Logs
This morning, I needed to help with baby Warren's first birthday, but I was able to briefly escape for a run at Mitchelton 5 km parkrun. I managed to visit a few geocaches in the area prior to the [International Coffee Day Coffee](https://coord.info/GC9ZXAB) event, and then needed to grab a few errands in preparation for the party ahead.
With some time available prior to the geocaching event, I had noticed that this archived cache was nearby, so I figured I may take the chance and have a look, despite the fact that it had been archived and not found for more than seven years. I was about to take a look where the posted coordinates wanted me, but a recurring theme in some of the past logs suggested that the coordinates were incorrect, and the "alternative" coordinates were much better. I soon found the recommended coordinates, S 27° 24.257' E 152° 58.133', and those took me to a likelier hiding area. I searched around where I thought the hint wanted me, but alas, no evidence of a cache spotted, and as there weren't any past photos posted, it was difficult to really focus on this search. I feel like this archived cache has been disposed of quite some time ago. Thanks anyway Amethyst_Cat for the cache placement.

Decided it's time to close this one down - I've never been super good at keeping up the maintenance on these things and find myself preferring to find caches more than create and maintain them. Feel free to set a new one up in the vicinity!
Found using the log from March 2013 for coordinates and ignoring the hint. I squeezed into some small gap on the over-full log. TFTC.
Found on a cool Brissie afternoon.
Read about the corrected co ords but spent too long working at the wrong altitude (ignore the hint).
Cache found, photo taken of cache as proof because 2 min warning for my train home went off!

Coords are way out, suggest CO change them as has been suggested. My GPS only shows the last 5 logs so had to get my phone out to read previous logs. TFTC
Out with Muggleson. He said that he thought he knew where this cache would be from the description. We parked on one side of the station and started walking in the direction he indicated. Then my phone was telling me that the cache was on the platform. He was insisting that it was elsewhere. I said, no, the phone says this way. We wasted a lot of time looking on the platforms, as the phone said this was where GZ was. Finally, I gave in and read some previous logs. Once I had the correct co-ordinates, it turned out that Muggleson had the right general area in mind. Once there, the cache was quickly located. It needs a new log. If the cache is currently in the correct place, I suggest that the CO update the co-ordinates.
!!!!!tftc!!!!! Read below logs yet coordinates are off not on platform! Found thou
Had a good lock for this one but was unable to locate it. may have another go at this one later.
This one has me stumped. Went the other day but there were Muggles everywhere. Then it was found by someone else a couple of days ago, so pack the family into the car tonight to go looking in peace and not 1 of the 5 of us could find it!! Maybe a daylight visit on the weekend is in order!!
It would seem that night caching on this side of town can be something of an eventful adventure, Between the last cache find, there was the RBT which I passed with flying colours. There was the large amounts of water gushing down Samford Rd and Dawson Pde, and of course the random handbag sitting near another GZ in a cemetery (spooky)
Anyway we arrived nearby to here and parked the car and myself and Sezzz wandered through to the platform to take a little look around.
Thinking about it a little some information was soon found that made the hunt a lot easier and we relocated to the better place. Checking a couple of spots and Sezzz soon put her hand on the cache. We retrieved the log and added our names, before getting the cache back in place and heading back to the other side for the car.
Last find for the night and it was time to head home for bed.

While heading here with OrionJ, we passed a unusual amount of water pouring down a wall and onto the road as we were driving down Samford Rd and thought we might have a look, down Dawson Parade we turned and ran into more water! We did a bit off a loop and tried to find the source, but it seem up here near the entrance there isn't any water! Though there is a number we can call! We dialed it in, and headed off to the cache we were aiming for, but gave it a miss due to a suspicious bag near GZ, and this cache was the next closest! Only hearing about Amethyst_Cat at the event we went to earlier, we still didn't remember their warnings until we got to the marked GZ, that is when we remembered and looked through the logs for the accurate GZ coordinates. Yep, its not on the platform! Off we headed, and before long I had my hands on it. TFTC!
Fortunately I'd read the logs with the correct coords and went straight to GZ. Unfortunately I'd also read the hint and spent ages searching in places it seemed to indicate. I actually gave up and started to leave as I had to pick up my daughter, then realised I'd be sitting waiting for quite a while and thought I might as well go back for another look.
This time I ignored the hint and had the cache in hand straight away, it was right in the first place I would've looked!

