It is Sunday. and the kindergarten is a bustling place! Hordes of kids, and a blow up castle... I assume its a birthday? But I was around the back and everyone ignored me. Luckily I had part one with me, and had filled it with part two of the prerequisites at the nearby filler station. Many thanks to the CO for the suggestion.---I try to get every geocaching souvenir going, but this August challenge is looking difficult. Find 100 caches between now and 1 September? Luckily I have one spare weekend, so will use that to get the Dannevirke helmet. That leaves forty more caches to find... I need to get stuck in somewhere. I need to do some small geotrips. So the plan is to grab the bike and cycle-cache around Waikanae, Great! Except that I accidentally got off at the wrong station. Rather than wait for the next train I decided an impromptu plan change was called for and instead spent the day caching around Paraparaumu. The other problem is that it was raining. After the first 3 caches it got a bit heavier so I hid under New World's shelter for half an hour at which point the rain stopped. By 2pm I had finished with Paraparam and found myself cycling towards Paekakariki. I am all for that, but sometime then it is supposed to start raining again, and I was already feeling the early drops. I pulled the plug and went back to Paraparam, it being closer than Paekakariki at that point, and headed home. 25 caches found. Once I add the 61 for the helmet I should be pretty good for the souvenir! Sweet Of course, this means that next year's August challenge is going to be that much harder...
The title really says it all! Only found half of the puzzle originally - good thing I brought a second water bottle/pair of hands/brain...TFTC!
Came down from palmy to attend a power lifting comp for my brother. At half time we snuck out and found a couple cool caches. We were already prepared and knew what we needed to do. Didnt quite have enough water but in the end it was okay. Thanks for placing a more creative hide!I wrote in the log and placed the cache carefully back as found. TFTC. Thanks Rattlingdags for placing this Traditional cache! Rattlingdags , ! 5 May 2024 at 11:39AM#938th Find
#14,600. I decided to do a few hours of geocaching up the Kapiti coast today. I had been here once before but didn't have the right tools with me or sufficient water. Back today and it was all quiet at GZ. With some tape it made it easier to do this alone. But when the tube was fill there was nothing to be seen. So back to the car and found a small pill bottle. Have added a logsheet inside a plastic bag. Now there is something for people to find when they carry out the task. Thanks Rattlingdags for placing this cache here.
It was very fun, however the cache is not there. The original equitment is still there, so you could search for that instead!

Soooo exciting. Took the whole team of 8 of us ferrying back and forth to the scout hall.Dont forget your drink bottle
I don't think it is a challenging as it originally was. But what a cool area.
After attending an event this afternoon at Paraparaumu we headed back to Masterton collecting a few caches on the way. Came here prepared to do business. Cache wasnt too buoyant today and needed some extra help to rise to the occasion. Still enjoyed the find and collecting our smiley. Thanks
Last cache on our trip of the favourite caches in this area, cool find. Immediately saw the cache at gz, and poured water into it. Had to twiddle around a bit to get cache to float up. TFTC,SL
Thanks for your amazing cache. I really appreciate the time you took to set up and maintain your caches. Found with Fisha1288 After reading the previous logs I thought I knew about this. Guess who forgot my drink bottle. I then got my bottle and a waterproof log but when I used all of my fingers and thumbs there was nothing to put the waterproof log into. 3rd trip back to my motorhome to get a used small container and now it should be all good until ill gets smuggled again. Has earned a favorite from me. Cheers, Cympull.
While I had the main ‘thing’ I needed, I hadn’t thought of bringing all my geocaching kit with me, Matagouri was kind enough to offer the use of his finger and thumbs. The cache was easily grabbed and log signed before returning it to the hiding place. I do I like the top to protect the cache from the weather.
Kia ora rawa atu for the cache Rattlingdags.

That was fun, thanks. I have to laugh that a nearby pole has had to have its cap taped on, possibly too many people looking in the wrong spot.
Mission accomplished. On a short visit to my grandchildren I discovered this cache was right over their back fence. Armed with the items recommended we went on a treasure hunt. Quickly found the location but then the fun began. After 3 trips to the scout hall we discovered all the holes but fidgetty little fingers and excitement meant 5 unsuccessful attempts to access the cache. We didn't give up, just changed our strategy - back home for some tape and a large bucket to minimise the scout hall treks. After 3 more attempts we had the cache in hand and the rest is history. Definitely deserves a favourite point. TFTC
We had 4 times the resource needed and still failed altho it was obvious where we went wrong. When in doubt read the instructions! Resupplied nearby for success. Def worth a fave. Thanks Rattlingdags
A nice quick find of where the cache was. After 3 litres of water, still no smiley. Headed back to the car to give up, and spotted the refill zone, so gave it another go, especially after reading hint 2. Whew what a mission, and less than a litre needed. Thanks for placing your cache.
Ms_KR and I are off for a wee break "up north" and today we cruised around the Kapiti Coast. Cyclone Gabrielle has had little effect hear that I can see. There was light rain with some strong wind gusts in the morning and this cleared up in the afternoon..
Thanks to all CO's for publishing and maintaining their caches. .

