Found with icw. The inside of the plastic bag was wet so I dried it out before replacing the log. I liked the cache guardian. Tftc

Ah Dr Livinstone through the jungle and after a short search it was discovered signed and importantly dried the log bag. After that returned to site and left to fight the bush again, TFTC

I seem to have detoured from the rail trail but this was a pleasant ride through the trees.

Resurrection of cache -a few more banksias fallen in recent times - found the guardian here too that could be used as a container- the new log from previous finder was there - I happened to have a plastic bag with me to complete the seal. The tree where cache was is in pieces. Decided to head down towards Wonthaggi to the beach caches that I did a few years ago. After yesterdays rain, a coolish day today with a touch of sunshine and the wind was not too strong. This was one of 12 caches looked for today - 2 DNF. -high difficulty as I was trying to fill my grid. Thanks Gonefishen07 for the cache.

Wet this morning so i am thoroughly soaked after the walk to this one. I found the cache guardian but no log paper. I have replaced it with a page from my little note book but that is soggy already and wont last long. Despite all that, this is a beautiful location and well worth the visit, im glad you shared. Every now and then i find it very therapeutic to skive off from what i really should be doing to enjoy some time in nature, walking, exploring, adventuring, or just being. These days, of course, that also includes geocaching. I was feeling a bit inundated and decided to head for the coast for a sea change, at least for a few days. Phillip Island has long been a favourite so i hit the road and after a busy drive through the city i finally arrived on the island and immediately felt myself beginning to relax. When i was young i enjoyed quite a few family holidays down here and some of my happiest memories were created on splendid days exploring the beaches and rocky coasts. I will certainly find some geocaches while im here but i will probably spend more time just walking and sight seeing i think. Ancient Banksia Walk is find number 3,727 for me. A fun micro sized traditional cache I enjoyed finding as one of my caching adventures in Bass Coast Shire. I am logging this one on Thursday 25 July 2024 at 8:42 am and the weather is Moderate Rain 13C 84% 8 m/s . Thanks for placing this cache for the rest of us to enjoy Gonefishen07.*Found with [Geooh GO](https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mobiltal.geoohGO)*

We are supporting five scouts as one, our geogal, completed her Adventurous Hike for the Peak Award. We waved goodbye to them at New Haven to do the car shuffle and did some caches. We now had touched base with the Scouts at the start of George Bass Coastal Trail. We adjusted backs, they had snacks they were carrying, and we topped up their water. Off they went. Scout leader Hubby followed from a distance. While they were all walking, i set off to here to do three challenge caches nearby. Decided to do a loop in the end a grap three tradition caches as well. Took me longer than i would like to admit to, even PAF but she couldn't remember back in 2016. Kept coming back to the same ancient and made the cheeky find. Thanks for the cache.

Found this old walking track to the cache without any dramas and didn't take long to locate this little fella no log so we added some paper but on the way back l spotted a snake, froze put my arms out to warn the girls then I took 2 steps further and another one crickey this made the walk out a bit nervy... TFTC and adventure

So the days caching with Kashbound and kbucky was almost over while making our way back to Geo car we stopped of to grab a few more. Beautiful walk in a nice area some amazing trees. Kashbound again ...made the cache find ...log missing temp log zip lock bag gobbled up by cache- on the way out Kashbound spotted a few snakes panic mode set in ...as we side stepped away from the area. Know any sensible person would have called it a day but nope not us we had 1 more unloved to chase..

Found cache container without log. We put in a VERY TEMPORARY LOG. A very reptile experience as there were a couple of snakes as well on way out. Tftc gonefishen07

Sadly a DNF here today. Lots of potential spots for a hide.
Gave it about 20 mins and decided to move on.

