It is time for the final whistle to blow and say farewell to the GeoExpress Event. Let's hope we can again board the loco and meet up for another great day of geocaching friendship some time in the future.

Cheers,

20-Sep-11
There are two trackables still listed in the GeoExpress event. They are "Haroobang's House" and "Percy Penguin". If you have either or both of these, could you retrieve them into your inventory please.

Thanks,

What a fabulous turn out for this event. Thanks to everyone who came along and boarded the GeoExpress. You helped to make this event a most enjoyable occasion. It was wonderful to see all those faces we knew and it was also great to meet a number of cachers new to the game. We hope we have added to your enjoyment of Geocaching. We look forward to seeing you all again at a future event.

Just a reminder, the OZ MEGA EVENT will be held over the Easter weekend in 2012 down in Albury/Wodonga. Check out the website here, http://www.ozmega.com.au/ and the GC listing here http://coord.info/GC2Q4JF . It should be a lot of fun so hope you can join in.

There are a number of trackables still listed in this event. Please retrieve them into your inventory at your earliest convenience.

Cheers and happy Geocaching.

After 2 years I finally decided to set up my own account. Attended as Akkatracket JR with Akkatracker

11-Sep-11
Congratulations and thanks to Calypso62 and Geotooter for a very successful event. Great to finally meet many of the faces behind those logs we see and get some different perspectives on caching. A nice mixture of young and old from near and far.
Surely we can expect a rush of finds for CM66 now that so many hints were divulged, or not!

11-Sep-11
When the boys were younger, we used to visit Woscoe near our place in the mountains. With a younger nephewwe visit Luddenham for the same purpose, so this one was another good one to keep in mind. Good to see some of the familiar cachers and meet some newbies too. Thanks Calyso62 and Geotooter for uorganising this one. A good roll up, more than we'd expected from those who had said they'd be coming. Again next year?

11-Sep-11
Well this was a good event... Great planning C62 and Great work on the location. Seemed like a lot of people were at the venue at the day but the event had a nice crowd. Didn't really meet more new people but added a few faces to names.

Only able to stay for about an hour and a half due to other commitments, but had a lot of fun all the same Very Happy Put some faces to names, swapped some pathtags and even had a ride on one of the mini steam-trains. Thanks Calypso for organising this cool event ^_^

11-Sep-11
This was a fun day! Great to meet everyone!

11-Sep-11
Thanks to Calypso62 for the event. Good to meet some Australian geocachers. Left to find some more caches about the area - although a couple of near ones eluded me. Also nice to trade some Pathtags in person.

11-Sep-11
Congrats Calypso62 and Geotooter on another successful event and beautiful morning for it too! Great to see both new and familiar faces and drop off/pick up a trackable as well.

We walked up and down all those stairs to grab a sausage sandwich for lunch and then had to head off but it was terrific meeting some more geocachers and putting faces to names. Cool idea to grab some photo's too! Thanks again for a great event. Smile

11-Sep-11
Toot Toot. Throughly enjoyed this event. Had 2 rides on the trains and was really impressed with this layout. Had been here many moons ago with my "Pa" and after a slight de-railment back then we fell off, me in his arms. Glad to see that all these years later the trains are still rolling.

Thanks Calypso62 and Geotooter for organising this event.
Again next year?

11-Sep-11
What a fantastic place. That's why I love Australia because there is always something interesting to see. Thanks both of you Calypso62 and Geotooter for bringing us here. I have to thank to Sonya and Baktrak too, without them I would get to and from the event.

Great day- loved the trains (but I am a kid!!!)

With almost perfect weather, this proved to be another good day's outing meeting fellow cachers. By all indication, the fifty plus persons who attended certainly enjoyed themselves, especially both the big kids & the little kids who road the small trains. Hopefully, this may lead to the event being repeated sometime in the future. Although I was a co-organiser, most of the legwork was by Calypso62. Many thanks to C62 as well as all those who turned up.
Now to think about the next event........

11-Sep-11
Great day! Fun riding the trains, good having a chat and good sauasage sandwiches too! Everything a kid could want-thanks!

11-Sep-11
It was funny to see this event listed a matter of days after we had visited a similar venue in West Ryde http://www.slsls.asn.au/. We had much fun on that day that we knew we would have to go to this one.

Arrived around midday and were amazed at the facilities - including a fair dinkum sausage sizzle. We headed over to the event and settled into numerous conversations about geocaching and life in general.

Zac enjoyed four loops of the track on the trains. See the YouTube video http://youtu.be/f082xg1c04s Wow how long was it? Before we finished up and headed home. A briliant day and a great idea for an event. Thank youu Bruce and company.

Now there are those in geocaching land that say I shouldn't log my own event but I say what the hell!! I was there and I had a great time meeting everybody and enjoying the fun of the little trains!!! (I don't log finding my own caches... that's different!! Wink)

11-Sep-11
Had a great time today, meeting some more cachers, and riding the train.
We've got some home video of me as a toddler riding this train with my dad! 20 years on... it's really nice to see it still going.

11-Sep-11
We had a great time at this event, Miss Shifter loved riding on the trains, she had numerous trips, Mr Shifter loved the steam engines, and Mrs Shifter enjoyed the relaxing day and catching up with familiar and new faces.
Thanks to Calypso62 and Geotooter for hosting the event.

