The time has come to archive this series. I apologise to the Christchurch Geocaching community for letting it fall into disrepair. If you have found some of the caches and not others, and you want to find the final, email me the codes you have already got and I will reply with the location of the final (if you have emailed previously for help with this series and I haven't replied, please email again). I will archive the final at the end of the year. Regards, Dan.

The cache will be replaced, can't say exactly when at this stage though. Been a bit busy recently.
As there's been no cache to find for months, I'm archiving it to keep it from continually showing up in search lists, and to prevent it from blocking other cache placements. If you wish to repair/replace the cache sometime in the future, just contact us (by email), and assuming it meets the guidelines, we'll be happy to unarchive it.
Just a nudge to the CO: This is one of 5 in the series I still need to complete it. Also need to get Burnside, if you're out replacing missing caches
I'd hate to see the reviewers archive this for lack of contact
Cheers

Despite two attempts, before and after lunch, we just couldn't locate this one.
An entertaining spot, popular today with the coast to coast finishing here later today.
Quick find before a beach BBQ with some buds. Lots of surfers out today which made it a tad trickier. TSLO!
It has been a long while since I was last out at Sumner. Today, I used the cachemobile rather than the bike as I intended to also find some of the caches higher up in the hills behind Sumner. All the Mr Whippie vans were along the beach front today doing a roaring trade in ice creams. Very nice too. This cache, one of the last of the series that I had yet to find, was found in good condition. The number was confirmed as being what I had deduced earlier. Thanks for the cache and the series.
Ooh, fun, a new adventure. This was our first of the series, so we'll try to find the others in time. TFTC.
It took us a little while to find it. We're excited to go to all the suburbs. TFTC.

Second one of this series... I really do wonder how long it will take to complete... but hte exciting part is, FIRST CACHE OF 2013 for me!!!
We decided to go to spend our New Year at the beach. We spotted some people with a bonfire, and thinking it was awesome and what we would have done had we been any organised, we joined and hung out with them. Heaps of other people came and went, and we had a ball! Yelled the countdown, and then jumped into the water for a midnight swim! Was fantastic! Probably the best New Years so far. We then went and warmed up by the fire before saying goodbye to our newly formed friends and heading off to find the first cache of 2013!!
Closest one to where we were, and part of this series I will complete one day, so a good choice for find.
It took us quite a while to locate the hint item, and even when we did, my mate took a look and said it wasn't there. We searched for a wee bit longer, but still no luck! So then I went back to the hint place and took a look, and it was there! My mate must have just missed it!
So the two of them sat on the wall looking guard for passing muggles while I squated and signed the log...
As I was signing though, I heard these people coming past, and one of them looked over the wall, (They were on the other side) and said, "AH! The New Years Squat!!" And the bunch of them had a bit of a laugh, and so did my mates... I tried to fight in defence and yelled No!! Not even!! But they didn't believe me, and they had already kept on walking not wanting to stick round... awkward!! But at least they will not go to GZ now... and they didn't know me, so it's alright... LOL!
But YUS!! Only took me 49 minutes from the strike of midnight, and I had a cache for 2013!!
TFTC!!

My mate and I initially thought that the cache had been muggled, as a plastic bag with the geocaching disclaimer note was sitting on top of the bark garden; we ended up locating the actual cache and put the log back in the plastic bag with the disclaimer note before putting it back in the hiding spot. Thanks!
Easy find once the hint object found

Quick easy find on my way past on a cracker day. Another one down on the list. Thanks for the effort in placing.
Nice sunny day and not many people around - perfect! The log book has recently been "signed" by young muggles too.
6th one today was hidden very well ran into some fello hunters looking for this one

Day one of the trek south to the NZ Mega, our fifth cache of the trip.
After checking out downtown Christchurch, it was time to hit the coast. My thanks to dan.rielly for the cache.

Another easy find, on a fine sunny day, while avoiding school-holiday 'muggles'. Another one in the CSGQ Series. TN:LN. TFTC. #107 for us.
Beautiful day to be out this way, a day of unfinished business to settle. When first started this quest, didn't think we'd ever finish the series but now the end is nigh after visiting the suburbs of Chch. Great concept!
A nice day at the beach, luckily it's a weekday or the place would be crowded! After re-reading the hint discovered I was almost standing on it.
Must be nearly ready to tackle the final ...
Thanks.

