Found - Mrs McMike2012 & I live full-time in our caravan travelling around NZ, visiting the places we want to visit & doing the things we want to do and fitting in a bit of Geocaching here & there we have headed to Ashburton & parked up we were due to meet up with friends for coffee later in the morning, so thought wed do a short country trip beforehand not sure where the highways are here, but these country roads sure were busy this morning, everybody must be going to & fro to church the cache was an easy find, log-book signed & cache returned as found were also pleased to add another 'smiley face' to the tally TFTC ... TN:LN:LS this was #6,489 for us!
This took longer than it should have. I noticed something that might work for the hint, but as it was over 10m away I initially disregarded it. After some searching that was exactly where angelic_kiwi found it. tftc
Wow that is a lot of roads joining in one place! Our coordinates had us about 10m from the cache but it was in a logical spot and nice and dry, although looks as though it has been quite wet in the past, but the log book was in good condition. Thanks for placing the cache, we had fun out caching in this area.
Took Heidi the Himalayan motorcycle for an overnight adventure, with the primary purpose to cache out the seaward side of SH1 south of Rakaia to the Ashburton River. After a largely productive day one and a night spent at Hakatere Campsite, a neat little unattended patch of grass on the side of a dead-end road right on the coast, I rose like the Undead to consume several coffees and continue my mid-week weekend mission.Day two consisted of many more kilometers of sealed and unsealed country roads, heading south to visit a Parental, then striking inland via the scenic route back to Home Base.TFTC
Another month, another challenge. I'm keen to see how many days I can manage to get out and find caches this month. This is Day 13. After visiting some shops in Ashburton, we made a slight detour on our way home to find a couple of caches. This was the first one I found today. Not in the first place I checked but when I looked around I spotted the hint object and there was the cache. TFTC, Biggles.
Out and about getting some rural caches, taking the car for a bit of a drive.
Quickly found, little bit of water in the cache but the log was sitting on top of the swag so was only a little damp... drained it out and placed in a way that hopefully it won't be an issue... next time I'm down this way I'll try detour and bring a ziplock bag. Thanks
TFTC N!mrod, the cache was found in good order Signed, sealed and returned to GZ. 14 find(s) of 15 today, making this find #3635

First cache of the day.
I went to what I thought was a likely hint item but all I got was a dirty hand. Oops, not there then.
I then let the GPSr settle, went were it pointed and thought Aha! There! Log signed I headed down the road for my first and only DNF for the day.

Heading back home today and decided to grab some caches for a challenge I am working on. Needed another 25 trads. Spotted this line of caches not on the main road and thought that would be a good start. All quick finds and some very good hides as well. Enjoyed my hour down this road picking up some very cool caches. Love this game. Thanks to all the CO's for placing and maintaining
Our GPSr was pointing at another location, but then the obvious hide was spotted. TFTC!
A few cars passing by at first, but between the time of leaving my geocar and finding the cache, there were no passersby. Nice easy cache out in the country.
Thanks for the cache!
Thanks for the cache!
Oh dear - my 1st stop for the afternoon, no luck here.... doesn't bode well for the day !
This remote intersection was a lot busier than I expected. I got a few odd looks as a stumbled around watching my gps pin down the hide.
Nice day so packed a picnic and went out exploring. Love how our new hobbie takes us to areas never been to before. Found the cache nice and dry and signed the log. Thanks for bringing us here and the cache N!mrod.
Found with muggle sister who joined me for a trip to Ashburton for the day and attend Kiwi Nomad's event.
Heading home after a fun weekend in Christchurch and a few planned stops along the way to help me with my goal of getting to #3000 by the end of the year. A bit of a detour along this road and after a bit of wandering around the find was finally made TFTC
Decided to go backboard of Ashburton and do a bit of caching. Easy quick find. No pencil so make sure you take your own pen
Found some distance from where my GPS suggested, however an obvious hiding place; TFTC
Took longer than it should have as the gps jumped around a lot. Also I was looking for a vertical hint object rather than what it eventually turned out to be!. Thanks for the cache.
Driving down to the event in Oamaru with Injeanious, we drove slowly and took some of the back roads to pick up some caches on our way. We signed the log as JeJe to save time and space. This one took a little searching before we found it, TFTC!
JD and I set off early to Oamaru for the Geofest and grabbed a number of caches on the way. Another fun geocaching road trip! We signed the log as Jeje.
There sure are a lot of these intersections in the back country, we nearly went the wrong way at this one. Neat hiding place. How did you spot that that hidey hole? Tftc.

StreetWalker and I want to reach 3000 finds for the year - a record for us - but I was still 95 caches shy (SW needed 83) so we thought the 53 remaining Thompsons Track caches would get us well on the way to our target. We left Christchurch at about 7am, and by 11:30am we were heading to Ashburton for a well deserved coffee and, being gluttons for punishment, some more caches .
With 80 caches found, we were well pleased with our day, thanks to the COs for their cache placements.
After a smash and grab type raid of some Ashburton caches, it was time to head back to Christchurch - via the scenic route, of course .
These many way intersections are a feature of the Canterbury countryside, and we can only be thankful that this was a meeting of quiet roads else it would be a nightmare to negotiate. Didn't take long to track down the cache. TFTC.

