Arrived here to find this cache, after a string of DNFs I decided to replace the cache in a more sensible hiding spot as per my photo attached. With a few days off I headed over to the northern Eyre peninsula for a 2 night stay in Whyalla, my main aim for the few days was the FITG and the FTF trail plus finding a few caches here and there along the way. Just under 300 caches found for the trip. Thanks for the cache
Full time Nomads since March 2014.
Having been in Perth to visit family our stay has come to an end and we are on our way to Broken Hill for the Mundi Mundi Bash.
We stayed overnight in Iron Knob and headed out to attempt the local caches before we left! Well that was not very well planned with 2 DNF and only 1 Find and that was using coords found in a previous log.
We were unable to find your cache today.

Stopped by iron knob for a work related issue…all sorted so it turned into a cache adeventire. I ooked and looked with my PIC but to no avail.
Either my compass is hungover or it’s missing…or I’m hung
Either my compass is hungover or it’s missing…or I’m hung
this has been replaced on 3 occasions now in the last yr and the last time being sept. so it should still be all ok.
Heading over to tackle a few days on Eyre Peninsula with Mattycat and Perfect Di, Day 2 had us exploring Iron Knob to Kimba back to Whyalla, this was a DNF last trip and was hoping to turn into a smilie as we passed through town, seeing the last log that it had been replaced we made the detour and fortunately the cache was soon spotted

We are on the road travelling up through central Australian and down the coast of WA. Geocaching has taken us to so many great places in this beautiful country. I was happy to grab a few caches along the way and this was one of them.
Replaced this after contacting the CO. Hope it stays in play for a while. Theres not much out this way, so nice to have something to do, when passing.
Thanks yakcm for placing this cache and doing the maintenance, so we can enjoy finding it.

Happy caching and safe travels!

I replaced it on the 1st and seen that it has already been found so thats great. lets hope it stays tis time.. I did notice they had done a big clean up in the area so maybe it was thrown by accident.
Heading to Streaky Bay for a holiday and stopped in town to see if I could find some old landmarks from when I was here many years ago. Didn't take long to find the cache. TNLNSL TFTC.
I had replaced im march but it looks like it may have gone missing again. I will be going out there in a few weeks so I will redo it again.

This weekend, I headed to Whyalla to catch up with a few other Geocachers and attempt some of the trails there. On Saturday, we targeted the FTF power trail from Whyalla to Iron Knob, and then spent the evening and the subsequent morning driving some of Whyalla's back tracks. On Sunday, I visited Cowleds Landing and back north, only to get severely bogged in one of Whyalla's clay pans. I then returned home via the August series.
Today, I joined hevwalker and scramping with our goal to complete the FTF power trail. We got 75% through before taking a break for lunch in Iron Knob, and then completed the remaining geocaches, finishing in the early afternoon. We then visited the new Whyalla circular jetty, and then had dinner at the Eyre Hotel geocaching event. Finally, we headed out for a quick stop at Whyalla Conservation Park, and then headed around the tracks around the levee finding miscellaneous geocaches, all within a nice and balmy evening.
I was previously here at this location only in June, and so knew exactly where this cache should have been. I can definitely confirm that the cache is missing, and not nearby having suffered by cache creep. I think the CO needs to check on this location. Thanks anyway yakcm and On Cache Patrol.

With Davidwazza and hevwalker..David had found this before and it was definitely missing from the place he had found it .....we did a very thorough search with no luck.
I may not have found it this time but I will pass by another day and try again with fresh eyes
Enjoying a relaxing long weekend going for a cruise, chilling, camping and caches. Life is good.

Day 309 ( Friday 3rd ) of our trip. Caching along the way. In Iron knob today. A total of 17 for the day and 6027 for the trip. TFTC
This weekend, [@jesswrigley](http://coord.info/PRNW59T) and I headed to Point Lowly and Whyalla to scuba dive with the cuttlefish, who annually migrate there over the winter months to breed. The cuttlefish were plentiful, with the largest groups that I had seen from several prior visits there. Whyalla was a good little city, but unfortunately due to COVID-19, a number of steelworks and mine tours had been cancelled in the current times.
Our final day in Whyalla, and so we decided to do some local sightseeing/geocaching around Whyalla's old centre of town. This also involved a drive up a local hill. We then visited a few multi-caches around the area, including Whyalla's airport, and on its outskirts where there were some obvious 4WD and MTB tracks around the place. Our final adventure was a 4WD trip up Mount Laura, of which we had some nice views of the quarry below/nearby. We then detoured to back home via Iron Knob, where again the town was rather quiet, and we couldn't see many views of the nearby mine. It was then time to head home to Adelaide, driving back through Port Augusta.
An interesting little structure here, and very worthy of a geocache placement! It turned out that I was checking higher difficulty places first, getting on my back and all that jazz, before taking a step back, and making the find. The cache container and logbook were in good shape. Thanks yakcm and On Cache Patrol for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance.

