This was our last find before arriving at our friends in Melville for the night. I left home at 7am, arrived at 7pm at our friends but found our last cache at about 9pm. A long but fun first day of our 10 day trip to Mega. We were lucky that our friend wanted a walk this evening so he took us to the Hamilton gardens where we got a few more caches for the day. The traffic was quite busy around gz. We parked in the nearby side street and got across on the crossing after a car nicely stopped for us. A quick find and we were on our way again. Thanks for the cache
On a long trip down to the mega with Lis's crew. So for me it good for numbers and favorites caches. With several stops and a lot of caches and several souvenirs up for grabs the trip was the perfect opportunity to get my numbers up and get some challenges that I have qualified for. For today we managed 25 which is good. Thanks to all the CO's for placing and maintaining the caches.
Fairly busy along here this evening, but no problems finding in the dark today, TFTC
Headed down to complete the Eyes Have It series with Merlot58 and Jag50. This was our first cache for the day. Initially though this might have been in a different location from looking at the map, but soon realised where the cache was. No too busy at this hour of the morning.
Heading south for the day with Merlot58 and Aiden29 to complete the eyes puzzle series. This was a quick park and grab on our way - not too much traffic here on a Saturday morning.
I was down in the area to tackle the Eyes series. We parked up nearby and dashed across the road which wasn't too busy thank goodness. No trouble with the find
Found easy safe park on Watts Grove....
Crossed when road clear.
Prob easier on a Sun morn!
Thanks !

Been meaning to detour n get theses two today. Lots of activity at the bowling club but not showing much interest in us. Nice quick find.
I managed to wrangle myself a few hours to myself and after being cooped up all week with school holidays, sick kid and all that life wanted to throw at me, I knew I needed to get out and find some caches. Despite the average weather I rugged up with a jacket, a thermos of hot coffee and had the car heater blasting. It meant I was as fast as I could possibly be while finding the caches so I could get back in the car asap!
Slowly working my way through these progress caches... not my fav sort to be honest but needs must and all that. I sucked it up and tried to time the traffic right while I found and replaced the cache.

I've been meaning to do this end of the series for awhile now. This one was a good way to start - nice quiet street to park on, and a quick grab. TFTC
Quick grab on a busy road. Glad the weather is holding for us. Day one of a 4 day road trip from Hawkes Bay to Auckland and back to collect as many caches as we can. Log signed as b&p.Tftc
Very busy but I think the muggles are in to much of a hurry to get home to notice tftc
Doing a 50 day streak with the South East Auckland Crew this is day 47 grabbed it late tonight still a busy roundabout at 2345 tonight. Quick easy hopefully I'll be able to grab the rest of series one day. Tftc
Road was very busy, as always here, but no-one hangs around for long. Made the quick find, and back on our way - last one for today.
In town for the 18th @ 18 Christmas event,. Thankfully the rain had stopped and there was a bit of time aftewards to find a couple of caches before I turned into a pumpkin.
I've got to up date the maps in my car GPS, as it around here, whenI'm heading to Hamilton,it starts getting upset that I'm not following instructions. TFTC

Not too much traffic at 8pm. But patience still needed waiting for a clear in traffic
I really don't know how you do this one without all the expressway traffic seeing you...
Out and about today enjoying a drive into the Waikato, collecting caches from here and sometimes even there. Parked up near to GZ--safely--and crossed the road. Spotted the hide nearly immediately. Cheers for the cache placement!
A pleasure to have found this first hide by Cats and Dragons a part of caching history. Lots of traffic today. TFTC
I decided to do some caching in Hamilton today, so I thought I do a few more of the Waikato Progress caches with the hopes of completing them sooner or later. I parked across the road, but was able to get to and from the cache safely.
It looks like your Waikato Progress caches have made the road works come to fruition. Maybe you could make a series of Rangiriri Progress caches to see if that would help them finish up there.
Anyways, TFTC.

