Down this way getting a few caches diced to stop by and grab this one. Walked along the beach to grab it. After a little search found it. A bit of glass around cache. Signed log (old receipt? - others signed). TFTC
Last cache before heading back to the car. The wind was really strong but didn't affect the search which soon uncovered the container at zero metres, nice accurate coordinates. T F T C azza-ro.
A day out today was unexpected as our daughter visiting from Whanganui happened yesterday briefly as she headed up to Whangarei for the weekend with her brother before coming back to spend time with us tomorrow, or Monday for the rest of the week. We decided on a trip out to Orewa and headed along the estuary walkway loop and grabbed a few of the options available there and all was good. Even called in at the hall for a vinyl record sale and picked up an eighties album that I liked. Great weather today though the wind was as strong as could be. T F T C all COs.

Find #3300 and 200th consecutive day with a find
Time for one more cache before heading out, I’d reconnoitred the area earlier in the week and had a good idea where to look so headed right in at a relatively muggle-free time for a QEF. TFTC!

Find number 6573. Decided to do a couple of days caching in the area. With an emphasis to try to clear the Dalmatians. After parking up in Riverhead and riding the bicycle from there. I only got a few done before the batteries on my GPS went flat and when I lost phone coverage I had to change plans. In the end I ended up with 29 caches today and spent the night at Murawai. This is now day 2. Murawai, Dalmations and then onto Orewa for the night. Another 50 caches done.
After checking in at the campground I decided to ride into town for some fish n chips. Picked this up on the way. Thank you for the placement.

After a walk around town, then along the beach we arrived at the site for this one. At first we went sure where to look. But after changing perspective we found it!
Found with mazsoosan and Spraett.
Thanks for the cache azza-ro!

We had come up to Orewa to visit the Gypsy Fair today. Since it didn't take too long to get around it and do what we wanted to do, we decided to grab something to eat in Orewa. Not only was it the day of the Gypsy Fair being in town, but also it was the day of the local Santa parade. We still had time before it started, so we had a wander around to find something to eat and kill a bit of time. Of course, what better way to kill time than to do a bit of caching.
We were only in the vicinity of two traditional caches and this was the first one that we attempted. Being a lovely sunny day with the tide being right in, the beach had quite a few muggles on it, so it was a bit of a challenge to try and grab this one stealthily. We searched loa and high for one and soon came up with the goods. It took a little extracting, but when we got it pop out, it fell down into an area where fingers could not grab it. Darn. So, a few TOTT were employed and finally, the reliable old tweezers were able to retrieve the container for us.
We moved to a nearby seat and proceeded to sign the log. Once that was done and the cache replaced, we were about to leave when we spotted a woman's handbag under the seat where we were sitting. COnfirming that it didn't belong to the people sitting on the seat next to us, who thought it belonged to Mrs. Liver Bird, we ticked it away a bit more out of sight so that hopefully, nobody would be tempted to take it illegally.

Not sure why I had missed this log at the time but here it is now.
Found on my way back to Auckland before taking the flight back home the following day. Did try to attempt this one a week earlier but was muggled out at Gz by an exercising couple that just didn’t seem to want to finish their stretches.
No one here today, just me and my fish burger for lunch to sit and relax whilst signing the log.
TRTC, Cheers

Clever Mrs had parked nearby so we quickly found this one as well after the other cache on the walkway. What a gorgeous view! Tftc!
Found it! Kids had a good time trying to find, didn't take too long, the clue helped a lot
This one took us a bit as we had to wait for a family to complete their fish and chips while on the nearby seat. We were initially focused on the wrong objects but then when looking through the logs we could tell we were looking in the wrong spot so we made an adjustment and there it was. We were careful not to drop it like others had said. Quickly signed and returned
Nice cache kids couldn’t find mum to the rescue. Log is wet we added another log paper
Nice little park here, once we were on the right level it was a quick find, thanks
Nice hiding spot. Definitely a relief not to have to search under all those rocks.

