An easy find once you read the description, certainly 6 or 7 metres from GZ !!
The walk to get here is a tough one if walking the track from Gorge-eous. Prepare for some slippin' and slidin', and probably some gravel rash. TFTC

I didn't find this one and I did have a look around but no luck. But from the sounds of it the coordinates are off a bit. I made the mistake from walking from Gorge-ous to do the loop. Don't do it. It was a horrid and dangerous walk. I ended up on my bum a few times. The hill's are very steep with a lot of loose gravile. If you are going to look for it come from the road, but even that way isn't the best has some steep hills but not as slippery. I think this will be staying as a DNF for me. I'm in no rush to walk back down to the area.
This is a difficult track. Do not be fooled by the initial rating. The cache ended up being super easy to find but the trek in was pretty difficult. I'm posting a photo of a map with the easiest route in and I recommend going the same way back out. The hills on the other side of the cache are really steep. I'm a fairly experienced hiker and even I had a bit of trouble with it. Make sure to bring plenty of water and sunscreen if you're out on a hot day and as always, watch out for snakes.
Tftc this took a while, walking up and down the bank. And no need to walk about 2mts from the path. Found it in the end GPS was way out.
My first day caching in the Macedon Shire today. My plan was to spend the afternoon chasing some caches around Gisborne to fill some Ausmer gaps then to join in on a group effort to do the night cache on Mt Macedon.
I was going to meet up with The Pacman to get the caches in this area together but he was running late so he suggested i start without him.
Not sure about pros and cons for this one as such but i approached this one from Gorge'ous. My thoughts at the time were that if this was a T2 cache i had serious concerns about moving on to Pinocchio after this one and it being rated a T5, then getting back to my car before it got dark! I can't believe this is only a T2 cache, the steepness of the hills along this track had me more concerned going down them rather than getting back up! The Pinocchio T5 must have been terrifying from this direction so i didn't continue on this track after getting this one.
But anyway, yes my coords here way off too , being about 15m on the East side of the track standing in the clear. I had to reread the cache notes for the location and refer to previous logs as well otherwise i might still be out there looking for it. But I'm so glad i kept going after seeing that first huge downhill, this cache was a great little challenge to get to. Thx vk3jap for a cache in what is a very spectacular part of the countryside. Cheers

Such a perfect day for it. Sun out fresh air . What could be better.
I dont normally read the discription until i get stuck or after i find the cache to make it harder to find. A mistake on my behalf today as i was looking around jumping in and out of bush for 20 mins. 15 odd meters away. Found it in the end tho thanks for the cache .

West of track helped 24 M out prickled and hot went Criss country what a trek
TFTC -- Out with craigrdean, our aim is to complete the 3 geocaches within this section of the park on Mountain bikes, big mistake !
On a 37 degree day, I parked in the parking area nearest "Gorge-ous cache". The plan was to grab "Gorge-ous", "6or7 off" and "pinocchio" Well the short walk into the Gorge-ous cache was pleasant and the cache was soon in hand. The track into "6or7 off" had a couple of long steep downhills with and a couple of ups as well. If I backtrack this way in this heat it's going to be tough. Near GZ mobile phone coverage is hit and miss, I had taken several screen shots of the info I needed before starting this journey. Previous caches had stated errors of up to 20m with the co-ords. And looking for a stump 1m from the track had me stumped. Luckily when I needed it the most, the mobile reception kicked in and I read Jacko's post saying that the cache is on the other side of the track, the western side. It was then a very simple find. I also used the co-ords from a previous log as well. I had the supplied co-ords at least 20m out. I took a GPS reading S37 30.871 E144 32.849. Thanks vk3jab for 20or25 off. LOL. Thanks for the workout, now another steep climb to "pinocchio" TFTC.
Great walk in, I need the exercise. A good hide and a petty that more cachers don't get to it.
Parked at the middle access point to get this one and another nearby. That track down is seriously steep. Glad I'm not going back that way. Easy find with the clue as co-ords were 21m out today with the 64s. Very peaceful spot. Thanks for this one.
After finding Gorge-Ous cache I continued along the road which shortly after a parting of the ways went precipitously down. I found myself stepping down sideways on this seemingly never ending dangerously steep road. Occasionally I would check my iPhone to see my progress. At the bottom of the hill I checked again only to find it had lost all signal, so with no idea where the cache might be, I struggled all the way back to the geovehicle. Fantastic country but a very disappointed cacher as I'd put in sooo much effort thanks for the challenge. I think the terrain ratings way to low, more like a 4 or 4.5 the way I went. vk3jap
Was out for a hike to grab three caches in this area of the park. After finding the Gorge-ous cache, I continued north along the trail towards this cache. The hike in was seriously steep and though it was downhill from the direction I came, I knew whenever there is a downhill, there is always an uphill.
As I approached, I found an abandoned and most likely stolen ute that had fallen into a ditch on the side of the track. The inside stuff was all strewn on the ground and the car was in a bad way. I had that nervous feeling of wondering whether they were still around. After taking some photos, I walked up the hill to get some phone signal and reported the ute to the police. Noticed an earlier finder also saw the vehicle which made me wonder just how long it has been here.
After this drama, set about finding the cache. Unfortunately, as the cache description has said and other finder have mentioned, the coordinates were out by about 20m - but CO already knew that The hint was most helpful and had the log signed and replaced. I took some coordinate readings for future finders.
S37 30.871
E144 32.846
Just a thought - perhaps the terrain rating might be upped to 3.5? The Gorge-ous cache has a higher T-rating than this one and it would give future cachers a better idea of the challenge that is in store.
Many thanks vk3jap!

