Getting cold looking for this cache we were just ready to abandon search when The Sallies-mobile pulled up. Searched a bit longer with them and just getting in the car when Bear-Left joined the search. Left them looking.
DNF. We had a bit of a look around and decided to call it quits when The Sallies pulled up. So we had a further look with them, still no joy, then another hopeful, BearLeft joined in too.
We were the first to bail out as it was meant to be an easy find. Left the others still looking.....

Searched high and low for far too long for this one! Should have been easy based on its rating! Oh well, this just keeps us humble - unless it has really gone missing! Thanks, anyway - and we will find the other two! Rodney and Iris.
Search once and searched again after we had successfully found Tunfisk's walk 2 and 3... a little disappointed because we hoped to finish the series, oh well a return trip is on the cards.
We stopped here for what we thought would be a very quick find, but that didn't happen. It was also the first time in the whole weekend that someone drove by and yelled "have you found it yet?". We searched for 10 mins and then left as the sallies and bear left arrived. We could see them still searching when we arrived at the EC on the other side of the hill. For a one star this is looking suspicious. Might need checking
I was staying at the nearby holiday park and wanted an evening walk, so this was quite close and looked like I could make a loop of a few.
I ran into the Sallies here (now you have to post a DNF guys!) and we all looked at likely and less-likely possibilities before giving up and, like Tunfisk, walking on.

TFTC found while down for the MEGA event, and met some other cachers along the way
Stopped by a local reporter, as he knew about some big event here in dunedin and wanted to find out more. TFTC.
Found this little series as we were passing by (backwards) - unfortunately no time to find the final this time around.
We were asked a few questions by a journalist who was constructing a story for the local paper about the NZ Mega event. Maybe we'll be famous...

Out and about on a MEGA cache raid with IndiannaJill and team FMZ. Good hide but soon spotted in the torch light TFTC.
Found on our short but Mega trip across the ditch. we flew in to Christchurch on Friday, drove to Dunedin on Saturday, cached on Sunday, drove back to Christchurch on Monday and flew home on Tuesday. Tiring, expensive and well worth it.
Cache was right near a giant dog poo which was an extra bonus.

This one didn't take us too long but we were expecting to find a container sans lid - but since we found a nice new container, that made us realise our old PQs (just a couple of days old) were pre maintenance run, so perhaps number 3 was back, so we headed back there and found it! TFTC!!!
Well the area is certainly showing the signs of a Mega load of cachers but we couldn't locate the cache.
Thanks anyway tunfisk.

With the formal appointments signed off, it was time for some more sightseeing and caching. A nice quick pick up to begin the little series.

We had no luck here today, it was a shame not to finish this series we couldnt find this one.
Out and about in Dunedin for NZ Mega. Car flags flying, meeting up with other cachers on the tracks. Met up with several other Aussie cachers at this one. TFTC SL
We did the first two in the series, but from the logs judged the third had gone and didn't attempt it. Thanks for the park and grab.
Found as part of the NZ Mega 2012 weekend
did these as we were passing (backwards) - but unfortunately didn't have time to locate the final.
We ended up getting interviewed by a journo as we were finding this one along with FuzzyNZ and others

After spending the morning caching around the inner city of Dunedin with Roostaman, we headed away from the chaos of traffic and muggles for the solitude of some scenic countryside caches. This looked like a good little series to do...and we managed to get off to a good start in finding this one.

Find # 4522 and a total of 78 today with Marcus Vitruvius, on the 4th day of our NZ Mega trip, on the way around the Dunedin area. Another nice cache and hide and then on the way again. TFTC tunfisk,

Find number#142 while down south attending the Mega. Container needs attention. TFTCSL
Night caching as part of NZMega 2012. Thanks for adding to our fun. Thanks for replacing cache container too.
Nice quick find with the help of some passerby Geocachers and ones looking for it. Nice team effort!! Mind your hands though..
Wonder if there's going to be a prize for the greatest number of DNFs at the Mega?
Found with troobloo and Bushbaby321 on our NZ MEGA trip. SL TN Left some PT's along the way. T4TC
Another great find on the Emvy_Us / Waiiti20 mega tour of the Southern South Island. TFTC
Another afternoon out with our caching buddies the Walenators having been out to Mega. Working our way around the local area. This one took a little while and saw all members of both teams exit the cars. Eventually located. TFTC
We are out for the day with the Earthbound's whilst on our NZ Mega Trip. Cache took a little while to locate, logbook signed and cache replaced. TFTC
Staying in a cabin in the nearby holiday park allowed us the chance to grab this one without much travel. Found with Coruze and Bushbaby321.

