I am regretfully archiving this cache since there's been no response from nor action by the cache owner within the time frame requested in a prior reviewer note.
Hi bumandworker
This geocache was brought to my attention as being in need of an owner maintenance visit and after my previous reviewer note, there has been no owner response. The cache owner needs to check on this cache ASAP and either replace it or archive it, after picking up any geo-litter. See the [maintenance section of the Geocache Listing Requirements/Guidelines](http://www.geocaching.com/about/guidelines.aspx#listingmaintenance).
I've added this cache to my watchlist, and I will check back in four weeks to be sure that the maintenance has been done. In the meantime, I have temporarily disabled this listing. When the maintenance is completed, the owner can enable the listing by clicking on the link below the cache name to return it to active status.
Whatever your intentions, please **post a note** here on the cache page (not email) to let us know that you are still active and maintaining the cache. If a month passes without seeing a response, then I'll assume that this listing should be archived.
Please note, that if a cache is archived due to lack of owner maintenance, the cache is unable to be unarchived.

Out caching with Tufty up the Awatere Valley as far as we could go before we reached the road closure point. What a jungle![xx(] My gps said I got to GZ but I could not see anything there cut off.
A little bit of a bush bash the found quite easy Nice hide thanks for for placing
Mum & Z11 went hunting together for this one. It reminded them on 'going on a bear hunt.'
Cache found in the open on the ground. Relocated to obvious GZ spot & gave it some shelter from the elements.
Find 4 on our family drive.
TFTC B& W!

On the way back home from a quick trip up Blairich, on geocycle-m version 2, to grab the last 3 i didn’t get last year. This one almost looked a bit damp and mucky to get to but in the end wasn’t too bad.
Wanting a sheltered and shade spot to camp the night we headed out here. Such a lovely place by the river and only one other camper.
The cache was a bit further in through the scrub but there and waiting to be found. Cheers

Over 4 years since we DNF'd this one. My GPS batteries died just as I got out of the car so quickly replaced them, it was still booting up when I got to where I remembered we had searched last time and there was the cache lying on the ground. Returned to what fitted the hint. Nice to get rid of this blue frown on the map. Thanks bumandworker

We needed a day of 50+ finds for a challenge we are doing so headed off to the Awatere Valley for the day. Unfortunately we hit the school/work traffic which slowed us down considerably, but once through that we got moving fast again. After fueling up in Blenheim, we headed for the Awatere and our first cache.
Heading back down the valley now collecting the caches we missed on way up. Almost done for the day. Pulled in here and by the time we had turned around another vehicle was pulling in behind us. Luckily they continued on to the campsite. A long hunt but eventually Andy came up with the goods. tftc

On day 3 of a geocaching mission through the Molesworth and back to Chch via the Lewis with Nosynel. We signed logs when room was cramped as JE NN. My lovely son loaned me his flash Toyota Hilux so we were in more comfort than we would have been otherwise. Thank you for placing a cache in this spot. It was a scramble in a jungle!
The big Molesworth circuit is in progress. Today is day three of Jude _E and my geotour. Thanks to her kind son we have use of a Toyota Hilux, extremely helpful indeed. We stayed a night at Blenheim with some of Jude's friends and are staying another night. Therefore our focus has been Blenheim based.
We wanted to finish the Awatere Road geocaches via Redwood Pass first.
Next on our list was a puzzle, virtual and wherigo. Anything else was a bonus.
A bit of a scramble to get there.
Sadly there is no large event in New Zealand in 2019 but there are a few Mega events planned in Australia. I plan on going to the OzGeomuster in July. To find out more visit this site: https://www.ozgeomuster.com.au
If you can't make Aussie. New Zealand will have another large event in 2020 in Auckland. I will keep you posted in my logs.
Thanks for hiding this geocache.

Out with eltee291 and Hingis20 for another day of caching and we decided to take the scenic route to Awatere Valley. Bit of Bush whacking never hurt anyone... yeah right eh eltee291?
Pretty quick find today with eltee291 and crman1. Just a matter of getting in there! Signed the log and replaced as found. Thanks for the cache, bumandworker!
Found today with hingis20 and crman1. Back to being an awesome day and therefore we are traveling the hills and valleys. In NZ on vacation from Victoria, BC, Canada. TFTC
Found on our return journey north to Papamoa. No problem with the find once we fought our way through the jungle. Log was soaked so we replaced with a waterproof one. The places you find on a bumandworker trail TFTC.
Found with our 3 and 5 y.o. Stopped here over night and saw Rosmar's vehicle, but didn't realise it was them!
We thought we might camp here but the only spot was taken already so off we went to get more caches and stay in Seddon. A bit of a hunt to find it, pushed into the mud under foot so put it back up where it belonged.
An awesome Molesworth Mission trip with Karma Reprint and The Wanglers (signed as K2T), today was from the Acheron Accommodation campsite to Seddon. Thanks bumandworker for the cache, 83 of 132 for the trip and 71 of 93 for the day. Cheers