Cleverly hidden, really good spot, not what I was expecting which made it an even better find
Had to sit here for some time as no sooner l had arrived & glanced at the beach, someone came & sat on the seat near GZ. So i sat on the other seat till they left. She wrote a very long text! Eventually had GZ to myself. Glad to make a nice quick find. Nice camo. TFTC
Tricky little find. Luckily no muggles today . On way back home to Whangamata after lovely few days up north

#6809. Up in Auckland to attend a meeting at Warkworth. Stopped by here on the way north to pick up a few caches. All quiet in the evening although there were some people walking along the beach. With daylight saving ending now its got quite dark early at night. Needed a torch to spot this one. A quick look around a different object and then I came back to this area and spied something that needed closer attention. The bison fell out into the rocks but luckily was easy to spot. Signed the log and replaced the cache as where found. Thanks azza-ro for hiding it here.
Read hint. Thank goodness, that saves a lot of work. His_old_lady found it easily, then she dropped it into the rocks. Oh, no! She was able to dig it out, so we could sign it and replace it properly. Thanks for the fun cache.
A short afternoon walk along the beach. Quick Find thanks to great coordinates and a Keen cachers eye. As others have mentioned the log is mush tho I etched my initials. Tftc
Found it nice and fast but unfortunately log was very wet. Took a photo for proof. TFTC
A simple enough find. We approached from the beach and bam. The log was very wet and not possible to write on.
Auckland Day 3: Shakespear Park and some miscellanies.
One more day before heading off to the next destination, so decided that today will be the day I go for a little exploration of the Hibiscus Coast, particularly Shakespear Regional Park. The park was as scenic and nice as advertised and had a decent number of caches for the taking. All good fun, before heading over to Orewa for a late lunch and back to Auckland to prepare for tomorrow’s trip.
The following is the specific log for each cache:
Another quick cache found while waiting for lunch to arrive. There were two muggles chatting on the nearby bench, but they did not pay heed to me while I searched. The accurate coordinates led to the nice cache, but the logsheet was mush, so here’s a photolog instead. TFTC!

On a road trip up North with McJandals grabbing a few caches on the way. Log was mush so unable to sign.

Finally visiting orewa today and really like it here so will definately be back.Tried to look for this before lunch but as we arrived at the gz there was a muggle sitting on the bench so we just carried on walking. All refreshed and back at gz we had the area to ourselves a nice quick find.Made us smile and the log was signed.Enjoyed watching the kite surfing too.
While over from the UK and touring the North Island we had a stop over in Orewa on our way up to the Bay of Islands. It was good to be able to mark our stop by collecting a few caches.
Turned up at GZ to find a couple of muggles enjoying fish and chips and a good chin wag. We waited and waited and while we were waiting we got more and more frustrated as we were sure we could see the hide. At last they moved on and we moved in and yes, we had been looking at it for about half an hour! Good hide. TFTC fav point

Brilliant cache! Found this on a gorgeous Orewa afternoon - not sure that I'll ever get sick of this area! Took a bit of hunting, but we got there in the end! Introduced a friend of mine to caching in the process. Love it, TFTC!
As I figured out where GZ was, I noticed two muggles sitting right there. I sat down at the seat next to them to wait. They seemed to be having a heated discussion, so that ended their time at the beach and allowed me to start my search.
I wasn't quite sure which way was the best to get to GZ, so I took the easier way first and found the cache. TFTC.

We headed to GZ after a nice walk along the beach. After finding the cache we took it to the nearby seat so we could sign it without causing any suspicion.
A muggle appeared just as we were going to put it back so we had to wait a few minutes until the coast was clear and enjoyed the view while we waited.
Very nicely hidden, thanks azza-ro.

