Found it , Thanks for bringing us back to a park I do like walking around. After the word search was solved, I found that my phone doesn't do chirp or it's not working, luckily I was with a previous finder who help me find the first protection. All the projections were found near a reflector as promised, with the exception of one which was found a little buried near by. Gz found and log signed. Tftc
Today, Tiz13 and I embarked on our weekly caching expedition, ready to transform caches into smiles. With the radiant sun illuminating our path, it was impossible to resist the invitation to go caching. Our destination of choice was the Langwarrin flora and fauna reserve, a place brimming with captivating history. This is one of the caches found today. With the sun finally setting we embarked on some more walking to finally find this one, it felt like we had walked on every trail in here and read every history sign through out the course of a long day with lots of walking. Thanks DumberThanRocks for the cache.
After a long day of caching and walking around this reserve learning and marvelling at the history of this place with Rebel Acts, we again returned as the sun was setting to find this cache. I fairly much had no idea what I was doing but thankfully the Rebel did.
In response to reports that the cache may be missing (thanks Brengun1!) we replaced it and checked the whole trail. Projection tags were all present but sometimes buried by ant activity, etc. Most waypoints also received a new reflector. (Fairly prominent ones in a style that hadn't occurred to me last time I maintained a night-cache, so they're possibly as unmissable as they've ever been at this instant.) We haven't been in a position to re-test Chirp performance yet -- certainly let us know if there are issues there! - MC

I had ignored this cache for quite a few years as I'm not really into caches that are designed for night searching. Until I decided not to ignore it any longer, but given my stubbornness it would be daylight searching and likely require a number of visits. And good eyes.
With the puzzle solved and some new co-ords but no compatible GPS for what was required, the CO passed on the next location and I could finally begin in the field. Don't recall seeing a reflector at the next WP but found the plate okay. The only issue I have with engraved markings is sometimes I can't make them out entirely so I sent another message to the CO for confirmation. Next WP found okay and it was the first reflector I had seen. The next I had trouble with as I still find projections to be testing. My projection was clashing with another cache so I knew I was off and sought assistance from a previous finder. The next plate found and my projection must have been good as the next was found easily.
I tried a couple of times to find the final reflector and plate but never did. Another message to the CO for clarification and they were kind enough to provide the location along with the final projection. And then what do you know, another lockdown imposed on Melbourne and completing this is put on hold. A few weeks later and maybe my sixth visit, I figured I'd be able to head straight to GZ, provided I was the projected distance away from WP6. The area matched the hint but couldn't see a reflector. Didn't take long to spot the cache in plain sight, although missing some camouflage. Just when I thought I had found all the caches in this area, yet again I find that I haven't and wonder what others may be here.
Waiting for the muggle right near GZ to move on before I sign, that same muggle asks if I know of any gay cruising sites in the area. A little taken aback by the query, I said, sorry buddy I don't know. Maybe he thought that's what I was there for? On the walk back to the carpark, I passed a fellow who may have been there for such a purpose. Anyway,
thanks a lot to Annoying Tarbit for the assistance and the challenge. Who said night caches can't be done in the daytime? Just have to put your mind to it.

Well, what a relief it was to sign this log today. This cache was started/attempted a few weeks back but we didn’t quite make that final hurdle on the evening we’d chosen. Let me preface that with I hate night caching, there are a few reasons for that...I loathe not being able to see where I am putting my feet, I absolutely am arachnophobic, animal eyes shining in torchlight give me the heebies, let alone all those night noises that are unfamiliar! Even though I grew up in the country and wasn’t a scaredy cat then, (being in a paddock after the sun went down never worried me) it seems years of living in cities has made me scared of the dark and the nefarious people that lurk in the shadows after hours all up to no good! Knowing this, why....why would I choose to do a night cache?? Well, some how OSHFAM can get me to say “yes” to doing things that take me well and truly out of my comfort zone...I say yes partly because I know that it takes her out of her comfort zone as well...so 2 idiots out in the dark trying to jump into each other’s arms at the slightest hint of danger results in a lot of squealing and laughing...but the night we decided to do this the giggles turned to misery as it started raining and we were having trouble keeping devices dry and trying to see what we were doing so we decided to pull the pin....fast forward to today where we checked a waypoint we’d had difficulty with on our previous visit...and eventually we managed to pick up where we’d left off and can you believe as we walked towards our last marked point from our previous visit it started raining! What is going on universe! We also realised today just how close we got to the final hurdle when we were here last time! As I said it was relief all round to sign that log!
I never knew that I would be friends with someone as scared of the night and those eight legged creatures as me. Some time ago I bravely went out on a night adventure with one half of EB Chief. What we really needed was the other half of EB Chief or my other non fearing friends Judith and Rod. Unfortunately they were not able to join us that night. A wander around screaming and laughing afterwards ensued. Unfortunately a downpour of rain put a stop to our adventure before we could get to GZ.
Today the same half of EB Chief and I went on a daytime adventure to collect a few caches in the area. We couldn't believe the weather appeared menacing again with bursts of rain but then came sunshine. The cache was found in good condition.
Thank you for the night adventure and cache here Annoying Tarbit

