Had a gig in Ceduna and now travelling home slowly with Mrs Mellison. Weve just had a nice dip on the beach, first for the season, and now a quick cache before we head back to Whyalla to catch up with some friends. An uncharacteristically non-windy day! TFTC
We are on a road trip from the NSW/Vic border to W.A. for a wedding. We stayed the night in Port Augusta and thought wed collect a few caches while travelling to Whyalla. We detoured to Port Lowly for a look and had a picnic lunch while there. The lighthouse was impressive and the water colour was spectacular. What a great spot for a cache
Stopped at sign, to have a look at nearby light house, saw a suss pile of stones and lookee here, a cache, signed my sign, replaced as found. Thanks YeahRight80, all is in good condition
Visiting a friend in Whyalla and found this cache on a rainy day. Apparently it doesnt rain much here. Spectacular spot though
Did we pick the worst day of the year to come to SA? Cold, raining... anyone's think it was Melbourne! Oh well, make the best of it!Thanks heaps for the cache!
What a beautiful spot . Glass bottom boat got cancelled after we travelled all the way from Adelaide. Glad we found lovely spots like this to make up for it . Tftc..
Waiting before going to the cuttlefish snorkling we stopped at this placeIts freezing !!!!????
We are travelling with Pprass and have set up in the beautiful Fitzgerald Bay for a couple of days. The weather has been sunny but cold so we have been able to get out and about. Today we sent Mr Morris off to swim with the cuttlefish again while we headed around town and country collecting some caches and AdLabs. He collected this one after his swim and washing his gear in the delightfully hot showers. Thanks for the tour around the bay Freycinet
Find#5954Nice hiding place What a epic road trip through Victoria and NSW on our way to Whyalla South Australia Thanks for the cache
Ocw the Bebes as we visit Whyalla and made the drive out here. Glad we did as the views are amazing. Tftc
A day of caching in and around Whyalla. I have 48 hours to relocate a vehicle here, but got all the way to Whyalla last night, so today is just mooching around locally and caching before an evening flight home. My first time to this spot. The colours of the water are spectacular; its a pity that its windy and hazy today so you cant see the Flinders very well or Port Pirie either. No trouble finding the cache though. Thanks for putting a hide here YeahRight80. Its officially a mega.GCA1DNA The Great Leap ForwardAdelaide, South Australia, February 29, 2024.Wed love to have your company.
We were camping nearby and were out and about looking around the area. Stopped by after visiting the lighthouse. Thanks for the cache

Tftc on holidays and checking out this area and especially where you go for the viewing of the giant squid for a future trip

Out in a chilly day with iluvtrekking tidying up some stray caches.Surprised at the amount of caravans parked and set up alongside the road. Great views. Thanks YeahRight80
Found while visiting Whyalla for a few days with Team Waldron and TeamAstro, with the aim of finding as many caches as possible in Whyalla and surrounds. Day 1 saw us travel up from Adelaide and tour the very scenic coastline around Port Bonython and Point Lowly. On Day 2 we headed out to the Fill In The Gaps" (FITG) series, then to Iron Knob and back via the First To Find Power Trail (FTF PT) series. On Day 3 we cached in and around the City of Whyalla, and on Day 4 headed out to Whyalla Conservation Park before heading for home. Thanks for the cache YeahRight80!
Checking out more of Whyalla, the steel city, where every corner has a rusty mint tin...
and some of the nearby coast today as well.
As usual, a day packed with exercise and great views.
Spotted your cache along the way
Took a short while, but went back to the basics and soon had the cache in hand.
Appreciate Tempo 0 for placing and maintaining this cache on our SA geo game map

Searching with Purrfect Di and Jack the Monkey, finding and signing cache logs alone or with family and friends using some or all of the resources of GSAK (Geocaching Swiss Army Knife), Whereyougo, Garmin Montana 750i, Montana 680t, Etrex 35, Samsung S21u, Samsung S9, with Geocaching App, c:Geo, or Geooh Go, and Android Auto and other maps... or often with just plain old dumb luck Plenty of that luck stuff actually!!!
*Logs are composed and published using GSAK of course.*
A couple of maintenance assist tasks on the trail caches too. Looked like there had been some extreme weather since we were here last... oh yep, the floods the day after we left!!!
---
Caching is a hazardous activity!
Keep a lookout for sand traps, snakes, surprise cliffs, boxing roos, wombats, bulldust, and floods,
try not to get tetanus from rusty mint tins and don't fall out of trees...
-- -- -- -- -- -- -- but especially lookout for any old bugs from alpha to omega !!! . [xx(]
Try to keep Travel Bugs as the only bugs you share and pass on
Now everything's opening more - even more important to sanitise and safely distance!!!
Really good of all those placing quality caches out and about around the countryside areas,
in sensible safe places especially! - it keeps our game safe, fun, and interesting
Thanks heaps for reading all this addition to the log word count! There's a challenge somewhere, apparently! You win a virtual smile for the effort and getting to the end of the log

Kids were so happy to see a light house like their favorite tv show round the twist ..
The Non Wangaratta Event Tour 2021!
Covid has postponed the Mega in Victoria until January but leave had been granted for AnyMules to attend with me and Bushfire. So Anymules and I went on a tour to Eyre Peninsular and mid north South Australia instead whilst Bushfire joined us in spirit only as covid meant he couldn't come here either. Not needing anything for my yearly goals I hoped I didn't add too many to the DNFs [B)]
Day 3: Exploring around the outskirts of Whyalla.
This was a clever hide, but not too clever for us!
Only one of the three goals from last year achieved. So once again trying and fill my calendar with multi-caches and complete loop 11 again this year. [^] For my third goal I will try and get my DNF numbers from over fifty to single digits. That should keep me busy again this year! [:o)]
***Thanks YeahRight80 for putting out this cache and maintaining it for our enjoyment. ***
