#15,566. Took a walk in Richmond. The GZ was all quiet at the time of our visit. We did not know what to expect, but found after a short search and widening the area a little. Great fun hide. The cache was in good condition, all nice and dry inside. Took nothing, left nothing, signed log.Favorite point added for the hide.*Thanks for the geocache placement, and for bringing us to this site, and **.T h a n k s. .f o r. .t h e. .c a c h e.**.M a u r u u r u. .k o e. .n u i. .a t u. .h o k i. .t e. .k e t e r o k i.*---### LET US HAVE A BLOCK PARTY!!! ###On **May 3rd, 2025**, we will be celebrating 25 years of geocaching in **Rotorua, New Zealand** with a special **Block Party** event. Ground ! Boobies come in twos. Poor cache holder and cache were flooded, and ziplock and log papers sodden. We did some drying and maintenance ... hopefully all good for a while. Wise choice using waterproof paper !TFTCoolCache

I wanted to get some extra points for this month's challenge so RNZ mentioned this cool cache close to the dinner venue for the event tonight.

I've seen other caches designed by this cache owner & this one did not disappoint.

RNZ's boobie skills were on point & he made short work of manipulating the moisty mounds to extract the goods

We did have to avoid the locals to grab this cache

Out for a nice cycle ride today along the coast.
Not sure why this has received so many FP's, maybe it was different before? Anyway, happy to add another quick smiley to our map, tftc!

Myself, along with NZ_B, YetiNZ and Mr-mcgoo are on a caching expedition to Nelson. This is something we planned a while back and have very much been looking forward to Smile
During our time here, all found caches were signed as NMTY (regardless of whether 2, 3 or all 4 of us hadn't found it previously), or with individual names for Challenge Caches according to whomever was claiming the find.

The 3 boys having now met up with NZ_B (who had made her own way over a couple of days earlier) then headed over to check out the venue for the event we were attending this evening. Yup, this would be a great place to grab some lunch, but it was just a little early so we decided to grab some nearby caches first, like this one.

NZ_B had found this on a previous visit, so hung back and watch us 3 boys make a bit of a meal getting to GZ. But once there, I spotted the cache quickly and had a good laugh. I don't know if the mechanism works the same as it did when originally set up, but it worked well enough today.

However the log was completely soaked, so struggled a bit to write NMTY on the very last available space on the log before replacing exactly as found.

Thank you for setting this one up. FP given for the hide Smile

Some time ago a group of us from Wellington decided that what we should do is come down to the Nelson region for a long weekend of Geocaching. So we did. With minimal specific agendas, and lots of unfound caches in the area, the goal for this four day break is exploring, having fun, and finding geocaches. Here is one we found.

Once we figured out the longest path possible to get ourselves to the cache location, we had to laugh at the very clever field puzzle component of this cache hide.

The log was signed as NuMpTY (or NMTY) for NZ_B, Mr-Mcgoo, TwigNZ, & YetiNZ

Thanks to Kiwi-Nomad for placing and maintaining this cache. I enjoy each and every cache I find, and it is only with CO's like this placing them out in the world that this wonderful game continues.

[DGSc-Bulk] tagging to help me generate a list for GC30AD8 - DGSc Challenge.

The log was signed as NuMpTY (or NMTY) for NZ_B, Mr-mcgoo, TwigNZ, & YetiNZ. Thanks for bringing me here.

Someone told me about this cache a few years ago. I'm surprised it has taken me this long to find it. Classic Kiwi-Nomad, as usual well worth a FP.

Over the hill today to pick up some highly favourited hides. And, despite the recent couple of days of heavy rain, it was a pleasant drive over and not a drop of rain as I geo-cycle-m-version 2-ed the 24km loop. This was the ninth. Another very clever one. No help from the left needed this time.

Visiting friends in Stoke and enjoyed some local caching. Enjoyed the work put into this cache. Haven’t seen anything quite like it. Happy to add another favourite point. Extracted the log and realised we had no pen. Instead marked with mud X RP see photo. Thanks for the smiley.

"Holy Double E"! Shouted Mr nzhunter.
"Don't you mean Double G!?!" Replied Mrs. nzhunter.
Either way Kiwi-Nomad - you've produced a great rack!
Excellent cache and yip - the way it's designed - with a bit of water ingress from rain, it'll squirt you in the face! So good! Whether or not this was an intentional side effect (if it was, you're a bloody genius!) it perfectly squirted our oldest in the face! Being the model parents we are, we naturally sent Critter 2 into ground zero first...and were glad we did! Top effort KW and a favorite from us!

Awesome hide. Sprayed my face with water getting it out

Hunting for buried treasure got little helper interested in finding this one. After a few false starts and redirecting the short one we found it and to great delight mum got splashed. TFTC

21-Nov-21
Found during my Sunday jog along the estuary. Not sure why I've never stopped for this on my earlier visits! Found the amusing cache without much problem. Not sure which container I was supposed to open but the southern one was easier to retrieve. There was a lot of water in the container but I didn't have any problem signing the waterproof paper. Thanks kiwi-nomad for keeping the quality of Nelson caches high!