26-Jun-22
We continued our wander along this surprising track, soaking up the atmosphere in no small part provided by the surrounding banksias as we went.
Another surprise presented itself in the form of a sign indicating that this track actually went to the beach!
However, our destination was a short distance before that, as we ventured away from the track and over to the gz for this cache.
Thankfully it wasn't too overgrown and we could very quickly identify a likely landmark for a cache to be hidden.
Unfortunately, its presumed camo was found lying on the ground, having detached from wherever it was previously, and the container was unable to be tracked down, having likely landed elsewhere in the process.
The CO has been notified and the camo stashed away at ground level.

Thanks to Gonefishen07 for the placement here! Smile

Well today I found myself in the Kilcunda-Wonthaggi area with a day to kill. In my travels today I had much time to contemplate where I should be out caching in this area or not, given that over half the cache have been disabled due to COVID19. I could come up with 10 good reason why to and why not, and it could be debated at length without conclusion but at the end of the day I figured that the game pieces are in place still, I have breached no rules or laws, I probably couldn’t be more isolated (didn’t see a sole), many other are caching, I have sanitised my hands so much the skin is cracking and the reviewers are publishing new cache. Certainly, I would consider the risks are higher simply going to the supermarket, and I could log these cache in a few months, but I choose to do it now. Apologies if I have upset the CO’s by breaching their intentions.

The day for me started in Kilcunda, picked up a couple of loose traditional cache and then parked near the cemetery. I preceded to hike my way along the beach collecting the Killer view series and Cache Favourite challenges. Certainly the views were killers! The beach was stunning, just one set of footsteps as far as you could see from where I had come and a beautiful clear beach ahead of me. The beach and waves were stunning, and the small patches of rock formation just a wealth of interest, however there was a bite in the air that on a few occasions gave my head the pain like when you eat ice cream too fast! I continued down all the way to Powlett River mouth and had to do a little bush bashing near the river as I made my way past the beach house, fairy garden, bird in hand, the ballgame and so many other great inventions. Eventually I rejoined the rail trail back to the car after 11km or sand, dunes and trails, and tucked into a cup of tea, some sausage rolls and fruit.

My second adventure was around the Wonthaggi Heathland Nature reserve, I spied another circuit and feared there maybe more sand dunes! My legs were still feeling if from earlier. A I headed from the carpark towards the Target range knowing I was going to have to back track straight after. Then headed back towards the beach and saw an OWL! And continued on towards the beach for more isolation, more amazing views, more sand dunes, ammo cans (who doesn’t love a good ammo can?), and a little cut back through to the car. Another 10km covered, time for another cuppa, muffin bar and some nuts a raisens.
The weather started to turn now so I thought I best start making my way back home and collected a few drive byes along the way. Have to say I thoroughly enjoyed the day, the fresh air and kms certainly was great for my body and headspace and look forward to getting back to find some more. There will definitely be a few Fav points going out.
Thanks for the cache Gonefishen07,

Out for a caching day with ilook4geo and aiming to find an ancient banksia. We were successful in this and soon also found the cache as well. There was no problem in retrieving the log from its container and it was signed and replaced before we retraced our steps and walked back to the geo vehicle. Thank you to Gonefishen07 for placing this cache and for the cute camo used.

Was out for some caching today along with goingplaces2. Love the cache guardian found here, which was not very far off the track. Log was signed, all was replaced and we way on our way again. TFTC.

As now has become a tradition, I came down to Wonthaggi for the 10th year in a row. I headed to this one with Alansee, a previous finder. The track seems to be getting quite overgrown. Once at GZ I was looking in the wrong place until Alansee guided me to the cache.

Thanks to Gonefishen07 for the cache.

Found by The Empire + H
What a cool walk to this one was - this track has been long forgotten by the council and is pretty fun to navigate. Once at GZ it took a bit of finding but that seemed to be the name of the game today. Favourite point added. Thanks for the cache Gonefishen07.

First road trip caching in a while, but a caching day tho a little windy and chilly but sun came out later on.

Out with the kids 12 and 14 (yeah they wanted to come but somewhat not as excited at the treasure in the caches).... but still happy to come (if not e every day), and Pooch who l bet if could talk would say "Best day ever.. humans"... she will sleep well tonight and have puppy dreams of her adventures, sights and oh the smells...