11-Sep-11
What a fabulous spot. Thanks for holding an event here, I certainly never knew about this place. Lots of little kids but the place is just as enjoyable for us big kids too and I wasn't going to miss out on a train ride. So with Big Spindoc and junior Spindoc, we were lucky enough to score our very own train. The track was quite long and you got a nice long ride. I was amazed to learn that the engineers build these trains from scratch.
It was nice to meet up with some familiar faces and enjoyable to chat with some new cachers. Many funny stories were shared and hints and tips exchanged.

11-Sep-11
Wow! I just finished logging all my Travel bug/geocoin discoveries!! It took me a good 20 minutes- on top of the 40+ emails I got from this event! Once again, thanks c62- I will find some of yours in the near future!

11-Sep-11
Well! What a great day and event. Geodaughter really liked the place and nearby Multi. It was good to catch up with you Calypso62 after all these years and to meet some some other caches again and some new ones I hadn't met before. Hope to do some more of your challenging caches soon. TFTE

Toot too chugga chugga...oh no that is the big red car...

we had a grand day, lots of rides on the trains. we even scored a free ride at the end of the day!.whilst the weather held out, it got a little chilly near the end of the day.
We all had a lot of fun.
My 8 Y.o Daughter discovered geocaching trackables for the first time. so we grabbed a couple of these.
I'll ahve to find them and get the codes form them ASAP.
thanks for a fun day guys, look forward to meeting you all at another event soon.

11-Sep-11
My first Geoevent, and what a good one it was too. Unfortunately GeoKids had a band workshop on at the same time, so the rest if the Geofamily couldn't attend.

It was great to meet so many cachers, put faces to the names I read in logs, and find out who the people are that have created so many enjoyable caches.

A few pointers on some difficult caches didn't go astray either. And with all the discussion on CM66, I reckon I now have a really good idea where it is hidden!

Thanks C62 and Geotooter for organizing a worthwhile event.

11-Sep-11
A nice day today! Really fun and nice meeting new people! Thanks Calypso took 2 tbs left one!

11-Sep-11
It was good to catch up with old caching friends, and quiet a few I hadn't met before.

Also I managed to get a few extra hints on some DNFs of mine.

Thanks Bruce, a great little spot for the event.

11-Sep-11
Thank you to Calypso62 and Geotooter for organising this well attended event. Could only stay a short while with pjmpjm as we had more caching planned for the ride back to the mountains.
It was great to be able to put faces to familiar names, so many stories!
The steam trains (models) were quite a draw card, very enjoyable.
Thanks again guys.

11-Sep-11
Indeed a place I've not visited ... and a brilliant location for all things of engineering in miniature. Just had to have a ride on the small steam engine train. Thanks Calypso for organizing the event ..... taking me there to also see other enthusiastic geocachers. A wonderful experience for the short time I was there Big Grin.

great to catch up with some old friends and to make some new ones.

11-Sep-11
After riding home from Dungog, we arrived home early enough for a quick trip out to this event. As I was riding out I spotted a suspicious character near one of pjm's Dural caches, so I stopped and provided some assistance. Found out that I had met Rainbow Spirit.
It was great to meet many fellow cachers at the event and swap some stories. I also found time to promote one of my caches that isa not seeing a lot of action - "Smell the Roses". I was inspired by Baktrak and Sjamp to renew my efforts on a couple of the tough local puzzle caches.
Many thanks to Calypso and Geotooter for once again putting on wonderful social event.

11-Sep-11
A very enjoyable event. Caught up with some familiar faces here, as well as a few I hadn't met, yet had stories to tell about caches we had done. I finally got to meet Rogerw3, a prolific cache placer here in the mountains and out towards Lithgow. And as Tronador said, this was a great place for big kids, too. Enjoyed riding the railway with my boys. Thanks Calypso62 for arranging this one.

11-Sep-11
Had a great time meeting old friends and putting faces to names.

Can't believe how many mini-trains I saw! And steam engines too.

Seemed to be a great turn-out, although I couldn't stay more than an hour a half.

rogerw3 and I took off on another GCA trig expedition on our way back to the Blue Mountains.

Many thanks to Calypso62 and Geotooter for arranging everything. Very much appreciated!

Hi Everyone,

The “All Aboard The GeoExpress” event is shaping up to be a most enjoyable one. It looks like the geocaching gods will be smiling on us with some nice weather forecast, at least for the morning.

The event will commence at 9:30am and conclude at 3:30pm. You can come along for all or part of the time, it’s up to you. Just remember there is a $5 per adult entry fee payable at the gate and accompanied children are free. Train rides are extra. Please BYO all food and drink requirements for yourself. A folding chair to sit on is also a good idea.

Look for us down across the bridge, past the station and over to the right. I should have some signs up to highlight where we are.

When you arrive, please sign the Event Log and grab a name tag. There’ll be two trays for trackables, one for discovery only trackables and one for trackables that you can retrieve. If you haven’t already done so, please log any trackables that you are going to bring for retrieval into the event listing.

I will be taking a group photo at 10am, 12pm and 2pm so hopefully you will be around for at least one, if not all, of these photos.

We are very much looking forward to seeing you all out there at Galston on Sunday.

Cheers,
Calypso62 and Geotooter