Checked today after a recent log. Container needs to be replaced so I'm disabling this one for now until I can get around to that.
Had time to start this one last night and returned today to complete the find
Out of practice projecting waypoints (a quick youtube tuition/revision fixed that problem) and we were on our way. Eventually had P1 and P2 solved before calling it a night
Returned in the daylight today to complete the remaining waypoints which went without a hitch (albeit bereft of the experience of 'sights and sounds of the night')
Enjoyed the hunt but unfortunately was let down with the find!
Waypoint reflectors (other than the final) and tags are intact and in excellent condition
The cache unfortunately has been ravaged. The final reflector has been dislodged (doubtful I would have found it in the dark) and the cache container broken beyond repair
A few contents were found inside or nearby the broken container but obviously have been exposed to the elements
Signed a scrap piece of paper, took some photos which will be passed on to the CO
All in all a great cache, will return another night to fulfill the experience and intent of the cache
Many thanx to Annoying Tarbit. A fav point added

"The spice must flow..."
It had been some time since I'd found myself beyond the Shield Wall in the baking heat of day. But Melange was in short supply and a stockpile was rumoured to have been left in the vicinity of GZ.
The custom for this particular desert journey is to undertake it at night, and so avoid many of the extreme risks that Arrakis presents. But my time out here was limited. It had to be now, despite the daylight dangers.
I decoded the initial transmission into a flight plan, and then my ornithopter chirped it's way to a remote outcrop away from the well trodden sands. It was here where I had to don the stillsuit and clamber irregularly across the desert sea so as to not attract the attention of giant ants which were nearly the size of Shai Hulud.
I journeyed on, all the while troubled by strange visions of prairie dogs chasing me over the dunes. Maybe it was a Bene Gesserit mind trick... Maybe it was an effect of the trace levels of spice in the sands all around me...
A bleep from my comms unit instantly brought my focus back. It was Chani with news from the other side of the planet. No ocean of sand is ever vast enough to separate us. But the signal soon became unstable - probably Harkonnens jamming it.
I continued on through the sands to GZ. But all the while, my visions grew stronger. The dogs were seemingly drawing closer. I felt increasingly compelled to seek relief from the madness. There was now a crazed urgency in my search of GZ, but no stockpiled melange was to be found...
An array of thumpers suggested the location was right.
Had the Harkonnens beaten me to it??
I couldn't be sure while so distracted by visions. I had no choice but to leave the mystery unsolved and trek back to the ornithopter until clarity returned.
And yet as fate would have it, or perhaps as a result of a Navigator 'folding' space, I unexpectedly found myself near GZ later that day to watch my eldest Mini graduate from his Mentat studies.
With the celebration concluded, and the unsettling visions having subsided, I returned once more to search for the melange.
The hot sun was now setting and Muad'Dib (the mouse shadow) rode high on the ascendant half moon.
This time I took optical sensing equipment. My scans still struggled to find anything. But then in fading twilight I uncovered a telltale Rigger's mark. It still took me longer than it should have to locate the stash. It was found in the very first place I'd checked earlier in the day, but the combination of camo and my frenzied haste had effectively shielded the stash from my inquiry. I was then reminded of what my old mentor, Gurney Halleck, had taught me many moons ago, that it is "the slow blade that penetrates the shield".
So with the prized melange in hand, I headed back through the dark of night to the ornithopter to update Chani of my success... and inform her of a source of something the Fremen value even more highly than spice!!
Thanks to all the COs involved in placing and maintaining this engaging cache. It's a very worthwhile hunt and I had a great time trekking around 'Arrakis'.

I haven't been much of a fan of night caches, because I seem to always have problems. Perhaps I'm just no good at them.
However I do love a mystery cache and do enjoy caching early in the pre-dawn, so I had to try this one.
Puzzle was slowly sorted and then I was unable to find any response from the beacon. The CO was kind enough to pass on the coordinates for the next step. I think this problem has now been fixed. Then over 2 different mornings I was able to finally following the glowing lights to the cache. I personally found the first reflector a little bit out, but the rest were spot on, or close enough to see.
The final cache confused me a little because I was expecting to see more reflectors but after starting a search the cache was quickly found.
Overall, took me 4 separate visits to complete, but really enjoyed it. Deserving of a favorite point, and big thanks to Annoying Tarbit for keeping this one going

Found this one on a cold and windy night. This one went pretty well.
One of the others didn't, requiring a track back the next day.
This cache hadn't been found for a while and had settled into the sand, and was a bit reluctant to come away from the hole it nestled in.
It was in good condition inside however, although a bit muddy externally.
Fav point for the adventure, and sights and sounds of the night, although the wind dominated.

Ah, I had tried to do this another night before but with my Chirp reading device being on the fritz and some people in the car park whom seemed to be having a intimate moment, which made me think that i should leave. So tonight with my good friend to help me for the night we made off and continued to do way point after way point. Seeing many spiders and bull ants we eventually arrived at gz and after some looking the final was found and signed, trackable was grabbed and will move it on soon. Anyways thanks for the fun and clever night cache.
Having attempted to download a"Chirp" app which then failed miserably, a quick message was then sent to the CO for a hint on the first plate. CO was good enough to shoot the required assistance through, and off we went on our night adventure. It was good that our projections were quite accurate, and the reflectors were so clear in the dark (if that makes sense). A special thank you to Rigger64 for the effort of developing this cache and big thanks to Annoying Tarbit for the hint and the care of this cache.

