It is with sadness that we have decided to archive this hide. The two landmarks that identified this cache are both gone, The Supercar races have moved to Newcastle and the Sprinter artwork is now decorating the West Connex operations somewhere.
Its been fun but no longer relevant. Thanks to all its visitors and finders.
Looking for a Pheonix to rise from the ashes somewhere!

With some business to do in homebush today we found this one... As other loggers post the log is unsignable and needs some maintenance
Finally getting a chance to do some maintenance. Temporarily disabling as the container needs some work. Will try not to be too long.
After attending Game II of Origin, Flickorus and myself decided to wander around the street near our hotel to soak in the Origin vibe. Opened the app to see this cache close by so we wandered over. At GZ, there were 2 others already here so we asked them if they had found it and they responded with no. So Flickorus and I commenced searching with Pitman Clan and LtWork and eventually the little blighter was by Pitman Clan.
None of us were able to sign the log though as it is nothing but mush now, took a photo for evidence if required however based on the recent logs, it seems its been this way for quite some time.
Thanks for the cache placement Cachefinders2

Finally a blues series win! Headed over with pitman clan And finally get to mark off this cache after attempting this time last year. Log unsignable have photo for evidence. Found a hairy friend while looking and met a fellow cacher and her friend
Finally spotted & found .3rd time here so happy to log as a found.Nice to meet some other cachers at GZ.Log completely mush and unsignable.Photo taken.
Search interrupted by angry ranger. I suggest you don’t poke around the infrastructure ...
What a beautiful statue. Seriously, what were people thinking putting it up the top of a skyscraper?!? Up close like this, it's a ripper.
Anyway, onto the cache. After admiring the statute, I realised the actual cache was a further few metres on, so I walked over to the obvious hiding spot and started hunting. Hard to look subtle around here! Anyway, eventually spotted something not like the others, and had the cache in hand. Cache is, unfortunately totally unsignable, but have taken photos if CO would like validation. Thanks for bringing me here!

Great cache, found on my second attempt, not signed as log is squashed into the cache and needs replacing.
Had the luxury of being ahead of schedule on an interstate visit for work, meaning I had some time to walk to the station via this one while making my way back to the airport. Had a heads up from a colleague that it may take some time. A quick few minutes perusing previous logs had me armed with enough info to get the job done, but nothing was turning up. A quick PAF confirmed I was in the right spot taking the right approach & gave me some advice on approach angle which eventually led to a discovery. As anticipated from previous finders the log has got damp at some point and now seems to be unretrievable mush. As such, log wasnt signed.
Great little hide. Nice quick & easy find on my way home from DFO Homebush. Needs replacing unfortunately. I had no spare logs with me. Thanks.
After a exciting day at the Royal Easter Show we thought we would check out this cache. Took a bit to find and a bit more to get the log out. The log is full but I squeezed my name on no room for Mark277. Thanks for a great cache and greetings from New Zealand. By the way a guy from my home town won the world wood sawing champs here. Well done kiwi.
Found the second time here. Im back here while waiting for the opening of the second night of Bruno Mars concert 2018... Found after looking at old acitivity logs.
Did not sign as its difficult to pry out and looks like its already torn. Need a new log
Quick look in the pouring rain - will clearly need a little more time and sunlight for this one.
Have been meaning to do this one for some time and found some time today. Took a while to locate and as often happens found it when I stopped actively looking. As mentioned in previous notes log is full and difficult to access. TFTC
Had some spare time in the morning, jumped on the bike and here we are. My son found it this time in about 30 seconds. Had a hard time getting the log out, but finally managed to do it. The log is full, needs replacement. Thanks for the challenge!
It has take 4 tries to find it.
Very well hidden.
Log book full and stuck.

Located at 8:34pm. After logging the nearby Earth Cache, I power walked down to this cache. Had to wait out a muggle just chilling there with a coffee in the dark before I could saunter over and make the find. Excellent camouflage on this one. Спасибо! תודה! L’chaim! TFTC!
# 84. 9:45am. Boy that took a while !!! Lots of muggles heading to an athletics meet too. Found it in the end . TFTC

We spent about an hour trying to find the cache, but either it is hidden very well or we were out of luck for today. Tried a few bolts but they all real.
Urgent call from my Australian Colleagues saw my Christmas holiday cut short and a quickly arranged flight to Sydney ensued. What we don't do for the "West" island of New Zealand.
This cache was conveniently situated right out side my accomodation so on the way walking to dinner I attempted this.
Was chatting to Mrs NZT still in NZ and said I would get back after this attempt.
She messaged me a while later asking how'd i got on.... did you need to ask was the question????
Truth be known I had only JUST finished replacing the cache. Took me WAY longer than it should have!!! Don't tell Mrs NZT!!!!
A great little hide... thanks for placing...
If I make it to the Casino this trip I know which colour my monies going on.

