Found with hubby Orth21 on a day trip from Nelson. Our last day in this area before heading south then flying home to Australia.
Found with orth71.
Lid was no where to be seen and the log was wet and full.
Signed were I could and replaced.
Had no extra paper to add a new log.

Left early this morning to go on a trip from Dovedale to Nelson to explore cool locations and pick up a bunch of caches along the way. This was one of the many caches we found.
Once upon finding the cache (good hide) we then realized that the lid was cracked and had fallen off in the middle... I suggest some maintenance on this cache would be a good idea. TFTC!

Thanks for highlighting this mighty sized tree, albeit denuded of it's branches! Climbed up the bank, circled the tree then followed the arrow. Ah, there then. T F T C liquorboy09
After the unsuccessful attempt on Saturday to procure a car for mrs capperz we needed to come back over the hill again to seal the deal. It was Nelson Day on Monday, and Waitangi Day on Wednesday so Tuesday looked likely so mrs capperz swapped her work shift and we set off just after 1PM. Atop the hill up from the Happy Valley turn-off we spied a [plume of smoke in the far distance that apparently had only just started.
After picking up the car and leaving it across the road at Tahuna beach I said we were off to Moutere Valley for a few caches on a loop up and around Mapua turn-off. This was all good and we set off along the back-roads with the billowing cloud just over the hill from us, but under our watchful gaze. Grabbed a double figure haul and all was good before heading back to Blenners and a clear sky over that way.

Took longer than expected but eventually we had the cache in our hands. We did not know whether this is private ground.
Tough find but managed. Tftc! Also, we are staying at the house in view for a few months and just decided to look for cash is nearby and was surprised to find one practically in the front yard.
Need to check on some earthworks and so was passing by.
A quick find with TregearP. All in good order, took nothing, left nothing, signed log and replaced as found.
All in good order and thanks for the cache.

Some impressive trees and needed to widen the search but SJT_NZ came up with the prize, TFTC
Another fun packed geotrip exploring Nelson with The Seagnoid, Toby and Zara. So lets go! Its drizzling today so raincoats and gumboots are the order of the day.
With shopping and lunch over, its still wet from above. So lets go visiting at Motueka - taking the long way - with a few stops of course!!
This one was being a bit elusive, but we finally snagged and tagged it. Cheers

I'm working on my calendar project, getting my finds up to five per day. I need to find a cache both Saturday and Sunday, and want to save the local caches for weekday requirements, so... geotrip!
Taybeedragon and I arrived Friday night. Today its raining. It rained all day. Non stop. Mostly just drizzling, so we went caching anyway.
It's after lunch now, my caching objectives done, and it's still raining. May as well go to Mot and see dad.Taking the Mot highway because a) it's nicer, and b) there are some caches to mop up along the way!
Took a bit of hunting but we got there.

I can finally say, almost 5 years on...we found it! Had tried this one at night last time and it has always bugged me that we DNF'd it. Still took a few minutes checking likely spots before I spied the hide, phew! Great to have this off the list, TFTC!!!!!!!!!!!!
This was one we had to bypass earlier today as there were too many muggles around - fruit picking season), but a late afternoon visit proved fruitful.
I thought I'd better start heading into work following an early morning dash for a (successful) FTF up the road, but the lure of a potential PnG was too great.
Having parked around the corner, as recommended, I spent a few minutes looking in the wrong places before trusting the GPS and widening my search area.
I spotted what I thought was some rubbish, but upon further inspection that seemed an unusual item to be dumped there. I'm glad I did as it was the cache container.
Thanks

Took a bit of scrambling around on the hillside before we finally found the prize. Thanks for the fun.
TFTC. Hardest part was getting up and down from GZ. Phone GPS being indecisive meant this took longer to locate than it should have done.
Holidaying in the South Island, grabbing a few caches on the way. Found while staying in this area. Thanks for the cache.
The box was empty. No log book, so I wrote on inside of the lid. Needs renewal. TFTC
Found easily this time. Nearby property owner Muggle assured us she is glad she knows about caching now. She used to be scared it was a local drug drop off point!
Found it ? Well found a container carefully placed near a gum tree but with nothing inside. The container referred to a granny's cure for smelly feet ! Is this the cache liquorboy09 ? If so thanks!
Tried for this when in the area last year but gave up, partially because on muggles children playing nearby. Also found diversion, then soon spotted the cache. Left a little more covered up. TFTC
What a busy road , thought i spotted cache straight away but not to be so after a wider search soon had prize in hand These trees are massive , Thanx4tc
Had a good long search for this one to no luck! Found a few suspect containers and enjoyed the birdsong tho so not all lost.
Thought I had it but no....hmmm....widened the search area and there it was. TFTC!!!
Feelt like I was in someone back yard as I ran up the bank, must have been some big trees..
[maroon]Day 4 of our 5 day Easter caching roadtrip. Today we were heading from Nelson towards the Mini Trail near Motueka, going up one way and coming back the other.[/maroon]
Easy find. Tiny logstrip for a big container though. Thanks for the cache

