TFTC. That makes six from seven for Ar3ys and me. We came at it the wrong way, so we had quite a rock scramble - but that's part of the fun, right? What great views.

maldon looks like a lovely little townit's great when little country goldfields towns take steps to preserve a little of their historywe think that beechworth stands out in this regarddriving through the town centre, and ignoring all the Teslas, you could reasonably think from the shopfronts that you'd been transported back to the diggings of the 1850smaldon has clearly taken a similar stanceeven the BP in town looks like more of a saloon or stable than any service station we've seen beforewe climbed this steep, short hilland enjoyed the view over the old goldfieldsthanks for the treasureyou picked an lovely spot

Out for the morning in the Geo Tucson for some shopping in Maldon and Castlemaine. Looking at the map this one piqued my interest. So with my hiking pole in hand up the hill I went. No wriggly sticks spotted. The cache was found after a quick look around. The view was great so I understand why you spent so much time here with Charlotte. Cache all good and healthy. Thanks for the cache rtbk91

Nice cache Charlotte. CoolThanks for showing us this amazing place that we now intend to return to when we have more than a fleeting moment to enjoy these views. [^]TFTC robeert Cool Fav for the location. Big GrinThis was just one part of an amazing day that will remain special to both catnap777 and I for ever. [^]Our first stop in Maryborough was at the Lyal Eales Store to have a closer inspection of the new caravan we are dreaming of. [^] The next was the library for cat' to catch up on some light Geo-reading that I had already perused. Wink Then it was a gentle stroll through the Botanic Gardens before making our way (via another multi) towards the Bristol Hill Tower, on top of which that little incident occured where I fell on one knee. Big GrinFrom there my new fianc and I hit a few more caches before setting sail on the Laancoorie Reservoir for a romantic spot of fishing..... tree fishing. RazzOur brand new squidpole had arrived just the day before and we were busting to give it a run. Big Grin It worked a treat. WinkWith a swag full of T/5 smilies and our little tinnie packed away, it was off towards Maldon for more tree fishing, some more magnificent elevated views (here on Mt Tarrengower), and then an evening meal in town that we will never forget. Cool While completing the Adlab in Maldon, we were drawn to a takeaway shop by hunger and great music pouring through the welcoming doors. Apparently the local fishnchippery transforms into a pub on a Saturday night. CoolTwistedBig GrinWe shared a woodfired pizza and a beer in a romantic nook. When asked how we were doing by the friendly bar staff, I mentioned that walking in here was the 2nd best decision we had made all day. TwistedWink We were soon being serenaded with Elvis Presley's "Can't Help Falling in Love" by the talented live musician and congratulated by the locals for our pending nuptuals. SmileBig GrinSmileBig GrinBest day ever. Geocaching is life. Big GrinSoon we will do it as husband and wife. Razz [:X]

Cache found and log signed with dalerious Razz. My darling dalerious asked me, are you sure you want to do this one?You see I am 7 weeks post op from a partial Knee Replacement, and I haven't yet walked up a steepish grade or indeed, clambered over rocks.Well, I am glad to say I passed with flying colours. What a beautiful place for you and Charlotte to spend some quality time.I camped across the road a few years back and can't believe I missed this cache.Thank you robeert Smile.

Just a short walk over from the campsite, I searched every nook and cranny until the cache revealed itself. Great spot!

Today we have headed back to Bendigo to do our best to find caches that have 10 plus favourite points to get us started on the new challenge we have been set by headquarters. We have been fortunate with the rain and have had mostly a dry day. All the caches that we found are in good condition. SL TFTC

10-Apr-23
Searched under all rocks one in crevices to no avail. Why is it others can find them easy but my 75yr body struggles. Even with Grumpy2’s eyes we had no luck.
Thanks for taking us to a nice large rock though.

01-Apr-23
nice view from top pf the hill.

12-Mar-23
I am sure I just didn't look hard enough. My 4 year old kept falling over and there were a lot of spider webs so I gave up. Beautiful spot though.

I did a wee loop bushwalk with this one & another cache not too far away.
Light was fading but it was a beautiful evening. As a regular hiker, the loop was really enjoyable but both caches were well guarded by huge, thick spiderwebs between everything they could possibly attach to. This find was a real surprise in 2 ways - my GPS had gone wonky donkey again & when I did find it I was 14m out!!!! But the find itself was also a huge surprise & not remotely what I was expecting. Many thanks

12-Oct-22
Thanks for a nice cache with a view.