On realising that I was passing this cache I dropped a trackable [Generation Nature] that I should have relinquished ages ago. Nice to see that the title has been de-apostrophed.
After an impromptu message to Loujean1970 this afternoon, a second attempt at this Cache was organised for tonight. After correcting a change of settings on my GPS unit from magnetic north to true north we set off again to try our luck. As we set off down the track to the first WP, I realised we were passing another Cache and to everyone's surprise, suddenly veered off into the darkened bush. After signing that log we continued on our way. The change of settings soon had us heading straight to where we had previously stumbled upon the second WP. Projections and distances work out pretty well this time and soon had us finding WP three (which we had walked straight past on our last attempt). And on we went, torches flashing, kids arguing over who was walking up front and reading the next plaque, a few sightings of wildlife, a quick stop to find another Cache, talking and learning about the history of the park, and soon we were at GZ signing the log. Thanks to our friends Loujean1970 for joining us again for another fun filled night. Also thanks to the CO for his assistance with this Cache, as we did not have a chirp enabled device to find the first projection.

When the FossiKENS called us this afternoon and asked if we wanted to join them to do our second night cache, we were super excited. We had started this one a few weeks ago but not finished it. Another great winter night adventure filled with laughter, teamwork, possums, bickering, city lights, stars, torchlight, chatter, learning about history, and we cannot wait to do more! Thank you Fossikens, and a huge thank you to the CO for his very friendly assistance and support to help us find our second night cache
A pre dawn rise to make the most of this experience. A nice twist on a regular night caches. A few sounds but did not see the animals responsible. Glad we had a bright light at GZ to avoid making a wrong step. We completed the signing duties and re hid. TFTC. A favourite from us. Now to pick up a few others around here and then find breakfast.

This was one of the last night caches on my to-do list.
I mentioned to the CO that I didn't have a chirp device, and he kindly offered to let me use his and he'd even accompany me.
So a pleasant evening of walking, chatting, picking up waypoint clues, projecting the next, ensued.
A flawless night cache, and a memorable evening, thanks to the stranger who appeared out of nowhere.
Thanks heaps n0w0rries for accompanying me tonight!
A fav point heading your way (as soon as I can bank some).

Another big night of walking talking and finding caches. Full log to follow. But for now TFTC
When I recently asked the CO for a hint about the Chirp workaround mentioned in the description here, I certainly didn't anticipate that n0w0rries would go so far as to instead offer the use of his own Chirp-enabled device while he was out doing maintenance! Having previously estimated the probability of me completing this cache at approximately 0.00%, I hesitated for mere milliseconds before taking him up on this wildly generous offer. So, in a pitch black carpark, I finally met n0w0rries, a figure who has, for the whole time I've been caching, loomed large in log entries and as the CO of a whole bunch of memorable caches. I also got to meet Ruverbug Jam, whose name I've also been seeing a heck of a lot very recently. Lucky for me, these two make for possibly the most hilarious double-act in the recent history of hilarious double-acts, so I found myself laughing like an utter nutjob for a massive proportion of the evening. I'm grateful they let this complete stranger (a homicidal maniac, for all they knew) accompany them deep, deeeep into a forest.
As for the cache itself, I really like this sort of no-nonsense navigation stuff. There's something inexplicably cool about projections, and this terrain, though very familiar to me by day, has a certain additional allure in the dark. I finally got to see Chirp in action, which was quite interesting, and we moved through the waypoints with few problems. Credit goes to Ruverbug Jam for ultimately sighting the cache while I was overshooting the mark in some sort of daze. This shall certainly be a memorable one methinks. Thanks for the cache n0w0rries (and Rigger64)!

We took the opportunity to make a start on this one, after buying some lunch. Later still after a family gathering we were ready to face the sounds and sights of the night. Following the instructions carefully we were soon at GZ. There were not quite as many sounds as we expected but perhaps the continued dry weather has something to to with that.
Our thanks to n0w0rries for bringing us here.

After caching in Melbourne all day we headed down to Frankston after dark to try our hand at this night cache. Having done our homework before we set off , we arrived at our corrected coordinates to begin our journey through the sights and sounds of the night. Our Garmin took awhile to gather the information that was needed to get to the first wpt but eventually we knew which way to head. Luckily we came prepared with our gumboots to keep our feet dry as there was a lot of water to get through.
We struggled at wpt 2 to find the necessary info to proceed so we ended up just trying our options until the fire tacks were spotted to lead our way. At this point we marvelled at the view we had up here of the city lights. Working our way through to the last plate we soon were projecting to the final GZ and to our prize of signing the log.
Thanks n0w0rries for keeping this nightcache alive as it's such a great area to explore.

This was a fun night cache for Annoying Tarbit and I. We didn't have too much trouble apart from Projection 5, which we couldn't find. We continued along and picked it up at 6, and made the find reasonably easily. Cache in good condition. Thanks for the adventure!