I visited your cache as part of a week-long self indulgent Geocaching trip from Nelson to Bluff and back again. I apologise for not leaving a completely personalised log, but I do want to thank you for the time, money and effort you put into placing your caches. Without people like you who place caches, there would be nothing for the rest of us to come and find. You are fantastic

1651st cache found by WazzaAndWenches.
Waz and the Wenches are in Dunedin for the NZ Mega Event over the weekend.
After the rain had stopped for a while we ventured out toward where we stayed last visit to Dunedin (2yrs ago). This series of caches did not exist back then and the area was quite devoid of caches. Not so today.
Thank you tunfisk.

While in Dunedin to attend the NZ Mega Event we took some time out from doing the things tourists do to find a few caches. We were hoping to find a few puzzle caches while in Dunedin, and this cache was one we required to find a final cache. The cache was easily found and after signing the log, we jumped back in to the geo-mobile and headed off for the next one. Thank you for placing the cache tunfisk
First find of the day. Just down from where I spent the night. I would have got them last night but weather wasn't the best last night.
Coords were 11m out for me, but narrowed down the search to a more likely hiding spot and found fairly quickly - TFTC.
Getting to the end of a caching day in changeable weather. Arrived Dunedin early so filling in time before Mega rush at caches. Weather so changeable so grab the caches while we can. Also notived the top is missing.
Lid to the container is missing, yet miraculously the contents are still dry. Placed the container back upside down to ensure the contents stay dry. Tunfisk, might be a good idea to get a new container for this when you redo #1.
So now I have #1 and #2. Since 1,2 and 3 are in a line along this road what are the odds I can extrapolate for Tunfisk's Rest? Plug in the numbers we do know and... nowhere near this road. Well, there arer only 100 combinations to search... Naah.

Rainy evening. No muggles.

This was close to the last puzzle cache I had completed from afar so I just had to do it.
Cheers for the cache.

The lid of the cache is a bit loose, and can fall off.

Couldn't find it ... too dark. Certain we were in the right spot. Hope to come back before we leave town.
Took us a bit longer than we thought it would. Hidden in a good place but had to be careful with all the mini soccer muggles practising nearby. Skibeagle163 didn't find this one before us! TFTC
Nearly a DNF due to high level of muggle traffic, coords being off by a bit. left to find the other two, easily spotted in the open when we walked back after the other two were done. Placed it in what appeared to have been the slightly better concealed 'pozie'.
Found 1st one but very busy will have to come back for the others later in the day
Coords were a bit out for me too but found it in the end. Unfortunately I deleted my corrected coords from my GPS in error but they were up to 11 meters different from the original (possibly a bit less allowing for GPS accuracy.)
Very windy tonight!
Oops I originally logged that several trackables visited but that was incorrect, I left the bag at the motel. I will delete the visit logs but they may still show on past trackables.

GZ had us in the park as opposed to the tree line. Guessed that it must be along the perimeter somewhere. Carried out a 15 metre sweep and only came up with plenty of doggy doo doo. Pity. We were looking forward to this series while we camped out next door.
Found it at 3:50 PM, our 5th of 8 finds today. Clever hide this one. It was Mrs O.F.'s sharp eyes that found its' hiding spot

Hi tunfisk!!
Hehe, have been planning to do this walk for ages, seeing as my brother placed it, but living so far, didn't have time last time I was here, and only now managed to get a chance to do it, Christmas day!
First one of the day! And pretty easily found! It had fallen out of its correct spot, so mum placed it back. And we were off to find the next one! Yay!
Thanks for the hide!
