Having failed to find any of the signs previously, I had used google to obtain some coordinates for the final. I had a quick look for it quite some time ago, but the area my phone indicated as GZ was the part of the wall which was falling down and had a lot of tree debris, so I gave up the hunt.Today I am trying to complete a challenge which requires finding multis and as we were in the area I thought I'd give it another try. There is a lot of leaf litter here, and many rocks from the wall are on the ground. There is still a lot of tree debris just to add to the mess. Even with 2 pairs of eyes we still couldn't spot anything, and considering the condition of the wall were reluctant to try to poke at any gaps or even try to rummage through the leaf litter not knowing what might be underneath it. Not even sure which side of the wall the cache might be on.
Coordinates changed from:S 36 56.589 E 174 53.801Coordinates changed to:S 36 56.588 E 174 53.701Distance from original: 486.3 feet or 148.2 meters.Updated to the current location of the sign needed to solve the calculations.
Updated coordinates to the location of the second sign, since the first sign has been vandalised.
Google Streetview still shows the (second) sign at -36.9432612,174.8950354, though the first is gone
Well that will teach me to read the entire description before I set out. Hubby parked by an entrance closer to the traffic lights and I walked down to here. No sign of a sign about water. And then I read the note in the description that at some point it was missing. No problem, there are some coordinates for another waypoint with a similar sign. Only problem they aren't saved as a waypoint, and aren't in a form that I can copy on my phone and enter as a waypoint (unless somebody can show me how to do it without needing wifi). Now back home and using Uncle Google, it appears that the extra set of coordinates are for the place hubby parked. But guess what, I had checked that gate before I got in the car and there was no sign mentioning water on it.
The sign on the gate at the posted coordinates is missing, and you have been aware of that for some time. The sign at the alternative coordinates is also missing, and that was noted by the last cacher to find the cache some time last year. Can you at least provide the coordinates for whichever gate does have the correct sign on it?
Temporarily disabled until I can confirm if the sign still exists, and if so, its actual coordinates
The sign is still gone and the given coordinates for the spare lead me to a total different place. Mmh. But driving past the landfill I spotted a sign that also had to do with water, and the CO confirmed it was the right sign. After wrongly calculating the coords, I needed another little nudge from the CO, because I didn't read the description carefully enough and had used the wrong number for my calculations. But after my mistake had been corrected, I came up with the right coords... Phew.
Today I finally came back to make the find and sign the log. Very nice hiding place. Well sheltered. The cache and log is still in a great condition. Nice multi.
Thanks for hiding and maintaining. Tftc

Left due ro a large amount of bees/hornets who have nests at the stones. May want to relocate this one for safety purposes.
Solved this one awhile ago and had a go and getting it to but ran out of time, this time however a quick park and grab to sign the log

8017 Another day in Auckland with ABCDF4 and eyespyben. I had been to GZ before and walked away without finding. Back today with three extra pair of eyes but it still took a little time before the cache was found. Cache in good order. Thank you for the placement.
Off to the big smoke of Auckland again with KGD &EyespyBen and what a beautiful day
KGD got the one Lots of Rubbish around

Solved puzzle no problems (once found sign!) and went to final. What a horrible dirty place! So much rubbish, broken wall and overgrown vegetation. Got to within 1 metre of GZ and searched around but didn’t find the cache. Not fussed about coming back here in a hurry
First multi-cache, yay. Sign wasn't hard to find. Spent ages at the gz, finally found it after 20min of looking and checking my coords.
Thanks for the cache!!!
Thanks for the cache!!!
The sign has indeed gone (actually vandals have broken it off and it was on the ground nearby)... but there is another one just the same a little further along the road, at 36°56'35.5"S 174°53'41.8"E
For some reason I don't think I've ever noticed this multi before so took a little look this morning and noticed that it was getting a bit lonely having last been found in January 2018. That seems a shame so did a little homework at home on what might be required and worked out that it wouldn't be too hard.
At GZ soon headed to the right spot. Had the hound with me who was excellent cover so while he snuffled about I had a bit of a think about where I would put the cache so I wasn't tempted to pull things apart. In the end got lucky and the cache was in the very first place I looked - excellent coords here helped. Good sized cache too and great find to the original logbook in absolutely pristine condition. Straightforward multi (though the sign was not exactly at the posted coordinates but close enough). Thanks for the multi-cache.