The second of two big night caches that I took on with goodhorsehymn on this chilly evening. I have done most of my caching by phone (a couple of different models) so chirp and projections had been difficult / off limits for me until the recent purchase of a sparkly new Garmin Oregon 650. Many teething problems for me had ghh largely leading the way on this one as I grappled with settings and the like.
The chirp worked a treat and we spotted the plate at WP1. The projections turned out pretty accurately for us and though we were thrown by some of the the interim reflectors we learned to trust the projections. We missed one (WP5 I think) but trusted our instincts and pressed on until we recovered the trail. Many trees checked which didn't have a plate on but we got there in the end.
At GZ there was some confusion about what we were looking for but after some wandering around I made a key discovery and ghh soon had the cache in hand nearby. Took nothing, left nothing, signed log and visited my personal TB. Thanks to the original owners of this one and n0w0rries for carrying it on. A good learning experience for my new hardware too.
We were about to try another night cache nearby but two cars pulled up near the entrance to the park. Let's just say they were looking for something and it wasn't geocaches so we quickly made our exit. Hope that doesn't put others off but as ever, have your wits about you in these parks after dark.

Well this was an experience. I was out with n0w0rries undertaking a maintenance run with him and checking out using Chirp on my Samsung S5; I do not own a GPSr let alone a CHIP enabled one so it was imperative to get the phone working.
I had previously solved the word puzzle and downloaded some ANT+ software. I managed to find the first fire tack while I waited for n0w0rries to arrive but the software was not reporting any nearby devices.
When n0w0rries arrived he put in a call to kmace who had previously used a smart phone to do this cache with him. kmace told us there was another app required so I quickly downloaded and installed it. I will place details of this on FB and the FAQ page Geocaching Melbourne webs site in the near future. Thanks to kmace for assiting.
Once the required software was loaded, up popped the CHIRP data. Yippee. I translated the co-ords for WP1 and we were off to search it out checking reflectors on the way.
We arrived at WP1 and obtained the required projections and continued along the way. It was a great night for a walk in the park and the experience of undertaking this cache was invaluable for other night, multi and mystery caches. I cannot recommend it enough.
We had a couple of issues as we worked our way around the route and actually missed one WP entirely. I realised however that we must be near the final GZ based upon the local geography (knowing the park I had guessed where GZ was likely to be) so having a quick look around I found a likely location for a stash. At this point I realised I was missing my hiking stick which I use as a hole poking device and snake mover oner so I was a little hesitant at poking my hand in the discovered hole. Egged on and with supporting torch light, I recovered the container and signed log.
Now we had to return to the start via a couple of WP's to find my stick only to find it right back at the beginning. That twice in a week I have left it at a WP. Need to get the grey matter working better.
Having been out earlier in the day before meeting up with n0w0rries, it is now some 6hrs walking. I was completely knackered and needed a soak in a nice hot spa before bed; it was so welcoming when I finally sank into it.
Thanks again for letting me tag along n0w0rries and I will be sure to catch up when you do your next run.

Found this one with n0w0rries tonight. N0w0rries had worked out the starting point (which I have done tonight) and off we went to test the chirp capabilities of my phone - while it found the device we couldn't make head nor tail of the information given (though we tried a few attempts). We then went off to fund another cache nearby and while going there we located a reflector from where we followed the trail to the end with a few back tracks, taking the wrong tracks etc. The cache was finally found and the log signed.
Thanks for the cache Rigger64 and biggles1024

This is the last cache in this series for n0w0rries.
Out with kmace tonight for an awesome hike.
All waypoints were located, although I will need to return and replace a couple of reflectors.
The cache was in good condition and we signed and replaced it to the sound of a chorus of frogs.
Visited some trackables and left a badge. CITO an old ziplock bag we found nearby.
Thank you for the great series of caches Rigger64 and Biggles 1024.
Now that we have found all of them we would be only too happy to adopt them all.

Chirp battery replaced and chirp working as it should. My thanks to Tatty for alerting me to this maintenance issue.
I headed out to replace the Chirp battery and forgot to take the battery with me. [:o)] I'll attend to this by the end of this week.
We were in the area today when the chirp went off on my garmin, it is giving a LOW Battery warning! Time for a replacement battery
This was a cache done in two parts! Solved the word search a couple of weeks ago and I was in the area picking up another "wanted" cache but the rain started coming down which stopped my attempt at another nearby cache. I was driving past my solved coordinates so parked and went hunting the chirp which I soon had in hand. Saw where I had to go and considering the weather I called it a night. Today I headed back this way after a day's timing the motor racing at Sandown, parked near the first WP and started the walk. It took a bit of hunting before I finally found the first plate but got it and off I went. WP2 was fine but I had lots of trouble at WP3 (or it could have been WP4, memory a bit hazy at this point!) where the reflector was easily spotted, but no sign of the plate. Spent quite a bit of time hunting before giving up, thing a guess and walking onwards where another reflector was soon spotted. There was evidence of wildlife around which when you hear something in the bush right next to you can be startling! Anyway, followed the trail of reflectors until I got to GZ where the cache itself was an easy find. Thanks heaps to rigger64 for the initial setup and to biggles1024 for taking it over.

