We are on another short (four day) caching holiday in Western Sydney and the Blue Mountains, staying for three nights in a park cabin at the Ingenia Nepean River BIG4 Holiday Park at Emu Plains. Hoping to collect the latest GFA Puzzle, Wherigo, and Letterbox caches that have appeared around Luddenham & Wallacia since our last visit to the area, and will have a go at the new GFA Adventure Lab. Will also be returning to the lower Blue Mountains to visit some previously unexplored caching locations, revisiting areas around Penrith & suburbs that have new or replaced caches, and maybe finish with a visit to the Londonderry area. Photos will be uploaded to some logs on our return to home base.

Today we headed up to Richmond, going via Llandilo and The Northern Road, then returning via Londonderry Road. This was the 24th of 28 finds for the day (day 3), and 52nd find of the holiday.

This one was next, as we drove along Londonderry Road, and it took a little longer to find than most of the others along the road so far. TNLNSL, and then replaced as found. TFTC GazMag.

TFTCM, should have been a quick n easy find if not for mother nature that made finding this cache a bit more challenging (covered by a lot of leaves) and this sweltering heat that doesn't help. Anyhow found it in good condition, did my duties and off to the next one.

What a lot of flat open land is through that wire mesh fence!

There's plenty of space to safely pull off The Northern Road and leave your geomobile near this GZ.

I made quick work of this hide finding the cache in just a few seconds. I have a similar hide and thought about my strategy for placing mine and used that idea to search and there it was!

SL and rehid the cache.

While down in western Sydney for CITO Event at Charles Kemp Reserve I thought that I would find several different Types of caches for the day. I saw that I had DNFed this way back December 2013, and decided to hunt for this one again.
My logbook is scant on details; but I didn't leave a CSM, but it was certainly nice to redeem a DNF. This was #3 of different Types of caches found today.
Thanks GazMag - and my sincere apologies for the LATE logging (23/2/23), but I'm starting to catch up on some of the missed logging while I have taken so much time up with Waymarking!

Oh my word, tough hide. The previous finder added a few extra stars on the difficulty rating by nearly buried treasure. I've now placed a bit of a geocachers X to mark the spot or obvious/suspect Camo, thanks Gazmag

Nice to have a quick find after a couple of DNFs. It took longer to extract the log, as it was pushed into the base. I left it in the lid end, so hopefully extraction will be easier for the next person. TFTC GazMag.

Out and about today with Happy Uke and our good friend and conspirator in caching AngelG27.

Thanks GazMag.

05-Nov-17
We had a VERY big day today. AngelG27 came up from Canberra and, with Finalf29 playing chauffeur, we all ventured onto Penrith to finally defeat the final horcrux... Lord Voldemort himself... from the horcrux series. We grabbed a few nearby caches before making our way to Goulburn to be part of the GIFF event there. The weather wasn't the best, but the wonderful company and fantastic caches, made it a long but rewarding day... I found fifteen.

This was my sixth for the day. Our GPS's were a little bouncy, so looked in both directions. OK this could have been a quicker find if only I had gone 50cm further along. Thank goodness for AngelG27's eagle eyes. Thanks

Cache 3129 on 5/11/17

After Happyuke managed to grab the information we needed to finish off the Horcrux puzzle series, we and Finalf headed to Penrith to grab the final and whatever other caches we fancied on the way. Now the prize has been claimed, we are heading slowly south to Goulburn for the GIFF event, caching on the way. Unless otherwise stated, caches were found in good order and as directed.

After a bit of chook scratching, found it in accordance with the hint.

Thanks GazMag for the cache!

08-Aug-17
Up in the area for a couple of weeks and after heading up to Richmond from Penrith to pick up some gloves for my son which he uses for his wheelchair it was time to hunt for a few caches on the way home. If all goes to plan I will rack up my 7,000th find this morning so a milestone you could say but then it is only a another number.
Doing as the hint suggested the container was spotted very easily as it was in full view so after signing it was replaced with some local camo just to keep it safe from muggle eyes.

#3795 (4 of 7 today)

After a lean start to the month, I thought a nice afternoon out Londonderry Road way would be a good idea. I could even try to avenge three DNFs - which I did, but unfortunately collected another.
All up, though I found seven out of eight.
I'll take that.
###END OF CUT AND PASTE SECTION###
After not finding *Air Force* I walked here. Like that previous cache I was wary about searching next to a military facility.
Here, though, I had an idea of what the hide would be, so concentrated on that.

