Day #7. My last minute WAGB adventure continues today! Road tripping again today but more local. Time to leave Albany and head for WAGB. Posums and I formed a convoy for the first half of the day before going our separate ways in the afternoon.Found this one as the sun was about to set. You can sure tell its an oldie based on the state of the ammo can. Great that there is additional protection to help this one last the distance! Thanks for maintaining.A big thanks goes to LazyLeopard for taking the time to add Grim Jarrah to the geocaching map for us all to find and enjoy.----------------------------------------------------------Wow! The fun just never stops.Have you logged your will attend for Victoria's first ever Block Party? (Think Mega but even more special!)Join us on 22-23 March 2025 in Sunbury to celebrate 25 years of geocaching by logging your will attend at [**GCAP417**](https://coord.info/GCAP417).
Great to get another oldie. The last signature on the log was almost a year ago. And although the ammo can outer container is pretty rusted, the inner Sistema is doing its job. TFTC, found on my Bibbulmun walk, heading to Balingup today, and finally a day off, my first.
Travelling to Grimwade to race the 2 day enduro and thought I'd find a couple on the way, what a great tree and hide, the poor ammo tin certainly has been through a lot but holding up TFTC!
Found while walking the Bibbulmun track as part of the 25th anniversary end to end hike. Thanks for the hide.
Today TaurusSix and I decided to take a drive , pack a picnic and clear up outstanding caches across a wide area and do some maintenance on our own caches in a kinda planned, circular route. We started the day by heading in the Ludlow then Capel direction, then onto Donnybrook and then the back roads around Grimwade. Then up through more back roads to Collie before heading back to Bunbury. The morning started off chilly but you could see it was going to be a lovely sunny , winters day and sure enough by mid morning it was glorious. It was lovely seeing the steam coming from the dew off the paddocks first thing and we were blessed to see lots of wildlife including bird life along the way. We thoroughly enjoyed travelling the roads less travelled today.
This was our sixth cache find of the day. We were particularly keen on this cache because of the age of it. We made our away through the back roads to get here. Then we really enjoyed the stroll along The Bibbulmun Track and then the mini bush bash to get to gz. The cache itself has certainly seen better days , obviously that’s what 21 years in the bush looks like. All in all a great cache find and it gets a favourite from us. Thanks for the cache Lazy Leopard .

Found this aging cache. Looks as though it’s been there for much longer than 19 years. Log still all good. TFTC
Managed to park quite close to this one a the rain started coming down. External cache quote rusty, but the inner cache was nice and dry. TFTH!
Found on a road trip to Bridgetown with I C Nothing and Meme28.

Out with the MIK team (Me ICNothing Kapelula) picking up some caches today. In true style it’s raining but less people to worry about. Nice old cache living inside a burnt out host!!! Cheers
Detoured to pick up this well aged cache.
Picked up TB to move on.
Caching our way to Bridgetown.
TFTC Lazy Leopard this is find #11672 for us.

Heading to Bridgetown for Easter and decided it was time to come and collect this old cache. We were able to drive mostly to this cache and saw a nice camp area on our way in then it was just a quick stroll and the cache was in hand.
One to finish the day a short walk off from the Bibb. Really glad to get this one whilst in the area. Some fire damage around cache but it’s fine. Emptied water from can and placed back in its spot. Thanks
After completing a 16 km section of the Bibbulmun Track nearby we couldn’t resist asking our tired legs to give a little bit more and walk us to this cache. The cache has survived a bushfire at some stage so we emptied out the wet sooty muck in the bottom and signed the log that was in a separate container within. Glad to make the find here...now to head back to base for a well deserved rest. Tftc Lazy Leopard
Staying in Nannup for a few days, taking the roads less travelled we stopped to find this cache on our tour…. Parking roadside we had a nice walk to GZ before heading bush to find the prize
TFTC Lazy Leopard [^] Great to see this old one still going despite the fires & thanks to fellow cachers for adding another logbook… Hopefully will be good for many years to come.

Short walk into this one! Well worth it the bush is just beautiful! Great to see such an old cache still going.
Passing through the area with the main aim being to collect this old cache. The walk was pleasant on a section of the Track. This once big jarrah is now grim indeed. Found cache and its inner container and got my hands very black, but grateful for Lazy Leopard for the placement and some of the FOTT guys for replacing.
Out ‘n about with m4yb getting a few caches.
Great to see this one back in play. She made the find while I maneuvered the camper trailer.
Thanks for the hide and Lazy Leopard.