#5472 Looks like this area is popular with night caches . This was the only one we had time for this evening given that we had already completed one earlier in the evening at 9.30pm (even we need a little sleep now and again ). Still it took us a while to do the circuit completing the requirements as we went. A very enjoyable excursion around a nice area - we couldn't have asked for a better evening to do it on. We had a beaut time in the whole and given the fun we had we're adding a favourite. Thanks to Rigger64 for the time and effort involved in setting up this cache, it is greatly appreciated. Cheers [^]
While in Melbourne on a quick caching trip, it's never complete unless we do a night cache
The adventures in the night are awesome and loads of fun!
This WAS an adventure and earns a favourite point from me that's for sure.
You had us doing this, doing that, looking here, looking there.....you get the picture.
A couple of spots had us scratching our heads but at the end of the night we did succeed and had a ball doing so! Thanks for the fun 'Rigger64'

On a dry night in Melbourne, the Swaggies ventured forth with Biggles1024 to do a couple of night caches in Rigger Park. Altogether a top night with seemingly mild temperatures and only slight wind meant the I enjoyed my walk around this park once again. Fortunately we had the CO along for the ride otherwise we could still be there now as a fire had obliterated some of the signs. Thanks for the cache Rigger.
I Will be Heading Down To-Nite to fix this one & there will be a couple of others that will be there as well so if you want to tag along be there around 1830Hrs(6PM).
Yes well that was a Bit Premature on my part.
Seaing as Biggles1924 & Swagge 1 were heading down that way i thoght it would be a good chance to catch up with them & do a maintenance run well the cache has been replaced, but the has been some burning & pruning done so i have to now replace the FT's & plates (Bugger)..

Find #456
The CO joined The Swaggies and me as we walked around the park. This was very fortunate because this cache is in need of major maintenance as almost all of the tags containing the projections have been destroyed by a fire that went through this part of the park some time ago. Rob has some work ahead of him.
Ultimately, we were able to sign the replacement log in the new container. TFTC SL

Sorry for any mix up i was spose to disable this one the other day well it is now disabled for the time being..
It apares that the container has gone MIA again so i will disable this cache till i can check & replace the container.
Another epic run and adventure consisting of myself, Square_pegs and Two_Drews. Starting in the afternoon, heading into the night, we cached until late finding a stack load of caches in the Frankston / Langwarrin area.
The weather was fantastic with a bright full moon to accompany us later on helped find a mixed collection of caches with mysteries, multis, traditionals, night caches, chirps, tree climbs, possums and a few nice walks thrown in as well. We had a small late night dinner at a nearby Burger King, errr I mean Hungry Jacks which was actually good and helped fuel us on.
This was a good adventure that had us using our lighting rigs to full effect especially Two_Drews military grade hardware. GZ was found but where is the cache? A call to Rigger64 confirmed we were in the right spot but alas the cache was gone. Logged with permission. Thanks Rigger64.

This turned out to be an epic and legendary day and nightcaching run with abl973 and Square_pegs. Laughs were had, burgers were consumed, possums were spotted, and many batteries were sacrificed to the Geo Gods.
Eventually we got to GZ and a phone call was placed to the CO to confirm we were in the right spot. Unfortunately the container seems to be gone but the CO graciously allowed us to log this anyway.
I really enjoyed the walk around the park with good company - it sure beats doing nightcache's on your own. Thanks for the caching fun Rigger.

This was a great adventure in the company of abl973 and Two_Drews. We lost the trail for a little while, but with some persistence and a bit of luck we picked up the trail again. Wandering along in the light from the impressive full moon we made our way to GZ. A call to the CO for assistance and he confirmed that we were in the right spot but the cache appeared to be MIA. Thanks to Rigger64 for the great night caching fun and for allowing us to log this one.
TFTC, Team Mornington, Skip2992, Hazey1, Biger12, MrMcGee and Saulman1010. Decided to head out a grab a few local night caches. Followed all the instructions and RFs with ease on this one, and went around some paths that i haven't visited before. I tried to spice up the evening with theme music from Jurassic Park in areas that resembled where the Veloraptors were but appears not everyone enjoyed the link Nah had a blast walking around and WP 6 projection for GZ had us a bit spellbound as we can't walk on water, but as Saulman said used logic to locate the cache.

Great Cache in a Great Location (Love the ones in this park)

Team Mornington, Skip2992, Hazey1, Biger12, MrMcGee and Saulman1010, out and about on a school holiday evening activity.
Perfect night to grab a couple of local night caches.
Chirps and projections went well until number 6 which insisted we should be somewhere in the middle of the dam! but with a bit of logic, the hint and good old fashioned persistence we signed the log.
Not sure of the projection of WP6 but we still shared and nice night out in a very dark reserve with lots of strange noises - mainly from Hazey1's phone who insisted on playing the theme from "Jurassic Park" on one of the more lonely and darker tracks...great help!