Joined B and his folks for this expedition. Fortunately B had the necessary equipment and it was a quick retrieve. Love these kinds of caches - thanks for taking the time to create it, Rattlingdags!
Found the hide a few months ago but lacked the means to retrieve the log. Back up the coast today with the Olds in the Newmobile for lunch and to show them this geocaching thing, so came armed with equipment and friend. This cache was an appropriate fun container for their introduction! Except I released the water while the old man was standing next to it Thanks Rattlingdags, easy find and retrieval.
Navigation is a bit off but had lots of fun working together to run the contraption and get the cache
After a recommendation from Hamish.D I had to check this one out on the way home. What an awesome hide, very creative. Awesome way to end a weekend of caching. TFTC
A quick stop on the way home with JordanD125! Such a fun cache, minus the wet legs haha!
I found this cache several months ago, but realised that I needed two things before I could claim it: a particular set of tools/resource, and a time at which GZ was deserted. The optics of a middle-aged man around the back of a kindergarten are bad at the best of times! Driven by several times since, but GZ has always been busy, until today. Extracting the cache took only a minute or two, signed, and replaced. All good, although log slightly frail. Tftc!
Achieved it this time as I had suitable tools. log sheet is getting a little damp although it's still writable.
about time that i actually logged this My first visit ended in failure i had not taken the 'right' piece requirement to complete the task with out a lot of fuss but this time I was armed with perfect equipment to do the job and far less water required than my first attempt.
as there was no kindy today i felt alot easier doing the task than previously thank you for this cache

The site tells me I logged this off line so I hopenow to have done it correctly. I had to visit the site twice as I ran out of the necessary requirement and didn't have adequate resources to compete the task but this time it was easily achieved and I was very pleased to have this changed to a lovely smiley face instead of a blue glum face thank you for work to put this together and we'll worth a fav point from me . Thank you
What an awesome cache idea. HS and I came prepared with all the TOTT needed to catch this beauty. Lots of fun and frivolity was had. As well as trying to keep dry. A favorite from me. Tftc
All prepared with the grandson. Log is wet, might need waterproof paper for that one. TFTC.
Found it easily enough but did not have the friend required to access it. Will return with friend.
Fantastic idea for this cache. KTG and I spent quite a bit of time trying to get it to work. Eventually we managed to get all our fingers an toes aligned and we extracted the cache. TFTC
Super cool cache. I was glad and I were together - the two sets of hands were certainly helpful. Great fun. TFTC. KTG
i spent a good 40 mins trying to find this, but all i got was a nice contact rash and found some used nappies in the bush
Was accidentally prepared for this one as we are out training for an adventure race thankfully I had two buddies so lots of fingers and thumbs
Clever cache! You'll need all your fingers and thumbs to manage this one. Signed log and replaced where found. TFTC.
Went to the GZ last week and worked out what I needed to have on hand. Today arriving at the GZ the local fire department was giving the Kindy kids an education into their work with a fire truck on hand, plenty of needed material, I think but took enough of my own. Replaced the log sheet and added a new plastic bag. A fav point from me. Thanks CO for the cache.
This was quite the creative hide! Unfortunately the log was completely waterlogged, so I had to try my best not to damage it. Please come back to make sure the log stays intact. TFTC!
Very clever hide, unfortunately the log was too wet to write on photo for proof of find
Called in here on our way into Wellington. The lawns had been freshly mowed so we got lots of grass clippings on us plus a leg soaked during the task. But got there in the end. TFTC
Got wet doing this one and covered in grass clippings. Got it on 2nd try after getting more supplies and working out the trick. Tftc
It took a few trips to the Scout Hall and back before coming up with a solution that worked. Great cache, a well deserved FP. Thanks for placing the cache
I had already made a tentative attempt at finding this cache but didn't have the resources to be successful. I returned today with a plan which I feared wasn't going to work for a while I was pleased when I was able to make the grab. The paper is not in good shape but I have a pen that is able to deal with these types of situations and I was able to clearly record proof of my visit. Thanks, Rattlingdags, for the effort put in to create this cache.
Thanks Rattlingdags for placing this cache
Fortunately I was given a heads-up to take a litre of water and the hint told me I'd need an extra pair of hands too... I have seen similar versions of this cache style so once the steady hands were in place it was a straightforward extraction.
Understandably the logvwas quite wet but I was still able to make my mark.

I had an idea of what this cache would entail and was glad I was correct. However we weren't successful on our first attempt and had to run to the nearby scout hall to refresh our supplies - all whilst being taunted by laughing chickens! Glad to say we retrieved the cache on our second attempt, thanks!