#13605. I like the way many of these multi-way intersections have been fine tuned to reduce the number of roads meeting at one point. TFTC.
Meant to log this a while ago and forgot to get round to it! Quick find with Caiktin & Geomum
TFTC! (Sorry about the generic logging)

A nice quick find in the dark heading out passed Dorie to pick up some of Chelsea new egg caches. I was preoccupied trying to interupt the hint to fit GZ went something caught Mums eye. GPS was 10m out at GZ. Thanks for the cache
Out for a caching trip with geomum, nice easy find but such a busy spot - - unbelievable!! TFTC
A quick find after waiting for traffic clear (all heading to a tractor rally of all things!) TFTC.
Quick park and grab while out and about from Rangitata. Got muggled by the local farmer who's son had found the cache one day waiting for the school bus. He came roaring over in his tractor to ask me what it was all about so explained the geocaching world to him. Found with Conbat. TFTC!
First time using geocaching. Found this treasure 500 metres from home. Amazed for this experience!!!
Yep quick park and grab when we figured out just which road we needed to take to park as close as possible to the cache. Also took the wrong road to the next cache. Lucky we realised in short order.
I headed out of AshVegas via the back roads this morning
Anything to avoid the madness of SH1 !! [:o]
This patch of six or seven lane highway was rather relaxed by comparison [^]
I arrived via the road that led past the huge abattoir
A lot of moo, baa and oink must pass through that plant !!
Cache was an easy find in between sparse road movements this morning

Show weekend and a Road Trip to Dunedin with 'The Boys'....Karma Reprint & TheWanglers. Initially came up with the acronym KiTT but on seeing the TT looked like a Pi symbol we quickly changed to Ka(Pi) (ie. Kapai)....and a fantastic weekend it was. 3 days, 1100km, a heap of caches and great fun.
Sun was just starting to rise...lovely....quick find on a wee detour out of Rakaia - nice wee spot. Cheers.

Headed down south with C&D and 11HPG11 for the CHCH Mega as part of the HOAC team, and decided that a Mega road trip/Mega Mission was the right thing to do. After a great day caching from Dunedin to Omarama we manged to get a few hours sleep before the big day 2 started.
Day 2 was the start of a ambitious plan to try and find as many caches as possible in one day! To maximise our chances of a big number we decided a 24 hour caching day was the only way to go. What an epic day, and some great moments too. The rough idea was to cache from Omarama to Oamaru, and then head north towards Christchurch. A huge thanks to everyone for the cache placments, and I apologise for the copy and past logs.
Find #402 for the day.
Last find of the day and with 9 minutes left till midnight and our goal of 400 caches done with a couple of extra just in case. A well deserved sleep needed now.

This was the start of a MEGA caching weekend in the company of good caching friends. In the company of both HKCB & 11HPG11 this was going to be another memorable caching road trip for many reasons.
This is the mission that we had set ourselves up for several months back. It was HKCB's idea, I was just dumb enough to think it was a challenge and I'd be up for it, 11HPG11 was silly enough to come along for the ride once we confirmed a spare seat (Nova Lightening pulled out for family reasons).
We were going to try to beat the NZ one day record in New Zealand (it would have been easier with 4 people), so after 2.5hrs sleep after a good feed at Omarama we were ready to go. This was the number three hundred and twenty eighth on what was to be an epic day with what amounted to 401 caches collected for the day and about 38 DNF's. We managed this with 10minutes to spare but by this time we were done for and still had to drive back to Kaiapoi. All in all an epic days caching with good friends and something I don't think any of us will repeat in a hurry.
All in all it was going to be a big day with a number of challenges, great scenery, and of course great company. Fantastic driving along and up here as the landscape was so different from what we are used to back in the Waikato. One good thing about backroads being that we could continue our neferious activites without being disturbed by muggles.
Nice quick find here without any issues .
thanks for the placement , thanks for the cache

What a Mega Mission for a group of Hamilton Over Achievers! A great trip, a long time in the planning. I teamed up with Cats&Dragons and HKCB to grab a couple of caches while in Christchurch and surrounding areas for the 2015 Mega Event. We flew out from Auckland on Friday night and traveled to Dunedin in the dark of the night. Stopped for a few hours sleep before setting off to grab caches in the Otago area on Saturday before attempting a few more on Sunday and then arriving at the Mega on the Monday. An amazing, yet crazy road trip. Signed logs as HOAC to save room
When C&D mentioned a day with over 400 caches I should have turned and ran... instead I said yes, and here we are. 401 caches in 23 hours and 50 minutes. All done on about 2.5hr of sleep. It was hard work with only 3 of us and there were times that were hard and tiring but I still had a blast! An amazing experience that one has to be slightly crazy to even consider
The final cache of our 24hour mission! Thanks for the placements that allowed us to meet our crazy goal! Now time for sleep!

On our way to the NZ Mega in Christchurch and this was one of our stops. Found with Aoraki Sheep.
Another cache found today with Woody104 on the first day of our Mega Adventure. Salamat!
Another great find while slowly heading to the Christchurch Mega.
Thanks for adding to the fun of my trip!

Found on a Sunday drive around the area. Co-ords were about 5 m out, so look for the obvious.TFTC
I decided to take our campervan out for a spin to make sure her battery wouldn't die. I also wanted to experience the Rakia Bridge with out my "helpful " family commentating as I went over it. No work today meant I could go on this wee solo adventure. Gee that wind was cold and strong. It didn't stop me finding your cache but it did stop me from going back to the van to get some travel bugs to drop in it. It was a nice sized cache. I am not sure what they are planning to do on that patch but they have cleared some stuff away.
GPS coordinates slightly out approx 5 Mrs but it is in a obvious place so found it tftc fou d with team MacDonald
Another great find. An obvious location which helped as my gps was off by about 5 metres. Tftc

Cheers for this, nice find on the way home from Christchurch. Coords were slightly out so had a bit of thinking to do
Having an Easter "it's all about the numbers" weekend. Day 3.
Coming to the end of a long days caching. Tent already pitched at the Rakaia Motor Camp. Just time for a few more finds before dinner.
Last cache for the day - #103. Off to the tent now to do it all over again tomorrow.
