Out and about grabbing a few caches and admiring an absolutely beautiful scenic area....This is a powertrail of my most favorite type......One with surroundings of beauty......Great job .....
Like many others now we didn't find this one but the scenery and the search was still awesome....

What better way to spend a drizzly Tuesday arvo than drive to Marysville with 88andy88 to pick up a few caches.
Unfortunately this one eluded us. Sad

Got too hot searching for this one, and some funny looks from passing muggles... left the series TBC at #7. Plan to return another time and finish it off! Stunning weather otherwise Smile

Hmm where could this one be...SO many potential hiding spots! Tricky!

30-Jun-15
We spent a long time on this one and came up empty handed.
A review of the logs later may suggest that we went too hard.
We'll be back another day.
Thanks for the challenge Datruk.

Cold wet weather today thought it would be a good time to do this series with not too may tourists around.

Have been up Lady Talbot Drive many, many times in pre-GC life but I don't think I have looked at it so thoroughly as on this late arvo run, what a great way to explore what I always thought of as a well known road! But how far will we get before we run out of light?! Thanks for the huge effort getting all these caches out there Smile

Faulksi was more interested in the river and its potential for fishing than finding the cache. We completed the task though and moved on. Thanks Datruk

Thought I'd do some of the caches along here while here. Will have to come back to do the rest as ran out of time. Thanks for this collections of cashes.

Manzie and I were heading to Marysville for the day, as, despite its close proximity, we had never ventured here before. The plan was to complete the Lady Talbot Drive and collect local caches on the way. What a lovely area, it seems most people have moved on from the fires, although the damage is still evident six years on.

At this point in our adventure all was still going well—this was another easy find for manzie. TFTC!

Today we explored Marysville and surrounds using geocaching as a guide.

Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache for our enjoyment.

Very nice hide . Took all 3 of us to find it . Well we all learnt you don't have to go far to find the good ones Smile

15-Feb-15
Found it

06-Feb-15
Had a bit of time, so grabbed a couple in this series, will need to return later to get the rest.
Quite an impressive bit of timber. The number of hiding places was large, so after no luck in searching re-evaluated the situation and cache was soon in hand. TFTC.

Found at 10:00 AM GAFF1. Wonder if the log was bigger before the fire. Still looks enormous.
Thanks Datruk.

07-Dec-14
Found it, ever get into that mode where the caches just seem to walk out and say "hi, grab me!". We were in that mode and then "POW" a GZ with a million hidey holes just perfect for a cache but all bar one empty, finally found it in the easiest to get at and the least expected.......TFTC

25-Nov-14
Gotcha!

25-Nov-14
Not as hard as we thought given the previous logs, but an awesome location!

05-Oct-14
We were camping in Marysville for the weekend and our boys are really early risers - rather than try to keep them quiet until a reasonable hour we decided to hit the Lady Talbot drive series. It was magical at 6.30 am! The boys took it in turns to find 5 caches on Saturday morning and then the other 7 on Sunday before we hit the permanent-looking "Road Closed" sign. This one took a while. Reading the previous logs we knew it would be tricky, but remembering the location of most other hides we had it after about 5 mins.

15-Sep-14
Lots of wombat droppings so watching our steps we had a short search before finding the cache at 11:55. TFTC

24-Aug-14
Found with Legoman9x. wanted to hit as many caches as possible that arvo, decided to drive and do quick retrieves on those on Lady Talbot Drv.

23-Aug-14
Found with Winniethebear. After completing the Michaeldene Track we decided to try hit this cluster of caches late in the afternoon. Lack of mobile data and GPS reception made things a little bit more difficult. We were running low on time, so we were going straight to the hints. Gloves are a must for this series.
This had us looking for quite a while. The geosenses were tingling in a large area, but wasn't turning anything up. Read some logs and continued searching. I think we were both ready to give up when we found it. Pretty simply, shouldn't have taken as long as it did. TFTC.

23-Jul-14
Had a good look around. Did not find.

