Had a lovely walk here, we didn't know there was a path here so enjoyed exploring along the river. We saw a duck with so many babies! Maybe 7 maybe 8 but they keep moving so Miss 6 struggled to set on a number. The letter box part of this cache is in need of maintenance. The stamp is saturated and wouldn't stamp, the ink pad is full of water and log book soaking wet not possible to open. The cache log has been replaced recently enough and is dry. We put it all back together and back in its hidden spot. TFTC
Out with rattll after a visit to the Avondale market. The day was showery, so not too many people around at GZ, but still some timing required. Fortunately, found fairly quickly. Signed, then returned after a furtive glance around. All good. Tftc!
A bit of a drizzly morning, but not enough to put us off a bit of shopping at the markets, and grabbing some more caches before heading back to Hamilton. It's always good to pick up a letterbox cache whenever possible, so we made sure to head here since we were parked not too far away. Thanks for setting this up
On a geocaching weekend in Auckland to complete this months challenge including needing to find a letterbox.
Making sure we were dressed for the occasion wearing gumboots and a raincoat we ventured out to get this cache.
The cache took longer than it should have to find however we soon had it in hand. As many have said before it was saturated.
Thanks for bringing me here and for the cache.

Yvettetb and I are down in Auckland again for a geocaching weekend. We had a great day today at the event then collected all the different types needed for the souvenir around Auckland. That was a sucessful outing and although rain constantly threatened it only spat on us occasionally.
The forecast for Sunday wasn't much better. As luck would have it we had another dry and productive day. We even managed to get 5 ftfs in Whangarei to finish our weekend off.
Yvette did the Park and Run in Cornwall Park this morning so I wandered around there geocaching while she did that. It was then off to the event and library multi. This is one of the few letterbox caches I have left to find in the Auckland area. It took a while to locate it as it was lying on the ground not near the obvious tree. We tucked it in behind the obvious tree as I assume this is where it should be. Thanks for your letterbox cache

On a mission today with ABCDF4 and eyepyben to gather as many of the icons needed for the current challenge.
Letterbox cache was the type there were few options that all of us had not found. This was it. Once at GZ we looked for awhile before I spotted something. The container was full of water but log was dry. Stamp pad did not look as good. Thank you for the placement.

I've been wanting to come to this one for ages, since there's not a lot of letterboxes around. Finally made it here today! I wasn't sure what to expect from the logs, but it was in better shape than I was expecting. I like the camo on the container (which is holding up fine), and although the old logs are soaked, there was a nice dry one in a separate bag that I could easily sign. Tucked it back where I found it and then started making my way home.
Thanks for the letterbox cache!

Quickly stopped in after work.
As per the previous logs everything was very wet.
Was able to dry out the log and sign it.

Busy day at Ken Park today. The cache was found but was in dire need of some TLC, soaked and ink pad is not well. TFTC
Soaked and wood on stamp is so waterlogged it’s breaking away. Ink pad completely empty
Found it... eventually lol. Took a bit of a weird route to get to the tree in an effort to avoid muggles
M24: As other logs have said, the cache is saturated, however fortunately, I was able to sign the log. Nice and easy cache to find while out and about today.

329. Our first letterbox cache after a nice Saturday morning cricket game. Everything is saturated. Definitely needs replacement. Nice camo but quick find. TFTC
We were at the park today for the kids soccer game, so while they warmed up I took the opportunity to find the caches in the area. A nice quick find here. I appreciate the effort that went into the original camo on this cache. As mentioned in previous logs the log book and inside of the cache was very wet, so I added a waterproof log in a new zip lock bag - hopefully this stays writeable for a while.
Not found too many letterbox caches before so was excited to come and look for another one.Quickly found this cache.Really liked the effort that had gone into the cameo but was disappointed to find the log books were very damp so we were unable to sign them even though we did make an attempt.
Really nice camo!!
Everything inside is totally soaked. Needs a good dry out. It’s really hard to sign right now.
Thanks for the nice letterbox!

