Found at 4.40pm. An easy find completing the caches along the closed dam wall road. A 6km walk with plenty of uphill.

No single men around here today on a damp and cool day. All good with this one. Thanks for bringing me here
No problem finding the cache but its not attached to anything with magnets. Nice peaceful spot.
Day 8 of our 2 week road trip south from Brisbane. After overcoming floods, a bogged car and vehicle electrical issues, we finally reached Canberra to spend a few days with relatives and explore some of the newer virtual and earth caches since my last visit. It was then time to continue the journey south towards the Snowy Mountains.
Our destination for today was Tumut but before getting there I had some caches to find along the way including this cache.
It was late afternoon when we visited the dam area and were not sure what time the gates might shut so the anxiety levels were quite high as we drove up to the top of the dam wall. Not helped either by Google Maps constantly trying to take me along a closed off road to get here.
A quick dash out of the car along the way and I was able to discover this cache and sign my name in the logbook. TFTC

In all the years we have lived near and travelled these mountains, we had never been to Blowering. On a stunning sunny day it was the perfect time to fix that. This is a very interesting spot historically. Thanks for the hide Emongs.
#5773.
We finally had the cache to come and have a look at the dam. It is really impressive from the dam wall perspective. We managed to quickly find this cache on our way to the wall. Thanks for sharing the interesting history regarding this location. TFTC!

One of the few caches we have found over the past 2 days that is in good condition.
The single men only section must have been huge!
Thanks The Emongs.

There was a small group of "us" heading off to meet more of "us" in Tumut for the weekend. Our merry band of misfits was made up of MTrax, Tankengine, Joolay, Aquilus1 and myself. In the car we all thought of a name that we could call our gang, but in the end we decided it was a Canberra Invasion Trip that we were on so just went with CBR5. We signed logs either indiviually or with the group name.
It was an awesome weekend all up, with lots of fun with friends. We cached all day then met up with the rest of the Invasion Team for dinner Saturday night, then cached some more on Sunday until it was time to head home. Tftc The Emongs!!!

Found with CBR5-DTY73, Tankengine, MTrax and Aquilus1 on a caching trip to Tumut. Having a great day, lots of fun. Unless otherwise stated cache found in good condition.
A canberra caching invasion of Tumut this weekend, saw dty73, Tankengine, Mtrax, Joolay and myself stopping for this cache. Logs signed our caching team name, CBR5.
Interesting history, no evidence now but interesting all the same. Thanks for the cache!

What a fabulous morning this turned out to be. It had rained most of the night and there were still showers around, so I wasn't overly enthusiastic about going out as I hate getting caches and logs wet. But Pa was still prepared to be my chauffeur, so off we went. Up to Tumut Tower, what a great little drive that was and back down to start on the trip I had planned using Cachetur.no, that involved the caches on the way to and around the northern end of Blowering Dam.
All that I intended to go for today were found and logs signed. My apologies to COs for not adding individual notes, as Pa is a friendly but often impatient muggle, so time was precious. However many logs are either damp or full, making them difficult to sign in any kind of order. Maybe we should have warned COs that this area is being "Invaded" by a mob from Canberra and Goulburn this weekend.
The weather was particularly kind, as when we parked up at the gates to walk out to Old Gum the rain stopped completely and it hasn't started again at 15:18 when I am composing this . Looks good for the weekend.
A huge thanks to all the COs for these caches. I had a ball!

#3349 Nice to know about the local history of any area. The village has been well cleared up and returned to native bushland and is a lovely area. Cache located in the second place we checked. TFTC The Emongs.

A last minute plan swung into action so StrangeTrousers, mtrax and myself were off to Tumut for a Sunday geomission. We managed to nab a decent number of caches before heading back a little earlier than planned as mtrax was felling quite unwell. It was still an all round enjoyable day and we plan to make a return attack!
We wandered down from the car and then it was on with the search. Checked one spot first before moving onto another then another before mtrax came up with the find here-right where I just searched! My excuse is I am an swf and not a single man so that's why I didn't find it [:O)]
Thanks for the hide, The Emongs!

A Sunday road trip to Tumut from Canberra, along with Strange trousers and SpecimenX, a brilliant day for caching I had a rough trip over via Wee Jasper, but what caches I did visit I enjoyed, managed a few during the day but plenty more for a return trip.