19-Jul-14
This one took us the longest to find. We were definitely stumped for a while. Our gps was pretty accurate with this one and after reading other logs we knew it was a tricky one. Geokids had fun jumping in puddles whilst we continued to look and just when we thought we'd have to log a dnf geohusband found it! We took the "cool prize" left by rallywrxwagon...thanks...and kids traded some of their treasures.

This one is a clever hide. I gave up twice on it but you know how it is , " if I dont find it this third search I give up " and I finally found it . Tn left a small inspirational charm for the next cacher because their going to enjoy it when they find this clever cache . Thanks.

Find #1161

Another trip to Warburton and beyond with my caching partner, Stemicmitsar. Our transportation varied from car to bikes to good old Shank's Pony. The day dawned with the promise of fine weather and it was fine for all but the briefest of periods.
We tried to find this one our way up the trail and searched for a good 15 minutes before deciding to move one.
Having had to turn back before the end by a road closure we felt compelled to try again on our return journey.
We considered the placement relative to the road of other caches in this series and also the methods of hiding that had been employed but still couldn't find this cache.
There were so many good hiding places for a small container. We even used our torches to peer into the darkest of hiding places to no avail.
Whilst searching some distance from Steve, I gently prodded and poked the area near me because frankly, I was out of ideas and then my bat like hearing detected the unmistakable sound of a mostly hollow plastic container. [^] Further investigation revealed the cache in it's sneaky hide. Phew, our perfect record for this trip was still intact. Big Grin
SL TFTC A favourite point from me.

Found @ 3:41pm, find # 3216.

This was another great day of caching out in the bush with Biggles1024, with a mix of transportation to get us to the various locations and GZ's. ( car, bike, foot ).
After our great bike ride, we decided to head up to Marysville and tackle the Lady Talbot Trail.
We had stopped at this one earlier on as we were heading along the road, but after we had checked out the scenery and a lot of spots to hide a cache which obviously were not the correct ones, we then decided to head on to the next one.
As we had to turn around sooner than we had planned, we had to stop at this one to give it another go.
Again we searched the area trying to find ant new spots that we had not checked previously, after a bit more time went by, finally Mark had hit the spot and this tricky little sucker was found.
Thanks to Datruk for placing this cache.

12-Apr-14
We took some time searching around the GZ but were unable to locate the cache. There ware many likely hiding places at the GPS coordinates but we couldn't find what we were looking for. Walked through the fallen tree trunks and onto the beginning of the tree which crossed the river, but decided not to temp fate. Had another look around in and around the stumps and holes but to no avail.

13-Mar-14
All good as the cache is still there

12-Mar-14
This one took a lot of searching, but we were determined not to leave until we found it as it has not been found for so long. SL at 11.25am #2049 It was very pleasant beside the River that was bubbling along beside us. Cache and contents were in good condition and we were so pleased to add it to our finds this morning. TFTC - a very sneaky one Datruk and well worth the search.

Unable to find this one Sad aimed to try again on the way back down the hill but ran out of time. Did love the river at this particular spot, climbed along the fallen trees over the river and enjoyed the serenity for a while before moving on to the next find. Sad not to find the cache, but thank-you for taking us here.

This was the most difficult one that I found so I will give it a favorite. Just a matter of not being sucked in by the big black holes! Thanks GeoScouts.

10-Apr-13
13:17:31 It is funny after so many caches along this trail I still was not sick of what I was seeing. The regrowth of the bush is amazing and to hear and see what is around you in piece and quite was great. It was around this area that a little field mouse bounded across the road.

thank you Datruk and geoscouts for the fun and trip along a lovely trail.

Gypsy jj and I looked and looked, decided to continue the rest of the series and continue the search on our return. Still no success on further searching. In frustration I said It's got to be easier than this! Well look somewhere easier, so I did, and there it was all along. Another smiley. TFTC Datruk

King Jr with Geoprince

According to tradition Geoprince and I go camping at each school holiday - this time we headed to Marysville for some fun and adventure.

A really nice drive with places to picnic and enjoy the waters rushing by. We took it in turns to do the finding and entering the basic log for us to come back to.

