I probably picked the wrong side for the approach- steep slope and long wet grass. A quick find at GZ as the container was quite exposed. Signed log and replaced with a little more cover. It seemed an easier slope on the other side for my departure. Thanks to Bingley3683 for the exercise and the cache.

It's climbs like this that make you realise you are not getting younger or out of condition,

Went here at dusk with geokid. We didn't read the description and found ourselves climbing up and down steep hills and only 25mt from GZ but still impassable. Eventually I called it and said we need to get back to the car before dark. We'll try another time!

Out and about exploring the area with my Snuggle-Muggle. It's always nice to pick up some caches as well.
What a trek this one was. A hard climb up but of course, there's always an easy way back down. Adding a FP for the adventure.
Thanks for the geo-fun.

Suscoe headed out this morning to complete the O C R trail.
We were in the terrific company of Phetlern and we had a great time finding caches and having fun together out caching again.

It was a delightful day, mild with lots of sunshine.

Thanks to Bingley3683 for this hide, a tough start but the cache was found which was great. What in interesting location.

After completing the OCR series with our great friends Suscoe this morning, we spent the afternoon exploring the countryside and seeking jointly unfound caches in what appeared to be Bingley3683 territory around Eldorado, Chiltern Valley and Springhurst.
Naturally we found a less arduous way to return to the car.

Thanks Bingley3683 for placing interesting caches for everyone's enjoyment.

Found by edmil and Maddie 27/12/2018@ 3:46pm. Last cache for 2018 - not that we have done many this year. We hadn't intended to geocache but decided to see if there was one in the area- lo and behold this one popped up. It was a rather warm but an interesting walk to the geocache. Walked straight into quite a large spider web - not quite Lord of the Rings size, but big enough. Maddie avoided the area and left me to locate the cache. Found it easily enough, no swap was made but log was signed and cache returned to its hide. We both continued to explore the area a little further and were pleased to watch Mr Fox stroll around the lake until he spotted us and took off. If it hadn't been so hot we would have spent even longer exploring.
Thanks for the cache

27-Oct-18
All geocaches get me outdoors, and any cache may highlight ...Vistas, Flora, Fauna, Local Interests, Events & History. Perhaps even being a simple challenge. Regardless of a find or not, they are all unique and I sincerely thank the cache owner for placement of this one.

08-Jul-18
Easy find for geokids, after climbing three steep hills and falling a couple of times, finally found it

30-Jun-18
Another Reserve I have been to a few times a good spot to see Antechinus. Got into mountain goat mode and made the climb and signed the log - like the markers you have Bingley - TFTC

Been a while since I've been in this park area finding the the predecessor to this one. Certainly wasn't expecting the Gz to be where it was but luckily wasn't to wet and slippery. A quick look around and Gz became obvious.
Log signed it was off to find the other 2 close by.

TNLN , TFTC , Cheers.

20-Nov-16
Found by Mary & David at 1320. Followed the bird hide trail from the car park until we reached the second valley, which gave a fairly modest climb up to GZ. Found the cache there after a short search. Our thanks to Bingley3683.

09-Oct-16

A great day for a bike ride and a couple of easy caches. The kids enjoyed the walk for this one -although we did take the long way round in hindsight!!

23-Aug-16
I finished school at 3.30pm and had to be back by 6.30pm for Book Week activities. What else was there to do but go and find some tupperware in the bush. I headed out for a drive down this road and thought these two caches were worth a visit. Was an amazing view with a few birds around and the lake full. I'll tell you what though, if I was a flying insect watcher then I would be in my element.
TFTC Bingley it was another great spot

15-Jan-16
School holiday caching fun with TheClazzas. Parked in the car park (realised the gate wasn't actually padlocked on the way out). Wandered along the bird hide track following the kids until the arrow pointed up the hill! All 3 of us checked that we really had to go up there before we pulled ourselves up the steep slope. Got to the top & realised we had to do it all again! Up & down & up & down... Almost went past GZ! SL & returned as found. Now to work out the easiest way out with the 4 geokids. Tftc & the great info about the site. We continued on to the bird hide and realised on the way out that we took the most difficult approach to this one...

15-Jan-16
Was out for a day of caching with Wackyweedos and this was the first one for the day. After a bit of a stroll through the bush, up a hill, down a hill, up another hill, down another then up again we finally got to GZ and found the cache.

28-Dec-15

#3378 - 13:15; On the way home after a caching run around the Beechworth area with fitzy_1965 and Sol de lune. We were up early and after grabbing a couple of caches on the way out of Beechworth, we were headed for Chiltern to see how many we could find before we headed up the highway later in the day. We had headed out of suburbia and were now knocking over some bush caches. Easy parking for this one and after some debate as to the best route to GZ, consensus was reached and we were pleased to find we had made the right choice. On arrival, it was a nice quick find too before we headed back to the geomobile. TFTC Bingley3683 Smile

9619 + 1078 = 10697. Found during a trip down to the Beechworth region with Sol de Lune and LuckyL10n.