after standing on the platform confused I discovered the revised co-ords and found it#iliketrains
No spaces left on the log. Had to sign on any patch available (spot 22 was taken by someone else, so we squeezed in 'C H' with no date attached).
Good night time find. TFTC

Make sure you check for correct cords in logs, ie don't waste time on platform.

My old haunt. Used to take the train to school here. But no luck today even with the updated coordinates. Mum still lives up the road so I'll try again another day.
TFTC, had to FAF thanks ms Maddy! Found with Epoz as we were out to get me to 210 finds, was a bit embarrassed after making this find as we had checked there more than once! >.
This one was a little difficult and we had reached the platform. It wasnt until I remembered that there was some change in the co-ordinates - but my phone was back in the car. Back to the car, got the phone, input the new co-ords and we had a more likely area that was not so much in the line of the cameras. These co-ords were spot on and I just had a quick feel and found it. TFTC Amethyst Cat
Out this afternoon with Nurseyjulie who was chasing a milestone. We hopped in one car to drive to caches in this area.
A lot of messing about here and up and down stairs and in and out of the lift. Eventually we ended up on the other side of the platforms. NJ then put her hand on the cache. Whew!
It would be great if the CO could update the coords on this listing as we wasted a lot of time here. Also, the Hint is definitely not relevant to where we found the cache
On we rolled...

Out for day geocaching with seffnjarah. Had a great day finding all these wonderful caches. Thanks to all the cache owners for making our day great.
After inputting the corrected co-ordinates we managed to track this one down quite quickly once we changed our approach. Tftc
found after wasting time at the posted coords ... after reading the logs, we got the amended coords and it was a reasonably quick find thereafter ... we got bailed up mid-hunt by two burly security guards and their guide dog (was caching with Mrs Elmigo at ~8:30pm) wanting to know why we were loitering around an empty train station car park ... told them we were waiting for next train on platform 3

spent a little time looking higher than necessary. Still able to squeeze some space in the log but not too much room left
Luckily I read the logs for this one and found the alternate coordinates (which I've also added to this post) - they were spot on. The published coordinates were way off for some reason. Once we were at the correct spot, the cache was found very quickly.

Quick & easy find using these S 27° 24.257 E 152° 58.133 posted in past logs . There's enough room for ~2 more finders before logbook is full. Found with Matt_Eth . TFTH Amethyst_Cat .
Out caching tonight to grab some numbers to be on the mark for a milestone hike planned for the weekend.
Scratched my head at where GZ was, then read some logs. Thank you to Mr PPrime and others who posted up their corrected coordinates.
With those plugged in I walked straight to it this rainy evening and found myself a nano in the first place I tried. No need to step up anywhere.

Oh I was very frustrated and muttering under my breath by the time I finally gave up on this one.
The troops sat in the car in the air-conditioning, waiting for me to make the find (so we could finally go and get the main cache we had set out to find today). I spent way too long at this cache, determined to make it the tenth find out of the thirteen needed before we could go and get our milestone. Unfortunately, no amount of reading previous logs and checking alternative coordinates helped and I finally left, defeated.
It didn't help that the station itself is closed at the moment while work is being done on the line.
Thanks for the hunt Amethyst Cat.

Tricky!! Found by geoson at revised co-ordinates. Was almost ready to give up.

Relogging this under individual account, previously a member of Gaz'n'Kab account.
A quick find once we wasted a bit of time at GZ only to realise GZ was not indeed in the middle of the train station. The owner should use the "Update Coordinates" log type to update the coords to those highlighted by previous finders.