While visiting Greenbushes for a few days we have found a cache or two. This is one of them. This cache has had a hot ime of it but it is still there.

A nice very quick find as the rain let up very momentarily to pick up the very rusted and burnt ammo box and sign the new log within the brand new sustenances.
Cleansed the wet charcoal stained hands on nearby wet bracken leaves before departing and continuing on our Bibbulmun hike.
There certainly have been some grand old trees here.

Found with cullum68 while in this lovely area time for some caches thanks for the cache
A quorum of the Fott was here so we are retrospectively claiming the find. If that's an issue let us know.
Staying at Grimwade for the long weekend with some muggle rellies and just had to have a go at some of the caches nearby. Dragged them all along and we had great morning picking up a few smilies here and there with a bit 4WDing thrown in too keep the naysayers interested.
A nice stroll to GZ here for this long lived cache. Happened onto Kyzabra and SVKR_WA at the last cache and they provided me with a more secure container to place inside the burnt but still serviceable ammo can.
LazyLeopard I found your cache at 11:28am, this was the 5th of 5 finds for me today and brings my total find count to 5264.

Things are definitely grim for this burnt out cache.
I didn’t read the logs or else I would have bought a container to put in the burnt can.
We signed a leaf an put it in there.
SVKR_WA and I decided it was long overdue for a day out so we hatched a plan to head south towards Bunbury for a day of caching.
Not to much planned, we decided to wing it and grab what ever came our way.
Thanks heaps to Lazy Leopard for placing and maintaining Grim Jarrah. We found your cache today. I added my name to the log and replaced where I found it.

After more than a month without any caching, a road trip was in order. Picked up Kyzabra early and headed south to Bunbury and surrounds.
Made a nice walk along the Bibbulman track to this cache. Sadly a fire has pretty much destroyed the container and contents.
Signed a leaf to prove the find.
Bumped into Garnett a little after we made this find. Gave him a container to place in the burnt ammo can.
LazyLeopard SVKR_WA found your cache Grim Jarrah today at 10:14:23 3 Mar 2019.

Was hidden well - memories of a 52 km , 2 day walk on Bibb Track that nearly killed us!
LazyLeopard I found your cache Grim Jarrah thanks for placing this hide and bringing me to this area.
Well 2017 is nearly over, so we must make one last hurrah with a quick road trip south via a number of country towns to our eventual target of Manjimup to bag and tag a number of green dots on the map that have alluded us for far too long. I also had a mini goal to grab the twenty remaining caches to ensure I beat last years total finds of 2554, which we easily knocked off today.
After a good gym session this morning we left from Treeby heading south to Bunbury, where we turned off and made our way towards Manjimup via Bailingup, Kirup, Grimwade, Greenbushes, Bridgetown and a few others along the way.
We weren't sure about grabbing the caches in Gromwade as it looked a bit secluded but were very grateful for the good sized containers and good hides.
Our favourite caches for the day were a number of wandollip wanderer caches which were all very well constructed and deserved the many favourite points that we gave them! Thank you for making caching very interesting especially the school hides and around greenbushes.
We ended up caching in the fading light in Manjimup with 50 or so finds for the day, a huge effort. A few left in town for us to grab tomorow.
Thanks to the local COs for their great caches and we look forward to finding the remainder tomorow.

Amazing banksia and jarrah trees. Reasonably easy find, bright yellow after all. Marched around an amazing jarrah tree in our search. Everything in good condition. Found a pencil near Hz that we put into cache. TFTC
After clearing a few branches from the tracks for the geotruck to trundle along, we parked up nearby and trekked to the GZ.
After a bit of a search around, and a few bemused looks, it was only when we looked from a different angle that it jumped out.
What a great hide!
Cache was in good order, dry and serviceable. We left a piece of chalk, and took the flower spoon.

Geocaching has taken me on many adventures over the years all over Australia and overseas. It has also introduced me to a brilliant and diverse group of people, many of whom are now close friends.
Today I was lucky enough to be out and about with some of those friends and we targeted this cache.
Sorry for the late log, but thanks for adding to the adventure!
Thanks LazyLeopard for placing this cache.

I enjoyed the quiet stroll along the walking track.
Well away from the chaos and noise of Grimwald this morning
At the midpoint of me stroll, I reached GZ .
Well it had to be the midpoint didn't it
I still had to walk back to the geomobile [:o)]
And after a good 10 minutes of looking here,
looking there,
looking, looking everywhere !! [:o]
I found a cache
Phew !!

