Hi bumandworker
This geocache was brought to my attention as being in need of an owner maintenance visit and after my previous reviewer note, there has been no owner response. The cache owner needs to check on this cache ASAP and either replace it or archive it, after picking up any geo-litter. See the [maintenance section of the Geocache Listing Requirements/Guidelines](http://www.geocaching.com/about/guidelines.aspx#listingmaintenance).
I've added this cache to my watchlist, and I will check back in four weeks to be sure that the maintenance has been done. In the meantime, I have temporarily disabled this listing. When the maintenance is completed, the owner can enable the listing by clicking on the link below the cache name to return it to active status.
Whatever your intentions, please **post a note** here on the cache page (not email) to let us know that you are still active and maintaining the cache. If a month passes without seeing a response, then I'll assume that this listing should be archived.
Please note, that if a cache is archived due to lack of owner maintenance, the cache is unable to be unarchived.

Had a good look around for this one and hadn't realised there were a few previous DNFs or would have checked if CO wanted a replacement dropped in. We probably searched for longer than normal but it was a nice break from the uphill.
One upside from the recent lockdown period is that it gave me the opportunity to think about some day walks and overnighters that I've wanted to do for a while but never got around to. So, with NZ regaining some sense of freedom I set off for one such walk - the Mount Robert circuit.
Less of a DNF, more of a couldn't have a decent look due to traffic.
Next time...

We were searching for a while but when we found it, the cache seemed so obvious!! TFTC
GPS took me on a wild goose chase for this one but finally found it. Could use a new log book tho
And its up Pinch Gut track Slowly. Stopped of here for a much needed rest to get this one snagged and tagged. Cheers
Zara and I are off for some much needed tree time, with Lake Rotoiti on my agenda for today. Spent a fabulous time Friday and Saturday walking around Lake Rotoiti. Today my sights are set on Mt Robert. So lets go. Started from Buller River Bridge at 6.20am to finally get back to Zara at 2.30. Then decided to return home after a stop at Karens for an ice cream. Its been an amazing weekend.

My 3rd or 4th time past this cache with two failed attempts this time I was determined to find it. Even with some muggle friends helping I was not having much luck so had to phone a friend for help. I’m now very embarrassed to say that I found the cache that is so plainly obvious in the first place talk about looking in the forest and not seeing the trees. Tftc
Thank you Gail for explaining to me how to find the cache

On my way up Mt Robert today and as we were the last finders thought a check on this cache would be prudent.
I can say 100% that the cache is still there tucked away nicely.

Andy headed off up the track to start looking for this one, while I huffed and puffed up behind him. When I arrived at GZ he was still looking, so I joined in the search. We checked the description, checked the recent logs, checked the hint, checked the GPS and were still having no luck. A couple of muggles went by while we were looking, so we had a wee break for those times. Went back to the hint and broke it down. Ahh, that may mean something else - yes that's feasible. Next section of hint fits and so does the third. Finally get down to within 4m of GZ using the phone. What's that under those leaves? A rock and a cache. All up probably about 10 minutes of searching and the longest time for the whole day. Log signed. tftc
Paddle chick were heading back down the hill after spending the weekend up Mt Robert .We searched for ages but couldn't find the cache
Tftc ... hard to get the container out of that spot ... impossible to sqeeze it back in ... so putted it in an other hole not far from where I found it and covered it with a small stone to make it not as visible
Thank you! A little tricky at first to find and a great test to get it out of the hiding spot! I found a skinny stick to be key.

Our Christmas this year was spent with the very very extended whanau, introducing the overseas portion of them into Chrismas in the bush.
Final stretch and suddenly lots of caches! We ran up ahead & made all the finds while the slower end of the group were still making their way down!

Heading away for a few days with the extended whanau for a bit of hiking and some caching on the way, signing the log books as Team Polak for all of us. Last day of walking out and heading back home. Amazing scenery along the ridge that we had to follow as it bears the name of one in our party! great views, high winds, but rain went away, and we had a ball! Now for the downhill part to drop down back to the car. TFTC!!
Hier machten wir eine kurze Rast und fanden die kleine Dose. Thanks for the Cache.

