We finished the K2O tour today, walking the stretch from Threlkelds Road. The avenue of trees with European willows on one side and Australian eucalyptus on the other was quite striking. A lovely spot, and a quick find. Thanks for bringing us here TikvaNZ!

Today I spent some time out and about finding caches around and in Christchurch. I ventured a bit further out at first and made my way back towards the city. This one hasn't been found for a while. All good though. Cache found safe and sound. TFTC, Biggles.
Great cache.
I have biked down the main drain loads so I thought that it would be on the metal signs along it. But when I got their it was reeling me that is was the other side of the stream. And I saw the metal post. And I did not want to walk around so I took my socks and shoes of and walked through that ice cold stream. To the other side.

A popular trail for walking dogs it seems! Made a false start by going diwn the wrong side til I realised there was water between! Thanks for the cache!
Yeah. Have been down the other dide countless times. First time on this side
Walked straight to it this time, as previously took the wrong side, like many others. Lovely walk on a " very warm Winters day "........don't expect it to last. Tftc

This is one of my closest unfound to home, and one of 7 caches left within 5km of home - so time to finally find it and knock it off.
Such a gorgeous sunny day, so after doing and hanging up some washing, decided it would be nice to walk along the river! - However I forgot that mum was coming to visit - ah well, she could come too!!
So pulled her out with me - didn't take much convincing, and we did the walk as 3 generations of girls!
Quite an easy find here- read the hint while approaching, and then managed to spot the obvious GZ from a wee way away! Nice to tick off the last in the series, and another one close to home
TFTC!!

I nice afternoon adventure with daughter and granddaughter, beautiful day for it!! TFTC!!
Lovely sunny day on way to duck dash with my cache buddy whom I have not cached with for in ages. Cheers for the hide.
Yay caching with my buddy on the way to an event. A great way to stretch my legs. This has been on the radar for ages. Today I went for it. Thanks for the hide.
Had an early afternoon meeting and as it finished early and was halfway home I decided it was time to grab a few K2O caches as the final was starting to niggle me. Quick easy find on this one, grabbed the numbers and was off to the next. Thanks for the cache.
Nice evening stroll. Thought for a minute i was on the wrong side of the bank when i saw a car go halfway down the other side, stop and turn around. But as i turned on my phones gps (battery crap so had to wait until last minute) i found myself mear metres from the target...awesome. Got the clue and i think thats the last one. TFTC.
Found while doing the Kaiapoi to Rangiora Fun Run/Walk. was a good excuse for a 2 minute break.
Time for a short walk - and as we have decided to tackle the K2O Tour again we needed the number anyway. Quick find, TFTC
I am in Christchurch for the mega as there will be to many caches to log I am logging standard caches for everyone. Thanks to everyone for placing their caches. tftc

After Monday night's disaster of being on the wrong side, we got it right this time round. Parked car on the main road and Caitie15 and I set off! Wandered along to GZ, armed with torches. Cache was guarded by spiders but I braved it anyway. Signed log and back to the car we go. Happy to tick this series off, now to put together the co-ords for the bonus!
Found ourselves on the wrong side, so Daddy Sharpe took the plunge and did the hard yards. TFTC
I wouldn't let partner take our car down the track. Off he goes for a walk. Gets back and is rather grumpy. Didn't take a pen with him, lol. Found, signed and returned. Thanks for the cache.
Like others before me I found myself on the wrong side of the river! Ah well its a nice day for a walk. Just went back to the start and along the other side. It was nice to see cows and horses grazing and a few people exercising their dogs (although I didn't like it when they ran up to me!). Cache was quickly spotted and signed. TFTC
Cache was quickly found after a short walk along the stopbank. Thanks for the cache.
Drove down the road and found myself on the wrong side of a stream. Though to myself, 'who cares', my feet were already wet from the wet grass so off I went! Bit brisk, but a deep or wide wade and the caches was soon in hand. TFTC, #6764
Logging this as a DNF but really it was just an interesting caching adventure for us lol. Did we read the cache page... no.... we drove down the road and when the compass said it was around 174m that way, we stopped. GZ looked kinda rough but it was a higher terrain so we thought it fitted. In we went, carefully though as there was water everywhere. The muggles next door came running, and were VERY friendly. So friendly the owners have put an electric fence on their side to protect the actual wire fence. Once we'd gone about 40m we realised we were in the wrong place as we were heading for someone's chook house. Oops. Oh well, patted the horse and started back when one of our number had a bit of a splash. What's a caching outing without a bit of adventure thrown in. Glad she didn't get totally wet, but still felt bad about it. We'll be back for the actual cache another day, but next time we'll walk down the stock back!
Happy to finally cross this one off the list with the company of warfi.
Cheers

Last time we were on the K20 trail, we had found ourselves on then wrong side of the Main Drafin and there was a lot of water flowing after days of rain so crossing it like the previous finder was not an option.
Today, we navigated to the "right" side, and after a short walk, we finally had all the info we needed for the final. TFTC.

