too many DNF's. All the other caches from this owner have been archived so not holding out much hope it will be rectified
I wasn't going to try this one due to the DNFs, but I found myself in the area, so looked in the indicated spots. I would guess it has gone missing.
So this is where Mike scratched his eye.

Lost count the amount of times ive tried searching for this one. Still no luck after spending a considerable amount of time here. Gave up when i scratched my eye on a leafy branch and retreated back to the car.
We spent quite a long time here looking and we were not able to find it. We are pretty sure we were looking in the right place based on the hint and the logs from other that had found it
@0720. Failed to find it. But has seen a nice place.
Didn't find and logged on my HTC/c:geo

Found ... Mrs McMike2012 decided that we'd out East & look at an area we hadn't explored before ... doing a couple of tracks to get our steps up for the day ... & picking up some caches along the way ... all in all a good day out ... with the weather being bright & sunny there were plenty of 'muggles' out & about so we had to be very careful when attempting our finds today ... this being an easy find. TN:LN:SL. TFTC. #780 for us.
Higher than expected, but read other people's logs and that helped. Very well hidden TFTC
Fortunately we read some of the activity as we determined quite early on hunting for this that something was not quite right. We raised our sights a little and found it.
Hint needs to updated.....too many DNFs.
We found it, it's slightly higher than hint suggests
Nice walk.

After finding a great bakery for lunch this is our first find of the afternoon. Thanks for bringing us to this great track. Cache in good condition.
Spent far too long here searching for this one this evening. Spotted two very likely trees but i couldn't spot the cache anywhere. After re-reading the logs i noticed that the hint didn't quite match any more so widened my search area. This one seems to be very well hidden but, ill be back another time.
First find of the day for Mrs R. Great views of the Tamaki today at high tide.
A slightly cryptic clue but could be argued as accurate, depends on who you are. Found after some general crashing about following GPSr rather than hint. Out on a day of caching for the school holidays with garball and daughter and the girls of casaba3.

Went for a few hours caching with my sister and niece (casaba3) and one of my girls and this was one smiley not yet on either of our maps. Turns out you need to follow the clue not the GPSr here, who'd have thought? Great clue, interpretation slightly out but found in the end. Thanks for bringing us out here jrhnz01 - great place.
Out for an expedition with the McArgister clan and keylev's crew, and although we had to DNF, the coords had allowed us to successfully navigate the low tide walkway from the tip of the spit to here (with only slightly wet feet), so we were thankful for that. Mini McArgister was a bit over things by now though so I wasn't able to give this a thorough search, but previous DNFs, including keylev's last week, meant I hadn't held out much hope. Could well be back in the summer so will try again.
Tried to follow the hint which from a later reading of the logs may no longer be valid so failed.
Tried on the way past on the trail no luck so tried a second time on way back to the car but no luck yet again.
Will be back to complete the caches along the spit as we could not do so today at high tide so will watch this and have another go...
Thanks for bringing us here anyway - kids had a great time!

Took a long time to find this, was only after reading the logs that we found it. Tftc
iPhone had us in all over. Then hint had us scratching around. Went to log and found it had moved slightly. But got it.
Good instructions from the hint made a quick find as battery was dying on phone!
This one took some searching about as funkymunkyzone warned about the dangers of owning a straightjacket. It turns out the cache was no longer in the hinted elevation, which explains why it took so long.
Thanks!
Thanks!
Found originally as part of Rebel98 team, now created own account, re-logging as rustynz
See log below, still lots of fog about, the cache was safe and secure in its hiding place, used the clue to make the find. After went for a walk along the foreshore of this small point. Magical place, thanks for the hide.

Use a mixture of paperless and paper based caching! today was paper based, so its a copy and paste method. Except that I missed the last co-ordinate when copying over. Fortunately hint was so precise that I made my way to GZ confident I was in the right place.
Thought about getting out the compass to get my bearings, hey the fog is still thick and the air is still. But made a guess and went straight to the hiding place. Thanks for the hide and bringing us here. A special part of Auckland I have never been too before.

