A couple of days on the other side of metropolis in the company of TeamAstro. Just met a fellow Intrepid Camper owner having passed her house on the way to this cache. Geocaching certainly gets me out meeting new people! Thanks pimpmyballoons for showcasing this area and contributing to this great game for myself and others to enjoy. Happy trails!

Quick find - I keep my horse Sadie around the corner and just went out to get her feet done & take her rugs off for the warm week ahead. Thought I'd quickly grab this one. Heard a beep as I was getting out of my car & my fellow cacher friends husband was driving past - I'd been sprung! He's a muggle but I think he's slowly being converted...
Be mindful of how soft the roadside is if you're pulling over - I have a 4WD & it was a bit slippery! TFTC ??

Second Mornington Peninsula cache

26-May-23
All this week I have been looking for the best coffee on the peninsula. It hasn’t been a fruitful search especially when the place with the best score on Google was closed this morning due to a family emergency.

So I looked for the next best score and that was in Shoreham. I was worried when I saw they also sold wetsuits and surfboards but usually places like this are gold mines.

I grabbed a coffee and left wondering why it wasn’t tipping into my mouth. That was because it had two lids and also the reason it was tipping on my shirt and not my mouth. After all that I was happy it was tipping on my shirt because it was horrid. Normally when you ask for a Flat White you get milk. All I got was two shots in water and a skank in my mouth that couldn’t be removed. We are on holiday and so are keen to support local business but don’t go to that shop is you like coffee. It wasn’t a great welcome to Shoreham. tftc

A great little pick up on the way down the Mornington Peninsula. The views along this stretch of the road to flinders are fantastic looking toward Phillip Island. TFTC.

19-Aug-22
We were heading over to Phillip Island to ensure we were there for the start of the Great Victoria Cache Crawl. We caught the ferry from Queenscliff and had laid ourselves a cache trail to follow around to Phillip Island.

The weather was great for caching as the sun was out and the wind was merely a gentle breeze.

We didn't find all caches along this road, but this one was one that we did. It was getting closer to dusk as we pulled up to find this cache.

We found the cache safe and sound, Thank you -Lisette- for this cache and to pimpmyballoons for adopting and maintaining this series.

Nice little find

Find # 10886

Found with sharkiefan.

The task for today was to tackle the Jack Speak series and a few around the area.
Despite the morning drizzle we still managed to make the Jack Speak finds along the road. Even with a DNF we still managed to work out the final.
Then when the rain passed and the sun was out we done more exploring and finding quite a few "Welcome to..." cache at each town we passed coming back up.
Throwen in was a couple other puzzles we had solved.
A fun day had over on the Mornington Peninsula with a total of 45 smileys for the trip.

TFTC -Lisette- (now adopted by pimpmyballoons)

14-May-22
Found with FUF009.

Jack Speak Day.
We had planned this trip a while ago and had the puzzles solved even longer ago.
Depsite the wet weather and gloomy looking day, we decided to head out and have a crack, prepared to give it up if it became too miserable.
Pleasantly we ended up with some beautiful if not windy weather and had a great time out this end of the state.

Some of these "welcome to..." caches were on the list, and others were added along the way as they all were pretty good caches and I became somewhat obsessed with finding all the ones we came across. Tftc

24-Apr-22
Great hide

20-Apr-22
I went out with Jetsons23 today to try and tackle and maybe finish the Jack Speak series and grab a few others along the way.

I just got back from the Townsville Mega caching in 30 degree humid days and I welcome the very cool weather here today.

Thank you for the cache here -Lisette- and pimpmyballoons

20-Apr-22

A nice day for a drive down to some as of yet unexplored areas of the Mornington Peninsula.
A little rain while in Somers but it cleared up and ended up being quite nice.

Fourth find here and no trouble at all.
Cache was found with lid open, so signed and closed up tight before re-hiding.

Thanks

Quick find, all in order, dropped a tb.

31-Jan-21
After being welcomed to Point Leo with a teeny cache, I noticed this one not far away.

A little detour was made and it was a quick find.

Now on to the popular general store, that I am told stocks local wine, cake and art - what more could one ask for?!

Thanks for the cache

Nice quick find today on my way back to work now that we can do some of these now. Made sure to wear gloves as I handled the cache. Tftc

05-Mar-20
Managing to park at the side of the road practically five metres from ground zero, I was hoping this would be a much quicker search than the last Welcome to cache. The cache was spotted almost instantly although well hidden. Signing without being seen by passing traffic seemed difficult. Returned for the next finder. I do wonder how many of this series I've now found and if I can in turn complete them. Thanks for placing these Lisette.

Busy road today but all good.

07-Sep-19
We thought we would do a few caches around here today, but with intermittent heavy rain it wasn't that great a day for it. This being a drive-by though, made it perfect. When we found it the cache was in full view, so when we re-hid it we made sure it couldn't be seen. Thanks for the hide.

It was leafotwind's idea to see if we could knock off the Jack Speak series (which he'd done the virtual hard yards on), and maybe turn the outing into a 50+ day. I provided the vehicle as he's, er, between cars at the moment, and despite the weather not quite cooperating, we achieved our goal, and some.

Only one DNF, which is pretty darn good considering my usual blindness to one particular kind of hide which happened to predominate this afternoon.

-Lisette-, thanks for a fun trail of caches.

11-Mar-19
I had solved the series some time ago and had always intended to try and combine it with a couple of the shorter series' put out by other cachers to achieve a tally of 50 for the day. I thought some company might be in order both to add to the fun as well as provide a separate set of eyes. Nirgalagrin answered the call and a good thing too! He dialled in a little earlier than I and a number of those bisons might have taken a lot longer without him!
We did end up hitting 50 for the day and amongst those found the only 5/1 trad in the whole of Victoria by happenstance!
Thanks to all the COs who placed these caches for everyone to enjoy and indeed in the case of the Jack Speak series have maintained them for all these years.

10-Mar-19
Found whilst in the area for the long weekend and after completing a short geo run along the local rail trail. Unfortunately I read the name of the cache and pulled up too short in the location I assumed it would be in....! Back in the car and another 70m down the road and we soon had the cache in hand and approaching GZ from a different direction. Signed log, replaced cache and back to camp for us. TFTC

Every day before the Melbourne Cup public holiday, work completely closes, so that gives me a paid long weekend. The plan with this day off was to hit the Mornington Peninsula.

I parked about 80 meters away in a nice big location for the car. The benefit was that the cache was seen from a distance to way I approached.

Thanks for the cache -Lisette-

01-Oct-18
Over the long weekend I was at Scout camp at Clifford Park with two of our boys whilst the rest of the family were at Flinders. The camp finished on Monday morning and since it is school holidays I drove the scout boys there to spend the rest of the hols at Flinders.

I was feeling pretty rotten with flu, so after the drive I spent most of the day before I had to go back to Melbourne in bed.

Despite feeling average, I decided to pickup a few drive by caches on the way back. It was too good opportunity to pass.

This one was my first stop and it was pretty quick find. I signed the log, TNLN and went on my wobbly way to Welcome to Pint Leo.

TFTC, Lisette

17-Feb-17
Today I had the day off so I decided to go and have a big day of caching around the Flinders to Balnarring area, with the goal of clearing this area out. With me have to attend a Welcome back party for one of my friends who was studying abroad for a semester. Anyways sadly my day was cut short as I had to drive around and do some surprise errand in the afternoon. Anyway this cache was quickly found with little to no hassle. I would like to thank you for the cache and the adventure.