This one has been bugging us for a long time, we made an attempt to find it a while back but had no luck and we are always reminded of it when we drive past GZ, which is quite often.
This evening we had a sudden feeling that today was the day so off we went, deciding to search a wider area and not worry too much about the co-ordinates.
As we began the search a car drove past and someone screamed out "hope you find it". It's always nice to get some encouragement from what we assume was a fellow geocacher, so thanks to our mystery supporter .
After a bit of fruitless searching our plan wasn't looking so appealing after all so out came the GPS and sure enough it took us straight to the cache and gave us a long awaited sigh of relief.
Thanks sshipway for a great multi, we made it lot more difficult than it needed to be, but got there in the end.

My first one of this type. Solved a week or so ago and finally got to GZ. After a 5 minute fight with different parts of the wall finally located the cache. Signed and returned. Very satisfying. Thank you.
First one for the day. Came up from Palmerston North to do some geo hunting up here!
With Gap (of Fap and Gap)... We have been planning a raid on multis for several weeks. The plan evolved into an overnight expedition during Queen's Birthday weekend.
With our night time schedule kicked off, we hoped to make some fast finds. The initial steps were very quick to work through. But the final, not so much. The combination of darkness and a swinging iPhone gps, kept us searching for a while. We eventually spotted the hide after poking in many holes. TFTC.

11.20pm - First part was easy and the next took awhile to find amongst all the fallen branches. Great to be able to tick this one off. SLTFTC
Found the sign without any trouble and ended up with some sensible cords for the final. Decided that the walk would do me good so had a quick hike to GZ. Cache in hand, signed and returned, so far so good. Headed back for the car and got almost to the lights when I realised the GPS no longer had a cover sooooo...
Back towards the cache and almost there when cover was spotted on the ground, cover on securely and back to car having covered an extra km. Oh well the exercise is good for me. TFTC

Mrs B solved the GC headquaters puzzle and said you have to get a multi on the weekend for the souvier; so here is the first one of a few that I have set out to get this morning. Nice to be able to not even get out of the car on a wet morning to solve this and then drive to a short walk to the final. Cache is in good condition. TFCT.
Before I had a meeting I had time for a wee bit of caching so headed off to this one. The sign had me confused for a minute but sorted that and co-ords quickly worked out. Off I went, parked across the road then ducked over for a fairly quick find. TFTC!
Staying nearby for work for a couple days and with micros and traditionals not doing much for me these days I decided to put in the extra effort to go looking for this one. A pleasant enough stroll out to the initial information sign and all was simple with the calculations so off to the final I went. By this stage it was dark so I was a bit concerned about the hunt but my luck was in and it was the first place I looked So now back to the hotel for some food and some sleep, serious jet lag starting to kick in now. Greetings from Northern Ireland. TFTC
Only our second ever successful puzzle cache. Thanks for making our minds work.
Out with a group doing the Wherigo and some puzzles in the area so we stopped by to do this multi as well. We realised we had made a wee mistake in our calculations when our gpsr's said we should be 25m on the other side of the wall and after a quick recalculation we saw where we went wrong. Mr Jag50 made the find very quickly and we signed as The Monkeys to save space on the log
This completed the SShipway challenge for "The Monkees" a quick calculation, in hindsight maybe a bit too quick, and off we went with new co ords that we had all agreed to without picking up our ever so slight error, never the less a quick find with a good clue. Thank you SShipway we really enjoyed the challenge of your caches.
This was my last cache of the day and a hat-trick for the fantastic sshipway series. Our group of 18 or so monkeys had considerably **reduced** by this stage but we decided to **reuse** the name 'monkeys' to **reduce** log space. While we did our calculations' we spotted 2 hares in the fields and listened Bertie Blowfish and Merlot singing a perfect rendition of 'hey hey we're the monkeys'. This may have been the cause of the error in our calculations, but it was soon rectified when we **recycled** our figures and **reworked** them into something that made more sense.
So the Monkees were on a roll and had the hints and the recalculated coordinates quickly sorted . Got to GZ and realised something was amiss as it meant we were going to go where no on should go. A quick inspect of a photo that someone fortunately took and we realised the error that occurs when somebody, nobody, and everybody takes part in answering the questions. We had the right answers but did not convey them to the recorder correctly. Easily solved and before the rain came back again, we hunted the cache at the new GZ. Discovered that looking carefully before removing something seems to be the order of the day and we soon had it spotted.
After we had done the Wherigo , we carried on to do some other nearby caches !
Wow ...a great easy multi we can do together ! Ooooops , a small error of one digit which we soon picked up on and rectified !
A quick find by Mr Jag before I'd even punched in the new number almost !
Thanks sshipway ! That was fun !