Loved walking thru here, so peaceful and quiet.. but would be def spooky at night...

Thanks Gonefishen for awesome caches again.. we love the ones where we can get out for a walk.

After continuing the walk along this disused trail from the beach, I came across an overgrown sign that said "Beach" and thought this would be a lovely spot to hide a cache. Grabbed my GPS and discovered this cache was too close. Since I hadn't saved it offline, I didn't know about it. Lovely cache, so glad I visited.
Thanks for the cache Gone Fishen 07

Out with Bunadoorian and after finding the challenge caches we wanted today - we decided to find a few more caches on the way home. Eighth cache found today. On the way here there were a lot of trees that had lost branches - must have been in the high winds not too long ago. Our phones GPS had us over the place but after reading previous logs I quickly spotted the great cache. On the way back to the car we spied an interesting blue fungus on one of the Tree branches lying across the track. TFTC Gonefishen07 and again for bringing us here - to an area we hadn't been to before.

20-Jul-19
Grub62 and I had to negotiate many fallen trees on the path into GZ. When we arrived there we wandered around aimlessly following our GPS until Grub62 read previous logs and got a clue. The cache was found quickly enough after that but then we had to extract it from it's hidey hole. TFTC.

We came in on this little track from another nearby cache. At times we thought we weren't really supposed to be here as there were quite a few fallen trees left in our way and the whole place looked abandoned. However the entire walk was really tranquil and the area was pretty. The cache was found- and we think we have gained some unlove maybe.
No extra wildlife spotted, phew.
Thank you Gonefishen07 for placing the cache in this nifty little place.

31/03/2018 - 10.35am - Find No. 921 - 1st for the day with non-geo son who offered to take me 'hunting' again.
The day was warmer than I thought it would be an fortunately we saw no sign of any slithery dangerous animals [:o] Thank goodness for that!
There were a lot of trees & bits of trees down in places so route to cache was a little circuitous in places. Took us a while until 'Oh, why didn't we see that!' All is good but with lots of fallen bits round about. Signed & returned as found. Thanks for the cache Big Grin
The days tally was 8 finds, 2 dnfs & many kms (6km Surprised) walked.

15-Jan-18
I moved a little further north and parked nearby to walk to these four caches I had not yet found. The trail was empty today and a nice area for a short walk. This one was a straightforward find for me today. Log full, returned as found.

**Thanks to Gonefishen07 for hiding this trad for us to find and enjoy**

Glorious afternoon to go wandering amongst these wonderful ancient banksias. Thanks for bringing me here again! It's been a while since I was last here. Log in urgent need of replacing.

31-Jul-16
I decided today was the day to head out for a cache or two and the weather was a bit brighter than it has been for some time now. Geohubby was in tow, which is a bit of a worry with his dodgy knee but we decided this one might be ok for both of us to manage.

GZ is a beautiful spot and the banksias are amazingly large, but so many of them are dead or dying and many have grub holes through them which are quite visible and there do not seem to many young trees to replace the old ones that have gone. I found the spot where I thought this one should be and had a bit of a look but it wasn't where I expected it to be. I searched a bit more and still couldn't find it and then, by chance, glanced down and saw something suspiciously like a cache. It would appear that this one was dislodged at sometime and I was just lucky to find it at all. I have replaced it where I thought it should go. I love this spot. Number #249 for me. TFTC

31-Jul-16
oops, I forgot to mention it in my FOUND log, so thought I better post a note.

The log on this one is getting pretty full and I had to write sideways down the side of it as all the other spots are full up.

02-Jan-16
After the cache owner's New Years event at the State Coal Mine, I returned to get a few more caches in this area. I really enjoyed this little-used path through a range of plant settings. I really enjoyed this find, thanks.