On a run down the Inland Highway and with a bit of time for a cache or two. Spent a bit of time exploring the fauna before finding this one, but all good in the end. TFTC
GZ turned out to be way more pleasant than I feared on approach, quick find and an enjoyable experience. TFTC!
Last cache for the day on a round trip through Tapawera and back through the Moutere. Cache was lying completely exposed so an easy find. It has been replaced with camo but probably needs something weighted to hold it in place. TFTC.
Parked as we should then took in the lay of the land. Just a small clamber took us to the cache. Found it exposed and covered best we could. The gums smelled the best today. TFTC
Busy corner, took a while to find while keeping the head down from passing muggles
Parked around the corner and walked up to cache. Found straight away, can get lucky sometimes
Twelve months on. Time to return to complete unfinished business. Quick find today.

Found it. An awful place to stop and a very section of road. Where is everyone going.
The cache could have been anywhere! The gummy gums meant that GPSr reception was not great and relieved when StreetWalker made the find.

#4065. Some impressive specimens on show here. Found after a bit of clambering round. TFTC.
Great tree. Talked with man from house close by, he was very nice & informative. TFTC
Our 6 year old granddaughter Bella enjoyed singing "Kookaburra sits in the old gum tree . . " while Poppa found this one. Thanks for the fun.

Found after a bit of a struggle around in a messy area - not so appealing to visit. However, the gums are impressive, and provided some shade on this hot day. TFTC
Wonderful old gums. These old codgers took the steep course to the site - in jandals = will they never learn to dress appropriately!!!! A really busy road. TFTC.
I am back in the south island again geocaching , I am doing a road trip with this Nana and Auntie and having Good time Thank for the Caches
dont know what all the fuss is about. theres a cache on the moutere hill a couple of hundred metres in a private forest and no one even thinks twice about that one. quick find tftc
I concur with some of the others, that is is unclear whether this is private land or not. I saw one of the survey pegs - if that is a corner, then the cache is probably OK, but if there is another one further towards the side road, then the cache may be on private property. Suffice to say, cachers should exercise caution. Cheers Gav [10297]
My 2nd attempt at this one. Not sure how I missed it the first time but ADV's log helped to narrow down the search area. I'd be a little concerned about the boundary issue here but no one seemed to notice my presence today. TFTC, Biggles.

The title of this cache had us giggling a bit, so were not surprised by GZ. A nice quick find in the early morning, barely a muggle around! TFTC

A short clamber and success. A few choices for where it might be but not too hard. cheers
Found it today but not before finding a boundary peg I hadn't noticed before. The cache was found approx 2 metres further toward the house from where the peg is so the cache really seems to be placed on private property which I had suspected after my earlier DNF. I agree with Marchwood, the gum stumps are likewise on private property. I hope the CO is not assuming the fence is built on the boundary? It is not always the case.
TFTC, but please check this placement.

No luck for us today. GZ had me on the concrete kerb. The gum stumps were on private property. Searched between with no sign of the prize.
Ironically we came here after retrieving our new cache up the road that turned out to be on private property which we hadn't realised. It felt like we might be pushing the boundaries here too but soon found the cache and made a hasty departure without encountering any landowners - phew. Thanks.
A quick find on a MSc mission
I know that some have had trouble with this, but no problems today.

I was driving past so reluctantly stopped to have another look. I still can't believe how quickly I found the cache so am absolutely perplexed as to why we didn't find it last time. #2459
Our first DNF after 11 cache finds of the night! We searched for ages but eventually gave up. We were here at night tho.
First time along the valley road since the cache was placed so stopped off today - luckily a quiet time of day on the road and at the house - cache soon found log signed thanks for the cache
Been awhile since traveling along here and with a nice quiet sunny afternoon. A quick grab and no-one in the close-by garden TFTC