We where lucky enough to hit this cache with CO on mantanice run.
After picking up the chirp from starting area we were off on dusk, I had my three kids with me for a night walk and when we spotted the first reflector, we got overly excited (first night cache for us) from then on it was a challenge to see who could find the reflectors first.
Followed around track on a very beautiful night with clear skies, stars shining and a small breeze.
GZ was found with two shiny beams small search and goods where found, log signed and replaced.fav point
Thank you Rigger64

Got a call from ahomburg who was keen for some night caches and therefore decided to return to a familiar hunting ground to this one which was the last remaining night cache known in this great area. Having the puzzle completed proceed to the chirp location but had no luck in getting any response. Then I recall a conversation with another cacher on where the projections start so decided to continue to there to see if we could find the reflector trail. As luck would have it the trail was found and the projections worked out, (what a relief) I think the reflector for projection 5 maybe out or I got it wrong either way we continue and were finally at GZ where 2 reflectors were seen (one white and one orange). Had to wait to allow 2 muggles to pass (always an awkward moment), once pasted we proceeded with the hunt and sure enough the cache was finally in hand, yay!! This was a great night cache it had it all. TFTC Rigger64 for the time and effort to set this one up. A fun solvable puzzle too. A favorite from me[^]

I did not have my normal Basketball game tonight, so I contacted my caching buddy to see if he was interested in doing a couple of night caches.
After a DNF on a nearby Puzzle, we started on this one. Unfortunately my Garmin would not find the chirp, but we were lucky enough to have some further information to help us to the next stage. We then made our way along, one waypoint at a time. We did get a little confused at projection 6 as we found two reflectors. So off to GZ we went with two possibilities. The second one seemed best and after waiting for a couple of suspicious muggles to pass we began to search and soon enough the cache was found. Another fun night cache, despite the occasional shower. A favorite point for this one.
Thanks to Rigger64 for the cache. TNLN.

I had found the other undone caches for me in the area as the light deteriorated, deliberately, so that I could finish off this one. I had solved the puzzle but freely confess to getting help with the chirp bit as my GPS was stolen a while back. The rest of the journey went well although I had to look at least 3 times at GZ for the cache. A good cache, thanks Rigger64. You put a good bit of effort into them.
Found on another great nite trek with The Demolition Crew. The weather was clearing for a while so it looked like a dry night but it changed and the rain turned on and off for hours. We had a fun bike ride to log a few good caches and abandoned the 2nd leg of the bike tour of the Peninsula due to the weather, but found more caches driving around instead. Overall, an excellent night to remember.
This was a nice reserve for a night ride. We only had trouble at GZ and had to call the CO to check on our position. It appeared that the cache was missing so BL replaced it with permission & we all signed the log. TNLNSL TFTC,
Roostaman.

Another legendary night run with the The Demolition Crew (TDC) being myself, TrailRunning and Quasar3671. Again with us tonight for the run was Roostaman from Wagga, to enjoy another champion run. The nights agenda was to focus on "Night Caches" which may sound strange for our group, considering we do 99% of our caching at night, but so few of them are actual night caches. Numbers were needed for myself and Roostaman for the "Night Caching Masters Challenge" cache. The target areas were Frankston night caches and the Point Nepean night caches, both areas by push bike. Lots of fun at night, with a torch gaffa taped to the handlebars of a bike... Cool.
The highlight of the night for me, well there were two, me getting my 4000th GC find at Above The Commanding Officer - Carbine, and the celebrated find, in driving rain, at Puzzlemania 7 - Maths Test. Weather was not the best on the night, but we still managed over 60 finds for the entire day, including the run to Melbourne. Another great night, can't wait until the next.... Stay tuned all you caching folks out there.....
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Another ripper Rigger. Setting up the bikes, the Chirp Chirp did indeed go off on TR's Garmin. I thought it was quite funny.... Anyway, it was a great ride around and the only trouble encountered was a missing cache at GZ. A quick phone call to the owner, and he was happy for us to replace it. Luckily I had a spare in my bag to put there. Cheers Rigger, another fav. for sure.

It was another legendary night caching run with my fellow TDC (The Demolition Crew) team members Quasar3671 and Blacklegend. In tow, once again, was our good caching buddy Roostaman from Wagga. While Q and I already have more than the required numbers for the Australian Night Caching Masters Challenge, our country kin needed to grab a few more to get them to the required numbers. The really weird thing is that TDC almost always cache at night, but 99.9% of those caches don’t count for the challenge! So here we were lined up to do Frankston Area night caches and the Point Nepean night caches by bike. The Frankston area night caches (5 in total) and quite a number of traditional caches were cleaned up in less than a few hours. It was then a matter of collecting a few of the harder puzzle caches on the way to Point Nepean. We were having so much fun on the Peninsula that we eventually decided to abandon the Point Nepean night caches leg of the journey and continue to score some big numbers in the Dromana – Portsea area. In total it amounted to a night of 53 caches being collected.
The absolute highlight of the night was watching Blacklegend pull himself up to reach “Above the Commanding Officer – Carbine” for his 4,000 GC.com cache find. Blacklegend you are an absolute LEGEND!
After the obligatory photo of the cache in hand, we hit the tarmac, dirt tracks, streams and cow paddocks to continue the run. While the weather was not the best, it’s something we have come to expect, and all being well prepared, we had a great night. Added to the morning cache total of about 13 caches I think my personal total for the run was well over 60 caches for the day. You little ripper!
Cache log - We had just parked in the carpark and I was getting the bikes out of the car and the GPS when "chirp chirp" as I fitted it to the handle bars. Chirp Details Downloaded! A quick calculation using the iPhone and we had a plausible final location. We did the cache as it should be done and had fun. Another night cache completed. Thanks Rigger64.