Travelled down to Sydney from Newcastle today for a few days in the City. My muggle friend was a bit poorly, so while she went for a nap I took the opportunity to grab a quick cache. GZ was literally right outside our hotel so didn't have far to walk. Had a vague idea of what I might be looking for but it still took a good 20 minutes of feeling around, pulling bits, standing back with hands on hips, more feeling, more quizzical standing and looking, until I finally found the sneaky little blighter. Picked a good time of the afternoon for it, not a soul in sight, so able to sign and replace in peace. Great hide, TFTC

Late night find just down from my hotel for my daily. I have no idea what was on last night but these Olympic park hotels were the only ones in Sydney available for less than $500 a night. STrange place to be... I remember coming up out of the train station for the olympics, I havent been back since.
To all those complaining that the log was hard to extract... use gravity!!! it isnt tight in there

Found really easily, getting the log out took a while, tftc. 2nd NSW find, only here for a couple of days.
Took the chance to change a blue marker to a yellow one.
Came here about a year ago when the cache went missing so it was good to come back for the find.
Calendar day 189.

I was out and about in the area and found myself close to this cache so decided to take a look. Parked the car (somewhat illegally) nearby and then sprinted across towards gz, the hint helping me to hone in on the prize. Then I saw that there were many possible look-alikes! As others have noted, I also found it very difficult to remove the log. Then it was a quick sprint back to the car. TFTH
Finally found it. Log removed pretty easily with this use of a safety pin, thanks
Found after i threw my discus in the stadium and came 4th really liked this cache TFTC
Found on our way up to Sydney Olympic Park to watch Jerry Seinfeld's standup show, after months of huge anticipation as big fans of his old sitcom. After settling into our hotel ACROSS THE ROAD, we walked over to grab this cache. Now that all the school children had left the area after a swim, it was a very quiet area and a pretty quick find. Very nicely hidden in a beautiful and peaceful area! HOWEVER, unfortunately the container will NOT open and therefore the log cannot be signed. Definately worth checking and maintaing! If you need further confirmation that I honestly found the cache, please let me know and I can provide a photo. TFTC Cachefinders2!
Once you see it, the light bulbs will be going off in your head. Of course, (all on black) there it is!
Log has been shoved into the cache, making it impossible to get out. So was unable to write on log paper.

The amount of times LovelyLadyLocks and I have come back here to try find it and we are either muggled out our it is gone. Finally ticked this one off of our list! TFTC
Oh and log is hard to extract if you simply pull, but just twist and pull and it is easy peasy

Thankfully Pizza_Steves eyes were sharper than mine at this cache, l got to GZ first and l swore l had felt over every little part with my hand to no avail. He gets there and within 20 seconds he finds it! Grr! Haha l was staring right at it! TFTC Cachefinders2

Definitely the most difficult log extraction ever!!! Haha. But I got it in the end. A beautiful sunny winter's day, perfect for a wander in Olympic Park. My son got recruited directly from his first year uni course interstate - he was studying film making - to work at the Sydney Olympics, so a bit of nostalgia as well.
I sat on a nearby bench and shared my lunch with a magpie.
Thank you Cachefinders2!

Found it with JohnoMawbs! Attending the 2017 Hillsong Conference in a nearby stadium, I decided to take a break from it all with a cache. Walked over to GZ to find my friend and fellow conference-attendee JohnoMawbs already there. After a bit of hunting, he found it. The first cache of this type that I've seen. Tftc.
Gave this one a go this time last year but a DNF. Gave it a go today and a nice easy find with the help of lachstein. Tftc
Our party of 6 came together to for a concerted hunt. We had some ideas of what kind of container it might be, and after a few minutes of hands and knees work, I put my hand on it. Sneaky! Thanks Cachefinders2.
Out caching with ziggiau, good for nine finds today!
Quick find by ziggiau while we were looking for the standard kind of hidable containers. Beautiful!

First one for today, out with Team MavEtJu, Ziggiau, Flutterby Squishy and P&Q. Cache #154 TFTC
Has a good hunt but no luck today. Also attracted the attention of security who were not ecstatic about our attention to their main gas supply! Apparently there's a camera trained on this exact spot, so watch out!
Container replaced. A little different but still a nano and may be more of a challenge.
We have been trying to get to this one for weeks but cant seem to time our run between the rain. Taking offline for the moment till we can check and replace if needed.
There seem to have been a few recent DNFs. I found this cache earlier this year and was in the area today so I thought I'd check it out. It definitely is not where I found it. It has possibly been muggled...
Three of us looked for a long while on all the structures around GZ without seeing or feeling anything. All the trickier places were especially checked out visually and with tools. We will look again next time we are here.
Searched for 20mins. Ran my hands over every spot and surface. No luck with this one.
3,5 weeks caching in Australia and New Zealand - what a life-time experience.
Thanks to all the owners to show me place I would not have found with travel books.
Unfortunately this cache I could not find.

Found it at night. Had to go over the structure inch by inch with a torch until I finally spotted the cunningly hidden little cache. The log is well and truly full now.
On way through to Goulburn and decided to do a few in the homebush area while we were in the area after a visit to the dfo centre. Log book is full and didn't have any replacement logs on me at the time. Tftc tnln.
Very good hide. Took AGES before my little brother spotted it. Very good and tricky hide. TFTC
Found the other day with Happy Jackie. This was my third time here and only came back because of other finds. We nearly gave up again until wait, what's that?? Eureka. Finally a smiley. Thanks, well hid.
Wow!! Just about to give up and I thought one more look and spotto!!! Yay very tricky cache!!! Found with bulldogtrev
I sprinted to GZ got CIH SL and sprinted back before the first V8 or any other machine or muggle could rumble past me! TFTC Cachefinders2
Looked all over and even used the photo as a hint appears it's hidden really well or the kids missed it. Will try again next time
