Area has now changed. Now a nursery. Hasn't been found for a year. Needs maintenance or archiving, me thinks
Spent nearly an hour fossicking, reading past logs and getting rather frustrated. Twice we thought we had hit the jackpot, but no success. Not a hint object in sight.
Sadly will have to log this as a DNF. We spent an hour at least here, searching far and wide, and were unable to find this apparently sneaky hide. Had to give up and go away as the locals seemed to be getting suspicious! We were sure that we had the right thing at one stage, but once again we drew a blank. Gloom.
Found in the first place we dismissed! Hunted around and came back to this spot and fossicked further. Clever hide, nice to dust it off for the next finder. TFTC! (log wet)
Nice find with woolwood9 today.
*We enjoyed the drive / walk around the area.*
Stamped logs as tm/ww NZ which may just look like a black smudge on plastic logs!
TFTC
*Haha had us looking for far too long here.*

Took a bit of searching this one. When found the log was a bit wet as the lid wasn’t on have secured the lid tightly. TFTC.
Found today on our way south! Very clever, I actually walked past it twice before chris found it!
Searched for quite a while but didn't find even using the clues read and left by others.
Today was our first day of exploring the Bay of Islands region after driving up here from Dargaville on tuesday. For our first day we planed to dive the Rainbow warrior and do a reef dive after. We made our way down from Kerikeri to Paihia in the morning and went to Matauri Bay to launch the boat. After finishing the diving and arriving back at the shop we finished all the paperwork and made our way back to the car. On our way back to Kerikeri we stopped here to pick up this Cache. We were searching the area for about 20 minutes and could not find the Cache. Close to giving up I read a few of the previous logs and was able to find it quickly after beeing sent in the correct direction and re-reading the cache page. Tftc.
On our way to Kerikeri, grabbing a few caches on the way.
Here it was found after a bit of a search and reading older logs

Stopped for a few caches whilst travelling from Kawakawa to Kerikeri. Lots of work had been done on the fence line which made us a little dubious about finding the cache, however, on our way back to the car we spotted it. TFTC
Hunted all over, never found it. Thought it was not there. But now I see the number of favourites. Wish I saw that before - that would have considerably changed our focus!
Day twelve of an awesome, tiring, long, three week holiday geocaching with Taybeedragon in the upper north. Boxing Day! Caching Kaikohe to Kerikeri. The whole trip comprised of hours of walking on sand, sliding down sand dunes, hundreds of kilometres of unsealed roads, car breakdowns, paddling out to islands, lighthouses, dolphins, goats, events, FTFs, weird boulders. You name it, we saw it. Lots of bisons, lots of cache maintenance, lots of sunscreen. A month is enough. I am glad to be back home. Except that now I have to write up my trip. We averaged just 20 caches per day, but that is still a lot of logging!
Merry Christmas from the Seagnoid!

Northland Day 4: Travelled down from Kerikeri, through the beautiful coastline of the Bay of Islands, before ending off in Whangarei. Today’s journey was marked with a bounty of seasides and waterfalls, and with the weather being particularly fine today, there was no excuse to stay in today. Another wholly productive day, with nice haul of caches of all shapes and sizes: a wholly great birthday treat with the family today.
The following is the specific log for each cache:
Quite a messy GZ here, but had to persevere somewhat to get the cache. A clever little hide here, and thanks for the little introduction to Kerikeri. TFTC!

Today we had a trip from Whangarei to Kaitaia, thereby visiting many locations especially around the Treaty Grounds in Waitangi and near the road and looking for caches, too. On this trip we searched, found and logged a lot of caches. The weather was good all day long with only partly some dark clouds.
Almost no muggels observed us as they had other things to do than observing harmless geocachers.
Thanks to 'CHLYBN' for showing us this location and for the fun we had at 'Turning Wine into Water (Far North)'. The search we had here today didn't take too much time.
Greetings from Germany and hope to see you soon in the forest.