#3265 28 of 32 today.
Out for a hastily planned trip out to Tumut with mtrax and SpecimenX. Oddly, neither of them have done a lot of caching out there and I had done none, so there were plenty of common caches to find. I really enjoyed the trip out there via Wee Jasper. The winding roads and amazing scenery made for a pleasant journey ... for most of us. I was a bit concerned about the predicted high winds, but they did not eventuate and on the whole it was as good as it gets for a winter's day in the mountains. In the end, we had to cut the trip a little short as mtrax was not feeling too good, but still a good day's haul & plans for a return are already in the pipeline. Thanks to my companions today, it's always great to get out of town and do some exploring with good company.
SpecimenX was trying to decide if she was elligible to search for this one but in the interests of equality we didn't resist.

A nice quick find here! I told my dad the name of the cache and he said "Well that could be interesting"
A very uniquely named cache indeed, not often is a cache limited to a single demographic of people!!
Thanks for the cache and history lesson

Juno and I were in the area for the June Long Weekend hunting for a few very unloved caches. With the goal completed, we then decided to grab some other local finds.
Oh how much this area must have changed over time.

Today was the first full day of our caching adventure with Rapidlywild in Tumut. I have never really been to Tumut before and was quite surprised by the size and the beauty of the place. Lovely water ways that were crystal clear. Just a lovely place to drive around and explore.
Another quick find here but not by single men.... Did wonder what the title meant until we got to the cache.

After arriving into Tumut last night, we got up this morning with intentions to get as many finds as possible. We seen some wonderful scenery today, and loved the running waters around Tumut.
Interesting little piece of information on this listing. We were unsure of the name relevance when we found the cache, now I know.

I parked my car and set out for a walk around the area caching. I walked about ten kms, along roads and up a steep track to the dam. I found ten caches on my walk and more later in the car. This was an easy find. TFTC The Emongs.
Day nine of our High Country holiday. Another sunny day at Tumut with Bettyboo3747
Got out the deadly treadlies for a relative early morning ride along the river and wetlands.(again!)
We then travelled down to the dam wall at Blowering for some caches.
Then back for a dip in the creek - must be beer O'clock!.
We will take your word for the history of the area, as there is no sign of any habitation nearby!
A nicely camoed cache, but the magnets have become unstuck.
Thanks, Robmc.

# 9987. After riding around the bike track and the wetlands this morning and quite a late breakfast and start to the day we decided to go out towards Blowering Reservoir for some sight-seeing and caching along the way. Managed 19 finds and the usual few DNF's (this time it was 2). Finished off the day with our swim in the river at the Caravan Park. Most enjoyable.
It is amazing that there is absolutely no sign of any housing remains here - well not that we found anyhow. We did find the nicely camouflaged cache but both the magnets have come adrift from the host.
Thanks The Emongs

Quick find in the early evening. The Bush smelling fresh after the rain. Dropped off a geocoin. Thanks for placing.
My bike ride around Tumut had taken on a life of its own [:o]
The breadcrumb trail of caches I had been following had led me all the way out of towne to the dam
I certainly didn't expect that at breakfast !!
But here I was, a single man, on a mountain bike, wondering where this fair caching maiden was hidden [:X]
Oh to easy to woo this one

Can't believe I haven't been out here before. Bring a pen/pencil as there isn't one
It was raining cats and dogs therefore we only visited some caches direclty along the street or in a short walking distance. It could not be avoided to get a bit black hands.
I was the same as the previous cacher wondering how a magnet could gold in the scrub but soon found it and all was revealed good hide TFTC.
My father worked on the Snowy Mountains Scheme and I can dimly remember when Cabramurra, Talbingo and Blowering were big places with lots of men who spoke strange languages and more significantly drove big machinery. It is hard to believe that 45 years ago that this tranquil place was busy with cashed up shift workers, totally amazing. The cache had me a bit baffled, as how can a magnetic cache container be out in the woods. Nice camoflague and a great effort in hiding the cache. Thanks Emongs for placing this cache where hundreds of men once lived.
This is our last day in Tumut so have decided to explore the Blowering Dam region.