Nice one bit hard to get out but tftc. Out with the family walking up Mt Robert again TFTC
We are keen geocachers on holiday from Tauranga and grabbing a few smileys as we go. Walked up Paddy's track then down Pinchgut and had a wonderful walk. Hunted and hunted for this one, but no luck.
We had two wonderfull days in the Nelson Lakes National Park. We stayed at the very new campside called teetotal, basic but nice. On the second day we did the popular hike to mt roberts and the other way down to the carpark. We found some nice caches but also had two DNFs, but their probably gone.
We had to search here for a while! Once we found it we had some problems to take it out. After a break due to some muggels we made it!
Thank you very much for this nice cache on this beautiful hike!
Greetings from Switzerland , Team Fludia

Animal biscuit conundrum happening on this seat, which animal to eat!!! While Master Sharpe was deciding what animal he wanted to eat, Mr Sharpe went off to find the cache. Mrs Sharpe however walked over to a likely spot and cache was quickly found. Now to get it out of it's hidy hole!
a quick grab at start of family outing up Pinch Gut. hoping to get to top between showers but had to turn round near top due to heavy hail! TFTC
Ninalila and I spent a few days visiting around Nelson's lakes and Karamea.
We went hiking to discover nice places and landscapes, and of course play geocaching at the same time
We found all the boxes without difficulty and discovered really good spots for photography.
We will keep good memories from everything we saw (Lake Rotoiti, Lake Rotoroa, Mt Robert, Moria Gate Arch, Mirror Tarn...)
It was a good opportunity to see a lot of native birds on each tracks we went.
So surprising to see them so close and get great pictures
We signed on logbooks with our team nickname : Lekiprokos
Thank you to all owners and their boxes for the discoveries we made.

fefe.adrien and I have visited the Nelson's lakes during few days and spent a great time.
Nice to see a preserved fauna & flora at the lake Rotoiti, many birds were so closed ! Nice waterfall at the lake Rotoroa.
Geocaching was perfect for walking and tramping around, especially the Mount Robert : such a nice view from the summit !
All of boxes were quite easy to find and well maintained but to many boxes found to make the difference in each log.

Day 6 of an upper South Island holiday from Rotorua with sveppi. Started the hike on 995 finds so I will hit 1000 before lunchtime! GPS coordinates were out for me by about 12m taking me too far. Hint could have applied to about 25 objects so took a bit to find. In the end sveppi spotted it, keep it simple and stay on the track even if the GPS tells you otherwise.
On holiday with fanfan-77 who is on a mission today to reach her 1,000 mark. We don't chase numbers but great caches in good locations. Our track for the day is the Mt Robert loop... and the weather is looking good for it. Made it hard for ourselves here until I put the GPS away and looked in a more obvious spot. TFTC
Looked for this on the way up to Lake Angelus hut without success. Tried again on the way down. Turned out I was searching too high above the seat area, was almost on the point of giving up when it was spotted much closer to the track than expected. Thanks for another smiley along the track b&w. Like the title!
Found on our half day hike to Mt Roberts on the occasion of Nasenbears 50th anniversary. Super tip, super cache. thanks
This is the beginning of an overnighter to Angelus Hut with a group from work - all but 1 are also geocachers that have previously found this cache. I had struggled with this a couple of weeks back when alone - but with the right help here today - cache was located and signed. I suspect everyone was pleased for the rest on this nasty climb up here - specially with heavyish packs on.

Mrs Kiwimykl (GC name NZDi) had had a cr@p week at work and needed to de-stress. When NZDi needs to de-stress, she climbs mountains and today she suggested Mt Robert. Knowing this would be a physical challenge in her current state, I suggested perhaps we do some of the more gentler tracks out at Pelorus Bridge but NZDi wasn't having a bar of it as she needed something more serious to de-stress.
So I did a quick pocket query on St Arnaud caches and loaded them into the eTrex, we packed a lunch and some GC essentials, got into some appropriate attire and headed up the valley to de-stress. Arriving at 9.15am, the aim of the day was to clear as many caches as we could on the Mt Robert Paddy's/Pinchgut Track circuit and see how we went from there.
We did the circuit in a clockwise direction figuring we would have Paddy's Track pretty much to ourselves on the way up and may meet a few others coming up as we went down the Pinchgut and we were pretty much on the money with that assumption. Accordingly this was our 12th of 15 caches on the circuit and 13th of 16 caches overall.
This was the most frustrating cache of todays little expedition, I took the hint the wrong way and went looking in the totally wrong direction and then we were disturbed by group upon group (five in total) of slow walking, inappropriately dressed for an alpine walk tourists and kiwis meaning we spent far too long looking for this treasure. However, just as we were about to give up and admit defeat, NZDi saw something a little out of place and we found the cache. Then we had to retrieve the container which turned out tobe easier than we thought. For a change this was not a typical B&W cache hidden under a pile of stones, so for that, as well as the frustration factor and for all the other B&W caches we have come across today, I will award a FP

