No cache in best spot available and plenty of DNF suggest muggled. Just goes to show how scarce Zebras are with this being the second 'extinction' in the region. Help is required to preserve them. Made a quick check on zebra habitat at the Online Biology Dictionary: http://www.macroevolution.net/zebra-habitat.html#.UuCSNxB9KUk (Can you spot the 'zebra' in this fast fact!)
Zebra habitat can include open plains, semi-desert, open woodlands, and even mountainous regions. This variation occurs because there are three types of zebra, Burchell's zebra (Equus burchelli), Grevy's zebra (Equus grevyi), and the mountain zebra (Equus zebra).¹ Zebras are found in the more arid portions of eastern and southern Grampians. Their range is greatly reduced from what it was in former times.

Having previously found this cache, we visited with a couple of other cachers yesterday. There is no cache in the spot we have found it before. I fear it may be missing.
I had found this one before I had registered a caching name. I am pretty sure it is missing as it was not here when we visited this evening.
I was in the area with the family and decided to check out of curiosity. I cant find it either and its not in the spot that I found it a few months ago.
DNF at 11:42 AM. No zebras, no cache. Just a nice spot for a cup of tea/coffee in the increasing wind.
Couldn't find rather annoyed , don't know if I looked at it a couple things looked like good hiding places but no way into them
We came and hunted game next to the waterhole in Ballarat. With patience and caution we hunted, only to be bested by our prey. Thanks for the hide. Next time we pass through from Adelaide we will try again.
My first "Did-Not-Find"-Log.
I search the whole House, but have no idea where the cache should be.
Anyway, greetings from Germany

Found, then spent time reading plaques on the boardwalk. Our dog sniffed around trying to find the zebras, but no luck. TFTC
Found this cache on a previous trip to Ballarat but failed to log it came back tonight to sign and log it.
After a nearby event I duct past this cache with storchburp. The cache was quickly found and returned. TFTC
Found with lionjrb at the august 21st event. The winds coming across Lake Wendouree on a winter night are freezing!
On the 29th of July 5LJ found our first cache. It was challenging in a good way. We thought we glimpsed a zebra but sadly it was a person wearing a zebra onesie.
I was having a coffee and a bite to eat indoors at a near by cafe and after checking my i-phone I noticed a cache within 100m. Righto who's with me on tracking down this one?....obviously the warmth and comfort of being indoors was more important than searching for zebras and a cache. So off I trudge into the blizzard like conditions as I look over my shoulder and notice my caching family take another sip from their hot mugs as they watch the rain lash the windows, needless to say a totally deserted gz greeted me and I was able to search freely with out any muggles insight. Found the cache and signed it out of view. No signs of any zebras either, maybe it was a bit late in the season. Thanks 64EH for the cache and story, worth a chuckle.
Stopped for a quick walk at the Lake en-route to visiting a friend in Ballarat.
Mozi was checking out the guns and I wondered if there were any caches nearby.
And so there was Reading the description for this one had us in stitches!
We'll have to finish the series next time we're in town. Maybe when it's a bit warmer too...

An easy find on a chilly Sunday morning. A great little place. Spent a bit of time finding my family's plaque on the boardwalk.

A caching expedition in Ballarat on the last day before travelling home. Number 7 found as we wandered around the lake. TFTC
Interesting little story! Found today while taking a walk around the lake during our visit to Ballarat. Took pirate TB, left All In One GC. TFTC.
Took us a while to do the drop after leaving Byron for Melbourne. Stella is enjoying the view of beautiful Lake Wendouree in Ballarat. Good luck with your onward journey and fingers crossed you pick up the 1st prize on your competition!!
Lucky we had the spit to ourselves and this made for a quick find.
Got some nice photos here too.
Many thanks for the hide.

Found with Drooling 4 Cache on a quick grab tour around Lake Wendouree. We caught the attention of a nearby fisherman, but we able to get the cache fairly easily. Nice spot!
What a beautiful spot, now that there is water in the lake.
Last time we were here there was no water to be seen, which was sad. We wondered where all the birds and fish went. It's lovely to see them back, and to watch the locals enjoying the area. Of course that means plenty of muggles, but we managed to locate, retrieve and replace the neatly hidden cache with no problems.
TFTC. We are really enjoying the great places to find them here in Ballarat.

Are on a family weekend away to Ballarat and have been doing some geocaching. TFTC
Glad to see the lake full of water again. We were here a number of years ago and there was no water in the lake! It is certainly a much more pleasant place to be now. Thanks for the cache and the great story!!
Quite a funny story attached to this cache. Thanks for the cache and the story! TNLN
Easily found with the help of my sister. I love this walk and always do a round while visiting with her.
A good find with lots of stripes in the afternoon sun but could not see any Zebras.
The lights from the zebra spotters came on at just the right time. No zebras around though
found the cache and watched lots of action on the water, but not a zebra in sight
thank you 64EH for the cache, I enjoyed the theme.

We arrived here in the late morning and soon had the cache in hand. Sort of have to do the same routine 4 times here! Luckily there were two of us.

What better things to do when you need to leave home because of a fire threat... go caching. A beautiful spot to sit and watch the smoke blow away. TFTC
Another one I had had difficulty with due to muggles but tonight was all clear. TFTC
Well I've heard some stories!! Maybe if I see a Zebra near by I can take a few hairs from its Mane to make a few Fly's for Fishing. This spot was many times the course used for the Commonwealth Fly Fishing Championships. Hopefully it will be back again now the fish are! A beautiful spot. SL TNLN TFTC
We found Zebra hunting on the 1st of July early morming on the way to an event and now our second Zebra cache was found the exact same way. Again there were no Muggles this morning and we had a relatily easy find. We were a bit dissapointed no Zebras came down for a drink while we were here, perhaps they were wary of the size of the gun not far off.
Thanks 64EH for the cache and the very amusing story behind it.