After getting another high favorited cache further back up Orewa I decided to get this as well. After getting to GZ I must say it is a small reserve. Nice easy find great camo. Thanks a lot for the cache.
JDScout had a conference up in Auckland for a few days. A plan was hatched. Tickets and Accommodation got booked. We're making lemonade out of our lemons.
This was a very clever hide.

First for today, on our circuitous drive from Whangaparaoa to Russell! A very nice hide. Cunning. TFTC
Must have had my spidy senses on over drive for this one. After the rest of the family had had no luck it was my turn. Second place I looked. BAM! found it. Clever camo. Most impressive. Heart breaking to see all the bits of plastic that wash up around the area. I'll be out there next beach clean up day.
Yup. Awesome camo. Fp from us. Holding up well in the salty environment. Unlike the poor fence!! Had to keep "looking around" to entertain the muggle father who was obviously quite bored. But I found a cool green rock that Huntsman2015 promptly released into the wilds of the water again... *sigh*
Well hidden Cache on a very nice place. It's very stormy today... No muggle on sight. We say TFTC and greetings from Germany.
PS: For the streak!

Kiwiscot dropped of at Red Beach for mid week surf life saving training. GPS was definitely jumpy but eventually settled only causing doubt due to the terrain rating. A fair amount of scrambling about finally revealed a possibility and sure enough it was the cache. Nicely constructed. Lovely new log sheet. TFTC
Took a fair bit of time looking all over the place. Then wifey decided to help out and it only took a few seconds until she remarked on her superior caching prowess and preceded to take all the credit
Cache was very damp and log was mush. Dried out container and replaced with fresh log.
Loved the hide -- quite sneaky! This gets a favourite point from us.

We had the great chance to travel around New Zealand during six weeks and were able to see wonderful cities, landscapes and meet nice Kiwis. While staying in NZ many cache owners gave us the opportunity to search for very well hidden treasures and we thank them very much for preparing and maintaining them.
Difficult to leave a log, but no paper with me to replace it.

Having missed out on the *Tree-o of Trunks* cache this was the ‘booby prize’, so to speak. Easy find in the misty rain. What looks like an ordinary paper replacement log which in *Top Gear* parlance is *slightly moist*, but I managed to scratch my name and the date to log my find. Good hide. TFTC
Clever hide. Quick find. First one for orewa. I haven't been here in years. And the place has changed heaps. Nice location. Tftc
Looked for this one previously at night with no luck, but back today and spotted something of interest that caught my attention. Very nice hide, gets a FP from me
Out with Merlot58 and Jag50. We walked along the beach, rather than back up to the road and down to reach this cache, as the tide was out on our approach. Well we were just walking past the rocks when the tide suddenly came in, and I was unable to leap up and on the rocks as one member was on the closest one. I determined my brand new waterproof boots were waterproof, up to the point where the water came in from the top .
Anyway, a quick scramble up and over the rocks to approach this cache from above, all to the oblivious muggle sitting on the seat reading the newspaper.

Jag50, Aiden29 and I appoached this one from the beach side and with the tide suddenly coming in we had to leap onto the rocks to avoid very wet feet. There were a couple of muggles sitting nearby but thankfully because there were 4 of us we were less conspicuous and Mrs Jag soon made the find
Merlot58, Aiden29 and ourselves returned to the sunny Orewa to collect some new caches that had been published since the last time we had been up here. Had lunch by the surf club and then wandered along here. MrsJag50 lead the charge just as the tide was coming in. Leaping for the rocks one of our team misjudged and managed to get wet boots. Finally clambered to GZ and it was MrsJag50 who spotted the hide in front of a few muggles who were unaware of what we were doing
Staying in the area for a night. Found and was spotted by a local MoreFM radio announcer who was relaxing nearby - thought I was setting up for a sunset photo. Nice spot and nicely hidden cache. Tftc gets a fav.
Got it
Was up this way for the afternoon
Jak the geo dog got a beach walk in
For the afternoon and finishing it of with a icecream.