A plan was hatched and the plan set into motion, Kiwi Moose and Karma Reprint asked me if I'd like to join them on a Mad Marvelous Molesworth Mission... I asked them to give me a day or two to get back to them. I was able to get the Cachelets sorted so I was on like Donkey Kong.
Day 1: Boys picked me up and we headed to Hanmer for a cache or two and some mean as burgers for dinner. Popped over the Hill and camped at the Acheron DOC campsite. Enjoyed the many stars, we would have enjoyed more if we were on the other side of the trees, doh!
Day 2: Up and at em nice and early and cached our way to the coast. Weather was good with a bit of patchy rain. Spotted the the High Country Flying Club hooning up the valley, we saw 10 or so light aircraft. We were stopped at the Wards Pass by the Molesworth Station Manager Jim and had a sausage and a cuppa while we waited for the mob of 1000 head of cattle to wander up the pass. Great yarns were told by Jim. We decided on a camp site but it was crap and we headed into Seddon for the night at the Awatere Motor Camp.. that was interesting.
Day 3: Worked our way home via the coast and a few side trips. KM's vehicle had started acting up so we nursed her home and got home just after 5pm.
Great company, great fun and a few caches were ticked off the ol' list.
KM scored the find here, bit over grown and cache was on the ground in muck.
We signed the log as K2T (Kiwi Moose, Karma Reprint and TheWanglers)
Thanks for the cache bumandworker.

Cache 71 out of 96 for today.
Cache 74 out of 132 for the trip.
We were wondering what we were going to do to qualify for the latest hidden creatures challenge. We have been streaking for a couple of years so our supply of caches around Nelson are starting to thin out. We decided to come over to Marlborough for the weekend to make up the numbers we needed. We had noticed there were many park and grab type caches in this area so this is where we decided to target.
We searched high and low and around all sorts of possibilities to try to find this one (with no luck).
Then I read the cache page and all became clear. But there was no cache in the place that fitted the hint. So we put in a replacement eclipse tin that is wrapped with black tape and it has a all weather paper log.
With the hint being so specific we felt that there really was only one place that this one is supposed to be. If this is not okay, please feel free to delete our find.
Thanks for placing this cache and thanks for the smilie

We missed the entrance for this on the way in so decided to do it on the way back. Then it was too dark to see and the head torches we had were pretty crappy.
I have been here before on a previous excursion around these parts and had no joy. Reading the last log gave me hope that it would be found today, and so it was with Jo spotting it straight away. TFTC B&W
A bit of afternoon caching to keep the numbers ticking over.
Today Jo was working the morning. Not sure how that is going to pan out in the future, because she will have a new job in Feb. And for me, it was a few house chores in the morning, then check the trap line at Grovetown, get a warrant for the car and pick up some new glasses. Then I got bored, so we headed out to Awatere Valley Rd before popping into Big Vern's place for a coffee on the way back.
A good day out. Success with all targeted caches and thanks to the COs.

Found the cache on the ground in the middle of a clearing in the bush. Places where hint said I hope. Tftc
A few days off work to just cruise about and this was the first morning this week that I awoke to sunshine.... so headed out the door to the Blairich project for a big walk.
Here is one on the way - would be rude not to grab this one too.
A wee diversion off the road and cache was quickly in hand.

Drop off at the Seagnoids on the way through to the Awatere - Hey what - I pick up the chauffeur. Well that makes things easier. Now I only have to try and navigate and find. The Medway are the only couple of caches The Seagnoid has not done so we start there and work our way back to SH1. Its rabbit hopping back to the main road.
Another easy find. Bit slushy driving through here. Cheers

