Greetings from Geocaching.com

I have been looking at caches in the area that have been temporarily disabled for a while now and it looks like your cache has been under the weather for some time. While I feel that Geocaching.com should hold the location for you and block other cachers from entering the area around this cache for a reasonable amount of time I don’t think we can do so any longer. Therefore, I have archived this cache. If you haven’t done so already, please pick up any remaining cache bits as soon as possible.

When repairs to this cache are completed and it is time to have it reposted, it will be no problem. Just drop me a note and let me know the GC waypoint number of the cache or better yet, the URL of the cache page. You will still be able to access your cache page just as before by going to your My Cache Page and clicking the link of your cache.

I will be more than happy to take a look at your cache again to see if it is still is within the guidelines of the Geocaching.com website for cache placement and posting.

I want to thank you for the time that you have taken to contribute to geocaching in the past and am looking forward to seeing your cache up and running in the future.

Thanks,
swampgecko

I spent some time here looking today with Rats after a quick run around the park.... I believe this cache tyo be toast... there is evidence of a fire near gz and I found remains of what appears to be a pen...

I will be emailling the owner

After comfirming that I was looking in the right spot with someone who had previously found it, I spent some time scratching through ground cover trying to find what must be a well buried Cache. As it was in a poor condition many months ago when it was last found, perhaps it needs checking to confirm it is still there. If it is actually buried the position needs to be better marked.

26-Nov-03
Spent some time at what I think was the final spot, turned over a lot of ground cover but to no avail. Either this one is well buried by now or gone bye byes. (I suppose I could have been looking in the wrong place....) Nice day for looping the park though.

We came away really disappointed as this was supposed to be our 10th and final Sydney cache! We started out really early, getting off our bus as soon as we hit the park - we had come in from Bondi Junction. We walked and walked - all morning as it turned out - found the first waypoint, the second waypoint, the third waypoint - but no cache. We read the clue and moved every piece of groundcover around the likely spot. Then we physically checked all the waypoints just in case, but nothing helped.
We enjoyed our time at the park and were impressed with how many people were enjoying the various facilities but we are going home to NZ disappointed with this one!
Thanks anyway

Revisited to grab Fire TB around 11pm. Things are going crazy south of the harbour tonight. Between what looked like a fatal motorcycle crash, old ladies with a 300° blind spot and insane truck, car, taxi and _tractor_ drivers, we were lucky to survive the short trip. It's amazing to think I did over 2000kms in 10 days before that without a problem. Gotta love Sydney. Smile

Jogged from car to cache when someone pulled up behind us, just in case they had the same goal. Turned out to be a Muggle.

Visited this cache again today to drop off a travel bug for the Fifth Element cache...

Not a very nice place to leave my TB, as the cache is very wet & smelly, but hopefully it won't be here for long...

Maybe Stubby Holder or the next person to visit this cache would like to take a new container and replace it... The log-book is just about salvageable but the pen doesn't work...

Left the Fire travel bug here... maybe it'll dry it out a little...

Found around 8:45pm with KitPie, kinda sorta guessing where the final waypoint would be without doing the hard yards. Wink

We got to GZ as the rain started to fall. Undeterred we started searching ... and searching ... and searching. My LED light was getting ever dimmer, and I picked up my bag ready to leave. In a last ditch effort to find the cache, I was kicking a few piles of debris about .. CLUNK ... pay dirt. Cache is hanging in there (well it appeared to be ok in the dim light), bug free and relatively dry.

Glad to have found it, the dark/damp walk back to the car wouldn't have been as nice without a success. Smile

Thanks Stubby Holder!

I completed the course for this one nearly 1 year ago but was unable to find the cache at that time. Since I was almost positive I had done the first stages correctly, I returned directly to the final spot this time around and quickly found the cache without difficulty. The container lid is badly punctured, and the cache had some water in it. I emptied the water, took nothing, and left some US coins. I also placed the container in an inverted orientation in its hiding spot to keep water from entering.

Thanks for the challenge.

After about 4 tries at this on. We finally nutted this one out. I was starting to wonder what was wrong with the GPS or was it me.

Great location. Cache needs some TLC

A lovely walk in the park, the logbook is a little damp but otherwise OK. Took nothing left a disposable raincoat.

While visiting from Buffalo, NY, USA, I conned a friend into coming geocaching with me. With the way my luck has been going so far on my trip, the rookie cacher found it first.

Left a brand new tennis ball, took nothing.

Thanks for the hunt!

A snap. Waypoint after waypoint fell to the might of the bushpusher team.

Found the cache safe and well. All beetles have run for the hills it would seem.

Found this one on my second attempt and as usual can't understand why I didn't find it the first time...
The cache was reasonably dry, but dirty. Some beetles were living in there and the cardboard items were ruined... I cleaned the cache out as best I could, and put the cache log & geocaching sheet in a zip-loc bag so that they don't get any damper...
The cache log really needs to be dried out for a couple of hours in the sun and a new geocaching sheet is needed as the old one has faded away...
Took the Tabasco sauce and left Neville the Travel Bug...
Good one Stubby Holder...

Well, with a little brain work, and a good map, this cache can be completed with the minimum of running around (1 waypoint!)