01-Jan-16
We were a bit too late to attend today's event but did catch up with Lukie1987 for some caching fun.
Arrived at the start of this walk to discover Lukie, Vanessa&aodh and Mark&Kelly about to head into the bush.
The find was soon made and the log signed.
Thanks for the cache Gonefishen07.
Looking forward to a great weekend.

I ended up coming up to Wonthaggi to come to the events and meet up with a few geobuddys and find a heap of caches witch has been great fun. Thanks to Vanessa&adoh n0w0rries mark&kelly for meeting up and thanks to therustys for getting me a place to stay.

01-Jan-16
Found it! Having attended an event just up the road our mission with Vanessa&aodh and Lukie1987 took us south along the Highway. After grabbing a couple around Bass we arrived at the access point for our primary mission today. We were soon joined by n0w0rries and whilst +wife entertained the geohounds we set off along the track to the beach intent on getting as many of the caches on the way there as we could. A bit off the beaten track to get this one but Kelly soon had it spotted. We extracted the log and soon had it signed by all and were on our way back though this grove of historical skeletons...TFTC...

30-Dec-15
Early start at 6 am meet up at alchey's house to catch the 7 am ferry from Queenscliff to the other side of the bay. We had planned in advance to go for caches that would help fill in our D/T matrix and then take the "long way" home picking up some virtuals closer to Melbourne that are dwindling in numbers.

Thanks Gonefishin07 for the hide and location highlight.
Log signed and cache replaced as found.

Back in an area that we had explored before, we hadn't made it to this part. It really is lovely in here, and a cool little trail too.
An excellent little hide too!
Thanks to Gonefishen07 for placing this cache.

[Green]With some time off work for the holiday season I teamed up with Square Pegs to head east of Melbourne to the cache rich Wonthaggi area where I found this cache in good condition and with accurate co-ords. I like this location, somewhere I have been before. What made my day was discovering three large Kangaroos who decided to hop out of our way. They needn't have worried though.

Thanks Gonefishen07 Smile

Set out at 6am with Darth Briji to catch the 7am ferry from Queenscliff to Sorrento to cut out some driving time, then to meet up with Dora the Explorer on the Bass coast. The hides and terrain were very challenging along the coast line with some that had us scratching our heads for sometime. Which made them all well earned both physical and mentally.
I'd had a quick look at GZ but spotted nothing then Darth had a look and spotted it straight away. Signed and replaced as found. now where is the track again.

Thanks for the cache Gonefishen07

Quick easy find good camo. Found this with alcheny and darth bunji. We found the cache easy enough and alcheny tried to make it into a t3 plus by climbing a tree. We had more trouble finding the track to get back onto and this was the track that we should have taken when doing the challenge caches. This was my last cache for the day.

Just catching up on some logs, found this one with Mansgirl while on a cache run, or was that a dune climb. I was chatting to Mansgirl when I spotted the container, and wasn't really paying attention when I dived in to grab it, well that was a mistake, as if you don't pay attention you may get a surprise. Mansgirl signed the log. tftct.

Day 3 of our South Gippsland holiday and caching adventures saw us (me and the 4 & 6 year old geokids) exploring Wonthaggi and surrounds between events. We picked this one up whilst in the area for the night cache. Very cool camo here. Kids love anything like this! Many thanks Smile

On the return stroll along an unmaintained and overgrown track, grabbed a few finds with a muggle mate and frmen1. Thanks Gonefishen07 for placing this cache.

This was find #32 of 31 on a weekend away to Wonthaggi with The Rusty's and Zeus, Hera and Kids where we took 9.5 hours to travel to Wonthaggi because we were stopping to grab a heap of really interesting and clever caches.

Yeah, this is find #32 of 31. I stuffed up somewhere and I'm going to have to wear it.

A great little cache, in a surprise container. I can't wait to come back here and do the night cache. An awesome weekend caching with great people, finding heaps and heaps of fab caches.

Our last cache of an epic girl's caching weekend. I'm so glad it was another quality Gonefishen07 hide. An awesome spot for a cache and a great container. Log is full.