Fortunately I was right and it was a quick find.
Completed signing duties and replaced. Then outta there - and back for another look for *Air Force*.

10/2/17. 1:36 PM. Cache #4743.
4th of 7 finds (&1 DNF) - Londonderry & Richmond.

Very hot in the middle of the day, but I was after a few finds, so thought that some park & grabs would keep me mostly in the comfort of the air-conditioned car. I decided to hit a line of caches on Londonderry Road, heading north.

This one was after "Air Force"; it didn't take long to cross the road and get to GZ, but I did need a couple more minutes than I'd have liked in this heat, to scratch around and finally spot it. Easy to see how it could be missed! Up to the "dishlickers" next. TFTC.

Found with Wes and the boys on the way to Richmond Markets today; apparently a convenient place for a wee stop. Lol

02-Apr-16
The geo-widow had a shopping date with a girlfriend in Penrith so I tagged along ... at least for the getting there bit, because then I went caching in an area I have only minimally touched in the past ... around Cranebrook, Londonderry and Castlereagh.

This one was a pretty straightforward find but I was glad, having guessed where the cache would likely be located, that I had picked up a natural tool on the way to GZ to help me in the hunt. Thanks for placing this cache GazMag, and for the smiley it gave me.

19-Mar-16
Out with JJCC for a late afternoon cache run in order to find our daily cache to keep our streak going.

After a full day picking grapes and processing we still needed a cache for our streak, so picked this illusive relatively close to home GazMag hide. We had both visited GZ separately on previous occasions but came away scratching our heads. Today, we parked the car safely on the side of the road, walked to GZ and the closest we could get on this visit was 5 metres, so picking up a natural tool found on the ground had a scratch. Initially looked and saw nothing, but a second look revealed an appropriately coloured container that almost blended into the surrounds in the failing light of the day. Searched and found all within five minutes of arrival. With the cache safely in hand, we both signed the log before replacing as found. The cache container and log are in excellent condition.

TNLN.
Seven TBs visited - Bob geoMinion, Dave geoMinion, Evil geoMinion, Jerry geoMinion, Larry geoMinion, Stuart geoMinion, Vanlith The Youngling.

Out with Team Merlin in order to find our daily cache to keep our streak going.

Today we choose the cache Looking through the Mesh to for fill our daily cache. With coordinates in hand we headed off and parked as close to the indicated coordinates.
We walked to GZ and started our search. Not finding any sign of the cache we widened our search area where we uncovered a well hidden cache container. With the cache in hand, we both signed the log before replacing as found. The cache log and cache container are in excellent condition.

After success at the CO's other hide down the road we decided to have a go at this one as well. This one took a little longer as we should have looked at the title some more before adjusting our search. Once the camo was removed we found the well concealed hide. We completed the signing duties and re hid. TFTC

Another dnf for 2day.

14-Dec-14
I have attempted to find this cache before in good light with no luck.
Today I led a group of 6 through Pilchers and The Grand Canyon. It was a long and exhausting day. After I had refuelled myself I still had to find a cache today. This one caught my attention.
Parked by GZ and went to grab my torch, (still at home!) and all my spare ones had flat batteries, except for my UV light. I was interesting searching for this little cache by UV, especially when the log page glowed too much for me to see what I had written.
Log full and damp.
Thanks for the cache.

Thanks for the hunt today, took some geonewbie for a hunt and they had lots of fun

Just finished all my uni exams, so it was time to celebrate with a caching trip out with steveb95.

I saw the difficulty rating on this cache and prepared myself for the worst as the two of us approached the mesh fence. Having seen no recent DNFs, I figured it must not have been too bad, and after about 5 or so minutes of fidgeting around I uncovered the cache. Gonna call this one more to luck than expertise. TFTC.

12-Nov-14
Found after refining the search area and having a careful look. TFTC.

09-Nov-14
8,993 + 1,010 = 10,003. Found during a work trip to the Penrith region.

Working at Penrith during the week I decided to do the Power trail near here today. After a 6 hour walk I had finished but still had some time up my sleeve. Wanting a few drive-bys I drove around picking a few at random. I grabbed this one nice and quick, signed, returned and then off to the car and back to the hotel for a well earned beer or two... 83 caches for the day !

Thanks again GazMag !

TNLN - TFTC !!

Cheers....