This one is a fair way off the Bibbulmun track. Could be worth recording a waypoint when you leave the Bibbulmun track, just in case. TNLN thanks Lazy Leopard

Side trip to Grimwade to pick up a few caches on Fathers day. The hint was very handy. TFTC
Nearly walked straight past this one. It was only I decided to drop the pack and have a rest I pulled out the map and saw a note that a cache was nearby. Fired up the GPS which showed a 60 metre walk. Thanks for the cache.
We always like an old cache so on seeing this was not too far away so off we headed. The car gPSr suggested a 300m bush bash but we drove a little further and came across a good sized track which got us to within 60m and then a short bush bash. We found one of the items in the hint but could not find the cache. It was not until after we had a big and wide search that we came across the hid. Wow nice to see what appears to be the original container and log book. (We found the cache a little east of the feature in the hint. We completed the signing duties and re hid. TFTC.

[|)] 5th cache of the day and the geokids were exhausted after the walking - helps if you follow the bib track instead of bush bashing from the road
Walked past this one a few time before finally heading in the right direction! TFTH!

Missed this the first look but Mr was onto it the second look topped off our day nicely!
Realized how quickly I was running out of school holidays, so headed southwards to do a bit of caching and catch up with old friends along the way. After cleaning up down in Bridgetown, I was in two minds whether to take a detour to these caches or not, but the lure of unfound caches won, and I am glad I made the effort. This one was my last find for the day - 33 all up, so a very successful day all around. Looks like it would have been a huge tree in its day. Thanks LazyLeopard
Found after a short stroll in the bush. Should've worn shoes instead of thongs though! It helped reading the description properly though! TFTC!
TFTC LazyLeopard. Actually did this on the 31st, but there's no provision for a 31st on the log in! Should have read the instructions a bit more carefully and would have saved ourselves some confusion in finding a way into this one. Great spot and the cache is in great shape. Those ammo boxes are the best! Signed log but TNLN. Have to bring the grandkids down here to check out all of the caches in this area.
Nice short walk in the forest. Cache reminded me of what caches used to be. Probably my oldest cache find.

Wow! I really should tell people of I am going out alone into the bush. Nice hide, although I couldn't see the Bibb track anywhere! Thanks for bringing me out here LazyLeopard!
Took the GC to move it along.

Had an unfortunate collision with an emu on our way. Luckily we were in the Geocruiser, not the car, where there was a bit more room between the ground and the undercarriage. He got up and ran off into the bush amazingly, but left a huge pile of feathers. Not a great start to our geoday. However, we found the cache and left a Geocoin, which wants to remain in W.A. Lovely to be out in the bush, fresh air and peaceful surroundings. TFTC!
I should have GPSed my location when I went off the track to get the cache, but no worries, found it and got back!
We must have the record for the number of metres walked given that we parked relatively close! Eventually found it with no thanks to my navigation skills. Found on pleasant day caching on last day of school holidays with teamtriplefive8. TFTC
Went for a little walk up bibblemun track to find this one, pick up the Elephant TFTC
Quick find after a very wet night last night. Found this cache in the rain aswell. Managed to drive within 30metres of the cache. TFTC Lazyleopard
The 500m walk to the cache from the road has to rate as one of my favourite bits of the Great WA Bike Ride. I was blown away by the variety of banksia growing in this patch of bush, I saw plenty of other plants as well and plenty of big trees.
Thanks for bringing me here LazyLeopard.

the walk in was relatively uneventful and we found the cache quickly. coming back out we decided to be clever but zigged when we should have zagged and managed to miss the track. ended up circling back and found another "road" that eventually lead us back out to the grimwade road about 500m from the car. oh well.

I should have read the co-ords for the parking location first haha. Enjoyed the extra walk anyway
Pleasant walk and an easy find...reckon if you walked the entire Bib track you would find a lot of cahes!. TNLN.
Nice location, the cache has not been done for a while. Thanks Lazy Leopard - we picked up Baz the travel bug from here but it wasnt shown as being in here.
I later tried the opposite direction of the Bibbulmun Track to walk into town. Enjoyable area of forest. I used the clue but the last sentence of the clue actually led me in a great circle because the entrance track is quite obscure - it was useful on the way out. There is a typical Geocacher trail in now.
Detoured down past this cache on my way home from a mountain bike race at Lowden. A gorgeous spot, and a lovely walk in on the Bibbulmun track.
Took nothing, left Silver Moab Kokopelli Oz TB. Thanks for the cache!
