Maintenance check on our quick trip to Adelaide! All good ready to go. Happy caching and safe travels!
Was initially looking for a different sort of hide. Once I reopened cache page looked at it, refreshed my expectations and soon I had cache in hand. TFTC!

WA Big Trip Winter 2024. Day 9 - Whyalla to Cleve via Cowell. I have reached my first area with new counties to be tackled, but it was mostly a roadside day of caching with a side trip into Cowell and an afternoon on Cleve where I am spending the night at the show grounds. The silo art in Cowell was amazing and the trip out to the jetty for one of the Labs was very bouncy on the scooter. I even managed to large metalwork caches without any dramas. As ever, a bit of history thrown in during the day and a few random spots to keep it all interesting. One of serval roadside caches done today without any problems. Thanks for the cache wheres_wolly_sharon46568.7 TNLNVisited: World Traveling Gold GC A#6 & August 2020 Mothman A#425**Albida**

Making my way to play golf at the Streaky Bay open on the weekend. Day 1 was doing some of the August series just before Whyalla and also start the FITG Series on the Whyalla/Kimba road before heading to Cowell to stay overnight to pick up a mat who was coming over on the ferry after working night shift. Also did an adventure lab in Whyalla and grab other caches on the way. The caches were in good condition unless mentioned in the log. TFTC
Found on our way past while heading south for Port Lincoln today. Another rest stop, another reason to pull over to find a cache. Quick find and all good here.

My 10th and last day of my trip heading to and around the Eyre Peninsular. I stayed at Cleve overnight before finally making my way home after a great 10 days away. This cache would be find number 15 of 19 for the day and find Number 243 in total for this trip away.
Only picking a few finds along the highway as running way behind time today. Quickly located and signed now back on the road to the next one.

Fuel lights on but made the stop, nice straightforward find... now off to see if we have the range to get that fuel!
GreyHams and myself set out on a three day SA caching trip after a super early start to the first day. The best start really though as by 9am and two planes later we had landed in Port Lincoln and into our rental car ready to set off! Local Government areas were our primary target, although many others of interest made the list, oldies, types and DT... Each offered some unique and often spectacular location, if your cache made our list, thank you!
Day 1 saw us landing in Port Lincoln and caching our way up towards Ceduna, a long but productive day saw us driving into Port Augusta just on dark a solid 12 hours after we had set off on the road.
Day 2 and we made the drive north from Port Augusta where we were based for the trip. The scenery on the drive to Roxby Downs changed often from little salt bush plains, shrub, salt lakes and to the amazing vast flat and empty, I loved the vast flat views... always spotting something in the middle of all the nothingness. Emus featured in huge numbers often, red dirt appeared... something I have been seeking so it was great to see it and finally get my feet into it all! Back into Port Augusta we set off for a loop in the south of the Flinders towards Quorn and out to Orroroo before returning just as the sun set to collect the last pizzas just as the shop shut for the day.
Day 3 was our last but just as full, although we only needed to get to Port Lincoln for our plane home late in the day we had many caches of interest plus a few walks along the way so took most of the day to make the distance leaving the odd cache off as we watched the clock!
Each day was full of such varied scenery, all quite stunning in their own way and led to a very enjoyable and fun trip. Thank you for your cache that guided us through the area and helped to highlight some of the great locations we got to visit.

Aquilus1 & myself on yet another caching mission into South Australia, this time it was to go out west to collect all the LGA's out there.
This area of South Australia is so interesting as you can drive and be in a completely different planet within an hour. Red gums, to mallee scrub, to saltbush, to nothingness and then back again!
STarting and finishing in Port Lincoln, but with Port Augusta as our main base we explored the Eyre Peninsula, east out to Ororroo and north to Roxby Downs. It was a short but fun little trip. Thanks to all the CO's for placing caches

Took off to the North West a bit with Purrfect Di to avoid the rains back home.
Turned out this worked quite well as we only had a couple of showers for the whole weekend and saw some great scenery and found the odd cache or two!
A brief stop along the way to rest and find a cache to log.
Many thanks to wheres wolly for placing and maintaining this cache on our SA geo-map

Travelling around - searching, spotting and signing cache logs using some or all of the resources of GSAK (Geocaching Swiss Army Knife), Whereyougo, Garmin Montana 750i, Montana 680t, Etrex 35, Samsung S21u, Samsung S9, with Geocaching App, c:Geo, or Geooh Go, and Android Auto and other maps... or often with just a guyess or plain old dumb luck
Plenty of that luck stuff actually !!!
*All the online logs are composed and published with GSAK of course.*

Beware! Caching is a very hazardous activity!
Look out for sand, mud, snakes, surprise cliffs, roos, wombats, things falling from trees, bulldust, and floods, and sharp rocks in your tyres
try not to get tetanus from rusty mint tins and don't fall off your ladder...
-- -- -- -- -- -- -- and do watch out for germs and bugs !!! . [xx(]
Make Travel Bugs the Only bugs you share and pass on
Keep your distance - cache the countryside
Really fantastic of all those placing quality caches out and about around the country areas,
in sensible safe places especially! - it keeps our game safe, fun, and interesting
Thanks so much for reading all this extra addition to the log word count! There's a challenge somewhere out there, apparently! You win a virtual smiley for the effort and getting to the end of the log Maybe if I worked out where I could do it and go back to normal logs again !