WET WET WET WET thats all i can sy, this cache is more like a soup bucket t cache. it needs attention that i couldnt provide, nothing to dry it out, and its location meand t will get wet again anyway.
took nothing, as I couldnt tell one item from another in the soup. Just managed to log my visit in the soggy log book.
Left nothng, as i fear this cache would disolveanything i had to leave .

Soggy one Stubbs!

Lovely day in the park, after finding all the clues and heading off for the cache, found it can be quite dangerous to get this one. on approach we were attacked by about 8 Black Cockatoos throwing pine cones out of the trees at us. The cache was a bit damp, emptied water out but had nothing to dry it out.
Took Tweenie and left Golf ball.

Hi there! Decided to try our luck at locating this cache again. Realized that we got tricked by the dates during our last attempt and hence got misled by the clues. Good one Stubby Holder! Was scruffing around looking for the cache at ground zero, found it by accident just before we were about to give up! Smile Logged our visit, took nothing and left nothing! Twas a good day at the park, and we thoroughly enjoyed our hunt (despite the very last bit of frustration!!!) Smile

This one was a good one and had us on a lovely walk in the park early morning. We stayed at a near by backpackers (and no limo's for us either Smile hehe). We had no prob working out the clues but were almost beaten by the actual cache. We thought it must have been gone but went back later and found it with a litle help....great one guys....took nothing left nothing.

This was the last in a list of unsuccessful searches on this date. I hiked in from the north end of the park and walked the entire route, solving each of the intermediate steps without difficulty. I took a detour after the first stop in order to search for the Curse of the 3-legged Dog cache, but I struck out there, too. I arrived at the actual cache location shortly before sundown and guessed the hiding spot even before decrypting the clue; but I was unable to locate the cache. After decrypting the clue, I again poked around in the correct location, but I was still unable to find the cache.

Thanks for placing this cache. This was a great park to visit, even though I wasn't able to log a single Found it!

Well, very sad to say it but we couldn't find the cache after almost an hour of search. We were sure that the final clue brought us to the right place. Just suspecting that the cache might be gone. Anyway, we will try again next time! Ta!

Yes it is easy once the co-ordinates where corrected. An apology would be nice from Stubby Holder.

This was quite fun. Took a bit of rummaging in the needles to find, but eventually got there.

Nothing about finding our way to this stash was too difficult for the two dogs on a cache finding roll, but have you ever seen this park at lunchtime on a public holiday? Thousands of souls doing all sorts of activities and not a blade of secluded grass anywhere. In fact the cache area was the venue of a pine cone fight for some kids and they were scouring the ground (including ground zero) for every fallen pine cone they could lay their hands on. Needless to say it made our search very tricky and took us ages to hopefully throw the little buggers off the scent of what we were doing. We covered our tracks extra well but fear that the cache could have been found after we left, because they were fast running out of ammo and searching frantically for more. Might be worth a check by any cacher who is out this way soon. Took a soap bar and Ball and left an army issue F.R.E.D and some very hot sauce.
Good one Stubby Holder. That's three of yours today.

We hope Cutie Pie comes back and has another go at this one. We also have a copy of the original instructions and know why she? failed.

Oh yes very tricky. If not for trusty Dan would have been chasing wild geese all day. Some tame geese chased us, though. A nice stroll around.

No. 3 for the day @ 5:05pm. I just realised I have a copy of the old sheet, sans extra clue. I know where cutie pie went wrong. Still it was a good cache, thoroughly enjoyable. The Ginger Loon was feeling a bit lazy so he drove. Good thing too or I would have missed it. Nothing much took my fancy but I did leave some soap and of course some Chaos Cash. Also bumped into a guy who'd just finished a game of Unicycle Hockey. And you thought geocaching was a bizarre concept! Wink

Talk about easy, this one was a walk in the park!!
We did this one on foot, enjoying a Sunday afternoon stroll. No brain-teasers or bush-bashing, just a nice relaxing cache.
Left some mini-games, and took the candle.

SmileGratitude to stubby holderSmile

Ahoy Stubby Holder!!

What a sly fox. Blackbeard and 1st mate's second attempt and this time paying close attention to all the clues. We had forgotten what a great park we have in the city. These days the inner city residents seem to have its maximum benefit.

Found the stash right where you said it would be in a secluded place, unlike the 1st area frequented by the fruits of the park.

The stash was a little damp at the bottom. We exchanged a Snow White beanie baby for a scented candle, super glue and Blackbeard's calling card.

Don't know how anyone could have any problems with this one. Nice and easy, and a great cache in a lovely location. Interesting waypoints too.

We did this one just before we went to the outdoor cinema in the park to see Grease
Only had about 30minutes to do it and the seats in the cinema were filling fast so the race was on! One way roads slowed us down a tad but we managed it just in time to get a great spot for the movie.

Took the M&M's which came in handy for the movie, and left a traveling cache bear.

Great cache Stubby Holder!!

HINT: Don't use the car, you just end up going around in circles!

What gives? None of the check points where close to the clues and the final location was inside a fenced of area telling people to keep out.

09-Jan-02
Went out and checked this cache today. The coordinates are right. Please read all the clues carefully. However, I have added another clue which is encrypted.