I seem to remember this wagon from my younger days! The cache was nearby.
Out with Jack and Sebastbat for a little June Long Weekend fun of our own - as this year's event was thwarted by a naughty virus! Headed out, umm, thataway... plenty of little boxes on the map to be turned into smilies
Only just making a small dent in the geomap for Whyalla and a bit to the west.
Sorry logs a bit generic as so many to do.
thanks for the cache yakcm

All the best caches are hidden at a safe social distance
(161m apart, though preferably not vertical distancing !!! )
Caching never stops with some serious help from soap, water, and especially alcohol...
( Good for cache cleanliness and coping with puzzles ! )
Once cacher per 4sqm is easily achieved
Space is good. Fresh air is good. Exercise is good. The great views are very good.
#washyourhands - we don't know where the cache has been!
Gloves are handy - but only if you change them between finds !
#washyourhandsagain please
Support the regions! Hide a cache in the Barossa and another
#keepwashingyourhandsagainandagain
[xx(] If you stay "Covidsafe" you may just avoid a whole bunch of other nasty germs this flu season too
Hand hygiene and keeping safe distances can reduce your chance of common cold, flu, pneumonia, gastro, and a whole bunch of other nasties, as well as that corona thing
Ease your restrictions carefully. But get out and keep fit!
Enjoy caching. It's good for your physical and mental health

Nomads travelling in their caravan around Australia. We have been on the road since July 2011 and discovered caching in August 2013. We travel with a bunch of travel bugs belonging to our sons and grand children.
In an effort to get to find #5000 at Millicent, we have to speed up and slow down our caching rate. On our way to Mt Ive and Lake Gairdner for speed week, we have stopped over in Iron Knob for a couple of nights to break the journey.
Not often on our travels do we get the opportunity to turn around a sad blue face to a happy yellow face. Really don't know why we did not find this cache last time we were here. Thanks yakcm and On Cache Patrol

On our way to meet up with some nomads friends then off to Millicant for the mega event. TFTC.
Today our tour - which began in Perth, WA , and led us thru Western, Northern and Southern Australia back to Perth, was simply driving from Coober Pedy to Kimba.
On the way we came to some interesting locations. Here we searched, found and logged this Tradi-Cache.
Weather was good in the morning and it should even get better during the day.
Thanks to 'yakcm and On Cache Patrol' for showing us this location, for the fun we had with 'MMMMMM Wagon Wheels!' and for the smiley. The search here and today didn't take too much time, fortunately.
Greetings from Germany and we hope to see you soon in the forest, prairie, desert or outback .

After our free camp we headed into Port Augusta to get fuel and coffees. Then a few quick caches in town before the big drive over to Ceduna. It was an enjoyable trip with a few caches added in for extra interest. We picked up around 30 caches and arrived at Ceduna at 4pm for beers and then on to Penong for the Westies presentation night. This allowed the geohusband to catch up with all his old cronies and talk everything farming.
He enjoyed being back in his old stomping ground for the evening just like old times.
This one took a while to locate as the coordinates had us at the wagon but the cache is not there but well hidden nearby. Signed and replaced as found with plenty of natural cammo. TFTC

As there had been a few DNF’s logged I was not confident of a find here but after narrowing down the possibilities I made the discovery.
Cache is in good condition and log has plenty of room.

Today, our journey took us from Kimba via Iron Knob and on to Port Augusta.
So a kid hid this one hey. Well we had a kid look and a grown up look but still could not find it. Funny, later doing the tour of town the other people in the bus said they saw some people lying on their backs taking photos of the wagon!
Maybe next time around the countryside

I must have been stabbed in the head about 10 times and hands aswell looking for this one [damn prickle bushes].... fake rocks, mint tins it was all included in my search efforts. Looking on the wagon was pointless according to a previous log so that idea was scrapped, even though i did look at first [:o)] so today amidst all the "Quick Finds" it was anything but. I am known to be Cache-Blind too lol, so it is probably still there no doubt lol

Next morning I made this find and sign.
Not sure how I missed it last time.