A weekend trip up to the Nelson Lakes with G H 6 7 1 0 and the Seagnoid was planned with a couple of days of the weekend in one of the work baches not far off the lake side in Rotoiti/ St Arnaud. Targets were set; get the Seagnoid past 4000 caches, get more than 50 a day for G H 7 6 1 0, and get me past 3200 cache finds. Also in target was some tramping, some boat caching (grabbing whilst moored as close as safely possible to G Z) some 4 W Driving and some basic park and grabs. We also wanted to get all of the puzzle/unknown caches in St Arnaud as well as 100% of the multi caches in St Arnaud (cache Tectonics!). There was driving, boating, walking, rain, mist, sun, ducklings, eels and trout, sandflies (of course), beech trees and great views. Fun and sweat (no tears), a wasp sting and over 100 caches found for me. We all surpassed our targets and at the end of 2 full on days we returned to a cooler Blenheim than when we left tired out.
The last day of January and this January has probably been my most prolific with lots of great South Island caches, with a handful of N I ones thrown in for good measure. Todays plan is to start with some P &Gs, then off up the Pinch Gut for a nice tramp, then back to the car.
Getting to this point of the track and we were ready for a seat, sadly it was too damp to sit on at the time we got there. Quite a good day to walk, up and amongst the mist, quite cooling.
Snaffled out of it's hidey hole and on we go

[green] Capperz decided that this was the weekend for a marathon run on St Arnaud. Not sure why, except that base lodge there had a cancelled weekend and was free to grab. So he, I and GH6710 had an interesting time caching the surrounds. Rained on and off. The wet long grass meant that I had wet feet for the entire trip. Saw the insides and tops of clouds, some great views, lotsw of rabbits (or maybe just the one, many times over - it always did the same thing: safe on the side of the road, it decides to runs across just in front of the car). Also got to see robins, sandflies, no keas, sandflies and more sandflies. We managed to get GH to break his 50/day record, and over 120 for the whole trip. Saturday we climbed half way up Mt Robert in the morning then boated around Lake Rotoiti in a little yellow plastic dingy for the afternoon. Sunday was lonely cache day - some over 10 months since their last find. Many of these found with GH's 4x4, bumping over some very rough roads, my first real experience of four wheel driving. What an awesome weekend!
Climbing the hill in the cloud. At least it is not as hot as it has been! In fact, this is pretty much my perfect tramping weather. See photo.

Tricky to get out. I found the right tree but my fellow cacher "ambushed" me! TFTC
Well, I could see the cache, but getting it out took some persuasion and gentle poking. Slowly making our way up.
Thanks for the cache.

Our day on Mt Robert. Much anticipated. Car out to Mt Robert Car Park, up Pinchgut to Relax Shelter, across to Bushline and then down Paddys. A warm down along the Lakeside track. Managed 25 cache finds. A great day out.
This was #8 for the day. We eschewed the opportunity to sit, who would need that? Ha! Lies, the seat was much appreciated by this stage of the affair.
Cache find was a bit tricky on this one and we spent a bit of time in various spots before nailing it. Although not unhappy by the enforced rest period as a consequence. Cache in order; log signed, then safely re-hidden, just as found.
TFTC found with team cacher Sweet P too
The Turtle strikes again!
A note of appreciation to the cache owners in and around St Arnaud. We have encountered only one DNF in our first 2 days of caching in the region. Caches discoverable, in good condition with logs intact and signable. Altogether good caching. Thank