A bit of time to spare today and amazingly a bit of sun as well so a short drive was in order to look for a few of the bush caches around Gisbourne. After finding the first cache along this trail I thought the walk wouldn't be too bad but how wrong I was! This was a very strenuous hike with rolling steep hills, even more difficult heading back out with a few more inclines. I know these ratings are subjective but I can't imagine how this one qualifies as only terrain 2. I even spotted a 4WD along the way that hadn't been able to make it to the cache! I wonder if it was another cacher? Great scenery and great place for a cache, thanks for the hide vk3jap.
So many potential hiding spots out here. Love it! Beautiful area. Thanks for opening everyone's eyes to this almost untouched bush
It was a great day for a wander in the bush so I decided to tackle this one after visiting the Gisborne Market. I probably should have done it previously when I did 'Gorge-ous' or 'pinnocchio, but I didn't mind as I wandered in. I come in from the north and there certainly is a big, slippery descent. It was much easier to ascend after logging the cache.
Found the cache easily enough from the description though as previously mentioned in other logs the gps was pointing to a spot about 15-17 metres the other side of the track.
Thanks for the cache in the nice bush location vk3jap

Wow, what a journey. Normally I'd be frothing at the mouth for a downhill descent to a cache, but this walk was tough. With a combination of loose gravel, a very uneven surface and shale, this made for a slow and cumbersome descent. I eventually made it to within 20 metres of the cache, glad I read the description and hint beforehand. A quick find. Now to tackle the nearby 5 star terrain cache. [xx(][xx(] TFTC vk3jap.
Grabbed this on a Sunday arvo hike with my groomsmen. Cords had me 20m off on wrong side of path - read description and found it. Tftc
I had an RDO today so I decided to go for a bushwalk and grab some caches. I went for a walk here many years ago but took a different track so most of the walk was on new track for me. This was cache number two, after which I found the final cache in this area of the park and looped back to Hobbs Road.
I certainly wasn't expecting the track to be so steep and I almost would have preferred the grades to be uphill than downhill, as the ground was damp and pretty slippery in some parts! Having said that I love getting out in the bush and thoroughly enjoyed the walk. I was surprised with the number and variety of wildflowers at this time of the year and the forest was ablaze with pink heath and wattle. Great to see an abundance of grass trees in the area too.
After arriving at GZ the GPS led me up the wrong side of the hill. With no cache in sight I re-read the description which significantly narrowed down the location. Soon after I spotted something a bit suss, and sure enough I had the cache in hand. The GPS was about 20m out but I can't really complain as my coordinates aren't normally very accurate too!
TFTC and the very enjoyable walk, vk3jap.

It really helps if you read the description and that's exactly what I did before starting the search - lucky me The cache was located in no time and with the coords off for me as well, I tried to take another reading. However my GPS was all over the shop floor so I gave up.
Thanks and cheers

Find #3897
Streak: 305 days
After finding Pinnochio, Team❂aky and I headed beck for this one, we managed to walk right past on the way through. It took quite some time to locate this one and the use of some previous logs to finally locate this one. Co-ords seem to be a fair way off.
My GPSr read the following while at GZ: S37 30.872 E144 32.854
Thanks to vk3jap for placing this cache. TNLN

Found on the opposite side of the road than indicated. There was a cool little tree frog in the stump that didn't seem perturbed by our presence. Quite tough walk in and out though we did do the Pinocchio cache first.
Well second attempt was successful , as stated before any excuse for a hike

Out for a big day geocaching (an RDO from work) heading for a couple in the You Yangs, up around Gisborne and then back to Woodlands.
I had the GZ about 20 meters off but the clues make it an straight forward find. In the wilderness yet so close to civilization.

Searched high and low but no cigar. Not too bothered frequent the Pyrete quite often so will have another look then. Good excuse for a walk in the bush.

Well, if we're all laughing at your co ordinates (including you) I'll join in too :p Though in your defense, I went back to it 6 times and got 6 different figures, and that's with a Montana. Maybe 37 30.872, 144 32.851 was the average? Anyway, nice trip in an out. TFTC and the hint - that led me straight to it
6 or 7 metres off? I think it was more like 25 metres off. Awful coordinates, use SnapHappy's coordinates if you want to narrow things down quicker. The walk was OK by this point, all I had done was go downhill The hard part was returning, having to go back up the hill.
Wow, what a walk. My partner and I set off to go for a bit of a hike around Gisborne and decided to check if there were any caches nearby. We went a bit out of our way to get this one - but a nice and easy find once we got to the GZ. Some of the steepest hills I have had to climb. The gf was not too impressed but happy we did it in the end.
Didn't realise there was another cache nearby, though I don't think I could have convinved the gf to do the other anyway. Thanks heaps for the cache, this has been one of the most rewarding ones we have found.