24-Aug-21
Found it. Nice little surprise.

15-Jul-21
Very cool idea! I found this 4 years ago but couldn't opening to sign my name, the previous finder (my husband in another group) had screwed it on so tightly. Great to finally open it. Full of water but the wonders of waterproof paper!

Having a weekend away in Nelson after a long lockdown Day two and a bit of a cold start but we soon warmed up. Thanks to the COs - We can’t wait to come back Last one of the day and for this trip to Nelson. The hardest part was to find how to get over here but we finally arrived at GZ A few touches and then of course Richard knew what to do. It was a big hard getting in once in hand as quite wet. But all good in the end TFTC

Cache 2 for the day on a nice afternoon. Thanks for the cache.

Found while caching with ABL973. Thanks Kiwi-Nomad

20-Feb-20
For a few years now I've been looking at the map and seeing this high favourited cache and wondering what it's all about. On my list of caches to get today, this one was at the top. Without reading the logs or checking out photos I made my way to GZ finding a well made bird house which I discovered wasn't the cache. A few metres later I arrive at GZ and what wondrous delights do I see before me?! I imagine the kiwi-nomad cache making workshop must have had a few beers on the bench when this pair was being created. Going down on my hands and knees I got busy. I wasn't expecting lactation to be an option but I did get a good squirting in the eye ... thats a favourite! Thanks kiwi-nomad.

14-Feb-20
Nice!

Perseverance was the name of the game when undoing the top. Lovely to sit underneath the trees with a gentle breeze on such a hot day.

The fourth day of our road road trip and we are having lots of laughs, hunting hard and signing logs. Signed NE as I am caching with Nosynel. TFTC and apologies for the generic log.

***[======== NZ Mega 2020 ========](http://nzmega.com)***

Planning for the [NZ Mega 2020](http://nzmega.com) event is well underway. It will be held in Auckland over Labour Weekend, 23 to 26 October 2020. It's going to be a massive celebration of geocaching:

* 20 years of geocaching worldwide.
* 20 years since New Zealand had the very first geocache hidden outside of USA.
* And it's 2020 - all the 20s!

Talk to your geo-friends and start planning to be part of [this event](http://nzmega.com) - you won't want to miss it!

I have been wanting to do this cache for years. it certainly was worth making the effort. Ethness worked out how to open the container.
This morning we went out to Haulashore Island and I completed my DT grid. We stayed the night in Nelson. Look out my friend Ethness is in town and we are DoubleTrouble. We are drove from Greymouth to Nelson yesterday. Thanks Kiwi-Nomad for placing this geocache.

I enjoyed finding this one a couple of months ago but didn't had a pen that day. So I came back today for more fun. Best was when putting it back and it splashed on me.. that's the extra bit you get after some rain. Log is a bit wet but thanks to waterproof paper still all legible.
Fun Geocache! Thank you for the effort put into this one!!

14-Apr-19
A long time I've been meaning to get to this one. Carnival bonus and a fine day got my feet moving. Took longer than it should've to find as it was completely concealed. Then a bit of squeezing around had the log in hand. Another clever one, thanks very much!

08-Apr-19
I had to leave this one for the capable hands of Mr Pazza. After much poking, prodding and groping, he finally made a choice as to which one was the one he wanted. Again, this cache took things to another level of the likes I'd never seen! Thanks Kiwi-Nomad!!!

26-Mar-19
We were on a bike ride this morning, with the specific goal of finding a few caches. We had heard caches put out by kiwi-nomad were the ones to go for!!! Wanting to find a few caches near 'home', we decided to follow this biking trail as far as we could before we had to head back. What a clever name on this cache. It was a quick find at GZ, and had us chuckling once we saw it!!! A fun cache. It's a good thing the CO is using waterproof paper, as there was water in the cache. We tried to dry it out as best we could, but fortunately we were still able to sign! Thanks for another fun smiley!

09-Mar-19
For our NZ visit we created a "wishful-thinking-to-do-list" ... knowing we can not do them all but we can at least try. Old caches, earth, virtual and webcam are on the top of our list... but also some traditionals, multi etc...

Today on our way to Murchison ... and raining .. so decided to stop for caches along the road instead of a longer walk...
Nicely made and we understood the mechanism..

Oh, what’s this? If I just ... urrrrrh ... booby trap ... oh. Nice cache? - Well fun at least.
The logbook is VERY wet so not sure if the ink will survive on my log.

30-Aug-18
Wasnt sure what to expect but what a great cache. Found but struggled to understand getting cache originally, then how to get log out. Unfortunately some water was in the container but paper all good. A Fav. TFTC