A great cache to find as we walked off a big brunch from Joe's Garage. Introduced geocaching to a few mates and I suspect have them hooked on this outdoor game.
TFTC - will keep an eye out for the other caches in the CSGQ series.

Read clue... looked around... scratched head... checked clue again... rummaged some more... 'a-haa' moment... found it!
I went again with Denise after the maintenance and could find it pretty easy. TFTC
The cache was put back in the wrong place, I have changed the hint to make sure it is put back where it belongs.
I am planning a cache maintenance run this weekend, so I will have a look at this cache.
Together with Denise (she found it).
The film canister was just lying on the floor. Not really hidden. Maybe someone has to check this catch.

269 I haven't been to this area since before the earthquakes so it has been an interesting experience seeing the damage here. I visited Cave Rock with MacPacMum and I was good to collect another in this series. I'm slowly getting them done! There was a bit of a bite to the wind this afternoon but there were six brave surfers out in the waves although they weren't surfing. I really enjoyed my walk on the beach though. TFTC
Stayed about 30m from this one last night, made sense to come and claim it today.... Cache was exposed, and highly likely to be muggled if not re-hidden or relocated by CO.
Moved in 38m away while our house is repaired, have looked a couple of times but always people about. walked straight into it today! was a bit exposed so I tried to cover it up a bit more!
We almost gave up on this one. Just as we were leaving grandchild #1 exclaimed 'What is this?' And it was found.
First cache on our trip down south. Cool crisp evening with a couple of keen surfers out.

yes clue spot on. Had to be very stealthy as lots of people around on such a great winters day. TFTC
Well hidden, clue extremely helpful. Stood on it twice. Having my geolings were helpful too. TFTC, only 2 to go.
Came for a walk here with a friend after coffee at a nearby cafe in Sumner this afternoon. The cache was a quick find - signed log, TFTC!
Down from waikato for a short holiday. Found with fiancee and her girls. Both budding geocachers. Tftc
So I'm standing there struggling with this one, aaaaaannnnnnnddddddd the "non geocaching, and mildly intolerant wifey, suggests "try that" - bloomin heck. She's getting smarter than me. All good.

An easy find after jumping over the wall and avoiding a constant flow of muggles, TFTC!
The old strategy still works: Amid heavy muggles, observe closely and note anomalies. When the coast is clear, investigate. TFTC.
Another lovely sunny day - had bunch at the Scarbourgh Cafe, and then went for a stroll. Cache is currently located right by a works zone.

After a lot of looking I finally had to have a peak at the hint then straight onto the cache. TFTC. Cheers Bo
Out and about for a wet, windy, cold but fun family adventure. Grabbed a couple caches up in the hills & decided to come down in to Sumner. Cache quick to find.
Windsurfers making the most of the wind & waves - getting up some great speeds!

Had to wait for digger driver muggle to move pipe along grass then headed straight in and found cache quickly. Kiwicampnut
After a few failed attempts to introduce Nick to caching, we got this one after fish and chips on the beach. TFTC From N. Ireland
My Highland Pipe Band played for an hour down the road and I figured, since I'm here, why not? Having done a few in the series, I thought this would be easy. Can anyone else spell "complacency" as well as that???
Had some time to fill in before a movie, took one of my Muggle friends for a walk. Great hide. TFTC.
Decided to take a drive on this wet and cold day to Sumner. So sad the state of affairs around here. Massive containers to hold the cliffs at bay. On the plus side there are still some lovely properties, particular opposite the cache site. Made an initial mistake about which side of the fence to be on but then I spied the hint item in question and all was sweet.

We were down here to be at the finish of the Coast to Coast and had an hour to wait for our man to come in so a very enjoyable walk culminated in a quick find.
Our man came fourth in the longest day on his first attempt which we thought was pretty good even though he wasn't that happy.
Really nice day here today. Lots of surfers.