This was our second found cache today, out and about with Net88. After loitering at the station for awhile, we went back through the logs and found Pprimes better coords. Finally reaching the real GZ and the cache was found with minimal effort.

Thank Navstar for Peter. We looked around for ages and then read the logs... Peter has posted different coords off we go... looking up looking up... higher than you can reach???? Maybe if you are very short. I felt quite tall actually Thanks for the cache, the logbook has the whole back side still empty... no need to replace yet
An afternoon where every search seemed to be more difficult than it had to be! So few hiding places here and yet so long to find. Paused for train passengers wandering out, then back into it. As for others, I reckon I probably touched the cache more than once as I worked back and forth, until finally it came loose for me. Gosh. TFTC AC.
Hello everyone, apparently the log is full. I will replace this as soon as possible.
I wonder if any of the security personnel watching through those cameras have ever become curious enough to have a look at what all these people are doing around this particular spot? At least they didn't come whilst I was there. TFTC
found this today with pgriff, obviously the co-ords and hint are for the previous location, and with the new co-ords from Pprime it was straight forward
Thanks to P Prime for new coords. Even then GPS played up and wanted to take us clearly into view of the security cameras. Eventually it got to the right place and cache came to hand. Hint should be deleted as definitely no help.

Found with Ferrarista in the pouring rain using new coordinates. The hint hast no relevance. TFTC
Found thanks to the new co-ords by Pprime. I certainly would have been way off target with the originals.
Look in all the wrong places and by chance happened to put my hand on it. Log signed and returned to hidey spot. Lets see if I can get another of Amethyst Cats.

Unable to find this one - in company of a previous finder who advises this is not where it used to be.
DNF - Out and about in the area this afternoon to try to improve the number of Amethyst_Cat caches we have found. This wasn't a good start, even with the new coordinates. We will be back sometime in the future. Thanks for the hide.
Found by Sunshine Toledo and Jinga 2 at 11:37am. Found from the new co-ords. It took a few minutes to track down where it was as we looked in all the wrong places first. TFTC
Sorry, but this a bit confusing now, as the phone app doesn't allow for an accurate way of posting the new coordinates in (I had to copy and paste them from the GC website into a notepad, then use the very slow refreshing current location part of the app. to get a clearer idea of where the GC might be). Do the current descriptive comments match it's new location? I'll watch this log for a while before I come back to it. I was looking forward to this one, too

Went straight to corrected coordinates on a lonely Saturday evening with noone around, and spent a goodly amount of time finding the blighter. Checked that spot at least twice prior to finally finding it as I was about ready to give up. Tricky hide. Might have to look up the rest of the series now!
TFTC, all is good with it.

This must be about visit number 4 for this cache.
So here I am again Where haven't I searched [?] And using the new co-ords....mmmm
So I just ambled around ...more using my hands than my eyes...and BINGO Woo Hoo. Yippeee.
Found the little blighter.

Found with the assistance of previous finders' coordinates. Hiding place didn't match the clue but was a good spot. Had to wait for a train to go before we could replace the cache.
Thanks for the correct coords! I daresay we'd never have found it otherwise, and kudos to those who did . One muggle on the platform was watching, so we ended up having me on guard duty, saying, "Quick, he's looking away!" while DisSister grabbed the cache. Naturally, a train pulled in before we could replace it, so there was a bit of a wait, but then, with the coast clear, back it went. TFTC, Amethyst Cat. =^.^=
No luck I don't think I was on the same wave length today, I missed a few of these in the series. must read older logs before i go next time.
Went to the posted location. After not finding it for some time, I read the previous logs and went to the correct co-ordinates. Found it after a bit of looking, loitering and acting suspiciously. Wouldn't hurt to update the co-ordinates for this one.
A nice quiet spot on Sunday so this was an easy find for us.
We'd parked on the wrong side but even so we had found and log signed in no time.