#6997. I'm pretty sure we managed to be on the wrong side of the drain on both previous visits. Last week there was far too much water in the drain to contemplate wading. Today on the other hand a paddle would have been very pleasant. TFTC.
Went down the wrong side of river. What to do. Off with the shoes and socks and walked up to GZ. TFTC.
Running a bit behind in my logging. Trying to catch up before Mega but running out of time before we leave. Log still to come. TFTC
Hmm. Spotted the hide easily. From the wrong stop bank. A quick trip around and soon had another tick. Thanks for this series, it's been fun.
Nice walk and an easy find. M did this twice as we realised we needed the number. Our 1900th cache, I think that deserves a favourite.

So far this has taken the most effort. Met the farmer at the gate while he was burning off excess leaves etc. Checked it was ok to continue walking. Cache was a quick find thereafter. Tftc
Accessed by a pleasant short walk from flaxton. Even someone jogging down the track. TFTH
We drove to this cache, but then discovered we were on the wrong side of the water! We retraced our steps and went for a short walk. Having read some previous logs, we took a shiny new logsheet with us and put this in the cache. Unfortunately by the time we returned to the car we had forgotten the code. Hopefully the nice cache owner will email it to us since we put the new log in. TFTC
I drove pass this one as I was heading to the Flaxton cache as I didn't stay on the stopbank. After the Flaxton cache I notice a secondary maybe even tertiary road and went for it. It looked promising until I hit a gate. It said "please keep gate shut", so I went for it. I drove to GZ on the top of the skinny stopbank and made the find and signed the log. Then it was a reasonably quick reverse back down the stopbank. This bit of river is lovely. Thanks for the cache. Log is about ready to be replaced.

Passed by here some months ago and was not willing to get my feet wet so did it today with dry feet. TFTC
Have been trying to get around to this one for ages- having done all the others. Today was the day- and a lovely day for the walk- and quicker and easier than we expected! Thanks TikvaNZ
nice day for a walk, glad to get this one in the bag, last in the series for me, so on to the final. TFTC TikvaNZ
We had a lovely day for our bike ride. No wind, no rain, sunshine and warmth. TFTC.
Managed to find 46 caches on a mornings adventure with Mrs G. Decided to come out again in the evening to try and make it 50 for the day. Grandparents visiting meant we could both head out and have a bit of a nighttime fun. Parked up in a likely spot and headed off on a torch-lit nighttime wander. Most fun. Quickly cornered the cache. great wee spot. Thanks. 50/53
First find ever for Miss Seven and her Dad! Very exciting for us and off to look for more. Thanks for the hide.
Easy once you got on the right side of the water. Would love to have crossed but just too much water today and discretion is the better part...........
Freezing cold but the southern skies look as tho they might clear for this ride -found this along the way- ta
A nice walk beside the river. Forgot to get the number but hopefully we can fudge it later. TFTC.

#1,154: KO'd #3!
GeoYoungling #3 and I came up here today to make some finds that have been on my list for a while. I've been solving several LGM hides lately, and wanted to start clearing the backlog. I've also been wanting to do this series for some time, and today turned out to be the day. I wanted to do it by bicycle, but just couldn't find the right day for it, so we did it by car.
GY#3 finally woke up when I finally found the correct way in (on foot) to this one. Driving to it seemed a bit awkward, so we stretched our legs, and walked. No one around today (rain in the morning), and the water was pretty high. GY#3 made the find, and was happy. Collected the necessary info for the "bonus". Half way there!

As a field tech for Ecan, I've seen a fair few of these recorder boxes. Its the first one that I've seen that has housed a cache though!! Nice spot, TFTC.
Time to do a tour of the outskirts of Kaiapoi.
I should have taken a bit more notice of the map before venturing down the wrong side of the creek to get this one. So a decision had to be made on whether to cross the stream and have wet footwear for the rest of the day or backtrack and go down the right side. I need the exercise so it was a long walk.
Cheers for the cache.

The longest walk so far when using a car. Made it harder for myself when I realised I had forgot the numbers when I had nearly got back. TFTC
A fine day; set out late in the afternoon to give these a go.
Enjoyed the walk down the stop bank; frolicking calves still around but no muggles. TFTC.

Started off on the wrong side, but discovered our erroneous ways well before we had reached the cache. Met frolicking calves and a horse rider on the way out.