I knew I had the right tree, but as alligatorsnz pointed out, it's up a bit higher than the clue suggests.
MatipoKatipo & I were getting different readings - by about 100m! I decided to follow her lead - and as we found it and she went to log it... I realised we had been on different cache hunts! All's well that ends well as we found both in the end
I did this at night with my headtorch, got out to this cache and realised I never had backup batteries, something I never do! Thankfully I didn't need them. It would have been a mission to walk back in total darkness. I will absolutely come back here in the day and bring my parents along for this walk. TFTC and bringing us here.
Great walk.. the wonderful thing about geocaching is going to places that you otherwise wouldnt.. this is a great walkway and a chance for a few smilies. . Tftc
Whoop whoop found it while kiwi was busy looking around wrong tree...... Great comfortable seat for signing the log..... But again had to be discreet (stealth like) as muggles were a plenty..... TFTC
Very nice location for a cache. Stopped of for a walk and ponder early morning before heading off for Oxfam 100km walk. Saw a 1m long fish in the pond! There are still 2 Kings in this cache. Tftc (no pen with me so no log ...
Found this while out for a run, not quite the location in the hint. I didn't have a pencil with me so couldn't sign log.
No pen on me, so log not signed. Might rectify later if I get a moment. Had a couple of looks, but once I worked out which direction was which, I was right.
Second visit worked a treat. It helped that my gps wasn't completely off this time, led us right to it!
Didn't have anything on us, so traded nothing.
Didn't have anything on us, so traded nothing.
little higher then the clue may have indicated - has it crept? still soon standing around looking innocent waiting for the muggles to clear or at least sit facing the right direction...
Didn't find this one. We found an empty container that we thought may have been it, but it looks as though someone found the real thing just after us.
So we'll have another look.
So we'll have another look.
Decided to go for a drive around Glendowie today and try to collect some geocaches in between the rain showers. Fortunately the rain had stopped as I pulled into the car park, so I decided to go for this one. Unfortunately this one took a bit longer than it should have to find. Reading the hint, it didn't quite make sense as there was definitely nothing at the base of the tree. However increasing the altitude a little bit soon exposed the cache. Thanks for bringing to this place. TFTC!
Another nice spot along the bay here, took some searching in the dark, but eventually bratnumber3 came up with the goods!
Took time in the dark but patience paid off. One of my favourite parks in Auckland, glad to see shine caches here.
It was getting dark and I must have looked round all the trees in the area but still couldn't find it! I'll be back as this is one of my regular running routes.
Found cache with Rediguana who was quick onto this one while in Auckland for the NZ Mega TFTC
Nice walk, quick find, and Donnelly lovely birds out today - of both varieties!
Cheers Gav

What a lovely location - and the large chair at GZ is fantastic and sooooo comfortable.
There was a family of muggles soaking in the view - we managed to scare them off pretty quickly.
Dad figured out where the cache should be, but it was Mum who located it.
The kids had fun watching a pair of Tuis playing in the trees.

Used my geo powers and quickly found the cache.
Picked up a TB to move on

#485 Found the cache VERY exposed and in a spot different from the hint. There was a family returning from the spit so we took a seat to sign the log and waited for them to leave before replacing. We returned it to the spot we found it but made sure it was well covered before we left. Dropped off a TB that wants to return to England. TFTC! Great spot!
Had to wait for some muggles to finish their family photos before we could start the hunt. 1 member decided to follow the GPS the other followed the hint. This is where reading the hints come in hand!. GPS was slightly out. TFTC

What a neat place this area is to visit, especially with the tide in. I found this cache not quite in the position that I was expecting. However I placed it back exactly as I found it.
helping a friend move into the area. Nipped down here just before it got too dark (didn't have torch). Quickly found with the help of previous log.
Blimey those ducks and pukeko actually chase you for food, which I didn't have. TFTC

Some stealth was required for this one as a large family were packing up their day in the reserve, but we managed it. After a change to our caching plans Davycrockpot and I ended up out here and took a walk around to grab the caches in the Nature reserves out here. A lovely afternoon stroll. TFTC
Found with Geco72 on a Sunday afternoon. Watch out for the muggles. Claimed a TB. TFTC.
Nice easy find for our first ever recorded find. *the hint helped alot hope to stop using the hints when we get the hang of it. Thnx.
TFTC Found this really big skeleton on the beach we could not see a skull because it was buried but we thought it was either a cow or a hourse! Pretty cool location and findS!! Probably not a good photo but we found the ribs and the spine if you can't see!
Took a wee hunt. Wasn't quite at the base as we thought. Put back where found. TFTC!!!
This one took a while to find as I had mis-interpreted the hint. There were no muggles around and it was blowing a gale out here when I arrived. My first time in this lovely area. TFTC.
Lovely walk on as good a day as this. A family just leaving as I arrived. Found after short search, re hid best I could.
TFTC and the walk!!

(634) Nice walk out with the family, some very friendly Chickens about.. TFTC

Nice quick find by Miss Geckoh - plenty of muggles coming and going, enjoying the lovely day. Took Geocoin to move along. TFTC

Cache has creeped is more NW than NE... but cache nice and dry, placed it the right way up so it remains dry. t4tc +TB
After FTFing a nearby cache, decided that I may as well find these caches, seeing as I was nearby.
Parked, and headed off! I had actually planned on finding these 3 caches in reverse order to what I did, but I must have taken a wrong turn somewhere on the path, as before I knew it, I was kinda on track to finding this cache instead... so there I went!
A nice walk to the GZ though. Place was completely deserted... but then again, who would be there at 7am on a cold winters Monday morning? So, I could search in peace. And at first I was a bit confused, but then found the cache safe and dry in the location the previous finder had described.

If your out here at low tide walk the Glendowie spit, it will get you three quarters across the Tamiki river
[Last week while doing some organisation for a Cubs photo scavenger hunt, I tried finding this cache but could not find it. On my return with the Cubs today, I found the cache and it contents had been scattered around on the ground. I've collected up the cache and placed in tree] north of the rubbish bin which has extra growth around bottom[. Hopefully you can find, repair and place back in the original spot. Cheers.]