Our last stop of the day, after a great day out chasing the Monkey Wherigo. I was fascinated by the sight of two enormous hares hopping about up in the fields, behind the sign...and am sticking to my guns that it was their distracting us which caused the co-ord calc error....NOT Merlot58's & my fabulous rendition of "Hey Hey we're the Monkees"!
Anyroad, fortunately for all, CO's 5yro's hiding skills did not prove too much of a match for Jag50. TFTC

I was with the 60's band The Monkees today.... how do I know this? Because I heard a very good rendition of the song by merlot58 and Bertie Blowfish! I hear they were groupies back in the day!! Having a fabulous day, and that's no rubbish either! Pity we couldn't *reduce* the rain though! But it didn't damper our spirits though. Thanks sshipway for the cache here and the others of yours we have done.
Was bored at work tonight and had previously taken a photo of the sign the night before, so proceded to solve this on my break then grabbed it on the way home this morning. Nice and easy not sure about ankle height though..... Cheers for the multi and the cache. Tftc
Had previously attempted this and failed at the final trying locate the cache.
Maybe I had the wrong coordinates or suffered from caching blindness the first time.
As we are currently doing a 50 day caching streak today there was to be no nothing left to chance. I had my laptop out using my phone as the connection to the internet and I had my GP connected to my laptop so I could push the corrected coordinates through to the gps which should give me better accuracy than my phone which I had only used the first time.
Having done all the techo work in the car (see photo) I drove close to the final and started my search.
Within a minute I had the cache in hand................ YES TECHNOLOGY works
Signed the log and returned the cache to its hidey hole.
Thanks for this mini little adventure and congratulations to your daughter for a great hide!

Been driving past this one for months meaning to stop each morning. Finally did today and got fooled for a while over-thinking the sign. Was a quick solve when the little light went on tho. Was out again in my lunch hour for a quick find of the final. TNLNSL TFTC. Enjoyed it.

After the Breakfast Event it was time for a zoom around a bit of East Auckland I haven't really cached in before - so lots to choose from. Thanks all, for placing the caches!
After a quick calculation on the sign was able to get to GZ quickly and identify area I had to be. Given I was in work attire (suit) I had to walk to GZ and pretend I was on the phone while making sure muggles would not wander upon me. Quickly signed, getting the cache back into hiding spot took a little longer than expected. Made a quick get away.

Found with my Mum, NewlynFam. Have now created my own account so am logging all finds I was present at and helped with.
Mum did the solving, but I found the cache at GZ!

