No response from owner. If you wish to repair/replace the cache sometime in the future, just contact us (by email), and assuming it meets the current guidelines, we'll be happy to unarchive it.
Grace period is up, time for this one to go.
If the usual pattern is followed I hope the owner will conform to the cache guidelines and ensure they are in a position to maintain the cache if they intend to place yet another one , and if they can't will leave the area vacant for anyone else who might want it.

The cache appears to be in need of owner intervention. I'm temporarily disabling it, to give the owner an opportunity to check on the cache, and take whatever action is necessary. Please respond to this situation in a timely manner (i.e., within 21 days) to prevent the cache from being archived for non-responsiveness.
I'm with the last few searches.. Nearly burnt my feet searching for this one and even searched wider. Pretty sure this is a goner. Suggest archiving or replacing in a better location / type of hide.
See my DNF log for an explanation as to why I am submitting this as needs archived rather than needs maintenance.
Didn't expect to find this in view of previous logs, but thought I would take a look just in case as I was caching in the area anyway and so I could if necessary submit a needs maintenance or archived log- see below.
There wasn't much of the hide material mentioned in the hint (not that that is the correct description of the vegetation anyway!) but checked under every blade- the hint is basically the same as the previous version anyway so I looked right along that area.
The caches here have had an unfortunate history and at one stage most of Lyall Bay was unavailable for caching owing to disabled and/or missing caches. I hope the owner will give due attention to this one in accordance with the caching guidelines in order to avoid the same situation recurring. In view of the pattern of caches in this area going missing, not being restored, being archived and then a new cache planted I am submitting a needs archived rather than needs maintenance log so that the reviewer can monitor progress or lack of it as the case may be.

i would bet money it isnt there anymore, there is only one side of the building that has tussock grass, and i dug and dug and dug under every tussock grass. there is no way there is any cache there :/
sand under fingernails. Avoiding muggle stares, under full view of anyone descending the staircase within the building, but we persisted.
Persistence did not reward us though.

#2611. We've struggled with some of the Lyall Bay caches in the past. We DNF'ed the predecessor of this one. We were on the verge of giving up today, but at the last minute I managed to spot something interesting (not quite where the hint suggested). Replaced in line with hint. Nice camo. TFTC.
Not quite what I was expecting, and a nice wee hide. Good spotting by StreetWalker as we were about to give up.

Lots of people about but enough of a break to grab this one quickly. Pleased not to have to dig for it.
Great camo and went to cafe for yummy lunch - great views. Thanks

#2306. Sunny and warm to explore the beach today. Went to GZ and easily found the hint object ... but no cache! Dug around a bit and still no joy. As we were about to give up, we found the cache ... away from GZ and out in the open. Replaced according to the hints. TNLNSL. TFTC.
We had a great post football lunch in the cafe and then had a go at the two local caches. There was lots of signs of digging and searching in the area of this one, and we added to it initially before we finally found this clever container- well done. We smoothed the sand ready for the next hunter. Thanks.
Found by my son under the first hint object spotted. Had an implement handy for easy removal. TFTC
Too many muggles for a search. Having now read the clue I'm glad I didn't - was permission given by the building owners for this one? So many other potential places and methods.
Quick find, though nowhere near the given co-ordinates. Replaced in the correct spot. Subsequent visitors may find a tool helpful to remove the logbook.
DNF. Very tricky. Could only see one possible place for it and had a good dig and look around but without any luck. WOuld be interesting to see if anyone finds it. Perhaps confirm it's still there?
Quick find with Little Blue Hen - having 3 year old grandchild with us provided cover. TFTCSL
Cool hide - was out in open so put it back where I guessed the clue referred to. TFTC Felix!
Braved the cold wind and sand walking down from my house. Arrived at cache location with a bit of waiting for muggles to depart the area. Quickly found slightly burried under some sand. Signed log and quickly placed back.

Braved the weather to stop by for the latest incarnation of this cache! Quick find, then dash back to the car.

Was in the area for work this morning and needed a cache, realising that there was a new cache here I decided that this would be a good opportunity to do it as there was very few muggles at GZ on the wet cold and windy Wellington day. Managed to find the cache in the first spot that I looked without any issues, sign and returned it back to it hiding spot before heading back out on my way to my next appointment, was a bit surprise about how much sand had blown all over the road, thanks for bringing me here again, must try this lovely cafe one day as I have being told that it is definitely worth a visit, TFTC TNLNSL (3339)
This area is fast becoming the Bermuda Triangle of caching. Decided I’d grab this one today in case it suddenly disappears into the ether like the others. SL TFTC
Came here this afternoon on my way to an appointment in the area. Unfortunately I made the oldest mistake in the book - forgot to upload the coordinates to the GPSr. Tried looking in likely places using my memory of the cache description but had found nothing after about 5 minutes so resorted to the PAF option. Found it quickly once I had the coordinates, it turned out I had looked in the correct place right at the start but the strong winds had blown enough sand to bury the cache. An "interesting" experience today, somewhat akin to being in a sand blaster. Not the most amenable of environments to be searching in. Signed log, TFTC.
FTF @ 20:15 . Decided to brave the freezing Southerly and go and grab this one tonight. Tracked down the cache without too much trouble and replaced as safely as possible - hopefully it survives longer than is predecessor! TFTC.
2TF 8:30pm. Gazumped by Phoenix NZ yet again. Not a very pleasant evening here with a little bit of rain and a good sand blasting into the bargain. I had my hands on the cammo quickly but it took a little longer to extract the log. TFTC