Last time I tried for the two caches here there were some muggles camping here
Detour down this road to find some caches on my way to Blenheim over Taylor pass. Signed log and returned as found. Thanks for the cache.
Had the gps this time, not just the phone. It was much more accurate, and found much easier. A nice we reserve, about 5 campers here today too, but they were further along the track so we could easily hunt without being seen. We were up the valley picking up pinecones at a friend of a friends farm, so ventured further to grab a few I missed and that have been placed since last time. Tftc.
The main event today was to drive up the Awatere Valley to explore somewhere I'd never been before. A great drive some lovely scenery and maybe find a cache or two along the way. A most enjoyable day. TNLN SL TFTC
Like it seems a few others before us we planned this trip about a month ago. Chelzea and I doing a weekend cache run through Hanmer to Blenheim through Molesworth Station, an overnight camp and then return along the main highway back to ChCh. A pretty intense weekend with over 120 caches found that most seem to blend together so reluctantly cut and paste logging. Had a great time finding many wonderful caches in a fair few cool spots worthy of the visit. Very few DNF's but will note anything interesting or wrong with individual caches. Thanks to all the cache owners.
Last cache for the day as we decided to camp here for the night and continue on Sunday.
Last cache for the day as we decided to camp here for the night and continue on Sunday.
Sevren and I decided on a caching road trip Hanmer , Blenheim via Molesworth Sation.
Girls weekend with daughter! Last year we decided to head out to Molesworth with a suitable vehicle, and now was a good time for it. Sunday was nice, hot, and sunny. We started caching past Hanmer Springs and wanted to see where we get to, aiming mainly for drive-by's with a few shorter lookout walks in the mix. As we ended up in Blenheim for the night, we found a few there, before heading back into Awatere, and then down south. Great time in an amazing area, thanks to all the CO's for their caches to keep us entertained along the way!!!

Out caching for the weekend with mum. She had hired a 4wd for us to be able to attempt getting some caches which we may not be able to otherwise! So we did a quick two day weekend trip to see what and how many we could find.
On day two, we decided to finish clearing out some more caches towards molesworth way, with a stop in Blenheim central to get some of those caches that would be easiest first thing on a Sunday morning with noone around! Then went back down towards Molesworth as it had been getting late yesterday so we skipped a few!
Didn't do that huge a weekend, but had fun, and still got sleep too!
Thanks for all the hides on the way

After some planning Shannonp1 and I got sorted for a mission into areas we hadn't been. Up to Hanmer through the Molesworth to Blenheim, down the Wairau valley to St Arnaud down the Shannandoa to Murchison and then home via the Lewis. 209 caches for the weekend and a pretty high success rate. Thanks to all the cache owners especially Bum and Worker and sorry for the cut and paste.
So a few weeks in the planning phase, me and Surveybase finally got out and about for a mission. Through Hanmer, up the Molesworth to Blenheim, across through St Arnaud, Murchison and then home. 209 caches for the weekend and a pretty high success rate. Thanks to all the cache owners and sorry for the cut and paste. Cheers.
I was in NZ for the holidays. Offcourse I did some caches. This was one of them. Tftc!
One of the many caches we found on our journey from Oamaru to Picton via Molesworth Station. A mighty and enjoyable journey through NZ high country. Many thanks to the many CO for the great cache placements and for bringing us to new places. Sorry for the generic log.
Found with NZDi. While all and sundry are in Christchurch at the NZ Mega Event, NZDi and I are having a little geocaching weekend of our own. Today we travelled the length of the Awatere Valley up as far as the Molesworth Cobb Cottage and picked up all the caches we didn't already have with the exception of three of GH6710's caches up the Mt Altimarloch Road for NZDi. We even managed to score a F T F up the Medway which must 'annoy' Marchwood as he was up there the day before when it was listed.
Tomorrow will go to Nelson with our MTBs and ride around Rabbit Island picking up caches where we can, and on Sunday we will go up the Maitai Valley and see what we can find up there.
Grabbed this cache on the way back from getting GH6710's Off-Road Blairich Pylon, there were plenty of options matching the hinted item so it took a while to find the right one, once again eagle-eyed NZDi came up trumps.

On the road to the MEGA - Day #1
I decided to venture up and over the Taylor Pass and then on into the Awatere while on my way to Kaikoura.
I spent half an hour here in January with no luck over quite a wide search area. Today it was a small search area but still not an easy find. And those Hawthorns do have lots of pointy bits.
Glad that I don't have to come here again!!

[purple] On my way along Taylor Pass and up the Awatere for the day geocaching. It is a beautiful day for it. I am trying to beat my daily limit of 22. I think I got 52!
There seems to have been some work done here recently. I saw what I thought the hint indicated, and the upper part has been cut off. I scrambled over cut tree limbs and fresh saw dust from nearby to get closer. I had a search, around under and up, with no luck. I didn't find the loo either- although I wasn't looking for that .

We had contemplated going to the West Coast to do a "maintenance run" on our geocaches there but with all these newer ones over this way the other trip was put on hold for the time being. Besides, we hadn't been down this valley since our Molesworth trips back in the summer. All logs were signed either H+H or HZ HM to save space.
Yay!!! After twice looking for this cache I walked straight to it today before Hazedarus had even got his bearings. How does that happen? On previous searches this spot was the obvious one and got repeated attention in between checking other places but all to no avail. This find is surely worth more than one smiley?