This one took us a little longer as I was looking initally in the wrong spot - prahaps getting a little to cocky as I didnt take the GPS out of Turtle just reling on our geosence. Took a step back and thought about it and then the cache was in hand

Our thanks as always to Datruk

Find # 2178

Today was the last day I could go caching with my partner in caching SedgwickDave before he was to leave for a holiday, so we wanted to go somewhere where we could find lots of caches. It was decided to head to the Marysville area via Healsville and a few caches there too. It was a fantastic sunny spring day and really the ideal day to go caching.

This one took a bit of time to locate but we did find it. A beautiful spot close to the river.

Thanks to Datruk and Geoscouts for the cache. TNLN

Found @1624 #2029
Today was another epic today with some good numbers in a region I've been meaning to visit for some time. Was with best mate and caching wingman ahomburg once more with the plan to do the Lady Talbot series as well as other caches in the surrounding region. The weather today was ideal for a big run with a temperature of about 23 and sunny. A good all round day with different types of caches (3 type rule achieved) and some high and low terrain ratings completed. Fascinating to see how much the region was hit by the fires in Feb 2009 and today it coming back which is great to see.

This took longer to spot then it should have, very nice. TFTC GeoScouts

I got word from Dr Jim that he was panning an 4x4 assault out east.. so plans were made to take the day off work and join the fun.. C@H woosed out when the weather got nasty.. So it was down to the two of us to fly the flag and spread the good caching word.. Mostly the bad weather saw us coming and ran the other way.. Although nothing could scare the snow away, however despite the cold conditions I wouldn't have traded it for the world.. go as far as saying best caching experience ever.. The trust steed (4x4 hire truck) did us well and mostly stayed on the road.. Smile Thanks to all the various cache owners for your part in our fun day, and of course to the Captain of the fair ship, Dr Jim.. Sorry for the proforma copy/paste log.. TFTC Dipped various bugs and TB's to mark the occasion..

Here started the power trail hour which saw us smash the 20 caches in 60minutes, Hows that TDC?
Thanks Datruk and Team Coxy, awsome fun, nice tight series, good coords and hints, nice combination of hide styles and cache containers.. Replaced #19 logbook too.. Thanks also to Laurie for the PAF help..

JMelb likes to celebrate Mother's Day on the Saturday (if possible) as we always have a busy day on actual Mother's Day with Church then visiting J's Mum and G's Mum (who lives some distance away) in the afternoon, so this year she chose to go to Marysville for "her day". It was actually a nicer day than had been predicted although the temperature did drop as we went over the Black Spur! We had lunch in Marysville and looked around the local shops and could see some more rebuilding since our last visit about 1 year ago.
Gmelb hunted around for this cache as per the listed co-ordinates while JMelb took photos of MMelb walking across the log over Taggerty River. After a while he still hadnt found it so JMelb checked her smartphone and found that the cache had been moved and thankfully the new co-ords were on the maintenance log. Smile Once we had the right co-ords the cache was found. Oh also the clue needs to be updated too Smile TNLNSL

#2517 Cache find No.7 and this poor cache had suffered from water damage. Unfortunately the ziplock bag was not enough to keep the log book dry - water levels must have been a little high here in recent weeks. Normally we carry spare but unfortunately had none to assist today. The stream was beautiful here though - we could've just sat at the waters edge for ages if we had the time. Thanks heaps for the cache in a great series Datruk and GeoScouts.

Found it today with Mrs Iamapom, Landau351 and Mrs Landau351 having a crack at the Lady Talbot powertrail in my Landrover Defender.
Nice straight forward find, but it appears that the river has been in flood. The cache contained quite a bit of water, which I poured out. But log is still quite wet, and needs maintenance. Would be nice if the next finder could replace the logbook.

29/12/2011 14:44 9 of 23. A big day out around Marysville with Mr & Mrs iamapom. We used the four wheel drive for a day of driving on dirt (but luckily the roads were good today). I used my glove, reached down and grabbed it. As it is beside the river, the cache had some water in it. Probably been flooded and luckily not floated off. Log was a little damp. TFTC Datruk TNLN SL