26-Apr-22
What a view! This was well worth the stop and the walk. Beautiful spot here and a nice change of scenery. We enjoyed the walk up here and the search amongst the boulders for the cache where Aysen claimed victory. Really glad stopped here, thank you.

19-Mar-22
Cool view, went up the wrong way so had to park the bike 90m back and hike. Thanks for the cache!

22-Jan-22
Found this one this morning on what I thought would be a quick post work stroll - I don’t think I could have been any more wrong!

After winding my way to the top, I found Charlotte & her friends had built a series of web’s to guard the cache…between that & the chance there could be a wiggly rope or 2 enjoying my the warmth of the rocks I decided a photo of the cache location was all I was game to get (luckily I could see the green handle from my vantage point - happy to send evidence to the CO to verify the find).

TFTC, & for the workout!

26-Sep-21
All i can say is that Charlotte must have good legs! Thanks for the workout and the cache.

12-Jun-21
In Maldon for a days outing with Geodog Penny and FUF009 came with us. Today we took Mr Tyred n Cranky up to this area to enjoy the views and to show him the rock that defies gravity.

We knew that this cache was in the area, so on the way down we just had to stop off to have a look.

As this cache was our very second find in Geocaching, we just had to revisit it today seeing how we were so close to it. We found it way back on Saturday 16th June 2012 - nearly nine years ago. We were amazed to see it still there and it was in perfect order.

Sure did bring back memories.

TFTC robeert and for keeping it alive for all those years. Good to see that it wasn't archived.

Yet another beautiful spot in hidden Maldon, thank you very much Garth

22-Oct-20
Waalking between the nearby cache and this one was not too hard but when I saw the clue I thought, well durr! It was not too hard. but neither of the pens in there were working, so I had to etche my signature!

13-Oct-20
Another week of getting out and about in the caravan for the team, this time to the Maldon area. Maldon is a great town with a variety of shops still open in beautiful historic buildings. Love them. A walk up the hill from camp to get some exercise, and to live life as well. Clambering amoungst the rocks and fun and had to carry out small dogs over the rocks while still balancing. Eventually found at 3:35 pm. Took 1 and only TB, and left a FP. OK up hill to the next one.

14-Sep-20
With step 2 restrictions now in place I was able to head a little further from home and meet someone in Maldon (halfway) to drop something off. With that done and dusted a walk was in order and we decided a few geocaches might be fun. Some great views up through here and a lovely walk. Many thanks for the cache.

After working out how was best to get to this one, it was a nice quick find. Thanks for the cache and bringing us here.

13-Sep-19
Once we worked out the best way to get here, the cache was soon located. Not like another member or our party that had walked from the previous cache. I suppose we had to find this one as we had to find him also and return his car keys, lol. Thanks for a great cache.

01-Jul-19
Nice cache to find while the others were visiting friends. Quick scramble and to GZ, and without the gps, the geo-sense kicked in and the cache was found. Nice one, TFTC. Dropped TB.

With a first to find in the area I made the journey up from Lara to try and keep my monthly streak of a first to find every month alive. With today's find my streak is now at 39 months Smile.
I stayed for the sun set from the tower something I did nearly 28 years ago with Sims_family mum while we were on our Honeymoon. ON the way back down I stopped for another two caches before the daylight was completely gone.
This was the first of them. I made to to GZ before I needed to break out the headlamp. Once I had some light the cache was right before my eyes hiding in the first place I checked.
Thank you robeert for the hide

On a well earned break in Castlemaine and I’m spending the time just touring the whole area, enjoying the sites and picking up caches as I go.
I have driven up this hill on dirt traks and on the bitumen.
On the way back down this time I stopped and decided to head up the hill to find this one.
I hope you and Charlotte had a great time at the Folk Festival.
Thanks Robeert TFTC.

TFTC. After having been cooped up for a few days it was time to get out into the fresh air. We decided that Maldon would be a nice spot to spend a few hours. WE had headed up Mt Tarrengower, but workmen around the area made it a little difficult. As we headed down the mount we stopped here. We had a look at the nearby camping area first then I (Hans ) headed in an upward direction to GZ. After a short search the cache was in hand. SL TNLN

My family and i accidentally discovered this cache while sitting watching the sunset. We had just purchased a new caravan and camped near here to try it out. Great spot to sit and watch the world go by.