Found it. Unfortunately the box and log books were extremely damp (see photo). Nice camouflage. TFTC.
Found this one today. The box is extremely wet. Nevertheless thanks for the cache says Marika from Germany
On a road trip with Team BOP After doing the Crayola trail we came into Auckland and found some more caches and beautiful parks. Thanks to all the COs for some great caches and please forgive the template as it saves a lot of time back home. TFTC
With some of our Team BOP mates: (Mr) Davidson clan, McJandals, NZFlossy, and Philip.Perry. Logs were signed with our Team BOP handle... Today, everyone is looking for a break on the Mystery at the Museum case... We have knocked out two puzzle trails so far, and we still don’t have enough finds to qualify for the museum safe code... Now what?
The decision was made to push further into West Auckland. A couple of puzzle solves were considered and whatever else fell into the mix... Since we were nearby, it seemed logical to hunt out caches in the vicinity... This one is wet and the logbook needs attention. Otherwise, all of the standard letterboxing equipment is in place. Thanks ishoot and TFTC.

On a mission with Team Bop. We’re hoping to clear up the mystery at the museum challenge. I am logging using the Cachly app template so please excuse generic logging along the way. It’s just my way of keeping track, but I do genuinely thank each and every one of you cache owners for taking the time and energy to place these caches. Many Thanks for bringing us here. Cheers
#852. For today's cache of the day I was out this way and so failing to get a cache right beside the mall, I thought I'd detour past this one, as it's always good to get the more unusual types of caches.
Parked up at the other end of the park, and battled past all the drones being flown in the field to walk directly across it to the other side! The cache was very easy to find, it is sitting quite out in the open, it has camo on it but I think this cache is starting to show its age and the camo is not what it used to be.
Like others have mentioned the contents of the cache are completely saturated. The log is only **just** signable.
Thanks very much for the cache!

Grabbed this one as my muggle work colleagues sat in the nearby car park. I made a beeline to what i thought was GZ to discover a tent in among-est the island of trees. I then re-orientated myself and soon had cache inhand. The log and cache are very wet but was able to sign. I had no way of drying them out in the misty drizzle. Thanks ishoot for the creation and placement for it adds to the types i have found in New Zealand

A few games of cricket being played here today, but didn't pay me any attention while I made a quick find, TFTC
I had a bit of spare time up my sleeve today as I had been to a working lunch which was quite a luxury for me. And what better way to spend the time than by finding a cache or two. I am also currently trying to maintain a daily geo-streak and so currently I try to find at least one geocache per day… which sometimes has proven harder than it sounds. Anyway that is how I came to be looking for this particular cache. I had seen this one recently on the geo-map… So after the lunch had finished, I dragged Kiwiflash along for the walk as he is quite new to geocaching and was keen as!! So after parking as close as we could, we made my way to GZ on foot where we made a straightforward find. The logbook was quite damp but we managed to sign it ok. So thank you ishoot for taking the time to set up this cache. I really appreciate your efforts in doing so.
thanks for this letterbox, and the film knowledge you presented!

Logged on our first day in New Zeeland. I visited New Zeeland in 2006 but I didn't know about geocaching then. Loggad as SWEx4, four geocachers from Sweden, Nogana, ursus67, Pidjas and myself.
I had this letterbox cache on my list as a must do for a challenge I'm trying to complete so was disappointed when on opening of cache it was just a soggy mess. Tried our best to sign and stamp our names. Really needs some TLC
Found with trayc.g while up here waiting for the Katy Perry concert to start. Good camo, but filled with water. TFTC
Off on a caching mission today with DaffyNZ to collect enough numbers to complete the Hidden Creatures souvenir challenge. Left Whangarei just after 7:30 am with the bikes strapped on the back and made good time, so were unloading at Pt Chev well before 10. The weather was looking great, so we loaded up and headed off along the cycling paths, which were actually a lot busier than anticipated. But I can really see why - they are fantastic and a great asset to the city. By the end of the day we had 56 finds under the belt, the souvenir challenge completed and only half a dozen DNFs along the way.
This was an extra one at the end of the day and was on the list to do if time allowed, as it was a different type to normal. Quickly found in the hint location, but was quite wet inside. Managed to sign the log okay though. TFTC