Returning home after spending a caching weekend away with Zeus, Hera & Kids and Vanessa&Aodh.

Last one of the weekend! This area is so pretty and looks much less spooky in the daylight. Love the cache camo!! Very nicely done. We have really enjoyed your inventive caches, as usual. Thanks for all your effort and for giving us a few hints over the weekend.

19-Jan-15
Camped at Korumburra and today we went sightseeing, picking a few caches along the way.

Even though the tracks were a little overgrown, it was an amazing walk.
This one didn't take us too long to find. Nice camo.
Many thanks for placing this cache, Gonefishen07, for us and others to find.

Out with Bounty Trackers to do Gonefishen07 new night cache.
After having tea at the nearby Kilcunda pub we had 1/2 an hour to kill.
So I went and did a couple caches to fill in the time.

The cache was soon located and the cache guardian was dealt with quickly.

"Scrat" visited your cache whilst on his Great Aussie Adventure.

Doing a maintenance run as well as discussing ideas with CO and Hearse068 they stopped and asked if I had found this cache yet, nope was the answer, so off i went and followed my nose and quickly spied the keeper of the cache.

Thanks for the cache Gonefishen07!!!

On an RDO today so I'm out and about on The Caching Run to see where it takes me. Left home in Vermont at 7:00 am and headed for Drouin first then down through Lardner, into Strzelecki and across to Poowong, then down to Loch for lunch. From there it's back to Korumburra and down through Kongwak and into Wonthaggi after which I head over to the Powlett River for a wander in the sand dunes and then back to Melbourne for orienteering in Brighton. I'm sure there were a bunch of other places mixed in there as well but who's counting? Arrived home at 9:00 pm, what a day!
Almost like an enchanted forest. Quick find, nice camo.
Thanks for placing this cache Gonefishen07

Find #572

Out along the Powlett Beach area to enjoy a walk collecting some great caches and challenge puzzles. Thanks for all the effort in the game Gonefishen07, you certainly made our day enjoyable even with seeing up trek up and down mountainous sand dunes on many occasions. Found 22 all up in this area today. Number 7 in the walk. This was a nice open patch to rest in for a while and to find a cache. Kept an eye out for muggles as I could feel eyes on us and wasn't wrong, something had been watching us all the time!

23-Mar-14
On a quick caching trip there was a few caches that were on our target list nearby.
Okay, snakes are a BIG problem for me and a very serious one at that.
Lately I have built up a 'it's going to be okay' attitude so I led the way in from the path. Stomping all the way I arrived and spotted the cache. I had to build up the courage again to get close enough to reach and I accomplished what I had set out to do Big Grin
Thanks for giving me an urge to try and get past my fears Gonefishen Big Grin

Find #964

Headed out with my caching partner Stemicmitsar to collect some cache for our respective D/T grids from the selection down along the eastern side of Westernport Bay and also grab whatever else we could along the way.

Up to this cache, we'd been spoilt with regular and large containers. Back down to earth with a micro in the bush. [B)]

Fortunately Steve made the find fairly quickly and we once again on our way.

Found @ 4:54pm, find # 3034.

An afternoon caching run, out with biggles1024 and this time our destination was down along the edge of Westernport Bay as there were a few attractive caches around this area that help with the D/T grid.

We continued on down the track from the previous find, it was now back to finding a micro in the bush but lucky for us, we headed to the correct spot where I noticed something and that was also where the cache was.
Thanks to Gonefishen07 for placing this cache.

20-Jan-14
Found it with Geogran1937. Signed log and moved on with trepidation to seek "Something a little bit different". This section of the "track" is, in the main, in poor condition and would be daunting to a nervous person on a warm to hot day.

20-Jan-14
Found it with dgfb33 and signed log.