On my last visit I had gathered the Chirp data (having previously solved the word-search puzzle) but the cache was listed as disabled so I didn't take it any further. This cache was still in my lists as being disabled (although I see that is now not the case), but having contacted the CO after my last visit to see whether it might be up for Easter I decided to have a crack at it anyway. Admittedly, my visit was not at night, but with the storms and gales lashing here at the moment I must say I'm very glad not to be out there at the moment! (I hope things are calmer up at the Mega!) I was quite familiar with the area having visited it many times before, so it wasn't too hard to follow the directions to GZ. There I spotted some familiar retro-reflectors but no cache in the immediate vicinity, so I expanded my search a bit and quickly located the cache container. I wonder how many times I've passed it without ever realising it was here?! The ants were swarming, but otherwise no problems making the record of my log - the cache was in pristine condition. TFTC

Always enjoy night strolls and this was no exception. We were almost foiled from the start as our starting point was off by about 30m and despite having our best ears on, we could hear nothing. We had actually turned on our ears when we were at our GZ. As we headed back to the geomobile though, we thought we would check something else and bingo, a little birdie told us where to go. Enjoyed the sights of the lights and spotted quite a lot of reflectors which were in pairs and moving about.

I did the projections wilst walking to WP1, however as it was a nice night and I was enjoying the ambience of the forrest I did the right thing and followed the instructions like a good little night cacher.. I like the way you've built these reflectors.. very creative.. (and easy).. I think this becomes NC find #22 and #1546.. Thanks Rigger for the hide.. dipped night caching coin..
We came, we walked through the swamp, we got muddy and sandy, but most importantly, we found the cache!
It was in a spot I had been planning a hide but had been unable to come in with the new puppy back when you hid the cache, it is a great little spot to bring people to.
Thanks for the walk Rigger

Found with lemmykc as we had prearranged to do this one together.
I arrived at the carpark to find Liam and Dad already there and waiting, as I was gattering up some stuff, Liam was already onto the chirp getting the info required to continue our journey, once received we were on our way finding the reflectors and the projections without any trouble and having a good chat along the way on before long we were at GZ were Liam made the find.
We did hear a few loud thumping sounds in the night.
Thanks to Rigger64 for another great cache for my 1000th find and to lemmykc for the great company along the way.

Found with stemicmitsar (his 1000th ) @8:30pm
I had heard about this cache when Rigger was setting it up and I couldn't wait to try it. When it was published I didn't really rush to solve it as it was a monday night and I am not allowed to cache on weeknights, so a FTF was not to be had. I haven't actually been out nightcaching in a while because every friday/saturday night something was on or dad didn't really want to go out. I then got a ping from stemicmitsar asking if I was doing it soon and if he could tag along with me as he doesn't have a chirp compatible GPS. So we tried to make a date we could do it. After checking every date in the Diary we came up with tonight. Steve is a busy man! We arranged to meet at the carpark where we could supposedly pick the chirp up from. I didn't believe that as when I got out of the car it was still saying 40m to GZ. I walked a few more metres while waiting for Steve to get his torches and the GPS picked it up! I did have to move a bit closer so it could do it faster, so I did and then we were off. Each projection was made quite easily although we weren't sure if we were supposed to do the projections from the firetacks at each stage or where the GPS took us. We chose a bit of both but thankfully we still found the cache. I still am not sure where to do the projections from, but we saw every firetack, so we mustn't have been doing the projections too bad All in all it was a very walk in good company. I have been to this park multiple times but never seen it from this view. We all enjoyed the views over the metropolis Thanks Rigger for yet another nice cache Also thanks to Steve for the wonderful walk and also congrats on 1000!
Dropped 2 TBs, 1 of which Steve picked up
Took 1 TB

OK, I know that this cache is meant to be undertaken at night but due to the fact that I work permanent nights it is rare I get the opportunity to get out in the evenings.
When I first saw this cache come online, I was somewhat intrigued as it uses a CHIRP. I had contemplated using one of these on a cache as my GPSr has the CHIRP facility on it but I just never got around to getting hold of one. Seems like I may be among an elite few that has a compatible device judging by the number of finds - I certainly didn't expect to be so close to the front of the log book.
Somewhat surprisngly I decyphered the initial part of the puzzle almost immediately so at least it meant I would be able to see how these CHIRPs worked...
Anyway, I got the CHIRP data from WP1 and headed off to WP2. It was during this leg of my journey that I decided I really do need to spend some money on a new pair of boots. Boy oh boy was it wet and muddy. By the time I had gotten to WP2 my feet were decidedly wet and uncomfortable.
I was a little hesitant when doing my projections as my GPSr doesn't allow the use of decimal bearings so I had to always round to the nearest degree but thankfully, due to the relatively short distances involved the difference that 1 degree made was negligible so getting to each WP was seemingly easy enough (I had to guess I was right as I had no firetacks showing me the way). By the time I made my last projection and saw where it was leading me I was pretty sure I had got things right and sure enough I arrived at the GZ with quite surprising accuracy.
The cache was easily found, in pristine condition (very rare I ever get to a cache this new). Signed the log and headed off to find a couple of other caches in the reserve.
Pity I couldn't undertake the cache in its intended manner (i.e. at night) but nonetheless it was a great cache with a difference (despite my very wet feet).
Thanks Rigger64.