Taking the long route home, on my way to do some cache maintenance nearby. Stopped here to show my nephew his first letterbox cache. Nice easy one to locate. Logbook is a little damp, but still signable.
It was getting near lunchtime so decided this would be our last for the morning. Our first letterbox so found the contents interesting. Nicely camoed. Easy to find. Thanks.
Look forward to getting one of these when I see them and when I noticed it nearby I made a detour to pick it up. Fortunately the rain held off for most of the time I was here so had a good walk around the park. Cache and contents in good condition. TFTC.
Found to fulfill the final requirement for my license. Quick find. Tried to dry out the damp items as well as I could.
#70 Found with my mum Gr33nslime and perhaps my dad JimmyNZ. Trying the mass logging thing with GSAK hence the really general log entry!
Out taking care of a dot day and working on a project GC gem today so this was a real good find. Up in BHB for Xmas and with little DangerSAM having a nap Gr33nslime and I were able to pop out to this park. Hardest part of the trip was actually planning the drive to avoid the Lynn mall traffic. Harder than you'd think day before the Santa guy turns up. Cache itself was easy to find once the cellphone compass played ball. Gr33nslime brought some items to dry it out so we left it in a better state than found.
#859 on a mission at the moment to collect letter boxes and we saw that this one wasn't too far away from where we are spending Xmas. Combined with a quick trip to get meat for the barbie we nipped over to the quiet park with only a couple of young uns practicing in the Nets . Cache easily found even with the cool and very effective cam. Cleaned and dried out the cache, cleaning out the seals and gave the log books a couple of minutes in the summer sun. So left in a better state than we found it. Very cool stamp added to my letter boxing book. Thanks for a unique cache type.
JDScout and I are having a mini break in Auckland. It is Canterbury Anniversary holiday. We had lunch and then headed out to find some more geocache. This time heading west. I love letter box hybrids.

Our last geocache for the day, now back in Auckland after a lovely road trip to Waihi and back. Ms Google Maps tried to send me one way but I was having none of it having played football down here back in the day. That was Sunday League football for City Socialists FC and oddly most of the team were self employed builders, electricians and the like. I suppose the team is long gone by now much like the Soviet Union.
In the gloaming the cricketers were still getting some last minute nets in but apart from that we were easily able to walk across to GZ and pick up the cache. Easy to find. As others note, the books are quite wet as the elements are getting into the box, but we were able to sign the log. Tiredness was catching up with us, so sorry we didn't get our stamp out for the letterbox. Regardless, TFTC.

Have'nt seen one of these for quite a while, but even in an air tight container moisture always seems to get in. Consequently the log book was a little damp, but still ok.
After a 6am start, TNXPro, Davidsonclan and I have joined forces again to tackle Route 66 North of Auckland. This was my 20th cache today and it was found quickly thanks to accurate coords and a good hint. This was one of my many unplanned stops for the day but I really needed this one due to GLCS requirements. Cheers ishoot, TFTC.

In my opinion Letterboxing is the grandpa of geocaching. Invented in Southern England in 1854 (!), it has a very long and proud historie and is still practised in England. If you walk through Dartmoor for example, you cahn find lots of them. But I still have no stamp and so I only could sign the logbook.
Thanks a lot for the cache.

Had to come over to this side of town to do some errands so I figured I'd look for a cache out here. On seeing a letterbox i knew i couldn't pass that one up.

More of a traditional than a letterbox. Only the stamp inside
Didn't know that adding the black bars to video is also letterboxing!
Cache quite damp inside but the logbook is good enough to sign.

Popped down to watch some cricket and visited this cache. Nice to see it still going strong.
Tftc. A bit damp inside... a few muggles playing cricket today but was quickly in and out dropping off a tb.
No sporting muggles to bother us on a wild and windy early sunday morning. Thanks for the letterbox cache
Nice weekday afternoon caching in the area. Most people were busy doing their own thing. A nice quiet part of town. TFTC.
Had to walk the long way around from the car park as there was a very intense game of cricket going on. They were totally absorbed in their game so we were able to find and recover this one without too much fear of being observed. Log was a bit damp.
We were out and about collecting caches to help finish meeting the requirements for our Geo-Licence challenge. Had to wait for some muggles to pass us before we swooped in to grab this letterbox. A bit smelly like horse manure here from the work they are doing to the fields, so we were very quickly in and out and back to the car. Thanks for the hide!
The new wide path is great over what was previously a potentially muddy track. No problems locating the cache. TFTC!
One of the geokids plays soccer here on Saturday mornings. Been past this cache many times without really looking for it. Today while at soccer we decided to knock this one off the list. Easy find. Cache in good order. TFTC.

Had to go through boggy grass, piles of mud and avoid gaps in the new path to get to this cache.
cache itself is very well camouflaged, but inside is wet (log books dry in bags). Also lots of slaters, slugs and a cockroach in and on it.
When I left the cache, I got shouted at by a grumpy doozer to keep off the new path, even though it was dry and there were no signs saying to keep off it.
Might need to temporarily disable this cache until the works are complete?