Up early on the third day of our trip and this was the next find as we hit Chiltern for a few caches on the way home to Canberra. Parked at the gate and it was a quick walk in and UP ! Quick find at GZ ! We signed, return the cache, and then we headed off to the next one.

Thanks again Bingley3683 !! Great Area for a Cache !

TNLN - TFTC !!

Cheers....

Found with fitzy_1965 and LuckyL10n while in the area for the weekend....

We drove around some of the roads in the area and had a bit fun. Managed to find the caches we went for but there are a couple that I want to come back on another trip. All was good here and the cache was soon in hand.

Thanks again Bingley for bringing us in here.....

20-Apr-14
#694 8th of 30 finds as we headed to the Chiltern area for a days caching. It was early afternoon and the best part of the day so we decided to walk this section of the Park to find this and another nearby cache. Headed off to the bird hide but soon realised we would have to detour to grab this cache, did a bit of bush bashing (no threatened flora or fauna were harmed) before walking up the steep side of an old mullock heap to gz, once there a short search and the cache revealed itself. The birds were singing and we were enjoying ourselves - tftc Bingley3683.

12-Jan-14
A challenging climb for 20 or so metres. Waited for GPS to decide which valley to search. Watch out for snakes. TFTC

1792. Just got Mrs K Back in the ute from the last cache 'Number 1 Dam' and we pull up here she reads Bird-hide - "Good Bye Chris" she says. So back to caching for me, I pointed Mr Garmin at the same track and he said go, after a distance walked the arrow pointed up a steep bank I walked a bit further and the terrain was steeper so I just Backtracked and made my way up the slope,
Yep UP it was and a couple of times backwards I slid,Twisted I'll skip the next bit which involved alot of up and down. till Mr Garmin said over there, I went around to over there then it said back where I was B$4 ( they do that alot GPS'S )
MMM that means it's got to be ####.
Finally the cache Container was uncovered and I had finally Nabbed it !!
signed log 5pm. replaced and covered the cache, Then about-turn back to the track,
alot more up and sliding down on my B##, Scotch Thistles and grass seeds in Socks, I was now at the track, The next problem Mrs K was at the bird hide a further walk, when I got there - It was useless trying to get her to Leave - We camped the night in the car park, and Mrs.K. had a 5am dawn viewing at the birdhide.
Bingley3683. - A most Excellent Cache ( & Birding ) Experience..

TFTC.

Great scenic cache. Glad we found the back path. Took chipmunk and left some small swaps. TFTC

05-Aug-13
Found a long time ago, but must have completely forgot to log it, until looking around for some more close ones in the area. It was a great spot for a short walk, and a good climb up the hill in some not so suitable shoes! Anyway, a quick find, then quickly back down the hill before the rain came!
Thanks Bingley3683

30-Jun-13
After ignoring the obvious GeoTrack up the hill for the more sedate path - given I had the Wounded Warrior with me - I soon realised I would have to go up and over - Typical me.......clambered all over the place coming at it from completely the wrong angle......ended up sliding back down the hill....and trying again back where we started from! With lots of encouragement from the Wounded one - who felt it best not to try the climb....I soon had the cache in hand with much relief Smile

Great spot with lovely views - happy to get this smiley face! TFTC Smile TNLN SL

I can watch birdies anytime I want on my travels Smile
I'm here for a cache.... so it was straight up the mountain for me today Razz
There's a few craters on top, so maybe it was a volcano ?
Or maybe not Smile
In one of the craters I found me a cache and could sign a logbook and take in the views over the lake.
Hey look there's a bird !!
A pelican no less Smile

I made this one much harder for myself by taking the direct route, long grass, steep slope, prickles etc. finally rewarded with the cache and aneasy return. TFTC

10-Sep-12
Well this one had us all over the place nothing was working right but it all came good and we located the cache a "steep" climb indeed (if your like me and impatient)but soon realised the not so "steep" decent would have been an easier climb !! TFTC

Made the journey out here in the 2WD Combo loaded with a weeks worth of camping gear & food. Plenty of ants about as we went through the gate and headed up the track. Towards the end it got a bit hairy as I had to give the Combo a boot full to get up the hill. But we made it Ok and then it was a short trek to find the cache. The lake in the distance made for a magic spot, although we could not help thinking that these hills might have had something to do with gold mining in times past. Thanks Bingley for the cache.

Please accept my apologies for "boilerplate logs" this week. Caching during the day and socialising at night leaves little time to do real justice to each cache log. Found today whilst attending OZ MEGA. Did the tour to Yackandandah and Beechworth townships picking up smilies and ten icon types. Thanks for the cache in such a wonderful area.

Found @ 12.20 pm

Had fun taking the new Prado up the track to the top of the hill with my son (glad my wife was not in the car lol)

2003. Found by baby&Mrs gopher at 1220.We decided to go find the cairns for the Major Mitchell series. This gave us the chance to find other caches on our travels.Getting to this location was just great fun as we came in through the forrest and along Peake TK.There was a big hole just as you enter the creek on the North side and about 18 inches of water in the stream.Mrs decided she didn't really want to go for a very short 4x4 drive so baled out.She just had to wait for baby to return.Well the mossies have to feed aas well.