Tried this one before and spotted cache, but Bowling Club was in full swing and a thousand eyes were watching. Today, I discovered that the elderly DO NOT play bowls at 5.30 in the morn.
Finally managed to attempt this one! Lots of traffic but got there in the end, TFTC!
One of several we located whilst en route from Auckland to New Plymouth today. Great summer's day. Straightforward find. #704. TFTC.
Driving back home to Auckland and stopping to grab a few caches. My work hiviz coming in handy for this one. I found the log but there was no container. Log is surprisingly dry!! TFTC
A big day of caching today... We have plans to clear out a few caches around Huntly, attend our event in Ngaruawahia... and most importantly, have A Night of Terror in the Hakarimatas. Gap (of Fap and Gap) and I have started early...
The vehicles kept coming... This was far busier than I was expecting. I had some difficulty trying to locate this one. The caches in this series are housed in the same type of container... so I was looking for one. In the end, Gap came to my rescue and found the log... TFTC.

Great to have a few Progess reports . All good and managed to sign the log tonight thanks.
Found a log, just not sure it's the correct one.
TFTC and the series! A quick grab in between cars

For these caches that are so close to such a busy road where the traffic never ceases, you just have to bowl up to the cache quite brazenly and seize the damn thing! Rrrrrrrh. I dd this at night, don't try to hide, make it obvious you are there, just pretend you are an inspector, checking out the crash barriers for safety issues, seeing if they are up to scratch, you can look more important if you have pen and paper in hand (signing the LB - but no one will know otherwise)
Having completed a successful morning of caching and a nice relaxing lunch, it was time to make our way back to Auckland.
This cache was collected as part of the road trip home.
A quick drive by cache - once you find somewhere to park!

Another quick find with the gang before hitting the road back to Auckland. A quick park and grab. TFTC
After completing my work in South Auckland today I had to head to Hamilton for more work stuff. Decided to find a few caches along the way. Nice one! Your first cache was my last for the day. Found a safe spot to park nearby and walked over to GZ for a fairly quick find there. TFTC, Biggles.
To do 50 caches in one day which are at least 1 km apart does take quite a bit of planning. This was another in my series of caches.
Cheers for the cache.
Cheers for the cache.
On the road to the MEGA; to Auckland via Martinborough and Napier. I must be mad!
Aha, the oldest Progress cache. It looks like I have about six to go. That may require a bit of searching and planning.

After a run of DNFs in Huntly we thought we might not make our day's target of twenty (1000 by year's end), but luckily Waikato's progress was waiting to help us out. We won't tell you about the dodgy u-turn to get to a suitable parking spot, but it was worth it. The log is pretty full and really needs replacing as it is brittle and is ripping and losing bits each time it is pulled out of the tin.
Visiting friends out here so at last I have done number one. Have done lots of the others and will return for number 2 one day. TFTC
Grabbed this on the way home after completing the new art trail nearby. Overshot the turn which led to a good place to park so got there after rounding the roundabout back in the direction I came and then a u-turn once the traffic island stop dividing each direction from each other. A nice easy find. Thanks!
Another one we found using the iPhone but had to go around the roundabouts twice to get to a parking place.
A quick skip across the road and Mr S had cache in hand.
All a bit different now, used to be just a little side road with a rest stop on the main road where we once took some cuttings from a huge rosemary bush. Now all gone.

Left the wife and kids in the car while I ran across the road and grabbed this one. I was intrigued to find this was your first hide. I guess it laid the foundation for all those fantastic caches that have kept my family entertained for the past four months, for which we are very grateful.
A nice walk with good friends less up to this cache. A good way to end a pleasant afternoon.
4.20pm. Been on the to do list for ages, so made the effort to park and walk today. Quick pick up.
Thank you. David.
Thank you. David.
Drove past this one a couple of times.
Last time the local bowling club was around.
No problems this morning.

No problems finding the cache. Managed to destroy the lanyard on my GPS when it got caught on something though. SL TFTC
Stopped in to grab this one on our way back from Huntly, parked down a side street on the left, crossed the road which wasnt too busy. [8]
Parked in the right place but the road was fairly quiet.Done & dusted with no hassles.TFTC.
We have found these in reverse order so this is the last in the series for us, but no doubt there will be more to come.
Not obvious to me but with really heavy traffic today, I didn't hang around to look for long.
Last time I tried this I had the pre-progress maps in my GPS, which thus got confused. Now, with nice new maps, cache was a safe find. TFTC!
Parked by the bowling club then didn't have to cross any busy roads. Fairly easy find. Thanks.
We needed to progress our night cache tally, and this series fitted the bill nicely. Parked on a nearby road and walked to GZ. Nice quick find thanks.
