As there's been no cache to find for months, I'm archiving it to keep it from continually showing up in search lists, and to prevent it from blocking other cache placements. If you wish to repair/replace the cache sometime in the future, just contact us (by email), and assuming it meets the guidelines, we'll be happy to unarchive it.
Need to come back to this one. Too many muggles about.
Cache seems to have HAtched and gone walkabouts.
Cache seems to have HAtched and gone walkabouts.
Staying close by had two or three looks and scratched around but unable to find disappointing as we had traveled from the Bay of Plenty
Staying at family batch 50 metres away so searched quite thoroughly but came up with broken glass only.
Searched at all likely places but nothing found. Cache may have gone missing. Loads of muggles around.
Looked in the obvious place, then extended the search, then read the previous logs which would confirm it's most likely gone.
Didn't find this one but I do love eating quiche. A lovely day out exploring this beautiful coastline with my caching buddy GraciesGPSfun. Thanks anyway
First cache in Matapouri, hidden in a beautiful spot overlooking the beach. What a great place to be.
Today we drove upwarts north. On the way we pickup some caches. And this one was one of it. An other great day in new zealand.TFTC
Found quickly on the start of the mermaid pools walk. Muggle free time so quick SL and replace. TFTC
Nice easy find after a beautiful evening walk along Matapouri beach. Spelluncle enjoyed his old stamping grounds. Thanks for the egg.
13th find on a caching road trip before a family function. Last time we were here there were too many muggles to even begin looking. This time the scattered showers kept them away and the next the egg series was quickly found. TFT(brekie)C.
Found it
Love this beach, stunning day & not many about. Replaced cache carefully - no cracks or breaks

During the last weeks, well months, I had the luck to find a lot of geocaches in NZ. I'm really sorry that I can't remember everyone and have to write a log like this. But after all I found this country to be a beautiful place (not only for cachers!)

This was one of the caches I found in NZ. I found many very nice locations and interesting views. Sorry that it is not possible for me to remember each one. So I write a default log. Thanks to all owners.
Thanks for the Cache.

Decided to do a bit of a day tour of Northland and grab some easy drive-bys in the process. Thanks.
Because this showed up as a trad, looked where coords took me & then wondered all over the place until found the cute cache. Ok I didn't read the description carefully but these coords might help avoid a scramble for future geocachers to a quicker quiche find : S 35 33.795 E 174 30.398

After having a break at the beach I was looking for the cache.
Great idea for a container.

Coordinate's need updating as lead yoy to the.old nest. So had to us tbe hint and description to find the little cutie hiding away. TFTC. Had no pen with us to log our visit, but added a pic to prove our visit.
In Whangarei again for the weekend to attend a meeting and add some more smilie faces to our Northland map.
Aha, there you are, into the basket you go. Basket nearly full now.
Searched the wrong of the boardwalk to start with but after a bit of pondering decided where it had to be.
Thanks Flowernz for another smilie.

#6177. Cache was at the opposite end of the boardwork to GZ. Reading the cache description properly led me to search in the right spot. TFTC.
Looks like the co-ords haven't been updated since the cache was moved - a lesson to us to read the cache description. StreetWalker found the cache - eventually.
Another fantastic bay in Northland. TFTC.

I finally made it to Matapouri Bay today after a false start last Tuesday. Today it started fine and stayed that way all day.
This was the first one and a nice easy one to start with.
Cheers for the cache.
Wandering around for a while until the obvious place dawned. Beautiful afternoon at the beach. TFTC
2.40pm. Third time here. First attempts it was MIA. Had given up again as the coords seem to be still set for the original placing and I could not find it there. Was actually moving off in the car when I spotted a young lad, who was with a couple near the ramp, place something behind a post. I got out for a chat and was able to retrieve it an sign the log. Do the coords need attention or did I just get it wrong? Great to be able to finally get the last of the eggs! That's worth a point for all the effort!
Thank you. David.
Thank you. David.
collected after completing the CANZ cache and will have to come back in daylight to get the rest of the caches near here, maybe if the weather was a bit better I would have carried on but as I wasn't properly prepared thought it best to wait for daylight

(540) Out with the family caching today. Thought we would take a walk around Matapouri and pick up a few caches. TFTC
Nice and easy. Last one to find on this area. might have to place our own one.
Out checking on the eggs - this had hatched and flown - but didn't get too far...
Take care to open gently and rehide carefully - Thanks

This one is missing. Saw the spot under boardwalk where it was hidden. Might want to check on this. Nice day at the beach!
Saw where it was supposed to be. Great idea, beautiful day at the beach
9162... We just couldn't get beaten for not laying our hands on a slice of quiche with the throngs of muggles around baking in the hot sun, managed to filling time by taking photos of Matapouri Beach, took advantage of a break in the crowd and eggstracted the crust of the hide, TFTC.

Co-ords a bit out for us, placing us at the other end of the boardwalk. Went back to the other end and it was a quick find, took longer to replace with a sudden in flux of muggles enjoying the area. Yumbo quiche, one of our more satisfying egg dishes. TFTC

Spent the weekend visiting family in Whangarei.
After breakfast in the town basin (Bacon and Eggs / French Toast) we were inspired to find some more eggs!

Up at dawn for a walk over to Whale Bay. Grabbed this cache while no one was on the beach. Almost impossible to get during the day as so many people about. TFTC, nice hide.
Finally can cross this egg off. Pleanty of muggles enjoying the place lower end of beach, so made for a fast grab thanks.
Can finally wipe the egg from my face! Not nearly as muggly today so able to quickly grab a piece of quiche. TFTC
Way too many muggles today to make the grab, but "dipping" a couple of geocoins...(FTF & Christmas Tree)
Driving the loop from Hikurangi to Whangarei via Tutukaka, collecting a basketful of eggs. Quiche was next on the menu, but on a hot summer's day this was a very popular spot, and it looked like we might miss out on this eggy dish. Then there was a break in the muggle to-ing and fro-ing, and one of us was able to snatch the quiche while the other took photos of the bay with the GPS. TFTC.

Well have been here THREE TIMES and seems as if muggles love egg sandwiches or bacon/eggs for brekkie. NOT A SIGN or a crack shell to be seen. only an empty nest which is still in place. Can I come with u next time you place it then it would be a find haha. May pay to check as I see another log also DNF. cheers
Oddly enough this one stayed unfound...infact I think someone had made an egg sandwich of it as there was a pile and a half of the gritty stuff at GZ.