I see what you did there, No wonder I hadn't found it previously. A clever hide. TFTC
A little perseverance needed with this one! Went back and forward between the fence and the car but decided to give one more look and found immediately! TFTC. The log is wet but still pen still managed to sign it
TFTC.. it rocked . Nice park and grab that took me a bit longer due to GPS trying to send me across the road.
Love caches like this where there's a little more to it. Last find for the day. Need to save some in my local towns!

Previous logs helped me by widening my search area. Replaced the sodden logsheet. I’m curious to know what the original cache was! Tftc
Found with Riser5 while up on Kerikeri visiting a friend for the day. Found the cache in need of maintenance so replaced with new jar and logbook. Cache now contains two trade items and a travel slug coin. Old log and container disposed of as unsalvageable. Tftc
I rolled the stones away and found the cache. But it was of full of water. The box is damaged. I wasn't to repair it.

There was some road work there and a lot of branches had been cut and lying on the ground . maybe worth a look by co
Up in the North for 5 days of R&R and looking around. We were heading for home and decided that this should be a quick drive by. Pulled around the corner and stopped. Started looking and not too soon after another vehicle pulled up. We quickly identified each other as cachers so introduced ourselves to Ogleaway. Joined up search. Mr Jag50 and Mr Ogleaway were the ones who uncovered the cache.
Took a bit of looking but found in the end. Weather not so nice today.

Driving from Kerikeri back to Matauri Bay there seems to be a loop-of-caches..... we'll face the a try and had some more smiles on the map
Not too bad to for ne, the Rick covers hardly the hide. Logbook is a bit wet

Aaarrgghhh...!!!
On an unexpected evening trip to Kerikeri, so couldn't possibly leave without looking for at least a couple of caches. With so many favs, thought this would be a good one to try. GPS only shows the last 10 logs, so although I knew that the cache may be a few metres away from indicated GZ, I didn't have some of the other vital info from earlier logs.
Spent a good 15 minutes in the dark looking up and down rows of trees on both sides of the road. Did spot a couple of suspicious rocks, that weren't hiding the cache, and also a wooden snail house covering the title item, but no cache there either.
Was almost ready to DNF this one and was walking back to the car, when, just like other cacher before me, I spotted the real suspicious rock and rolled it away to reveal the cache. So close ( and yet so far )....!! A fav from me too. TFTC

Thanks CHLYBN. Reading a few past logs really helped with this one. Cunning hide
found it. I'm always impressed how clever the 'hiders' are. Well done. Do note that with the amount of rain we've had lately, the contents were a bit soggy and may need attention but we were able to sign the log book. thanks
5.20pm - DAY 1 of 3. This is our first full day of caching in the Northland Region on this trip. Plan was to travel up from Dargaville through the forest to Kaikohe and stop when we needed sleep.
Sorry to say a lot of caches on our first leg were missing and a lot needed repairs done to them.
Would advise future cachers to check the DNF's before wasting lots of time trying to find these ones.
Trip took us to lakes, boulders, churches, cemetries and a great array of other locations.
The kilometres just seemed to flash by with food and drink stops sometimes missed.
Don't know how we ended up in Kaitaia for our night stop but woke up the motelier at some unusual hour for a bed. SLTFTC

With Gap (of Fap and Gap) and Mr Davidson (of Davidson clan). Signed most finds as BGH.
Visiting Northland for Easter... The plan for today was to head up the Kauri Coast to Hokianga Harbour , then skip across to the Pacific Coast until we were somewhere near Kaitaia. We really hope to make a big dent into several challenges we are working on...
Right about now, we could do with turning some of our water into wine. The initial search was not going well. Both phone gps were struggling to zero in, and we paced up and down the shelter belt. Eventually, a widened search zone picked up this cunning hide. TFTC.

Up North for the easter long weekend with Squirrel nutcase and Gap from FapandGap making our way up to Cape Reinga. This well hidden cache took us quite a while to find we were walking up and down the shelter belt read a few logs started to widen our search area when Gap made the find.