Out and about today waiting for paint to dry. So a wee caching trip was in order. I had to head to New Lynn to grab an order made on Monday and then headed out from there.
I parked nearby and headed to gz but was discouraged by the activity near gz with the building of the new path. Thankfully the muggle was working out of sight and I was able to make the find quickly and replaced it in no time.
Thanks for the cache.

Pulled in here after a long drive to lunch. There was some sport of the soccer variety happening nearby so I walked around the field to look less dodgy. It made it take much longer but it was easy find off the under development track.
On the walk back around the field I even helped out by returning a ball, my small, very small, good deed for the day done I headed on to the next cache.

I decided this afternoon to visit a few caches in Auckland to complete my months found calendar. So I mainly targeted some old caches and there are a lot in this area !
The weather is pretty nice and I will not need my rain coat and enjoyed the sun nearly all over the afternoon. Only issue in winter : at 5pm, the sun has disappeared and I used a light to find the 2 last caches of the day !
close to my trip is this letter box. No issue to find it despite the work on going to rebuild the track.
All is in good condition.

Very pleased we opted to bring the gum boots out for this cache. Thankfully due to the under 20's football final happening in Auckland, no footie was being played. It was a quick walk over the sodden fields and mud churned up due to the footpath work to locate the cache and sign the log. TFTC.
Spotted a note on facebook asking if this cache was missing! so I went out and visited GZ and can confirm its still there. Lots of works going on as the council is upgrading the path, I think as long as no trees are being removed it should be safe. Before putting it back, I gave it a wipe out, only a small amount of water inside, and sprinkled over some natural camo, ready for the next cacher
Had to wait for a few mugglers to pass before quickly finding this one. First Post cache Ive been to.
Passing through on a two night two day working visit and a hire car too, yay. After a long day at a work conference it was into the car and a quick and easy tiki tour around a few local caches followed by a quick trip across to the April monthly meeting over at New Lynn. Being newish to the area and visiting I have a lot of choice of caches which is nice.
A letterbox cache is always worth a visit, so built my visit to this area around this cache. I parked near the close by sports hall and found 6 caches in a giant loop prior to going to the event later at New Lynn town.
A nice bit of camo and a good hide here, nicely tucked away and grabbed for a Q E F

After taking the morning to catchup on a little work I decided to reward myself with some cache detection this afternoon. I have passed this hide in the Auto numerous times, but was always on my way somewhere else. Today I decided to finally collect this letterbox. After parking up I made my way across the sodden grounds while the rain continued to fall. I wad well prepared in full wet weather gear. Nice quick find once at GZ. Took TB. Cheers for the cache placement!
Our final 'type' for our 7 a day challenge. Out with beconaze for the day and heading to the CITO next. Thanks for the letterbox. Not so sure about the bonus cockroach in the cache though!
#713. Up in Auckland for a few days of work and a chance to score some caches needed for challenge series. Letterbox hybrids are a bit thin on the ground in Wellington so this was high on my "to do" list. A quick find in the park between some rain showers. Nicely camoed cache. Picked up a TB and dropped off another. TFTC
My very first letterbox! I was picking up a couple of puzzle caches in the area and as this was nearby I stopped to get a smiley on it. I picked up the coin and dropped off a TB
Today was a Geocaching mission into Auckland City - I arrived by plane from Whakatane just after lunchtime, hired a car and set off on a round trip. The plan was to find seven different cache types, a list I had planned out in advance that looped around from the airport, to New Lynn, Point Chevalier, Queen Street, One Tree Hill and then back to the airport for a flight back to Christchurch at dinner time. Spotted it straight away after a short walk around the cricket from the car park. TFTC (1781)
We were at this park today watching master13 play cricket, had noticed a letterbox cache nearby but didn't realise it was so close. So I wandered off and to my surprise very quickly made the find. Our very first letterbox cache! Neat camo, thanks
Still not many letter box caches around & I've been meaning to find this one for ages. I've been a bit hesitant however as its an ishoot hide & I've not done well with the CO's hides in the past - too well-camo'd for me! Was heading home after a walk in the Waitakeres today &, with time on my side for once, decided on somewhat of a whim to detour for this cache.
Parked up & off for a nice stroll. Was debating how long I'd look for, & even checked previous logs as to how long since last find, to discover this one didn't seem too tricky at all. And it wasn't. A nice quick find & had a good look through both logs. Wish I'd brought a stamp. Signed log book & headed away. An easier ishoot this time but still had great camo! Thanks for the hide & thanks for the letter box.
