Found it with quinella today on our way back out of our walk . Tftc. Who took the pen out of the backpack ??
Found with Gazania Rigenson our way back from the impressive viewpoint. View from here not too shabby either! We were charmed by some attentive fantails on our way and suddenly GR pointed out a Kereru sitting not 2 metres away from me at head height, totaly unconcerned as I took my time getting a photo or two set up on my phone to sent to my birder nephew in the UK.A memorable walk. TFTC
A quick find on the way back from the viewpoint. Lots of interesting plants here which we only have as garden plants and hedges in Scotland. The fantails were quite active and showing off their fans. TFTC!
After a frosty start to the day it was perfect winter weather to go for a drive and find a few caches. I spotted the hiding place on approach and that's where the cache was. Lots of people on the track today. TFTC, Biggles.
Taking a long walk with my daughter in the gorge today. Weather is not great, very windy, but at least dry. We did the whole loop, very beautiful track and views. And of course scored a few caches along the way Quick find as described, tftc! Cannot imagine this place covered in snow btw, must also be beautiful!
Walked the whole track and at the lower gorge lookout, I checked if there were any geocaches on the track Andi saw this one. Nice and easy find TFTC
Enjoyed the gorge walk although the signs suggested it was closed. Not much effort to stop people walking it. Quick find which was nice as the last one was a DNF. Cache and log all fine. Thanks for the smiley.
We walked along the Rakaia Gorge Walk and found this caches.
TFTC and greetings from Germany.

Found on a walk along the Rakaia Gorge track on Canterbury Anniversary Day. There were so many people on the track on the way up that I just scoped out the general location and then stopped for a quick find on the way back. What a great walkway - and great to see so many people also out enjoying it today. We were thinking about staying in Rakaia Gorge overnight and you can see the campsite from GZ. TFTC!
Thanks for placing this cache to add interest to our gourge wall.
Easy find, cache is in good condition.

Thankfully no snow today, just drizzle. I think the terrain should have been a 4 tiday with the wet slippery conditions long grass and thistles!! Thanks for the placement ridders76.

Left Zara and toby in the carpark and off for a walk along this track. Lost The Seagnoid along this track somehow. Left our calling card here. Cheers
Day 4 - Thursday 23 December - Ashburton to Amberly taking the inland route to Lake Coleridge. So lets go exploring. Bummer with Toby getting a flat battery today.
The Seagnoid, Zara, Toby and I are of on another Geo adventure this time to Mt Cook for 5 days. Met up with Bullertrout and Bro on the way down. Lake Pukaki was fine but Mt Cook was wet and wild with the Hooker Valley being closed due to high winds, so did not stay long. We went exploring Tekapo, Timaru and a round trip to Lake Coleridge. Short trip and very tiring but awesome.

Guessed the cache hide long before we got to GZ. And we were right, too!
Part of a big trip with Taybeedragon to explore Mt Cook. We explored a little of it but there was gale winds, lots of cloud and rain. Some of the tracks had been closed and others were right dodgy given that we did not have our foul weather tramping kit. We had booked to stay for two nights but left the same day. More time to explore parts of Canterbury! So now I have been to Mt Cook . Still yet to see Aorangi.

We wouldn't stay here for the night, but the view is nice. Replaced logbook, as the previous one was dry but in pieces. The container was in good condition. We enjoyed our walk up here, thanks for placing and maintaining this cache!
Easy find once you brave the prickles. Awesome views down the river. TFTC

A day trip to the hidden gem in mid-canterbury. A small detour to the cache on the way down hill. The magnificent view is worth the four hours hiking.
Cache's all good, some muggles were resting around GZ but they left in a few minutes. The log book was all wet and shattered into pieces. It would be great someone come with a replacement on the next visit.
Beware of some of the guardians have sharp edges and they cut deep.

I often wondered what this cache was about, and now I know, very clever
Sadly the log is pulp and not writable.
Cheers and thanks,

Found easily with Lytteltonwitch today while we walked part of this track. Great fantails and bellbird song on our way. Cache all safe and dry. TFTH

Furthermore I thank you for hiding the many great caches!
Of course I will leave a favo to each cache where the original account did it. If I forget a cache, you are welcome to write to me.
Best wishes, Lærry

Easy find on this walk we have been past many times without stopping . Great place! Thanks
Lors de la rando le long des gorges, on en profite pour dénicher les quelques caches à proximité et s'octroyer une petite pause !
Merci pour la cache

Zowaar! Great walk beside the river, with good views on surrounding countryside. Cache easily found. Thx for the hide! Simone
During our roadtrip through New Zealand I DNF this cache "Stay in Rakaia Gorge (Canterbury)" from ridders76 on 25 februari 2020.
Most likely I overlooked.
Groetjes/Greetings and TFTC from a Dutchman (a long way from home, but home is here the heart is, on the bus).

A few raindrops couldn’t keep us from the gorge walk. Lovely views and a couple caches made it a perfect hike.
Took the sprogs for a wander to get these, a race to the GZ and found by the older kid. Nice view, great track, it's imrpvoed quite a bit in the last 15 years. Cheers
Riley and James set about finding this with enthusiasm. Took a while but we persisted in the logical spot which soon paid off.
Great views from the track. Visited the old mine entrances and found few caches on our way back to the parking. Today is was not snowing, but around +20C degrees instead. TFTC.

Found while on a club trip cycling and walking around Christchurch for a couple of days and then to mid Canterbury for several more. We walked the gorge track as far as the coal mine (unable to find that cache) on a very hot day. Spectacular views of the gorge. TFTC
TFTC- time for a walk after eating to much on Xmas day with two daughters and 6 grandchildren
Had a wonderful day and now a quite walk and another dot day completed

Took a few minutes to find but wasn't to hard. Lovely views along the whole trek. TFTC
I was so busy absorbing the beautiful scenery I walked well past this cache on the way in, but nabbed it on the way back. A beautiful day to out on this track. TFTC!
We made today this trail and searched also a few caches. This one we could find quickly.
TFTC and greetings from Germany.