After a successful find at a nearby puzzle, my mini cacher and I decided to stop for this one, as I had stopped and gathered the required info and deduced the coords a week or two ago when I was in the area. We parked up and walked to GZ, where the cache was very quickly located by my mini cacher, while I was still busy staring at my phone! We signed the log and left a couple of SWAG items.

Soon collected the info off the sign and minutes later cache was in hand, a nice easy find to help us fill another day on our calendar matrix. TFTC
The 'CC1104' is just a personal code to help me quickly search for the cache without having to remember the more complex GC code. It means "Cheshire Cat hid it in 2011 during April". I can't search by cache name as too many people use the same names for caches...
As a keen recycler (recyclist???) and working nearby, I've had my eye on this one for a while. I had no idea this was the local landfill. Unfortunately it's in the opposite direction to home, so I only recently popped out to pick up the info at WP1, needing some more multis for one of my licence requirements. I reduced, reused and recycled some numbers back at home and after going back to research some school level maths for one part, had a good looking GZ. Today I needed to get out of the office to clear my head so took the opportunity to go for a stroll and have lunch out. Picked up this nicely hidden cache (well done to your daughter - 8 years old now?) and rehid in a gap in traffic. Thanks!
Originally logged and found whilst out with mum (keylev) but now have own account so logging all finds I was present at and helped with.

Collected the required information for this one ages ago and as I got to GZ got a call from a friend to see if we wanted to go to find an elusive puzzle cache ... did we ever ... so this one got forgotten for the time being.
In the area driving past and thought lets have a quick look. Luckily it was just that - a nice quick find in among lots of fallen tree debris.
Thanks for hiding.

Found with kiwitrecker1 and the kids. A great opportunity to discuss recycling and practice a little math! TFTC
I re-connoitered around at GZ for the cache before I re-alized that it was a field puzzle. I got the re-quired info and decided to re-position my car to re-search for the cache. I had to re-calculate once since for some re-ason that I don't re-collect, I used the wrong info. Once I re-confirmed, I then re-ctified the re-ctangular coordinates, re-treived the cache, re-joiced, and then re-placed it as found. XNSL. TFTC
I had a bit of time to spare before going to a meeting not to far from here so managed to find a couple of caches on the way. A nice little multi. I managed to park in a side street across the road from the final location and dodge the traffic to get on the right side of the road. Then I had to wait out the only 2 muggles on the path in the area. After that it didn't take too long to spot the cache although it was well wedged in place and took a bit of effort to extract. TFTC, Biggles.
We tried this on the way home from a family geocaching day. Not too easy, but perfect for our 8 year old's math skills. Found the cache after a bit of a search. Lots of debris in the area but still managed to find it. Thanks!
This one is located along a busy road in a public area but managed to find it easy enough on a Sunday morning when not to many cars were about.
Up here today with Nova Lightning to see if we can clean up a few caches to try to meet our own challenge that we set ourselves to achieve by the time the MEGA rolls around.
After working out this one a little inventive parking and the cache was soon in hand. A great day for caching,

Had planned a 'big day' with Cats&Dragons and we were trying to collect 50+ caches today.
It was an early start to the day (5.00am) or for steve just a normal start to the day. We headed up to Auckland and started clearing out the area.
Steve thought he had the coords but alas no. we had to head back to the sign. It was a quick calculation and we were back at GZ. I jumped out and soon had the cache in hand. Also found a large dead frog at GZ which was a little different.

Had this in my list for nearly a year. But had gotten the coordinates wrong. But finally redid them.
So on my way back from Uni tonight I thought I would try it again.....in the dark. GPS was useless to me but only took about 30 seconds to find. Glad to have this one off my list.