06-Jan-14
It was gale force winds and raining on and off today but I still decided to take a drive down here from near the City where I live to find a few of these challenge caches and to fill in another D/T square. I found some incredibly awesome caches today.
After finishing the challenge caches I needed to get out of the sand storms and gale force winds so headed inland on my way back to the car.
Arrived here and the GPS wouldn't settle so I just started randomly checking around the area and made the find in a few minutes, signed the log and was on my way.
Thanks for the cache, the hunt and the fun.

Date: 28 December 2013
Time: 3:11pm
Find # 3499
Streak: 150 days

After confirming my attendance at the two events in Wonthaggi, my main mission today was to attend these events as well as to find some of the rare difficulty and terrain caches in the area for my P81 loop. The weather was looking like being quite hot so I decided to leave early to avoid some of the heat while searching for the caches.

Continuing along in a bit of a loop to try and pickup some nearby FTF's, I really liked this spot, a bit of shade from the hot sun was good. Nice camo on the hide Smile

Thanks to Gonefishen07 for the cache. TNLN

Nut bear and I go caching every Thursday no matter what the weather. Today was probably the most extreme weather we have ever cached in..........hail storms & gale force winds.
We really enjoyed the walk into this one. What a magic area. The cache and its companion were quickly spotted, signed & replaced the log.
Had intended to do the others along here but the track was very flooded. You would need gumboots at the moment to get past and not wanting to bush bash we reluctantly turned back. We will return.
Thanks Gonefishen07 for another great cache.

17-Oct-13
Out for my usual Thursday caching run with BorisB&Natasha and yet again the weather was not ideal. We have wanted to come back to this area for a while and today was going to be the day.....Rain, hail, or shine.... or all of the above!
What a beautiful area this is, looks like the kind of place a fairy would live. Cache was soon located and its guardian allowed us to sign the log.
Thanks Gonefishen07 for the cache. Smile

Thanks Gonefishen07 for another interesting cache.

Find #1161. Found @ 15:30.

I've been concentrating on caches which fill in squares on my placed p366 calendar and p81 challenges. This one fit the bill.

I wandered in from another close by. A very cute hide which was an insta-find. I love the cache guardian.

Took nothing, left nothing, signed log and visited some trackables.
Thanks for the cache Gonefishen07.

One of our targets for this trip to the Bass Coast area were the caches near the mouth of the Powlett River. Today was our last opportunity on this visit and, thankfully, it was really great weather for winter - fine, blue skies and virtually no wind. This was a great walk - even though some have died, the banksias are enormous and those still living are producing quality blooms. Accurate coordinates led to a quick find of a very well implemented cache. The cache and its contents were in good condition. Thanks for another great cache Gonefishen07 - certainly earns a favourite from us.

Another fantastic TDC caching night in the Melbourne and down to the Wonthaggi area. A lot of caches found, including Keep It Moving. A night filled with laughs and good company. My appologies for the late and generic log, have had personal issues to deal with, and still sorting them out, so trying to catch up now. Thanks to all CO's for their hides.....

This cache was found during todays TDC Monday cache run. Our plan for the run was to hit the Bass / Kilcunda region with the Bass walk high on the agenda. We started with a few new caches around the eastern suburbs and then made our way south down the Bass Hwy. The weather was good for us tonight and nowhere as wet or cold as on previous runs.
We all had a great night with plenty of laughs and a nice variety of caches found, including a well sort after international travelling cache. The Bass walk caches were a highlight for me and well worth the late night trek. Found with the guys at the new location. Thanks to all the CO's who placed the caches we found tonight.

On another very cold night the planned route for The Demolition Crew was into the Wonthaggi area to make a dent in the unfound caches int hat area. The trip started in teh eastern suburbs of Melbourne and took us south collecting some caches as we went. With lots of laughs, it was to our surprise that a well known D5/T5 moving cache had the co-ordinates updated in the area. It was then a mad dash in the middle of the night to sign that log, before we continued the planned route into the wee hours of the morning. These winter nights can be very cold, but at least this time it wasn't raining. Thanks to all the CO for placing and maintaining their caches. We had lots of fun finding and signing. Cheers TR.
