Alice Springs to Adelaide Roadtrip
Day One: Alice Springs.
Today I flew to Alice Springs and picked up the van.
The weather is hot, so no heroics today; just a few useful caches in and around the township.

Today is a day for just short bursts in the heat. I took a cluster of three of these before heading back to the air con. Thanks for the cache and series redcenterdazza.

Out and about around Alice Springs with e,gregory1 on a warm day. Mr e.g had a list of to do caches and I happily tagged along.

I've walked this track a number of times and ridden it a few times finding the occasional cache along the way. Today we were on a mission to 'place' an earth cache in the area. Finding caches along the way was part of the exercise.

Day 26 of my trip north from Adelaide, through central and western Queensland and into the Northern Territory, ending up at Alice Springs last night.

This morning I met up with sushilord, another cacher from Adelaide who is currently working in Alice Springs, and we spent a few hours finding a few targeted caches around the town. My finds included 19 Traditionals, a multi and an earthcache. We had one DNF.

It was a bit warm, but we still managed a 5 km walk along the way.

This was one of our finds along the walk.

This cache was found today and brings our overall cache find tally to 9711. We found this as part of our 2018 Round Australia trip.

Out on the bike today I completed this series. I had a lovely ride but didn't make it to the end as I got a bit frustrated. Yep I went for a ride and found a cache.

Found on a great day with dghoffy and granville86a as part of the temporary caching team TTSS (Trans Tasman Swiss Squad), and as an already reduced team (numberwise). On our way back from the Simpsons Gap we decided to get one last cache. We took longer finding this one than we should have. But in the end the last TTSS-log was done.

Found with dghoffy, and Zuse7 as part of the temporary caching team T.T.S.S.(Trans Tasman Swiss Squad) for the Red Centre Event. We headed out towards Simpsons Gap today so picked up a few of the caches along the way. This was our last cache of another great day around Alice. Time for the team to disperse. Zuse7 heading to Uluru and dghoffy and I heading back to town. Thanks team it has been great enjoying the caching and the sights of Central Australia.

After attending the Farewell Event, we headed into town to pick up some hire bikes so that geo-hubby and Mr iluvtrekking could hit the cycle paths. They completed the Desert Park Trail and Simmo's Ride Trail collecting all caches. Thanks redcenterdazza

Alice trip 2017. Day 13. Today was the forth day of the Alice Springs Red Center event where Sol de Lune, Luckyl10n, Fitzy_1965 and I spent a short day finishing the caches around Alice Springs. In the afternoon we also took on the walking trail towards Simpson's gap for those caches.

#6921 - 15:53; Day 15 of the Alice Mega Road Trip with Sol de lune, albida33 and fitzy_1965, so signing logs as A.L.F.S. We are in Alice Springs for the Red Centre Experience event which is the primary justification for our trip. After a long day yesterday, today's mission is to quietly cache around the town collecting those caches missed on earlier runs, some newly published caches and perhaps one more trail. We picked up another 34 finds today and our first (and only) DNF since arriving in Alice! Thanks to all the COs. After a bit of a break back at the camp, we headed out to tackle the Simmo's Ride trail, being joined by toyhunters for this mini mission. It was actually getting hotter later in the day, but we stuck to the task, on foot, right the way to the end. All of the caches werre located and signed, including this one which was an added bonus as we started along the path. TFTC redcenterdazza

On the road to the Alice Springs Mega with LuckyL10n and Albida33. We arrived in Alice Springs to pick up fitzy_1965 to complete our group and set about the fun of attending the event.

We spent the next 5 days caching around the region enjoying the area and finding a lot of the local caches. A great spot to visit and well worth the effort to get here.

13367. Next find of Day 05 of the Red Centre Experience Roadtrip.

I flew into Alice Springs to meet up with my caching mates Sol de Lune, Albida33 and LuckyL10n (signing mostly as ALFS) to attend the Red Centre Experience and then venture up north to Darwin and then east into Qld before heading south for home - a three week caching trek.

Next stop for the day. Quick find at GZ. Signed the log, replaced the cache, and it was off to the next cache.

Found on our Red Centre Experience. This afternoon, I took a really kind and generous offer to find the caches on this bike trail with albida33, LuckyL10n, fitzy_1965 and Sol de lune - together, we signed the logbooks as TALFS. As the sun was almost setting, we quickly powerwalked through the trail where each cache was found very quickly as a collective group and all in good condition. The views of the adjacent ridgelines and the mountains in the distance were beautiful at this time of day, which made for a great experience. We ended up drinking a lot of water and finished the trail very tired - but it was a geocaching mission well done! TFTC!

The weather is bit hot today. .6th day caching with geo-friends from Melbourne, Perth, NSW & QLD - . Had a swim in the pool - water was very cold but beautiful Attended the closing ceremony.

One of many fantastic caches we found during our travels to Alice Springs to attend the Red Centre Experience. We had a fantastic time catching up with our friends from all of Oz and the world and making many new ones. These caches were an added bonus to this wonderful adventure.

In Alice for the "Red Centre Experience" easter event. Today we headed out for another bike ride, this time to tackle Simmo's Ride. We found every second cache, and filled in the gaps on the way back. TFTC!!

Went to the wrong side of the track before seeing the signs of the cache on the other. Not sure what was going on here with the GPS. TFTC redcenterdazza.