We have wanted to clean up the Awatere Valley for some time (again). It was decided to wait until the flood of new placements eased. We left Nelson in total darkness with a frost. The day turned out to be sunny. The list was 46 caches. It resulted in a score of cachers vs muggles: 45-1. It's great to get this monkey off our back. GZ has had our attention twice before without results. As I was getting my bearings Holymu already had made the find. It was the obvious place that more than once had been inspected. Just not thoroughly enough it seems. Thank you Bumandworker.
Fortified with breakfast at the Raupo Cafe in Blenheim, StreetWalker and I headed off on our big caching adventure through Taylor Pass, up the Awatere Valley as far as Awapiri. Drove back to SH1 then a quick side trip to Seddon, finishing with a few finds in Blenheim as darkness fell. 47 caches found on a very scenic and interesting trip.
Many thanks to all the COs whose caches we found, what awesome places you all have taken us to and apologies for the copy and paste log but with 47 logs to write, it could take a while to do each cache justice.
We left this cache for the drive out of the reserve after finding the one by the pylon. Wasn't an instant find, and had to resort to the hint. After a few minutes, spotted a likely hide and there was the cache. As I was returning it, unearthed the original cache - does this mean I get two smileys for this cache ?? TFTC.

I'm cycling around NZ and had a good night in the woods nearby because there were campervans allowed only. The swimming in the evening was sweet as, very recommendable! And in the morning before the ride to Molesworth Station I logged this one. tftc!
No luck for me today. KE didn't quite make it visible enough for this turkey. There has certainly been a large area searched by the look of all the flattened grass. I counted 24 of the hint objects!! I must have missed one. The one the cache is hidden in or on.
bookmarked (see link on cache) we will double check this....but special thanks to Kiwi-Explorer, but sounds like things may have changed??
Saw a DNF by others cachers following our find here and worried that we had been spotted. Stopped by when passing today to check cache was still there. It was but was very hard to see. Better now.
We surely gave it a go but no luck today. And yesterday for that matter. Unexpectedly we had to cut our expedition short and return home the same way as we came. We hoped to strike it lucky on the rebound.
We stopped here yesterday for lunch on our way through to Molesworth but had no luck. Today, with a mechanical problem determining that we turn back rather than continue through to Acheron and Hanmer we had another quick look but still no joy.
Spent ages looking with Nanzie but no luck. I'm sure it must be there but as it was late afternoon and we still had to get through to Molesworth Station and other caches to get on the way. I will be back
Out for an afternoon drive with Mrs KE. With a camper van in residence we had to sneak in for a quick one. Unfortunately or fortunately depending on your perspective it wasn't a quick one. After quite a search Mrs KE finally uttered the magic words.

Trying out the new Garmin GPS today, much more accurate than the cellphone. Lead me straight to this one. Great overnight spot. TFTC
Today is one of those wonderful weather days that you kind of hope was a weekend day, and a caching day but work takes precedence and must be done. Looking longingly out of my window and trying to work out which of my few nearby caches I should attempt to keep my mini streak going. Even watching colleagues going out for a midday run (madness!) was frustrating and the home time bell couldn't ring soon enough
A quick jump on the internet and I spotted a loop drive I could do to knock off some back road caches and see some more of the wonderful Marlborough scenery. Plugged in ten caches to go with the few already loaded onto G P S and with a bottle of water in hand set forth, or fifth maybe.
Made a big deal of finding this, approached from the top for some stupid reason. Accompanied searching by two of the darkest plumaged fantails I've ever seen, nice
T F T C found in the end

[green] An awesome weekend caching to and fro Kaikoura, but with two things marring it - one: I could only do a two day weekend, despite that this is a three day weekend - I suddenly got dumped with a ton of homework - I better do some study. And two: Someone smashed a side window on the car and stole the sleeping bag. So this weekend is going to be a lot more expensive than I had bargained for . Still... 120 caches! That will be a weekend record for me. And just about every cache between Blenheim and Kaikoura converted to yellow smilies. Lots of walking, sunburn, dust. Big smiley on my face even if not in my pocket!
Spent a bit of time here, struggling with the phone - this is outside the range of my pocket query on the GPS. And there are a number of the hint items around here. And thorny trees. But no other people. Anywhere. Found the cache eventually

Find #340 for the BAMMJams - took a bit of a hunt to find this, but was easy enough when we looked in the right place (like any cache, I guess!) The mini-BammJams took out a letter magnet and replaced it with a dice. TFTC.
Finding caches as we travel from St Arnaud to Hanmer Springs via Blenheim and Molesworth.
Didn't find this one though.
