On the road with NZ_B, graciesGPSfun and Nosynel. A circuit around Otekaike. A busy spot today. Curious tractor stopped to see what we were doing. Tftc.

Thanks for hiding this cache Bitsprayer I appreciate it. I didn't see any socks but the cows were heading to be milking.
On a two day roadie with NosyNel and Jude_e. Good to be back in the area again.
In Canterbury for a 25th wedding anniversary and am caching with GraciesGPSfun as well.
Kia ora rawa atu for the cache Bitsprayer.

Now that rain has stopped I can do my next 50 in a day challenge for the DGSc. . This is number 17.
Going down to stay at my son's place in Oamaru. Left home early to do a few caches on the way. TFTC
We had just done an awesome trip thru private farm following the Otekaieke river and were heading to Kurow for lunch break. We stopped on route to pick caches up on this road. Thanks for the cache Bitsprayer.
No problems here. Day is starting to warm to something beyond cold. Thanks for placing.
Easy find with that colour! I have a TB in my possession that really needs to visit this cache. TFTC # 15,571
Decided to make a trip to Duntroon over the Dansey Pass. Lots of logs to find and sign and this one was one of them. Day and it begins again. TFTC
#15703. It was a chilly day, so we didn't linger at GZ (and missed the object that was the reason for the cache!). TFTC.
Found with StreetWalker on day 2 of our Queens Birthday weekend, on a most enjoyable Waimate - Kurow - Waimate round trip. It turned out to be a good choice to head inland as the weather was fine (though cold!) until we reached the coast on the last stage of our journey.
Missed the reason for the cache - too busy concentrating on the GPSr. Luckily in our household, the lost sock always seems to turn up after a wee holiday. TFTC.

I have my own theory on the phenomenon of lost socks, but this is not the place to disclose it. (Is the world even ready for such a bomb shell?) TFTC
After a lovely weekend in Omarama for a caching/tramping weekend with BCD it was time to head home. A quick lunch stop in Kurow and off we go again. Lucky we don't seem to have a sock problem in our household! TFTC
Found on way to geo event in omarau, on a geo road trip with RowenaD and flipnz. Didn't see any socks?
back on the back roads for a few of those out of the way caches nice quick find tftc

I convinced Sunroller to accompany me on a tour of the caches around Duntroon, Earthquakes and other parts on the way to Kurow. We had a ball.
Cheers for the cache.

Found this one close to the ground so not sure if has fallen from perch or not. Replaced as best as I could. TFTC. Fantastic view!!
Headed down south with C&D and 11HPG11 for the CHCH Mega as part of the HOAC team, and decided that a Mega road trip/Mega Mission was the right thing to do. After a great day caching from Dunedin to Omarama we manged to get a few hours sleep before the big day 2 started.
Day 2 was the start of a ambitious plan to try and find as many caches as possible in one day! To maximise our chances of a big number we decided a 24 hour caching day was the only way to go. What an epic day, and some great moments too. The rough idea was to cache from Omarama to Oamaru, and then head north towards Christchurch. A huge thanks to everyone for the cache placments, and I apologise for the copy and past logs.
Find #66 for the day.

This was the start of a MEGA caching weekend in the company of good caching friends. In the company of both HKCB & 11HPG11 this was going to be another memorable caching road trip for many reasons.
This is the mission that we had set ourselves up for several months back. It was HKCB's idea, I was just dumb enough to think it was a challenge and I'd be up for it, 11HPG11 was silly enough to come along for the ride once we confirmed a spare seat (Nova Lightening pulled out for family reasons).
We were going to try to beat the NZ one day record in New Zealand (it would have been easier with 4 people), so after 2.5hrs sleep after a good feed at Omarama we were ready to go. This was the sixty fifth on what was to be an epic day with what amounted to 401 caches collected for the day and about 38 DNF's. We managed this with 10minutes to spare but by this time we were done for and still had to drive back to Kaiapoi. All in all an epic days caching with good friends and something I don't think any of us will repeat in a hurry.
All in all it was going to be a big day with a number of challenges, great sceanery, and of course great company. Fantastic driving along and up here as the landscape was so different from what we are used to back in the Waikato. One good thing about backroads being that we could continue our neferious activites without being disturbed by muggles.
Nice quick find here without any issues .
thanks for the placement , thanks for the cache

What a Mega Mission for a group of Hamilton Over Achievers! A great trip, a long time in the planning. I teamed up with Cats&Dragons and HKCB to grab a couple of caches while in Christchurch and surrounding areas for the 2015 Mega Event. We flew out from Auckland on Friday night and traveled to Dunedin in the dark of the night. Stopped for a few hours sleep before setting off to grab caches in the Otago area on Saturday before attempting a few more on Sunday and then arriving at the Mega on the Monday. An amazing, yet crazy road trip
When C&D mentioned a day with over 400 caches I should have turned and ran... instead I said yes, and here we are. 401 caches in 23 hours and 50 minutes. All done on about 2.5hr of sleep. It was hard work with only 3 of us and there were times that were hard and tiring but I still had a blast! An amazing experience that one has to be slightly crazy to even consider
No problems on this one, thanks for the placement. Easy to search here in the dark!

Oh! Just read the page. Here was me thinking the title referred to the possum sock. Pretty icky... TFTC
I guess there may have been an air strip here some time ago. Soon found the cache which is slightly damp but still usable.
Found with Chosen1978. No sign of any airfield now but cache soon found and signed.
Granville86a and I weren't sure what the name was in reference too, but thought maybe there was a runway in adjacent paddock at once stage so a wind Sock (one sock only) would make sense, TFTC a beautiful valley
A quick grab as the cows were coming our way for milking time. We didnt see anything that matched the name.

An easy find, trying our best to avoid the muggle in the nearby field. Now we know where all those odd socks go - glad that mystery has been solved! TFTC.
After my holiday i'm back in NZ and what you can do on a sunny day!
So i search some one the way to Omaru.
TFTC from Germany

LOL!! Now we understand the name of the cache, but unfortunately didn't spot the feature at the time. TFTC
due to a blister I am only wearing one sock myself.
Thanks for placing this cache!

Out on my first all day caching, Dunedin to Kurow and return how many can I get? Number 37. #179
A quick find on a big caching day from Christchurch with Kiwi Moose. Thanks for the hide.
Plenty of midges around made signing the log almost as difficult as having muggles around. TFTC
4102. It gets hard to stay on the main road even when you really want to! Another quick find.
Thanks

Not ours as it's slightly too big. We have a great assortment of solo socks at home waiting on their partners to turn up. Fun name for a cache TFTC.

A quick easy find opposite the sock, with a pleasant smell of mint growing nearby. TFTC
A nice hide, and a good spot to visit, pleased to be making another visit to this part of the country.