On our way to Kerikeri from Bland Bay and picking up a few caches on the way. My gps didn't like the trees so was looking elsewhere to start with then expanded search area and spotted cunning hide. Thanks for the placement Chlybn.
Searched around for some time without success and was walking sadly back towards the car when a likely location matching the title theme was spotted. The coordinates were about 13m out today. Had to prepare myself for reaching in to "snail hotel" but the mission was accomplished. Thanks CHLYBYN for the history and this challenging hide.
On the way to Waitangi we could take some caches along the way. The hints and the coords were good and so we were quickly found.

HUnted fro a wee while then found the snail encrusted cache. Placed a replacement log and plastic bag in the cache as the old one was in a bit of a state. Cheers.
Next part of the holiday, driving, biking and walking from Paihia to Dargaville. Time to find a few little boxes.....
Thanks to the CO's for the hides. Cheers.

Nothing related to the hint here we could see, literal or lateral. We thought it might be in a drink can called Rock but didn't see that. Plenty of garbage and dead macrocarpa though- defeated this time.

Thanks!!! The cache is a bit wet though, and I'm afraid we had to disturb the snails!
Introduced Staxcache and she found her first cache! Was very exciting and lots of fun. Property owner near by busted us so we had to explain what we were up to. We told him he could not spoil the game. He is a nice man and was intrigued and insisted on a photo. TFTC
Was about to give up, then heading back to the car a rock that looked out of place. Cache then easily found ... with many curious snails wondering what i was doing! Out with PirateLinda. TFTC
This one took clanbeckett and I ages. We looked high. We looked low. We found ants. We found rubbish. We found someone's jumper. Clanbeckett finally spotted something matching the clue just as we were heading back to the car and bingo! Cache was in hand along with a worm, several snails, other assorted bugs and mud. I knew I brought him along for a good reason. Thankfully I had some wipes in the car! GPS had us about 10m away. Thanks for the cache.
No luck here... searched from fence to fence.. and apart from neatly moweded wet grass, and water coming from the sky, and off the trees.. we found none that tasted like water that used to be wine...
nor did we find any of the clue items any where near the fence or over it .. althoght there was one twist.... eventually the chilly rain got to our resolve and it was retreat back to the warm.. wondering to our selves if northland cachers speak a whole different lingo.. as we have failed to understand any of the witty clues today... on our travel south, this one included??
we do wonder if it would be useful however to note that the bit of irrigation equippment on the left bank is not part of the cache.. not sure the owner will be to keen to have cachers turnig it over , and twisting the parts all the time?

Found this a couple days ago en route to keri keri. Quick and easy, but a little gross after some heavy rain.
Not what I was expecting. As noted by others, wouldn't do this cache in Australia. Or in the rain for that matter. Enjoyed the search. TFTC
It was a holy miracle leading us to find this cache. We had a close encounter to it as we walked from the car. A hobbit may have been proud of us. TFTC
What a sneaky little hide. Not where or what I expected and right beside where I parked. Grabbed a TB. Tftc.
After an unsuccessful look for a cache in central Kerikiri ( which appears to have been archived ), we were still in need of a cache to keep our streak going. Thankfully came upon the cache quickly. TB dropped. TFTC.
Greetings from Canada. Took a couple of minutes and reading past logs to zero in on what we needed to do. We were almost parked on top of it!
(1649) Out on a road trip with Lazac to collect some caches in the mid North and Kerikeri area. TFTC
I only found this when I had given up and was returning to my car. My Garmin had had me searching eight metres away. TFTC CHLYBN.
Very clever! It pays to read the name of the cache. Snails make very good guardians. Kiwiterm could barely fit his hand in... TFTC
Oh, that's a good one! I'm glad I wasn't on Australia retrieving that one couldn't fit our TB in, so will try another one. Found with deadrockflower. Tnlnsl. Tftc!
#7079. Parked on Cottle Hill Drive for a look around this afternoon. GZ was all quiet when we visited. Found after widening the search area. The cache was in excellent condition, all nice and dry inside. Took nothing, left nothing, signed log.
Went across Bulls Road to buy some oranges from the roadside stall afterwards.