We were back on the road again after staying at Port Gibbon with ilook4geo and caching our way along towards Whyalla. This was one of the caches we found and there was no problem in locating it. Log was signed with two more names and all was replaced as it had been found. Thanks go to wheres wolly for placing this cache.
Caching along the highway with goingplaces2 and having a good day. Heading towards Whyalla and making a lot of nice easy finds. TFTC.
As a member of TeamOZCAT logged in this cache, I am now logging as an individual predominatley to avoid any mistaken revisitation. I thank CO/s for cache placement.
Please excuse belated generic log. We (and LAPUN) began our objective to drive from home, (being border towns Albury/Wodonga NSW/Vic on the Mighty Murray river) to Eucla WA and return.
Departed on the 17th April and returned Anzac day 25th.A good 8 days camping at a different place each night. Caching was not one of our objectives but managed an average of 2 per day giving a total of 16 hides.
All hides were in good to fair condition and none required maintenance. Thanks to CO for placement of cache.

Today we were heading down to Crowell but had a few things to do in town first and then I wanted to get the last few in the FTF series close to Whyalla.
We then headed to Cowell collected caches along the way.
We loved Cowell especially the oysters and spit roast at the pub.

It is really disappointing to see an area abused in this way. So we were very careful when we started to search for this cache, wearing gloves and using ticks. Thankfully the cache was located quite quickly when we saw a familiar marker. The cache and contents were in good condition. Thanks wheres wolly for the initial placement of the cache.
Quick drive by on the way to Cleve. Novel use of everyday item for camo - first time we’ve seen that!

It was a few weeks ago that Laighside Legends suggested a trip over to Port Lincoln for the long weekend in order to gather a few more LGAs’. It was a pleasant drive over, picking up a few caches along the way, however we spent a few hours in Whyalla to specifically target a few caches. This was followed by a slow drive down the costal highway, picking up cache after cache and happened to even bump in to Aussie M&M and Mogni as we neared Lincoln. We arrived in Lincoln at around nine after an enjoyable day of traveling and caching.

On my two day trip to Port Lincoln with e.gregory1, we stopped everyone and again to collect some target caches along the way. Majority of the trip was based around collecting puzzles and LGAs. Unfortunately we hit a kangaroo not too far past port wakefield but car is a bit dented.

Travelling Australia since March 2014 it has been a while since in SA but enjoying this visit greatly.
We moved today to Cowell then headed out to explore the local area using Geocaching as a guide. Windy and rainy still so the GeoCruiser is covered in red mud [8)] from all the slipping and sliding.
Indeed a clever hide for a shitty location it would seem.

Stopped started to look but on seeing used syringes decided this was not a safe area so didn't feel inclined to look.
Not a nice area to search for a cache, given all the toilet paper, but at least the cache concealment was appropriate. TFTC
At first I was convinced that the cache was gong to be where the SPoR was, but I didn’t see it there. Moving a bit further away I spotted something that I wasn’t sure if I wanted to go near, but, yes, that was concealing the container.

I wondered why the cache had this name as I rolled up to this rest area.
Oh !! I get it
I took the second way in
And ... 'Eeee-ewwwe' [xx(]
There is dunny paper everywhere in the bushes [:o]
And the bins are overflowing ...
Your typical roadside rest area
I wouldn't be letting the kids or dogs run around here !!
Who knows what they might pick up,
and spread around the car !! [:o]
With a poking stick handy,
I soon found the cache cowering in its hiding place
All good with the cache and the colouring is rather appropriate for the area

After a bit of wandering phone syndrome, we managed an easy find while touring with the 4WD event mob. TFTC.
Found it after attending the Munyaroo Heights Event, been here before with a DNF back in 2015. Thanks for the hide wheres wally.
We came from one way & went another way. Not sure where the third way went now as it's a few days on the road since this find. We did stop though, to find the cache of course. Thanks WW.
Today I got to retrace my steps and do the caches in this area that I'd missed last time I came this way with Tempo. Some easy finds and some that tested the ol' brain. Thanks for your efforts.
Hi there wheres wolly.
We found your cache **"THREEWAY STOP" **at 3:24:00 PM today. This cache makes our find count 13845.
We have been caching now for quite a few years and have noticed that the trend of placing small "mint tin" caches without swaps is increasing, especially in a spots such as this where a much larger container could have been placed.
Sadly it seems that no-one wants to place large, kid friendly caches any more. [?]
**Coordinate Accuracy:** We found the cache around 2m from where the GPS said we should be looking.
**Cache Condition:** Container and log book are in good shape.
**Took:** Nothing.
**Left:** A smiley badge..
Thanks for the hunt today,
Regards
Ian & Penny.

Much more easily found than we expected. Yes there was some scratching around.
This log was so wet we only left our initials (GL & CPW) on a section. Sorry we didnt have time to dry it out for you.
Found whilst on a fabulous Easter long weekend caching trip with CPwanderer travelling from Adelaide to the Eyre Peninsula. Our day has been filled with lots of fun, laughter, adventures, driving along dirt tracks with heaps of corrugations, and even searching for somewhere open for us to buy dinner on Good Friday.....an almost impossible task!

Off on a caching adventure with GoodLook on the Easter long weekend!! We had perfect weather and, for the route we were taking, surprisingly little traffic! Our target was the Cleve Cowell area althouth we started way before this. Our biggest challenge was the lack of anything open, apart from roadhouses, on the Friday and Saturday!!
Found more easily than expected!!