TFTC After staying overnight at the park, I was delighted to find this cache. The multi at the park was too hard for me! It took me a while to spot it , but wrote my details and had a good look at the wagon and surroundings. Despite a few negative comments about the park on Wiki Camps, I think this is an interesting town and look forward to coming back to spend more time. A hot shower would have been fantastic after spending 10 days in several National Parks, but love the murals, playground, exercise equipment and community garden.
Found on our way back from a few days along Googs track and the Gawler Ranges. Stopped in Iron Knob to locate a few caches before heading on our way. Thanks for the cache On Cache Patrol!
Found during a coffee break as The X-Trailers and i head back to Adelaide from WA. TFTC which we found in the open and lid off. All ok now. TFTC
Relatively cool for iron knob today, it's only 26!!

Day 5 of the Perth to Adelaide trip where we started in Whyalla and ended in Adelaide.
Today was about finding as many caches as possible and starting / warming up to the larger power trails that bought us over here.
We completed the FTF series and the Letterbox caches.
During the morning we found the majority of the days caches, some highly favourited first up also.
Anyway the day has time limitations to it as we were hosting an event that started at 6pm and as it were we made it there at 5.59pm so early however the crowd of people there before us was rather pleasing.
It was great to see so much energy around Geocaching at the event the Adelaide teams really know how to impress and greet the visitors with a beer, thanks Freddo!
yakcm I found your cache MMMMMM Wagon Wheels! thanks for placing this hide for myself and others to find.

Day 5 of Barnzy and Cravo’s trip from Perth to Adelaide.
Today we travelled from Whyalla to Adelaide via a number of country towns.
We started bright and early just before sunrise to pickup a couple of caches North of Whyalla that had some high favourite points which had tickled our fancy.
We then moved our attention to the FTF power trail, which started just out of Whyalla and took us all the way to Iron Knob. Found a good variety of difficulty and terrain combinations along the trail, with some interesting hiding spots. There were a couple of DNFs and caches that took a while to find which stretched out the time taken to complete the series.
We eventually made our way to Iron Knob and picked up the couple of caches around town which were quite nice in a very small mining town.
We were pushing the time factor quite hard, so skipped a fair few caches, but had to stop in at Port Germain to grab the aptly names Port Germain cache, which filled in a spot on the Jasmer grid, and its where I rolled my ankle running back to the car which made things a bit difficult for the rest of the day.
The other main target for the day was the Postman Pat Letterbox Hybrid Series, which were great quick finds of nicely sized containers.
We left the LBH trail and made our way to quickly check into the accomodation and made our way to our event in Lights Square “Sandgropers in the City”, which we made it to exactly one minute before it started, but a good sized crowd was already waiting to greet us, which was really nice as it was at last minute we had the event published.
It was great to finally put some faces to names we’ve only seen in logs, in particular the SA legend Freddo and TeamAstro. It was very interesting learning of the large scale model of the solar system, of which we had found one of the caches on the Nullarbor on our way over.
After bidding farewell to the event attendees we grabbed a bite of food and walked around the CBD caching, with mixed results.

found it on a trip to Whyalla over the Adelaide cup long weekend. quick find at iron knob after making a dent in the ftf trail and then slowly home.
Mr Morris was heading from Bendigo to Lake Gairdner to see the Dry Lake Racers a trip that started last year but they didn't quite make it.
After spending the night in Burra today they headed towards Iron Knob for the night. The cache is still sans lid but is dry as old bones.

I found it quickly and then put it in a slightly more concealed spot, but still very easy to find.
Quick easy find as was on the ground laying around. So have put back where we think it should be. TFTC

We had fun with caching few weeks here in Australia ( South Australia and Northern Territory ). Lots of geocaches and many sort of them too. We saw awesome places, weather was good all the time and people were friendly and polite. Caches were pretty similar like in our home country. Of course there were some exeptions. Nice and huge country!

Team ICE on a two week geocaching trip in Australia. Our main target was the Red Centre Experience at Alice Springs but of course we did some caching in other places too. We drove from Adelaide to Alice Springs and then back. We saw lots of interesting and beutiful places like opal mines at Coober Pedy, Ayers Rock and Kata Tjuta. Our rental travelled almost 6500km on gravel and tarmac roads. The weather was great, only on last day we got some rain.
All the caches logged as Team Ice, T-ice or Tice with kapeka, laalaa and Hiltsu. We had a great trip!
Today our journey continued from Port Augusta to Whyalla and back. Some trail caches and others logged on the way.