Heading up to the lookout we couldn't resist the decent DT on this hide . So we parked the car close by and went for a hike up the hill. Ran into an orienteering guy who asked if we were doing the same thing....no, we are geocaching! Well he knew all about it and had accidentally come across a few in his hikes , so the awkward situation turned out to be not so awkward! Anyway the cache was found and signed before heading back to the car.
Thanks robeert for the placement in this interesting location.

02-Sep-17
Found today, after a orienteering event. good hiding place out of the weather.

thanks rebeert for the GC

12-Jun-17
Found with geo_wife during a visit to Maldon. We walked up to this cache after taking in the views from Mount Tarrengower. Fortunately we made a quick find amongst all the rocks. Also dropped off a TB.

01-Jun-17
To be honest this cache has annoyed me for quite some time. It's just been sitting there and I hadn't attempted it before as I often cache alone and was worried it would hard to get to or I'd get lost ect ect. Turns out I really didn't have anything to worry about and this wasn't to bad after all. After getting a few smileys earlier on in the day and with some time up my sleeve I decided to give this one a good hard crack and I'm glad I did. I can finally knock it off my list. I'm glad I came up here what a beautiful view. Log signed and replaced and now they head home. Fav point and TFTC

22-Apr-17
Found with becca85 & neisha07 after heading to Maldon to fill an otherwise boring arvo. TFTC, sorry for late log. Smile

22-Apr-17
With nothing to do today and a souvenir on offer we (neisha07, boo09& I) decided to go for a drive.
This is one of our closest un-found caches that I had previously avoided when in the area as it looked to be quite the hike. Today we only needed one cache find and had several hours to fill so off we went.
Turns out it was nowhere near as bad as expected and once up, the cache was found quickly by the 9 year old. We hung around for a bit longer to take some photos before heading down again.
Glad to have this one converted. TFTC robeert!

**Find #771**

On a beautiful sunny day, with a nice short walk up to GZ, I was confronted with a lot of hiding spots among the rocks. Luckily for me the cache was found after about 5min. Grabbed 2 TB's, Climbed to the top and enjoyed the views, Took a few photos. Thanks for bringing me here **robeert.** TFTC.

20-Dec-16
Suscoe headed north very early this morning for a day of caching around the Maldon and Newstead area.
We left home in steady drizzle but by the time we crossed the divide the sky eased up a bit. For the remainder of the day we had sunny skies with the occasional cloud and a generous southerly wind blowing which kept temperatures in the high teens and low twenties.
The country is pretty dry around here but we were pleased to report that grass seeds are not as bad here compared to the North East and even Castlemaine.
A delightful walk up the slope and with a few tracks to follow, GZ was soon located.
Enjoyed signing the log in the peace and quiet of this spot.
Thanks to robeert for this hide.
Could imaging the folk music drifting in on the wind or some Morris dancers doing their thing on the rocks..

28-Aug-16
After a good walk ahh found that I am not so fit haha.
Made a quick find signed and replaced. Now to head home. TFTC.

I really have got behind with logging, but will log as today.

Find #1005 for me. Today I visited this location with 3 of my muggle friends. Two of them had been on a bike ride from Bendigo to Heathcote and back the day before so found the climb a little more challenging, but the views from GZ were well worth the effort taken to get there! It took us a while to find with so many potential hiding places, but with 4 of us searching, one of my muggle friends soon announced that she'd found the container after about 10 minutes. Thanks for bringing us here today robeert and thanks for the cache!

16-Apr-16
Good climb to a great view. Second climb for the day. In many ways this climb seemed easier than Anzac Hill in town. Easy find. Left a special bear hair clip, took Pat the eraser. Tftc.

Found by Team Ninja, 21/01/16, find number 724.
I spent the day volunteering at the local Maldon tourist railway and as we were running the diesel train we ended up with a much longer lunch break than normal. So I decided to round up a few more of the local caches. It had been pouring with rain all morning but thankfully it had eased by the time I searched for this one. The rain had brought out all the kangaroos and this spot was no exception with a few eastern greys watching me as I made my way to GZ. What magnificent views! This is what caching is all about. A nice walk through the bush, decent sized container and a great spot that I wouldn't have known about if it wasn't for geocaching.
TFTC!

This one took us a little longer than it should have, we looked in all the wrong places first. We actually still have some "Pottery koala tickets" from the 1989 Maldon Folk Festival. Whilst retrieving the cache P-P's head and an overhanging piece of rock had a violent disagreement - the rock decided it wasn't going to move for anybody.

Our thanks to robeert for bringing us to this location.