Talk about bad timing. I located the cache just and a hoarde emptied out of the walkway. I had to kill some time before I could replace said cache.
Somewhere along the way to gz I'd lost my pen so had to resort to making a mark with charcol (thankfully someone still uses matches)
Found the cache dry and in good condition.
I like others found Totalube's coords to be pretty accurate.
Thanks Amethyst Cat

Yes !! I did look both ways [:o]
First I tried way number one but the GPS was still pointing to GZ about 12 metres away.
"Must be on the other way", I thought
A short ride later via the nearby railway underpass I was on the other way and looking
The GPS still showed me to be about 12 metres away.
Before wandering off to search the platform, I read the cache notes and finder's logs..... ah ha !! A clue ... and a different set of coords
A short ride later via the nearby railway underpass I was on the other way again and looking

I guess if you took the original posted coords, you could well find yourself looking both ways for this cache. Fortunately, Kaisho53 and I picked up Totalubes suggested coords and went straight to GZ for a quick find... [^]
There was some thought that the container was something different and in plain sight but after some inspection and realisation that the "item" doesn't come away, the hunt was extended a little and the real container spotted shortly after...
Cheers Amethyst Cat.

Found,
Gunnie69 had done some prestart research & determined that some revised co-ords from an earlier finder may be the better option - this allowed us to park adjacent GZ...
Took us a couple of minutes to locate but Gunnie69 soon had in hand (good having tall cache partners)

Find #572 at 17:38 after waiting for a muggle parked at GZ to pick up his girly (from the train after mine) and drive off. At least at this time of day a loiterer here does not look out of place.
The GPS was bouncing all over the place, every second it picked a new GZ. I've never seen bounce so bad. I didn't bother with the published coordinates and instead went straight for Totalube's. I looked both ways, then in the right direction. Must have looked suspicious either way, as I retrieved and signed and replaced the cache in between the trainloads of muggles. TFTC Amethyst_Cat.

A quick find on the way back from cycling through Samford Forest Park. Uploaded a previous finder's coordinates prior to going out this morning and they were spot on.
No traffic on a Sat morning.

After a less than pleasant caching day yesterday, I decided to try my luck with a few newly published ones. I assumed where GZ was and soon found my mistake whilst turning on my GPSr on the platform. Well that's some good news.
I used Totalube's posted co-ords and after a break in the traffic, I spotted and collected the prize. Surprisingly at 5pm - this was not too difficult to do. I returned it with another break and moved along. Congratulations to Mloe on getting the FTF TFTC Amethyst Cat

With moments of sitting down at my desk, *waarp*... oooh, a cache!! And it's close! I barely read description before grabbing my bag and heading out. I figured I could get on the scene and figure out the details there. It was all quiet at the station when I arrived so I took a few moment to program in the co-ords and get started. It took me a while to sus out the cache with the needle wandering about a bit (it had be looking on the platform at one stage, nup, not there), but in the end I spotted what didn't belong. I took the log book back to the car to sign and just as I was fiddling with the scroll totalube rocked up. Haha! Actually, it's a good thing; it wasn't all that cold but my fingers had still got stiff enough to make putting the cache back a bit fiddling so I was glad of the help. Thanks for the cache Amethyst_Cat, I much appreciate any excuse to get me out into the night.

Another late night cache publication. The last time a cache got published on Monday night I missed FTF because I was enthralled by Q&A!
Tonight again I was enjoying the intellectual banter on Q&A and was enjoying seeing Peter Cundall back on TV .
A cache this close to home was at risk, so I set off thinking I should be home for the end. I parked my car and wandered onto the platform, looking for a hidey hole. Looking over to the other side I spotted Mloe's car and Mloe. Guess Q&A made me miss another FTF . Well Done Mloe .
I walked over to see where the cache was and soon signed the log and put it back. For both of us the coordinates were about 10m out. I have listed the coordinates where I found the cache.
Thanks for the cache and the series
