the cache was literally full of water. The lid no longer fits. All contents mushy but we stamped a page and watched the ink spread. Took GC which was still in good condition. TFTC
Being retired we can have an extra long weekend so managed to get together with idax (though not retired, had some annual leave) for a few caches between Clare and Burra. A most enjoyable caching day.
Thanks to The Crapper Crew.

One of many we found and signed on a day trip to Burra.
Lovely historic site. Thanks.

Arrived at GZ in the rain followed shortly after by an adult muggle with children in tow. Once they found their way into the village (without a key!) we headed for the cache. Geowife took a slide in some lose gravel on the road but luckily hurt nothing more than her pride! Dropped off CoastGuard TB. TFTC The Crapper Crew!
Found a place that looked like a cache had been here.. Funny really because when we found the cache, it made me wonder what would have been in the other spot... Would have like to have had a look through the ruins but time was against us..
Thanks The Crapper Crew for the cache

When we first started looking We found a spot that looked like it once held a cache so was thinking it may have gone but after a further look around found the real spot.

An easy find and again the camouflage had been dislodged. Unfortunately a sudden influx of history seeking Muggles made it difficult to do much more than heap a the camouflage without creating suspicion. A small shovel or similar owuld be a better job.
An easy find as the cache was exposed. SL TNLN Covered the cache, so it doesnt get muggled. TFTC
The Geofamily could spot this from the Geolux as not covered properly, Eldest Geodaughter got out to retrieve this one.
The last time we were here, we had a key to the village and thoroughly enjoyed wandering around the whole place. Burra really is a fantastically preserved historic gem and we always love coming up here.
The cache was an easy find, but for my money, I’d have put it around the other side of the tree where it stands a far better chance of remaining out of sight.

A great caching day around the countryside...easy find by Ms Bushies2...another amazing old village. Thanks The Crapper Crew.
Another find on a day out caching with wessarah for joans birthday. Fascinating site. TFTC
Another quiet location on a beautiful day [^].
TN. Left grasshopper. SL.
The lid no longer seals, so it's essential that the covering is spread to hold it down evenly and prevent water entry .
Thanks for one more Crapper Crew.

Another cache while we were out exploring Burra. Great history all around this area. A piy most of the dwellings have collapsed. SL TFTC
Would have loved to see this area in its heyday or even when it was in better condition. Last time we were here we were able to go inside some of the cottages but this is unfortunately no longer allowed - shame. Found cache easily. Took TB teapot to continue its journey.
No time to look through the ruins today but will make more time on another trip, just enough time to find a cache or two before heading on to Adelaide TFTC Took TB
What an amazing set of ruins. Took the USA Bear travel bug and left Comeniac TB.

Today is day three of my epic journey from home in Melbourne to Alice Springs in NT via the Flinders Ranges is SA. It is not purely a caching holiday, but I still hope to pick up quite a few caches on the way.
More Notes to follow on my return

Found on an 11-day road-trip from Melbourne to Cockburn, with kids and tag-along Chinese teacher (to show her some real country).
Not much left of Hampton Village now so we all chose a house to imagine living in. We all imagined roaring fires, because the day was super chilly. Still, caching gave us the extra little bit of motivation to get out and about, and for that, I am thankful to the Crapper Crew once again.
Cheers from Team Bearsleys (Andy, Tam, Anna, Bass, plus guest cacher Xinyan)

A nice big one for the village. Not a sole around today so made this find easy. I did not have a key but it wouldn't be too hard to visit this one if you were that way inclined. Clear skies.
Have visited and passed through Burra many times and had no idea this site existed. Thanks for bringing me here
Another bronze and another fascinating place that we had missed on previous visits and didn't know was here.
