A long day of caching in the Newcastle and Maitland area as part of our expedition. Started at Minmi this morning and worked my way to the event in East Maitland in the evening.

We wandered around for a while not really knowing what to do or weather we were doing it right because this was the first time we had done this. But we found it eventually. Thanks to the lads who planted this cach.
A very quick find for Mrs Shifter while Mr Shifter waited at the top of the hill in the car.
Thanks for the hide Morky70.

When the description said steep descent, us oldies were a little hesitant but then we sighed a breath of relief when we turned the corner and saw some pretty good bush steps. Sig found the prize. SL TNLN TFTC Morky70 Good workout on our way back to the car!

TFTC morky70. Nice walk we would not have known about without the cache there. Very wet day to be caching but loving it.
Fitzy for the win. Thanks so much for the cache.
......
The beautiful puppy geo art up Maitland way has been tempting me for months!, so when Joolay, Minniek, Fitzy_1965 and SpecimenX started to brew plans for a trip, I knew I was in. Making a whole long weekend of it, we’ve hunted down much needed counties on Friday, diverted to Jasmers, caught up with locals at events and picked up some extra cool little trails and night caches, all the while keeping our eye on the geo art prize So wonderful to have the chance to get away for some caching fun, and to catch up with some local cachers whilst we’re about. Thanks so much to everyone who has invested in these caches to make our wonderful weekend away a possibility. Thanks for the Cache.

Headed to the Maitland area with fitzy_1965 & SpecimenX for an extra long weekend of caching.
Time to pack up and head home but not before picking up more of the local caches with nibletricecakes and Joolay.
All caches where found quickly and easily unless otherwise mentioned. Logs were either signed or stamped as Capital Crunchers or CC.

Found with fitzy_1965, minniek, Nibletricecakes, Joolay as part of the Canberra Invasion of Maitland and surrounds over an extra long weekend
Last day of the invasion and we were focusing on nabbing a bag of local caches before heading home. Wandered down to this one for the quick find at this peaceful little pocket of bush land. Stamped Capital Crunchers to save log space.
Thanks for the hide, Morky70

19,147. Found as part of the Capital Crunchers Team (fitzy_1965, minniek, specimenX, nibletricecakes and Joolay) during the Canberra Invasion of Maitland region over the long weekend.
Day 4 of our invasion. Time to pack up camp, grab some breakfast, then try for as many local caches as we could get before heading off to brave the holiday traffic back towards Sydney/Goulburn. Next of the day. So (puff) many (puff) stairs (puff puff). specimenX came up with the prize.
Thanks Morky70 !!

Its the last day of our Maitland adventure. Up here tackling the Dogs Head but also picking up caches around the area as well. Nibletricecakes and I are back in town after heading out early to get some caches before meeting up with the others. But now we are back together and on our homeward run.
Signing as Capital Crunchers for Nibletricecakes, Fitzy_1965, MinnieK, Joolay and Specimen X.
Thanks for the cache Morky70

Love when caching leads to the discovery of another path through nature.
8th find while out with Coybear2000. We walked to GZ from our previous find. Once there we quickly spotted the hide with its guardian cobwebs, but no spider in sight. Log signed and all replaced and we headed for the next one. TFTC.
Out with Trodectus for a few finds in the area. Arrived GZ and located cache after a short search. Log signed and returned. TFTC
TFTC. A nice walk but I took the wrong track and had to bush bash. Lol. Trust me.
Find No: 7462. Another excursion with shaneo58, he managed to achieve his 200 milestone on this adventure, mind you Mrs Grub Fred wasn't too shabby either, thanks for the cache Morky70!!
Found at 12:47 PM GAFF1.
Went straight to GZ, but there was nothing there! So I looked around and found an identical structure just a few metres away and as I pushed my way through the scrub, I could see a possible piece of camo - and yep - that was the cache thank goodness.
Now for the haul back up through the wet grass
Thanks Morky70

There were roadworks opposite so I had to move the car before setting out. Took the high road there and the low road back - fortunately not much difficulty in getting from one to the other. TFTC
Not long before we began geocaching, I saw the entrance to this trail while driving by and thought, we really should walk that one day! Sometimes you really need an excuse to discover your local area! So thankyou for bringing us to this spot and T4TC.
Easy find once we were on the right trail!

Actually took the wrong track at first but continued around and back up the right one. A quick find was made. Saw a pair of very nice looking King Parrots on the way back out. TFTC
Find #1397
For a second day in a row we were in the Maitland region, working our way from Ashtonfield to Maitland today, thanks to some help from our friends we avoided a few DNFs to hit 12/12 today, with two converted past DNFs. Perfect caching conditions too, 22 degrees, and not a cloud, mozzie or bead of sweat in sight.
We missed the track to this one, it is pretty overgrown (to your left as you enter), so had to bush bash to GZ from a parallel track. TFTC Morky70

Found it, big tip is to take the walking track and not the horse track. Learnt the hard way
Quick find. Probably would have been easier if we took the walking path and not the horse one. Thank you
Found at 1115. After a quick break for a coffee we were at it again. Found this one OK after a short walk from the car. TFTC.
It's easier if you look for the path going to the left near the top. All ok TFTC
After scoping the area walking up n down we eventually stumbled across it, yewww
A quick walk and grab along this great walking track on a glorious but very windy sunny day, as we explore the Hunter Valley and surrounds. TNLN SL TFTC
Found while walking with my Bush walking club. Nice bridge and then a quick find tftc
My son and I set out today to do the cache at McD's and decided to check out this one as well. We had to park at the bottom and walk up as there is no parking at the top, but it was a nice walk. Thanks for the cache Morky70.
TFTC we accidentally took the horse track so we took in the sights before finally finding the correct path that lead us straight to the cache
Just did WTW1 so why not try WTW2. Down the horse side and off to the side and that looks like a spot you might find a cache. Grabbed and signed. Arnold Barrington Bear meets a few more friends. But really wanted to go horseriding! He said to swap a pirate coin for a spanner. A lovely looking area. Must explore in more detail one day. TFTC. #154