Thank you very much

Gave this a go after being in the area for a church convention over the weekend. A straightforward find once I got my middle east digit right - I initially stupidly used the number I was to divide with! I had no idea a landfill was here. Thanks!
Was in the vicinity, so thought I'd have a crack at this one. Started off using the wrong sign, and then had a comprehension failure that sent me to the wrong place. Realised my error and wandered the 40m to the correct location. Co-ordinates not very precise, but by use of the clue looked in appropriate places until the cache was uncovered. Thanks for the excursion.
Have been meaning to do this one for a while now and today saw us in the area. Nicely set up and no worries with the final. TFTC

Mum and 1YO had attempted this one a while ago, but 1YO decided lunch was more important than caching; so we had to give up - we revisited it today...
Dad found it within seconds - Mum was not happy! She was sure she had looked in every possible spot with 1YO last time! At least it is now found!

Dad was he one who found this - Mum and my sister had looked at this when we were away but couldn't find it... today Dad found it really quickly - we were still thinking about where it could be when he said "is this it?"!
Great cache! Introducing the family to geocaching, and this was a fantastic cache to do it with. Grabbed trackable. TFTC
Its been a long time since this was found, so dropped by for a maintenance visit. All is OK and in good condition. Replenished the swag and dropped off a trackable.
Tried this one a couple of months ago.

Kiwi Woozle did all the hard work and I just encouraged him to cache on this bonus day of the year. Helped in the find and dropped off the geocoin.
Had to find a cache on Feb 29th. Nice hide, but lots of traffic, who were to busy to look at what I was doing.
Started to rain a little as we reached the first waypoint. No matter, it was late at night and we were able to pull into the driveway and read the signage by torchlight without having to leave the car. Drove to our calculated co-ords and parked a short walk away. Luckily the rain had stopped and we made the find quite quickly. Thanks.

Great for kids to find a bigger cache with decent tradeables in it. Thanks. Happy with maths on this one, but took us a few minutes to distinguish between areas it could be. TFTC
Nice, easy and a rather enjoyable multi for a bleak Saturday afternoon. Had done a few other caches in Highbrook so thought id stop off and grab this one before heading home. No problems with the maths, and with coordinates plugged in i was off to the final. Found in the first place i looked which was rather nice as i have had abit of frustration previously with these types of hides. Took 2 trackables for moving along. TFTC!
Stop of on the way home. I really must learn how to add and subtract. My first attempt had me looking in all the wrong places. The second attempt, after making sure my maths added up, was a quick and easy find. Thanks.
7109 Reduced, Reused, Recycled and Reclaimed... many thanks for a nice wee multi to keep us occupied after work.
With the information on the cache page updated it was time for another attempt and second time saw a successful hunt. Completed the calculations again just to be sure and then after looking for a few minutes in a couple of likely places the cache was found. TFTC and for an ingenious use of the three R's.
Out this way for some afternoon caching. Found the required sign and performed the calculations. My answer for EF looked a bit dodgy but I pressed foward none the less. At GZ it was clear my coords were out by about 30ms. Still, I thought I new where the error lay so mentally corrected for it. Must of worked, because I soon came up with the goods. Performed a TB exchange. Cheers for the cache!
Used the correct sign for the calculation of the coordinates for the cache. It must have been a very tall giant if the cache is at the height mentioned in the clue.
Cheers for the cache.
Cheers for the cache.
The multi maths on this multi cache gave AV1s furry brain a headache until hey presto within seconds AV2 goes the answer is this this and this, done. Laughing our heads off we "drove" to the final. Well it was tipping with rain afterall and still dark even though dawn had long since past. Quick find at the final, first place we looked. TFTC and the puzzle.
Saw the publication and dashed out of the house. A short drive to GZ revealed the correct sign. The calculations were quickly made however the results did not match the description. OK, try again; same result. Hmmmm what to do. 3rd time and still no luck. Well nothing to it but to try and find it without the use of the puzzle. Within 15mins of searching within many metres of stated distance from the sign and another fellow cacher arrived; nice to meet Kyle. Together we again checked the calculations and came to the same results as I had earlier. Another 15min search in the same area as I had before yielded no cache.
Will return when someone has found it or the puzzle is updated to match the description. Disappointing to miss out on a FTF.