Having to make a run out to Gisborne & then back to Bacchus today, I was glad to be able to stop off & grab this nice little multi along the way... Wow... What a walk with some of he steepest hills between then last cache & this one...
This is a testing walk with a couple of killer ups and downs, so the smiley is certainly well-earned. Beautifully forested area, a great location for a cache...
The hills are treacherous and good footwear is a must... Walk is along a well defined track... I found the Co-Ord's out by 28 Mtrs (S 37° 30.876 E 144° 32.847)...
Thanks for the cache & bringing me here (I think)...
Took: Nothing Left: Pathtag Signed Log

A great name for a cache... never fear, you're by no means the only hider to suffer this affliction, nor the worst culprit.
Pinocchio, for what it's worth, was right on the money... this one was, um, six or seven, plus another score, out, according to my GPSr today. I guess it's one of those locations, eh.
Your description, on the other hand, was spot on, so an easy find... apart from the tortuous hike out of the nearby cache, that is.
Thanks for a challenging, but satisfying pair of hides in this beautiful place.
(One last thought: why is it that I can manage all of those steep, slippery slopes with no drama, then slide @r$3-over on the last flat part of the trail?)

A gorgeous, if not rather..ahem...exhausting walk today to pick up this one and Pinocchio. There were some choice words whispered, and it was slow going at times, but I'm pleased to say we got there in the end.
A lovely day out with Spotty Teapot and the kids.

Ok wish I had've scrolled down further to read a few logs!
Decided to go 'bush walking' with master 7 master 6 and miss 4, and entered through gate 1...!!!
Wow what a hike... We all spent more time on our bums than feet... But we had a ball! Must admit wondered how on earth we were all going to get back to the car but after logbook was signed and the kids chose a treasure....decided as we knew what was behind us... We'd head for gate 2... Ahhhhhh good decision!
Thanks for a great afternoon!!

Walked on with 6Hinemoa2 from Pinocchio to this one. As, I suspect, is intended, we had to ferret around a bit before eventually reading the description properly and locating the cache with no further ado. We then followed the track back out to Hobbs Lane and back to the car to complete a nice little circuit. Thanks for the outing, vk3jap. Most enjoyable!
Just as I expected this one was a little 'off'. Bristlehound and I looked for a little while expanding our search appropriately but were not succesful until we resorted to the clue which soon had us with the cache in hand. Thanks Bristlehound!
We headed back to the car after checking maps, our GPS's and once there enjoyed a cuppa after a lovely walk through the bush.

One of two caches found this morning on an early walk. I know this area well and parked at Gate 2. Not sure what went wrong with my GPS here as I passed the cache I still had 130m to go. 50m down the hill I noticed that it was now behind me so back up I trudged. By this time the GPS was behaving again and the cache found with spot on numbers.
Thanks Ian
Thanks Ian
Took the walk here with the owner and picked up both these newly placed testing caches in one hit.
Edit : Added a waypoint to where I found it to be.
Another well-earned smiley, thanks Ian

It's 5pm, daylight is not going to last long and Sylvia says lets go and get the cache. Sounds like a scene out of the Blues Brothers. Except we are not wearing sunglasses.
Hmmm.... 2 choices as to how to go in to get the cache.
Do we choose gate one or gate 2!
Sylvia chooses gate 1!
Bzzzt!
Ok, I like your area of choice, but, my god!, we decended on some of the steepest tracks i've ever seen!!
Down, down, down, then down a bit more.
"Hey this looks like a creek bed." says Sylvia.
Then, up...GPSr says on the right. We spread out. Sylvia spots the cache on the left. Hmmm...20 m out on the GPSr. Poor thing cant make up its mind.
Try S 37 30.874 E 144 32.853
We opt to go out via gate 2. A much better choice.
And, yes, its dark for the return journey, both of us dripping with sweat.
Thanks for the challenge and the workout.
Oh...and the cache.

I was at Ballarat waiting for the start of Orienteering relay when this one published.. so a few hours later when all was done and dusted I decided I could make this one on my way home, that's when the fun began, I drove past the better way in to park at the other trail head. With no phone coverage I was glad that I'd at least entered the coords. Once on this trail I soon discovered that the contours here were far from attractive. Arriving at GZ with only the coordinates I proceeded to check everything within a reasonable distance however didn't venture over the track to the other side.. (big mistake) I reluctantly gave up and chose to go the offtrail direct route which was another mistake, however half way up the hill some 400m away I get phone coverage to read the cache page, cache name and hint.. Doh.. I umm and arr'd for a bit.. and decide that the opportunity was too good to let slip by.. so I slide back down the hill and mountain climb back up the other side.. yay.. *FTF* then sensibly chose the long walk back via the other trail, and the road back to my lonely car.. Thanks vk3jap for the cache, I found it to be 22m off, however as now very late to a dinner engagement only waited till the 33% confidence point on my GPS waypoint averaging..