After the heavy rains of the morning had stopped and the sky cleared a bit, we started the Robert Ridge Walk here. Beautiful hike with amazing views, even in not ideal weather conditions. Unfortunately, on the way down, my group was too fast, so that I had to leave out two caches. Nevertheless, many nice finds today. TFTC
#8575. Zig-zagging up the ridge was hard work, and we were pleased to reach the seat to have a break, and refuel. Great spot for a cache. TFTC.
We are in St Arnaud for two nights and decided to take advantage of the good weather today to have a walk up Mt Robert as the weather forecast for the weekend is not great. Decided to take the anticlockwise circuit as the only thing worse than a steep ascent is a steep descent on a gravel track.
I was looking forward to the seat, then we noticed 2 people catching up with us so were keen to get to the seat and stake our claim before they got there (it turned out they were quite fit and in no need of a breather).
After finding the cache (StreetWalker did the searching while I was collapsed on the seat), we had our lunch here while enjoying the view. TFTC.

Took longer to extract from it's hide than it was to find. Greatful for the seat TFTC

Very few people were making the climb today- probably due to the rainy weather. We dropped the packs on the bench and got to work looking for the cache. Nice hide!
Yeap. But which side? Hint doesn't specify... This was not easy. Thanks for longer rest.
Today I did this tour around Mt. Robert with heaps of geocaches! Had lovely weather with beautiful views! Thanks for the geocache from a German geocacher

Found with Emvy_us & Britty-beee! as we enjoyed an afternoon walk up to Mt Robert and around Paddy's track. TFTC, #6028
Fortunately it didn’t take long to spot a giveaway sign as to where this little cache was sneakily hiding, although it was difficult to extract. The seat seems to have survived the calamity which befell it. TFTC
Found on a quick walk up Mt Robert. I was needing a rest by the time I got to here so TFTC.
3rd cache ticked off on today's cache raid on Mt Robert. Legs are good, guts are good, heart is beating (a little faster). Nothing pinched my seat. Saw a tomtit.
Very pleased with the more gentle route that we took today. Didn't even make use of the seat for the admin. The last find of your caches today - thanks so much for all your contributions to make the day so memoriable. TFTC #4518
Mrs SoBad suspects she would have used the seat if she had been heading up - but no need as she was heading down. A quick find as something familiar was spotted where the GPS pointed.
Thanks.
Thanks.
VERY hot today for my annual cache maintenance circuit. Nice to have some others to find here. Had to wait ages for a couple of older walkers to finish reminiscing about their many trips up here in their younger days! TFTC. J&G
Was glad to find the seat, legs were hurting already. A long way to the hut still. Took a while but cache finally found. TFTC. Found with Marchwood and Wildeybeast.
Off to Angelus today. Took us a while to find. We didn't realise that we didn't need to leave the track. It gave Ms M time to catch up and the rest of the team to enjoy the view.

A fine day forecast so a trip up here was decided. A great day on the mountain despite showers circling us. Plenty of snow on the top still and walking through it mid calf deep at times. No muggles to be concerned about but sat briefly anyway. TFTC.
The forecast was finally good for a day's caching on the mountain with Holymu. Good to see the seat is still servicable. TFTC

A few inquisitive muggles wondered what we were doing, then we spilt the beans. They went on their way quite happily.
Started to wonder about this one after looking for a while when a revlet let out a cry
Lots of people on the track today some of whom decided to stop a few metres away for a chat. Fortunately not for too long so we could continue the successful hunt.
A quick find - first of the day in great weather on a walk in to Lake Angelus. I had found the ones lower down on a previous visit. Signed log, TFTC!
Haunted during Paddy's Track of course.

FTF wohoo. Shared the find with Biggles today. We had to walk up from the Buller Bridge as the road to the car parks was closed. The cache was located by Biggles after a few nervous moments checking other spots, plenty of snow about still, eventually thought "now where would bumandworker put it" and there it was. The seat proved useful for donning the crampons before heading further up. TFTS&C.
FTF with Kiwi Explorer. First find for me on a big walk up and round Mt Robert. Had a few moment of uncertainty until I managed to spot the cache in its hidey hole. TFTC, Biggles.