What an AWESOME night out with rigger who was kind enough to allow me to use his GPS as my unit doesn't have the chirp function
WOW! a well thought out cache.
An awesome display of tacks lit the way beautifully as we made our way from one projection point to another. The placement of the tacks were placed nicely & made the walk into GZ a fun experience. Once at GZ the sights & sounds of the night filled the air. The large cache was easily found in it's cool hiding spot.
Overall a fantastic night out with a good mate & topped off with a BRILLIANT & WELL PLANNED CACHE......Top marks to ya Rigger.
Looking fwd to your next night cache
A favourite and a personal score of 9/10

We saw this one was up last night and were happy to see a puzzle that we could work out, by we I mean Cracker Girl. She had a quick look and did not take long to have a set of co ordinates that looked good, but unfortunately it was Diane’s birthday and we had a few friends coming around for tea and we thought it would be bad form not to be there when they arrived so had to wait until early this morning as the rest of our week nights are booked. The Oregon is great for chirps but not so good for projections that have decimals so we came up with a plan to get around that. Cracker Girl stayed at home and we headed off before the sun came up, not feeling too good from the night before. We got to GZ to find another car there with no occupant so expected to see another Geocacher on our travels. Once at Joleens co ordinate we walked around for awhile before the little birdy would talk to us, then the low battery warning started to flash. We started to think we may have made a mistake with the puzzle but then the screen lit up and we soon had the required information. First we went back to the car for a fresh set of batteries. Once they were installed we had the little bird talk to us from the car park, it must pick up better with full batteries.
We then headed off in the direction the arrow was pointing, future finders take heed of the warning the little bird gives you especially by torch light, we ended up with wet feet because we were not looking properly at where we were going. From here we rang Cracker Girl and she did the projections on the computer and told us the coordinates each time they were required. There were some good views of the surrounding lights in parts while most of the time it was so peaceful you would not know you were so close to civilization. We only made one wrong turn and ended up walking a bit further than we needed, totally our fault for putting the coordinates in wrong. We really enjoyed this walk with the birds just waking up and the trees becoming alive with song. We spotted a wombat and quite a few possums as well, some not very impressed we thought they were reflectors and kept our torches on them. By the time we got to GZ the sun was up but behind some very dark clouds but we did not need the torches for the last leg. Once at GZ the cache was found right where the GPSr said it should be. We opened the book to find the expected FTF log.
Not sure why some teams are so quick to find a cache but so slow to log it.
After adding our name and taking the coin we headed off back to the car to find other car was still parked there with no sign of its owner.
Many thanks Rigger64 for a very enjoyable but a bit longer than expected early morning walk in an area that is full of history as well as wild life.

*FTF* As always when a new cache turns up I jumped to attention right away and started to try to solve it. Soon I have both Kellyhaunts and Quasar3671 sending me messages. Quasar3671 was first with working coords, I had stuffed the southing up or else I would of been first with the working numbers. Kellyhaunts was bussy so it was Quasar3671 and me. It was not till we where at the new coordinates that quasar3671 realized it was a chirp cache. I walked around and I could not find a birdy a anywhere. After some time I checked with the owner if it was infact in place yet. Before I got a response the birdy decided it was time to talk to me. We pushed in the numbers and started our walk. It was still daylight and after many more waypoints we found ourself at GZ. Singed the log a joint FTF and headed of home after checking out quasar3671 sweet new ride. Later that night I came back at 6:30 hoping to find some more teams giving it a shot in the dark. This was not the case and I walked it all on my own in the dark. It was a interesting experience with the sounds. The reserve was alive. Enjoyed doing the cache both times. TFTC
*FTF* The alert for the cache came through late Monday afternnon, just as I was finishing up work for the day, and luckily a bit earlier than I usually do. I sat down and did the puzzle and soon had a set of coordinates for the starting point. I contacted C@H and we decided to meet in the carpark and do the cache together.
Once there we went to the starting spot and waited for C@H's GPS to pick up the chirp. After moving around a little bit it was soon picked up and we were off to the next waypoint.
We had a really nice walk around as we moved on from one waypoint to the next, passing the odd muggle along the way, until we finally came to GZ. A nice sized ammo container was found there along with a blank log book. Another nice cache by Rigger64 which involved some walking through a really cool reserve / park that I now know pretty well. Thanks.

The point of this cache being a night is that as the name implys the sights & sounds in this park are very much differant @ night than during the day.
At time of Placing this cache. well the container which was placed about two nights(Somewere around Midnight) after the fire tacks were instaled.
There were some interisting sights & sound that would not have been seen/heard during the daytime.
Like a couple of ring tail possums An Owl & im sure i heard a wallabe bounding through the scrub.
And as for the projections they are only for some of the tacks.

You may just like to put a checker in......... just a thought so people don't go to the wrong spot
There is a nice FTF Prize for the FTF
